Six By Nico Canary Wharf in Tower Hamlets

Really fun night doing the Trust 5 course tasting menu. What really made the experience for us was our waiter Parina who went above and beyond to make sure that we were having a good night. Very lovely person and hard working. Explained all the dishes in a fun and energetic way. I had been stressed about something else before I came in and she immediately put me at ease.

We went for tasting menu. Now 2 hours after being seated we are still only 4 courses in and 2 to go. Very disappointing. If you want a 3 hour meal would be fine as food ok.

We saw the Amalfi Coast £30 lunch offer and decided to book it. The Good : The Service : The staff are very good and attend to you immediately. They made good recommendations and explained the tasting menu well and overall they were really friendly and accommodating so 10/10. The Flavour : The flavour of the food is exceptional. Between us we had the Parmesan polenta, heirloom tomato, black spaghetti, trio of pork and the lemon dessert. All of them had distinctive flavours and were delicious and left you wanting more. The Atmosphere : The restaurant is a good size and you can see the servers preparing the food. It’s not too loud and the decor is sleek and comfortable. The good but not as good : The Portions : The dishes are delicious but really do leave your wanting more. The polenta starter is an ok size but when it came to the mains, the trio of pork is similar in size to 4 small pieces of chicken on a chicken satay and could certainly do with being a bit bigger. On the plus side, you won’t gain weight from the meal so it’s not the end of the world! Drinks : The drinks are all delicious though a bit pricey at around £14 a drink though I guess that’s expected in Central London. Standout Dish : Delizia Al Limone - Lemon Mousseline, Polenta Cake, Caramelised White Chocolate, Yoghurt Sorbet …. It’s one of the most delightful desserts I’ve ever had! I went for the Greek menu with wine pairing. The food was actually mostly good. But I think that was because the Mexico menu we had the month before was so bad that my expectations were correctly set for this menu. There was some interesting flavours nice combinations. It was fine. I really enjoyed the first course the lamb Ragu and there were some other dishes which were nice. I remember a chicken dish being a little dry but otherwise broadly speaking the food was fine. The staff were exceptional and they always have been in every six by Nico. super friendly very attentive. just great staff. The wine pairings however were not great. Individually the wines were okay but not that nice when paired with the food. I thought there was a very loose connection with the wine and the food that we were eating, some of them went with an individual ingredient, but as a dish it didn’t really go. Overall, you get six plates of very small very average pieces of food. The wine pairings were not good and the staff were the real highlight. I would definitely prefer to have two courses then six of this. generally it would it just feels like six by Nico needs to change the menu every six months instead of six weeks and think about how everything works together and just produce a better plate of food. I would recommend if you want something nice to instagram, I wouldn’t if you care what you’re eating.

We visited here and advised we had time constraints, as we had to be in Central London, later that evening. We were served in good time but not rushed. The food was amazing, my husband didn't love the fish course, but he doesn't like fish, but I managed to eat his Sea Bass, which was lovely We had great service from the staff and Victoria is such an asset to this venue. We will definitely be back.

We had a really good dinner covering the NY tasting menu with portions still big enough to feel full! Having lived in NY, this provided an interesting take on deconstructing and reconstructing some NY favourites. There were loads of different flavours in each course. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was quite noisy making conversation a challenge though.

This place was great the food was exquisite. Can be busy of an evening and quite loud and hard to hear the waiting staff would come back thou for the food 😁

We were visiting London and had not booked our dinners for each evening. Spotted the Hanoi menu on face book and we were hoping to be able to have that. However, the only slots were very late in the evenings and so we opted for the 10 course "Trust" menu at canary Wharf. We certainly were not disappointed, the food was outstanding. Every course and every mouthful was packed with flavour. Delicious fish, and melt in the mouth belly pork with amazing accompaniments. We did not have the wine pairing option but instead chose a very nice bottle of white. The service was spot on, making for a great atmosphere and a lovely evening. Thank you to "Six by Nico" - we will have the 6 course experience on our bucket list for our next trip to London.

Mimi our waitress was lovely. So friendly and chatty even though she was extremely busy. We had the 10 course Trust taster menu. Most of the food was delicious, a few dishes a little bland and a few dishes that didn’t really work but all in all a really nice experience. Fab atmosphere and good wine :)

Had the Hanoi lunchtime experience with a friend with the wine pairings as a special celebration. I found this to be a fantastic experience from beginning to end in a beautiful restaurant. Food and wine were divine and portions just right. Neil, the waiter was extremely friendly and welcoming - thank you. Would love to return sometime soon.

Really quirky menu and a good little spot for lunch. It can get quite noisy, as it is clearly a very popular venu. It was an enjoyable experience, working our way through the tantalising visual and flavour preparations before us!

We went for the mad hatters-tea party. In Canary Wharf. Our serve Mayank was ace, friendly funny and relaxed. Further more the manager I believe was Victoria picked up on the fact my girlfriend wasn’t a fan of the dessert. We never said anything but she went to the effort and got the chefs to make another desert. Never asked, fantastic and over and above service. Great experience, food was unreal and staff were the absolute best I’ve seen

Thank you, very enjoyable. Suraya was our server, and together with another chap gave us excellent service. Food was very excellent, as was Suraya’s wine knowledge. It was the Funfaor menu and the fish course was our favourite. Extra shout to Suraya who discreetly brought a coke to my partner who was having a hypo. She also brought him a fruit dessert alternative but as a type 1 diabetic he can control with insulin. He really appreciated her thoughfulness even though he had the toffee apple dessert. We will be back!

Josh was a fantastic host! Thanks to all the other members of staff who were amazing. We have thoroughly enjoyed the mad hatters tea party tasting menu with taster wines (white wine heavy). Vibes in the restaurant were fab, lots of hubbub. Great date night! Thanks Six by Nico! My fave: Mad hatters tea party (mushroom tea with cheddar scone). His fave: off with it's head (pork belly)

I chose the Mad Hatters menu and it was fantastic. I loved the flavours and the wines that were matched. Ive done 6 at Nico before but this menu was my fave. Our waitress Amina and also Victoria totally added to the experience by being so fun and lovely..We are comeing back to see you again!!!! x

Service was pretty poor. Forgot part of the order and also forgot one of our table ordered the vegetarian option and brought her a meat dish. Waited to be seated for 20mins (we were early however we had a drinks menu but weren’t offered a drink in that time). Took another 15mins for the drinks once we did order at that table. Took over 20mins to pay at the end due to issue with the card machine and in the end we were asked to pay everything on the card they had on file (less than ideal). Food was lovely but spoilt by the poor / slow service.

FOOD: The vegan menu was unfortunately pretty bad. I accept that vegan food can be a challenge, but I have had some excellent vegan tasting menus before. I think where it fell down was in its attempt to replicate closely the main menu, whereas a different approach is needed for vegan food. For example, the whole thing was veg- no use of any pulses, tofu, nuts, spices. I was given a scone which was bitter from too much bicarb of soda, a bizarre turnip puree seemed to feature in almost every course as a bit of a filler, there was a watery cold celeriac mousse thing which had obviously been inadequately defrosted and did not taste nice, the dessert was frankly inedible- some kind of vegan cheese/ mousse which was again inadequately defrosted, completely tasteless and watery. My friend had the standard menu and thought it was great. SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE: The servers were all lovely and clearly working very hard, however they were completely run off their feet. Many times, the wrong food/course arrived at our table! Also the descriptions of each course were pretty basic and felt learnt, rather than the servers actually having a good understanding of the dishes. There were too many tables crammed in which really detracted from the atmosphere. It did not feel like a 'luxury dining experience' I think the concept is great and I loved the theming of the menu. Also it seems the standard menu is fine. There is great potential. However, they need to up their game for vegan options or not offer a vegan menu at all if they do not have the expertise to do so.

It was our first visit to Six by Nico because we were gifted a voucher. After reading some of the reviews we were quite apprehensive. I can honestly say we had a great time. The food was brilliant and the staff even more so. We were given one of the courses out of order and our waitress could not have been ore apologetic. We were then brought 2 glasses of champagne on the house with another apology. It may have been the particular menu this time but all I can say is that it was delicious and we will be back.

I attended with friends for the street food tasting menu. I think they could potentially do with some more staff, as they were all clearly very busy. However, this didn’t stop them being very attentive. There were a few mishaps with an additional add on not being served with the dish, and one dishes being returned for being cold, however the staff managed this incredibly well and they ensured everything was corrected quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed all the plates and they had good flavour. For the price of the tasting menu, we were very happy with the experience and had a lovely evening. I would return in the future.
