Great place to eat with a relaxed atmosphere. Would 100% recommend and would recommend booking to not be dissapointed as always seems busy.

Thoughtful and contemporary English local seasonal cuisine, served with a warm welcome by Erina and her team. For people who care about food, Skylark is easily the best brunch, lunch and dinner restaurant in Eastbourne.

I've been visiting my fam in Eastbourne for 40 years, just had one of my *favourite* **ever** breakfasts here: Turkish Eggs: garlic & herb Greek yoghurt, saute greens, harissa oil, soft poached free range eggs, with toasted rosemary foccacia, crispy onions, pomegranate seeds. Combination was exquisite.

Deservedly one of the best places to eat in Eastbourne. Fresh, locally sourced, interesting menus, great staff…so accommodating if you need to change something on the menu, fab coffee, brilliant roasts, nice surroundings. Even though it’s madly popular, you are never rushed. It’s my favourite place for coffee, cake, brunch, lunch, evening or Sunday meals and situated in such a nice part of town, full of independent shops…and a wealth of charity shops too!

Always enjoy coming here with family for brunch. Nice atmosphere as well as food.

This is a lovely little restaurant. The good is excellent and they do some lovely cocktails. I have had brunch here a few times and it has always been good and it is excellent if you are veggie. I have also had the Sunday roast and a Christmas evening meal here. On every visit the food as been very good. The staff are friendly and attentive.

We stayed in Eastbourne for a weekend and found this little gem. We were greeted by the friendly staff and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious - we ordered a full English, eggs Royale, a pot of loose tea and organic chai latte with reishi which I strongly recommend 👌 The best thing is that Skylark works with independent producers, so the quality of products is guaranteed ✨

A rather underwhelming experience considering the hype. I had a steak sandwich which was made with supermarket sliced bread. I expected more for £17. The lunch menu and service are rather average. While they might be trying, it is not as good as it could be.

Excellent, precise dinner cooking from a reassuringly short, locally-sourced menu. Good wine list, too. Lunch comes highly recommended from friends but unfortunately not tried myself yet - menu looks great. Even the toasted teacake this morning is noticeably good.

Had a lovely meal (full English breakfast) today with very nice coffees and tea. The only slightly disappointing thing would have been paying £2 for black pudding but we were only given one slice. Overall though we had a very good time with impeccable service and a nice meal so we didn't mind. Will be coming back on our next visit in Eastbourne.

Skylark is my favourite cafe in Eastbourne. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are friendly and accommodating!

We were given a gift voucher for Sunday lunch as a present. However we received a separate service charge bill. Food okay but can't see us going back again.

Delicious dinner. Great British season food, with great local ingredients (the venison was amazing!). Cozy and relaxed ambiance. Highly recommended!

A small but creative menu making the most of Sussex produce. The vegetarian and vegan options were all delicious. Great house wine. Excellent service. And a real bonus: hearing aid wearers can enjoy their meal AND a conversation at the quiet window tables!

I've dined here before for Brunch and for Sunday roasts with friends, this time it was a Friday evening supper. Skylark sets a high bar and lived up to expectations again. It's such a pleasure to come to a restaurant where the hosts really care about the food they serve & the service is friendly, prompt and discreet. Such a good little restaurant. Thank you Skylark!

Treated my friend to lunch for her 70th birthday. Lovely little independent restaurant, busy but not noisy, with a congenial atmosphere. We both had Friday 'fish and fizz'. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the mushy peas were made from fresh or frozen peas rather than marrowfat peas. The 'fizz' was a generous glass of good quality sparkling wine. We finished with affogato. All excellent. Friendly staff.

During our long weekend stay in Eastbourne, this was the best food we had!! Tasty breakfast options at a reasonable price.

A friend was in town and so wanted to treat her to a really nice Sunday roast. We have been several times before (for the Sunday roast) and once again they did not disappoint. The food (main course and puddings) were absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly and efficient during the busy service.

Excellent place for breakfast/brunch and (from the look of it) a Sunday roast. Small place, very popular unsurprisingly. Attentive welcoming staff, great food. Pancakes with seasonal fruit (right now cinnamon apples) delicious, as was vegan brekkie and toasted banana bread ditto.

Table booked for 4 for breakfast. Two of us had the pancakes; one avocado and egg; 1 eggs benedict. We were all happy with our choices. Excellent service. This is my second visit and will be coming again.

Now that’s a well run place. Excellent service food and atmosphere. 4 generations of family. Best eggs Benedict served on a homemade hash brown. Pulled gammon and perfect eggs. Couldn’t have done it better myself. Loved it here snd will definitely return.

Decent vegan roast although a shame that there isn't a substitute for cauliflower cheese or Yorkshire puddings yet you still pay the same price.

We have been eating at the Skylark for several years and over that period it has never once disappointed on the two most difficult challenges for any restaurant to maintain consistency with: customer service and creative cuisine. Keep it up!

Absolutely heavenly. We so wished we lived closer. All the staff make you feel like they have just been waiting for you to arrive,so welcoming. The food is completely outstanding. Cocktails perfect. Could not fault it at all. Phenomenal choice and cooked to perfection. It was my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary and they we given a brownie with candle and a cocoa “Happy anniversary” The surroundings are perfect. Can’t wait for a return visit.

Having been here a couple of times for an excellent breakfast, we thought we'd try the evening dinner. Pleased to say the food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. Very popular so booking advised.

Needed a late night coffee - popped out for a walk to grab this as it was recommended by friends in the area. Skylark did not disappoint - went with an oat flat white and wish I stayed for two. I took this to go but loved the ambiance inside will definitely dine in next time and 100% will be back next time I’m in town.

Amazing food and really friendly staff

Visited this morning after finding this cafe on Tripadvisor. They were taking reserved bookings today, but although they were very full they managed to find us a table in the lovely courtyard Garden. So pleased that we got a table as we had Egg Benedict with ham on a bubble and squeak cake and it was one of the best breakfasts that we have ever had. The staff were delightful and friendly. Specials thanks to the chefs, you are fantastic!

The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with a pleasant calm atmosphere and the staff is lovely and attentive. We got served great food with the highlight being the mango and cucumber cooler mocktail which was fantastic💚🧡 Only downside was the two or three small pieces of forest mushrooms that accompanied the juicy, delicious chicken. If you put it on the menu make sure you can notice it’s there. Otherwise flawless. Happy days☀️☀️☀️

We regularly attend the Eastbourne Devonshire Park tennis event and after a trek into the town having (finally) found somewhere to park the car, we chanced upon ‘Skylark’ as a very convenient venue close to the ground which offered an enticing choice of breakfast/brunch options particularly for Veg/Vegan and GF. The restaurant is tastefully set out within an airy space inside although there is a hidden rear garden/yard which was an excellent setting for an early morning, unhurried treat. The food was carefully prepared and well presented in very timely order; service was relaxed and similarly unhurried. Clearly a good choice of venue as the Grove road location is a lively thoroughfare although removed from the immediacy of the town centre. We found the prices to be competitive and menu choices extensive. The iced coffee options were particularly refreshing on what was already a warm morning. Nice too that at least a couple of known tennis ‘names’ had also chosen this as a quiet venue away from the glare of publicity, which made for some intrigue and glamour - bringing the relevance of this modest eatery right up-to-date for the annual event a short distance away. Heartily recommended as catering for all tastes and very much a cut above just another breakfast cafe venue.

8 of us dined for our wedding anniversary. We had visited in the lead up to Xmas 2023 and were very impressed. Sadly this time it was average. The flavours were just not there. The sirloin steak was disappointing, the mushroom lacked flavour and the chips were so soft. Everyone expects crispy chips. To be fair, desserts were nice and presentation of all food was great.

We came for breakfast, greated warmly, calmly and taken to the courtyard area downstairs. Some dappled sunshine, campanula growing beautifully down the walls, Just as was thought we should order, our friendly, attentive, waitress arrived and just as we thought it was time to eat, she arrived with our food. Luke (my fiancé) gave his veggie breakfast, with extra side of crisp roast potatoes, a very fine "twelve out of ten, best breakfast ever!". The sausages in my Full English were succulent, bacon crispy, yokes runny, everything seasoned to perfection. Lovely, fresh, seasonal smoothy. All reasonably priced. Excellent quality, friendly, all well done. Top points! Really something to be proud of. Thank you.

Lovely food with varied menu and fair prices. Great location within walking distance of the town centre. Very friendly staff coupled with a wine list that includes local vineyards. Highly recommended.

A delicious breakfast comprising of the Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Sundae was enjoyed and service from very friendly and helpful staff, where nothing is too much trouble, was fantastic. We highly recommend and will be returning again soon post completing the Eastbourne Park Run.

It is rare for me to leave a full 5 star review but this place is extraordinary. Not only is the welcoming smile from the staff a relaxing change, the food delivers a full taste experience. All prices are reasonable and you will leave with a great food experience. A must have for any breakfast or brunch!

This was our first visit, we felt really welcomed, the menu was simple and perfect, the food was amazing and I love how it is all local and felt really fresh. It was a lovely and relaxing and I would highly recommend.

We had a great brunch at Skylark. It is a very relaxed space, tasteful and with plenty of space and light. Great food, lovely service and we loved that the produce was all locally sourced. We'd definitely recommend it.

A favourite of ours and also of friends whenever we have guests from London. A wonderful light and friendly restaurant with beautifully cooked produce from Sussex and surrounding area. We loved the seasonal asparagus and crispy perfectly egg and also the special of hake, mussels and prawns in a tomato bisque. We enjoyed every mouthful. With just some room for the lemon panna cotta with berries..and also fruitcake and cheese. Matched with a lovely wine menu that includes local Sussex wines.. we can’t wait to return.

Second time there for a Sunday roast and what a great addition to Eastbourne it is. Quality food, a good wine selection, and most of all just a very pleasant atmosphere.

Went here for a bit of breakfast. We were welcomed with friendly staff. The food was delicious, clean facilities and lots of choice of food and drink on the menu at reasonable prices. They have gluten-free options, too! Will definitely be visiting again.

Perfect place for brunch - classy simple interior, perfectly cooked food, good coffee and friendly, professional service. We went before popping next door to Hampsons for an afternoon of beauty treatments… it was the perfect “preamble”. The whole day was Eastbourne at its best!

Lunch menu on bank holiday Monday was a bit sparse so ordered off the brunch menu. Wife had eggs Royale and I plumped for the stack of three pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Plenty of Salmon with the eggs Royale and the pancakes were nice. Just disappointed that the lunch menu was so poor.

We have always enjoyed the ambience, service and menu choice a Skylark. Our visit this time left us disappointed. The cafe was busy and the tables seemed very crammed together, and it was very noisy. We thought the menu was more limited but opted for one roast, two full English breakfasts and an Eggs Benedict. The roast was piled onto the plate so not very appetising, the poached eggs on the Eggs Benedict were hard and cold, toast wasn’t toasted so had to be sent back and the bubble and squeak was soggy. The full English breakfasts eggs were over cooked and the food was luke warm. I’m not sure what’s happened to change things at Skylark but we wouldn’t rush back.

We were in Eastbourne for an overnight stay and wanted to eat somewhere with an informal atmosphere but excellent food and Skylark fitted the bill nicely. The mackerel pate starter was particularly delicious and the scallops were also very tasty. We enjoyed our main courses (Dover sole and vegan "Wellington") but sadly the rhubarb dessert we wanted had run out. When we got our bill the cost of the tea and coffee we had in lieu of dessert had been deducted, which was a nice gesture.

We stumbled across this gem and we are so glad we did. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself was pretty and cosy, the menu had a great selection and options for different dietary requirements. We ordered the pancakes and eggs on avocado and when I say the pancakes were like heaven they really were, even felt the need to let the chef know! Would definitely visit again.

Tried Skylark for the very first time today. Absolutely cracking full English breakfast. All of it tasted great, especially the sausage and black pudding. Really friendly staff and great atmosphere. Maybe my only slight gripe would be the high prices, especially for coffees. Flat white very small and £3.40! Having said that, will be back for sure. Lovely place.

I enjoyed an absolutely delicious vegetarian Sunday roast with my family last Sunday. The mushroom wellington was one of the best I have had. Would definitely like to come again next time I am visiting Eastbourne!

A small restaurant with a nice and calm atmosphere. Friendly owner/staff and an well thought out menu. I had a vegetarian dish with cauliflower, chard and spinach. It came like a little artwork, nicely done and mixed with herbs, tomato and other veggies. All together one of the best places I could find in Eastbourne.
