Slinfold Golf & Country Club in Horsham

As a member this golf club thay cannot do enough to make my visits a joy. They are friendly and welcoming to me and my guests. The breakfast was excellent value and perfect. Ignore any poor reviews and make this a place to visit.

Another excellent round of golf. Not Wentworth but for the price perfect. Well maintained, Friendly staff. Nice setting.

Spa; ESPA express facial and ESPA back, neck and shoulder massage with Natasha. Very nice setting, plenty of parking, my therapist was completely lovely, respectful and gentle and I thoroughly enjoyed my treatments. I will be a monthly regular now. Will also be bringing hubby to try out the bar food and drinks as very local to us 😁 ❤️

I regret to say that my recent visit to the golf and country club left much to be desired. The exorbitant £5 charge for a meager portion of chips felt like a blatant disregard for reasonable pricing. The dining experience, overshadowed by this stingy serving size, fell far short of expectations. I sincerely hope the management reevaluates their pricing strategy and portion sizes to provide better value for patrons in the future.

I honestly think that was one of the best roasts I have ever had! every component on that plate was a solid 10/10....compliments to the chef! Great relaxed, warm and cosy atmosphere.

Great roast dinner - really friendly staff - fab location - what's not to like? £15.95 for an amazing roast beef, with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, market veg served with cauliflower cheese. Delicious! Lots of parking and open to non-members. Roasts served from 12-6 . Thanks crew for a lovely lunch again!

I recently went to Slinfold Golf Club for an evening dinner after being recommended by friends. We sat on the terrace which had incredible views over looking the course and a lake with one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. The food quality was great, the staff were friendly and very attentive and the prices very affordable. Overall was an excellent experience and will be coming again.

Visited Slinfold Golf Club for Sunday lunch. Went for the roast Topside of beef & we were both very pleased with the quantity & quality! For £13.95 each we had lovely tender slices of roast beef, roast potatoes, roast carrots, green beans, cauliflower cheese, and a giant Yorkshire pudding! Altogether very impressed - we’ll be back!

My partner and I were organising our wedding, we were put in touch with Shirely. I have nothing more than praise and adoration for the way we have been treated and dealt with, from understanding our requirements right through to the final touches. Shirely is very passionate about what she does and how she does it, her communication and co-ordination skills are great! Thank you for all your help and I cannot recommend Shirley and the team enough for their help, what a stunning venue and great service.

It’s pretty poor, my wife and I have been members now for almost 2 years, hoping things would improve. But they are not good. There is very little interest in customer service or in the experience of members and guests. A real shame as the facilities are quite nice.

DONT JOIN....... I have been a member at Slinfold Golf and fitness for 10 yrs, it has seriously gone down hill in that time,they don’t listen to their members, the classes are over subscribed and usually 15 on the waiting lists which is more like a waiting pool, they send an email out when there is a cancellation so first come first served, you never get a space unless you watch your emails 24/7 as it goes in a nano second. They take on too many members and can’t provide the service as not enough classes, it’s a rubbish system!!!!!!!

Visited with some friends so our 4 year old children could enjoy a meal and a get together. Kids menu was great and generous portions, Lovely lake and golf course views, spacious Lounge, welcoming reception staff. Will visit again.

This was my first visit to the country club using a guest pass after my partner joined the golf club recently! The gym itself was lovely and over looked the lake, well air-conned and a decent amount of modern equipment. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were all really nice. The changing rooms were clean, plenty of space and plenty of lockers (requiring £1). A good number of showers with shower gel. They even offer bags to put your wet costume in which is nice. The clubhouse was also nice and overlooked the lake. There is a lovely fireplace which would be lovely in winter. It would make a great birthday party or wedding reception venue. The coffee / hot chocolate were good! Looking forward to my next visit!

Enjoyed a tasty lunch here with my fam, we all had different salads which came up quickly and were very tasty. Great value for money and well worth a visit to the comfortable club house.

I have been a member of this club for several years now and do not understand how or why there are any poor reviews? The receptionists are always smiley, helpful and friendly (i have normally forgotten/lost my pass and they are always quick to help!), the barstaff are chatty and accommodating as are the PTs in the gym. Yes, the popular classes can fill up quickly, fair enough and the restaurant is not Michelin Star however use of words such as 'Appalling' and 'Expensive' are really not justified. Some people obviously just like to find fault – perhaps they should draw breath, look in a mirror and worry about their own little lives before they cast aspersion on others?

Appauling .Very expensive and not worth the money Lots of classes offered but can rarely get into the classes . Have to book at 6.30am 6 days before the class (when booking opens) to get a place in the popular classes . Rarely a member of staff on the gym floor to answer questions or sort out problems with new code system to activate cardio machines.

My friends and I are regular users of the slinfold G&C club and were recently excited by the prospect of an update to facility’s in the gym. Unfortunately we have been left disappointed and showed at the lack of thought that has gone into it and there is in fact less equipment than before. The reception staff are generally rude and the manager doesn’t answer emails. Management only seem to be interested in new members and most complaints go unanswered. All members had to pay do the time the gym was closed for the refit even though they lost a weeks usage! The membership is expensive and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The only good thing I will say is all the Personal trainers are nice but unfortunately they were not allowed any input into the gyms refit and it was left down to the club managers who don’t even train. It’s a shame as it’s a nice place let down by lack of thought and some rude staff.

I booked this venue in August for me and my friends Christmas Party there was 10 of us 5 women and 5 men. It was the first time having a party in a tipi and it sounded like fun. Some of our husbands were a bit worried about the sharing platter starters, but when they arrived there was plenty, we asked for more bread rolls and they came straightaway.The staff were lovely. The main course of Christmas turkey dinner was delicious and again there was lots of food. A great disco finished the night of beautifully.

We booked a Tipi Christmas Party for our staff. On arrival they had only set up for the shared venue for 36 instead of 45 guests, but no worry they squeezed everyone in, even up against the sloping tipi walls. The event was clearly over booked and/or someone had just been a little greedy with numbers. Don't be fooled by the photos, guests are crammed in. If you were lucky you were in the tropical heat of the air blowers, but just 2mm to the left or right of that firing line you were shivering in the cold. The event started at 7pm with food served at 8pm, or so we thought! Lukewarm food finally made it to our tables in fits and starts just before 10pm. We never saw the tea, coffee & mints. What promised to be a novel Christmas party simply did not deliver in quite the right way, hence the 'never again' !!

I have been here several times for different events. Without doubt the club house is a lovely and comfy room but what lets this place down is the standard of the food.My soup arrived luke warm. The portion was so small - the bowl was huge but on closer inspection it was very shallow. A few mouthfuls and the soup had gone. This is fairly typical of my experiences here. Pretty average food at higher than they should be prices.

I was fortunate enough to be given a gift voucher to use at the clubs spa. I booked a half an hour appointment. I brought my two very well behaved children with me. One of which is a responsible 12 year old. I was told they were not allowed to wait quietly for me in the Spa reception nor were they allowed in the club house unaccompanied. Despite this the children had been in the club house drinking a hot chocolate and sitting quietly in a corner not disturbing other members, not acting inappropriately or being a nuisance to anyone. I was later "dressed down by the receptionist" for having my children there. The sister club to Slinfold club will allow children of 12 in the gym. Does provide workout sessions to 12 year olds and are very accommodating. Slinfold were quite happy to take my money in the club house and buy over priced nibbles for my children but don't have the graciousness to permit them to sit alone for a short period of time? I agree with the comments left by a previous reviewer about the receptionist. Other factors were the bar staff chatting about whether a waitress should/could go home and leaving me waiting to be served. Advising Spa staff that I had a gift voucher only to be told after my appointment that I was expected to use the whole voucher in one go BUT they don't have any treatments that add up to the voucher amount and being told that I'd have to spend beyond my vouchers worth! I won't be going to this country club again. They were simply unhelpful rude and rather full of their own importance.

The food here is pretty average unfortunately. The burgers where over cooked ( was not even asked how we would like them) and a sandwich with chicken was in very dry brown bread and not overly appetising. The breakfast we had the next day was better than dinner but quite expensive for what it was. Suggest if you go, stick to swimming, gymming and golfing. Oh and if you have child and you want to take him or her swimming or into the gym, keep a copy of the club rules on you. We were forced to leave early one weekend from the gym, despite the fact that the club policy said children at the weekend could use the gym until 6pm. Very very snotty receptionist who was not even vaguely apologetic when queried later about the issue. Considering the price of this gym, they are petty and overly officious and not even remotely friendly. That's why we have decided NOT to renew and to take our business elsewhere. I'm sure they won't miss us but we sure as hell won't miss them and their abominable behaviour. You have been warned !!! Shame really as it could be lovely...

We love the food here and have eaten here several times. We really like the menu and the setting, overlooking the lovely gold course. The staff are always very attentive and polite,

I have been a member of Slinfold health club & spa for many years.I feel this is the best, local health club not mentioning even their beautiful golf ours ever.Health club offers a range of services such as function, charity event, standard dining at any time, competition events, various treatments and of course professional trainers to help/guide you!Club is located in most beautiful soundings, peaceful and full of nature. All staff is wonderful and very supportive.The only one minus I can think of is overcrowded spa and gym area in a peak times. There is a limited spaces of members that any club can accommodate therefore going over that number and signing in new members where there is no space makes every one else uncomfortable and leads other members to leave. This isn't appropriate and should be evaluated.Money is not everything but sometimes it feels like the club trying very hard to sign in more and more people in order to become members even though there is no more space left for them to comfortably use the spa or gym.

As one of us is recovering from a knee operation we had not had a chance to visit our local golf club for several months. It was a good choice as the new menu and the food were very good. Service as usual was excellent

We had occasion to visit this lovely setting for a tasting event, organised by head chef Mark Young. The food was not only delicious, the presentation was exceptional. The staff were attentive and helpful and the ambiance was very warm.Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to try something new!
