Used to love this place. Have recently had a change of management and food quality is not so good. Front of house are excellent but choice of food is not so good and is not so palatable. We used to love the tea cakes but recently you could break your teeth on them they are do hard and chewy. Such a shame as coffee is good and outlook over airfield and nearby downs is wonderful

Called for lunch, midweek. The location is fantastic with great views of the airfield and the parachute jumps that are run nearby. The place was exceptionally busy, and the food wait was very long, so had a soft drink and crisps instead. Would return, hopefully when quieter!

The staff were really friendly and initially told us the wait for food would be 1 hour but, thank you to them for getting the food out to us within 20 mins. I wonder if their rush to get food out meant that the chips weren’t particularly hot, the burger was literally a burger in a bun and both the sandwiches and beefburger were missing the advertised side salad and coleslaw? The sausage sandwich and chilli nachos were really good. The service was good and hopefully if we do visit again all the food would be to the standard we were expecting. Again, the staff were lovely - really helpful and friendly and must have just caught them on a busy day in the kitchen.

I cannot praise the staff enough at this cafe. My husband is coeliac, they were so clued up, checked ingredients of the chilli with the chef, wiped all surfaces down. The food was delicious and very good value for money. Thank you to all the staff for making our experience of having lunch out so stress free 😀

Another amazing breakfast at the sky cafe 👍 what can I say: I just spent the last 6 weeks in Finland and all I could think about was coming home for a alfresco breakfast here!! (No joke!) so lucky to have this place within walking distance.

Another fantastic breakfast, cooked to perfection and so reasonable. The staff are so friendly and it’s brilliant being able to watch the skydivers as they take off and land. The cakes are always delicious, this is our 5th visit and I can honestly say the breakfasts are the best I’ve had at a restaurant/cafe. It was busy but we didn’t have to wait long for our food. I don’t understand the bad reviews but each to their own. Honestly this place is worth a visit and we are so lucky this place is local to us. We will definitely be returning very soon

Admittedly the place was busy with Sky Diving activities, but many tables weren't getting cleared despite staff seemingly being stood around twiddling thumbs - to get a table I had to clear one myself - not a good start - food (Full English] eventually arrived but some of it was luke warm and the coffee was insipid - a poor example of a good English breakfast

My husband and I visited early this morning after seeing a shared post on Facebook. We received a warm welcome and once we'd ordered, I was pleased to also be offered a discount as we live in the area. The food was great, especially enjoyed the sausages! Because of the hard frost we'd had overnight, the cafe was a bit cold so we had to eat quickly but it was really lovely. Very good value for money, even at full price (£10 for a full English breakfast and a drink) The frosty wintry views over the airfield were lovely, and there's plenty of parking. Very easy to find. Will definitely be back!

Just left from my visit to skies, thought it would be rude not to have a coffee and a cake on this beautiful Wednesday afternoon. I was greeted at the gates by a very charming young man, I think his name was Bradley, or Jaden, I don’t remember! Anyhoo, I had a salted caramel cake and a latte - shame there was no syrups to go with it! The cake was absolutely gorgeous and Bradley certainly knows his way around a coffee maker! The only downside was the inside of the cafe was an absolute furnace! I’ll be sure to sit outside and gaze at the terrific views the airfield has to offer!

We decided that we would walk from home to the airfield, have a coffee and walk home. A great plan, until we arrived at the cafe. It wasn’t its usual full to capacity, so we sat down after ordering a Chicken pie for me, a Hot Cross bun for her ladyship. She who must be obeyed also requested hot chocolate and I ordered a coffee. The lady who served us had obviously had a very busy and stressful morning as she seemed to be in a bad mood, the two staff making the coffee and hot chocolate seemed to be preoccupied with something or another. My pie was placed on a plate and I was huskily told that cutlery was on the tables. I cut into my pie, which came from a warming cabinet and discovered that the warming cabinet contained only a light bulb and no heating element. My wife’s Hot Cross bun was delivered quite forcefully onto the table, it was hot with two packs of butter, her hot chocolate arrived slightly before this. We visit the cafe many times during the year and I’m quite disappointed with today’s experience. I’m hoping that this was a one off and that normal service will resume shortly!

Myself and the king of Fast food Pork Pie Sam visited here just over a year ago and had one of the best burgers ever!!! But I’m not sure what the hell has happened since then?Went here today with DMac and Hong Kong and experienced quite possibly the worst breakfast ever!!!To be fair the breakfast came out supper fast in-fact probably to fast because the beans stone cold Steve Austin! The bread was so thin I don’t think it was even Tesco Value and the butter was like syrup by the time it got to us.Not sure if the eggs where fried, toasted or poached? But they was very odd Probably put in the microwave I recon!Menu said tomatoes, so presumed grilled unfortunately they were tinned plum tomatoes and ended up having soup for breakfast.Bacon looked like it need resuscitating it was a shrivelled mess. And the sausage!!! Well I’ve had meatier sausages in a baked bean can they where astronomically the worst sausages I have ever tasted in my life!!!Not sure if the burgers are still amazing but somebody seriously needs to sort out the breakfasts.

A group of us had lunch on a cold and rainy day so they weren’t busy and maybe should have tried a bit harder to impress the few customers they did get?I ordered a “gourmet burger’ with Halloumi cheese and bacon. Ok five minutes later they admitted they had run out of halloumi but the first more worrying thing was the slight confusion when someone else in the group received their order and it didn’t seem to match what they were expecting. The person delivering the food said “your mistake not ours”, which doesn’t exactly give you a warm feeling, regardless of whose fault it really was. Then my burger arrived and looked distinctly un-gourmet like. Hang on, there wasn’t even a burger !The guy at the counter (who had English as a second language) explained that he had given me what he thought I had asked for (and charged me accordingly). Didn’t seem interested in remedying the misunderstanding or even apologising. I was tired and didn’t argue any further, given the attitude of the previous Fawlty Towers person serving. The food? Well it was two rashers of bacon and some Brie in a pappy soft white roll. Won’t be going back, I shudder to think how bad it would be when busy.

Asked for a ham sandwich for my Daughter. The child behind the counter said they didnt do ham sandwichs. I pointed out that they had ham, egg and chips on the menu and that I would pay full price if they could also do me a couple slices of bread. The little boy said they dont do bread. The toast on the menu was for breakfast and they couldnt serve me breakfast because it finished 10 minutes ago, the burger buns were for burgers only and they would only do the panini they had and refused to make anything eles. I had to pay for two meal a burger and ham egg and chips and throw away the burger meat and the egg, just so my daughter could have a ham sandwich.Avoid if you can! If you are going skydiving bring your own food.Food was awful when it turned up as well.

A small change but definitely a much welcomed one, a new menu.Skies cafe have always excelled with their burgers but with the added build your own burger it's took it to a new level. Lots off scrumptious topping to be enjoyed from a hot and spicy jalapeño to a tasteful slice of halloumi. It really is a hidden secret this place. With friendly helpful staff makes it a really treat. And if your up earlier enough try their English breakfast 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, beans or tomatoes and a slice of toast or go for the naughty option of fried bread and a cup of rose Lee (tea) or coffee for a brilliant price of £5. Absolute bargain.
