Slice in Chelmsford

I shop regularly here and food is great but the customer service has dropped dramatically i tried telephoning through an order and got cut off twice then the person who i was speaking to decided to start taking another order from someone inn the shop i found this really rude. I will not be going back as bad service has made me not want to go back

Another great lunch. This little place does great wraps and sandwiches. Service is good and its a busy little place. Try the texas barbeque wrap.

For the second day running - items paid for not included. Appreciate they're busy but come on guys get a grip!!!!!!!!!!

Adjacent to Essex County Council,the Market and Chelmsford library - its well situated, for breakfast, lunch and snacks.A good range of food, all freshly made, great coffee, you can sit inside or out. Pre ordering is available if you're in a rush, pity more cafe's don't do this.

I have been going there most days since it opened. Good service, food & excellent coffee whch actually tastes like coffee. Thoroughly recommended.

Slice are reliable. I call first to order my breakfast and it’s always waiting ready for me to collect.

I stop here for lunch most days. Service is always with a smile and the staff always make me feel welcome. They have a huge selection of items to choose from and even if you cannot see it on the menu they will most likely make it for you. Service is also always quick and the food is lovely. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere nice for lunch/breakfast.

Gearing up for the lunch time rush the people who work here looked after me well, even when I ordered a take away and wanted to sit in!

This place is delicious for the food and for the location as well! Fast and very kind personal you can have traditional English breakfast all day!!!

This place is convenient if you work at county hall but otherwise it's not worth the bother. Boring so so hot drinks choices which lacks variety - so no chi tea latte etc. Average biscuits and cakes and not much selection. Sometimes they have a good soup on and salads are okay. This week even toast can't be spread properly with a small blob in the middle and dry everywhere else. Some of the workers can be moody and a bit rude. Nice to sit outside if you work at county hall so can't travel further easily.

Been here once, its clean, people are helpful, with a sense of humour and the coffee and cakes are excellent too.

Occasionally pop in here for lunch. They have a wide selection of sandwiches and they taste great (handmade with thick cut bread), they also offer some really nice Suub/wraps and bagels. Staff were polite and friendly and service was very speedy. Only drawback would be that this place is quite pricey. I don't mind paying extra to support local businesses, but at almost £4 per sandwich, it isn't something I could afford regularly. For coffee & cake though, this places offers great value for money. Overall a great little spot for lunch or a quick coffee.

Stopped in here to buy a sandwich before catching my bus home. They have a mouthwatering selection of fillings so spoilt for choice. Everything is made to order. Desserts look delicious. Would come here again

An interesting menu of light bites, but I usually drop in for a coffee away from busy hours. Friendly, usually quick, service, good prices. Does what it says on the tin.

We always make a point of calling here for a coffee and a slice of their wonderful cake - try the 'caramel heaven', it's superb! Coffee is always freshly made and very tasty. Prices are very reasonable and the service is brilliant. Highly recommend this place, but be warned it does get busy at times, well worth a wait though.

Good Coffee, when finally prepared. My order was first lost, then found, then done incorrectly, and then overcharged. No apology, no explanation. Very busy, but come on now.

They have a good selection of sandwiches and snacks. I chose a filled bagel which they made up fresh for me and a coffee. I am very very fussy when it comes to coffee Nice and hot, strong tasting but not that awful brewed taste coffee.

when the order is correct then all is well and i am happy, i would would highly recommend.

I have decaf skinny latte and granary toast every weekday morning and the team don't even ask me now, they know their regular customers and I'm always greeted with a smile, even at 7.30 in the morning. Thank you to Wayne and his super crew, keep up the good work.

Visit most days for my lunch, lot of variety and good quality food, can get busy. Easy to pop in for just a drink or food. Staff very friendly.

Great for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks. My breakfast was tasty and very reasonably priced. Excellent choice available with the addition of ready made if you need to buy and go.The sit-in area is small, but there are outside tables also. The staff are very friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. Once tried you'll be back for more ! I will.

Visit Slice most days for a coffee before work. Always good service and very friendly staff. Food is always fresh and tasty. Well worth a visit.

Really nice place to have a little lunch. Go there almost every week for lunch. Lots of choice, and the staff are really friendly.........try it out!

Great soup all year round, pretty much anything you want in a sandwich or salad. Tiny inside eating area but some outside too, gets v busy lunchtimes but you can call in an order!

I eat something from here most days, often both breakfast & lunch, as it's very conveniently located close to my office.

I have come to Slice for some time now and I have really enjoyed the food I have purchased from there - either from toast/bacon sandwich in the morning to a salads/bagels at lunch time. It is also very popular place with my colleagues and yes it can get busy and the service can understandably be slow at times. However, they do offer a far better selection of sandwiches than places that sells them pre-packaged and their salads are imaginative and delicious. They are also happy to undertake variations, which is a bonus for me.

Nothing to set the world on fire, but clean, fresh and a bit different. Worth a visit if Pret-fatigue has jaded one's lunchtime enthusiasm for eating sandwiches away from the office.

Slice used to be busy, buzzing, lively, friendly and QUICK! They now seem to have employed drab boring and very very slow staff. The coffees are a one-size-fits-all affair, while all the chains like Starbucks (hate them!) and Pret A Manger (love them but they're expensive) make your coffee exactly how you want. Slice SHOULD be able to do this, but getting the right order even seems a challenge. The number of times I've gone in and just given up waiting while someone wanders around slowly making each single cup of tea.

Great place for a sandwich, hot baguette or bagel. All freshly made, great selection & quick service.

Popped in here, to grab a coffee. Was the only customer in there, and the person behind the counter was trying to open a box of sugar packets with a pair of scissors as I walked up to the counter.
