SIX in Brighton and Hove

I’ve been a fan of Six for its good food and service in the past. Unfortunately, my latest visit didn’t quite hit the mark. Service was noticeably slower than usual, with long waits just to order and then for the food to arrive. This isn’t what I’ve come to expect based on my previous experiences. The portion sizes also seemed smaller. While I understand restaurants are facing challenges lately, especially with rising costs and supply issues, it was still disappointing. I hope this feedback is helpful. I know times are tough, and I’m rooting for Six to get back to its usual standards. This version should convey your points more directly while still acknowledging the broader context.

Disappointing - tatty torn chairs, old clothes smell, everything felt a bit grubby - nothing like the photos. Food was also very average. (The purple potatoes were dried out and inedible). Don’t bother.

Had the best time, Kelly and Ava served us and they were so accommodating and friendly. Food was amazing staff were great and we went for bottomless brunch were so quick with refills. Massive thanks to Kelly and Ava for being so lovely!!!!

Six is one of the best branch restaurants I ever been with absolutely fresh ingredients wonderful breakfast and the service is warm and welcoming

A lovely find for a Sunday morning brunch. We hadn’t booked but were greeted warmly and seated quickly. Great range of vegan, veggie and meet options. Staff couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. Great coffee.

We had a family meal for 10 following Graduation Ceremony. We absolutely loved all our meals - so tasty and definitely recommend for flavour, choice and creativity. Thank you all too for your very attentive service. Will see you again soon for another tasty meal.

Avoid! Went for a friends birthday. Food came out cold and raw. I had a burger which was raw. The mother of the birthday girl and one other had the salmon pasta which wasn’t cooked and was sent back. The birthday girl didn’t get her meal until everyone else had finished! We kept asking for it and they said it was coming! Went the food was being delivered to the table the waiters didn’t even know what they had. Instead of saying beef ragu, one of them said, “beef salad something”!! We took a cake to be presented at the end of the meal. The waiter came out with the cake still in its cardboard box!!!!!! The mother of the birthday girl asked if he could take it back and present it properly and he replied “not really”. We at that point decided to leave and take the cake back home. Drinks were also forgotten despite being asked for multiple times. Just overall, a very bad experience. I wouldn’t even return!

Went for a brunch. The food was really disappointing. Hard potatoes and bits missing from the plate(that were on the menu).

Awful, tense experience for a Sunday afternoon. Thought we would pop in for a leisurely late breakfast, alas not to be!! Staff incredibly brisk, slightly rude and superior in approach. Despite knowing they had given me a strong coffee they proceeded to tell me it wasn’t. As a 55yr old, being told I didn’t know my old mind or that I was wrong in my opinion, doesn’t help with the relaxation or ambiance. Food finally arrived but was cold, The stompy floor manager arrived demanding to know if the food was ok, I didn’t fancy more telling off or negativity so we paid and left!! NEVER to return again

Awful long wait on everything- even when you want to pay . Very bad service no one pays attention. Food tasteless- no salt or spices whatsoever. Rude waitress Calamari- £9.50 - loads of tempura courgette and one small peace of Calamari- all tasteless overcooked Stake - ordered medium well - got well done (very well done I would say) when mentioned to waitress she said she will be back - 5min later she came back with exactly the same stake- just cold already. Didn't want to make a big deal as it was my friends birthday so i accepted it . Ice-cream tastes like soap and tiramisu was not edible at all... watery and tasteless . Just popped in for a bite of lunch and ordered two starters. We were really impressed with the quality of the cooking and the presentation. We had Scallops and Bruschetta both were lovely. Will certainly go back for more. We also had coffee and that too was excellent flavour. We ate outside and although a little noisy the atmosphere was very cosmopolitan, We were well served, drinks and food came in a timely manor. The servers we really nice and made sure we were looked after.

Went to SIX for an informal anniversary meal on a Sunday evening. The restaurant itself is decorated in an easy style with appropriate lighting. The staff were approachable, efficient and keen to ensure we had a nice meal. The Squash veloute starter I ordered was tasty and attractively presented, as was my husband’s Burrata ciabatta dish. The mains were just as pretty to look at, the Stone Bass particularly tasty. The wine menu had a good range with a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The blackberry mint cocktail I had was lovely. As we were both well fed, no dessert was needed, despite the dessert menu having some appealing looking dishes. All in all a good experience - recommended.

I’ll start by saying the service was good. The steak was very tough and not enjoyable. A few of us ordered pints of Moretti and it tasted horrible. Couldn’t finish it. The cubicle in the men’s toilets was also in a mess. Overall I think 3 stars is fair.

Absolutely terrible experience. The lady on front of house so rude, barged passed myself and family to take us to our table. The seating was filthy all stained chairs and menus dirty and sticky. We ordered 4 coffee all came out Luke warm. The food was terrible, we order two full English breakfast’s that came out within 4 minutes of order- coke sausages and the bacon was a streak bacon that looked like it had been cook for second. Fatty and pale. No how streaky bacon should be cook. The “fluffy pancakes” were just like a stodgy Yorkshire pudding & again the bacon was not cook as it should be. Was just terrible we left without touching the food. The one thing I will say is the waitresses themselves were lovely & extremely polite- unlike the front of house who gave us a dirty look as we existed. I would NOT recommend. Definitely and “insta vs reality” place!
