Unwelcoming, kurt! Nice place, would benefit from more friendly staff & actually acknowledge customers on entry. Staff far too busy on their phones & then selves…. Would we go back? No, not really, much more welcoming places around & plenty o& them & all offering the same pastries & drinks ….

I just wanted a coffee and a scone. I wasn't expecting a lot, but the coffee blew me away. It is quite rightly award-winning, with its rich, mellow layers of taste. We also had a scone, which was delicious too.

We visited this cafe twice a couple of years ago whilst on a two day break in Harrogate and were quite impressed. To-day we were on a days visit to the town with our 23 year old grandson and thought we would have a return visit. There were no vacant seats outside owing I presume to the sunshine. We were sown to a table at the back, the very back and isituated immediately outside th toilets. Can't say I was too happy but there were no other tables. Menus were brought and we were advised that our order would be taken soon. (We are from Lancashire and maybe a Yorkshire 'soon' has a different meaning to ours). We waited for a good 15 minutes for our order to be taken. No result, so we walked. Had we been seated elsewhere we may well have given it a bit longer. So, regrettably I have no other option than to award a one star; sorry folks. We ended up having starters at ZiZzis where we were dealt with promptly and with courtesy and offered a nice window seat

The food was freshly made and tasty with both Turkish treats and more familiar fare. I purchased two boreks to take away (aubergine and spinach and cheese) and a slice of pumpkin cake. I only wish I'd had more room in my stomach. If I had, I would have bought one of the pistachio brownies and a slice of one of the various types of cheesecake. The couple who run it take pride in their work. Such lovely people and delicious food! I can't wait to go back!

Took my mother for a coffee and pastry, and we will definitely be back. Superbly furnished, convenient location for the bus station, quality produce, and excellent service and attention. This is a great alternative to the usual cafes that are frequented in Harrogate, and it offers first class personal service, and quality food and drinks.

We received pleasant friendly service and enjoyed a nice coffee and hot chocolate. A good selection of cakes to choose from and we were not disappointed with the chocolate fudge cake. The toilets were a little on the basic side.

I didn’t know about this place much considering it’s a cricket ball throw away from the Victoria Shopping centre. However when I went I had a breakfast with a cuppa and it was truly delicious. I would highly recommend.

We arrived with our Chihauau, after googling dog friendly restaurants - upon arrival it looked lovely! Twinkling lights and patio fires gave an impressive first impression. On going in again a lovely reception room with a roaring fire - we were excited! I am vegetarian and was really happy with the risotto of the day option on the specials board - tomato and mushroom. Then we discovered dogs are only allowed in non carpeted areas. This means in a conservatory that despite an industrial looking log burner was a bit chilly and the decor was not in keeping with the main areas. We were really disappointed- the service and food were really good. The menu was limited, we had expected a few specials but the risotto was the only thing - we both opted for that. I think it would be a huge improvement if another area in the main building could be designated for dogs.

We had family visiting and thought it would be good to take them to Knaresborough for breakfast by the river. Our group of 7 has a nice cozy corner and our server was lovely. Sadly our eggs were supposed to be sunny side up but the bottoms of them were brown and crisp. I asked for another 2 eggs but they came out the same way. I was informed that they have to cook them that way for hygiene purposes but if that was they case they would not be able to serve runny yokes. A friend suggested I ask for poached instead but I was told I would have to pay for them since that would be 6 eggs even though I was unable to eat the first 2 sets served to me, I asked to leave it and I would know next time not to order fried eggs. My husband had eggs benedict that said gammon but he was given a slice of cold ham, the sauce was cold as well. On leaving a lady approached me saying she’d heard there had been an issue which I explained. The out come of this conversation was less than satisfying. Our group said after that we would just go somewhere else. I hope others have a better experience than we did.

We have eaten here a few times after walking in the local area. We had a dismal experience at breakfast at the Kings Head close by so we went here as it opened and had a great English breakfast. It was fresh, well served and the pace is a bit quirky but comfortable and you are always made to feel welcome.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
