Great all.round , on return 25-08-24. Grossly understaffed, service ridiculously slow service. Potato skins were good, now awful , mixed grill , was good, now ok, overpriced and small amount of meat

Generally a good dining experience. Excellent steak and ribs available. Early in the week the service can be a bit slow due minimum staffing (budget restraints!!) but staff deal with this efficiently and still with friendliness.

No one serving drinks bar meant to be open, staff nice but understaffed. Ordered 8 plates of sharing stuff, I have family over from America and embarrassed by the presentation quantity and quality of the food, in all my years of catering I never put out one plate of food like that, let alone 8 at the same table, I doubt homeless.people would have eaten it

The staff were very friendly, I enjoyed my dinner, my partner had a problem with his, but it was sorted and he was happy .

After ordering a medium cooked steak, to my surprise i didn't know steak could be so over cooked. But a great big thank you to Karen for sorting out such a poorly cooked dinner.

Waited nearly an hour for our food, when it finally arrived it was wrong and cold. Replacement was acceptable but not great. Won't be returning. Waitress Georgie, tried her best, but kitchen failed her.

Leane was amazing. She’s our normal waitress and she’s welcoming and very chatty. Creates a nice atmosphere and makes sure we have everything we need.

Device was great was a bit Sadden by some of the food that we wanted and not being on the menu but when we did get the food it was amazing. And they was brill with our autistic boys in making sure their food was brought out first 😀

I had the curry with all the trimmings, it was delicious. They were short staffed and only one person covering the bar and waiting on the tables. It was a Monday lunchtime so not very busy. He did a great job but I should imagine if there had been more people in there it might have been a problem. Overall great service with a smile.

Service was poor, beer on tap was so badly watered down, food is very basic and burger was overcooked it hardly tasted of anything and it took so long to come out even though the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. Avoid this place and walk down the road to the poppyfields, much better restaurant

Great service from our waitress but food wasn’t good and the price was high for the standard. The pub was also beginning to look grimy and in need of a refurbishment. The staff were lovely though considering where they have to work

We ate at the Thomas Wyatt beefeater and enjoyed a very nice meal. Our waitress, Carol was polite, friendly and efficient. Our meals and drinks were served promptly and the quality of food was very good.

Came to stay at the Premier Inn for two nights and had breakfast here both mornings. Catherine and Jacqueline were both very attentive despite being rushed off their feet as all tables were full and had diners in the bar. Great service and will come again

Came tonight for a meal and can honestly say I am left very disappointed. Not enough staff even tho the restaurant wasn't very busy and the waitress was sniffing constantly as in every 2..3 seconds the food was OK but nothing special for the Cost of it and the service wasn't great either. Will not be rushing back to visit not great value for money and was 2 hours for a family of 4

Although a good selection of food for the continental breakfast the cooked breakfast was poorly presented and overcooked. We were unfortunately sat next two two tables of badly behaved children who's parents let them run around shouting and playing as if in a playground. It ruined our breakfast.

Attended for an elderly family members birthday meal and the staff went above and beyond to make the time as special as possible! The staff were attentive and the food was incredible.

Service was fantastic. Asked for a medium rare 10iz rib eye, but was cooked more well done. Edges very dry and none of the meat was pink. Very disappointed as this is a steak house. Chef should know how to cook a steak.

The team always turned out fantastic food. The chefs were all very chatty and polite, even when they were busy. Waiting staff were very friendly, even keeping up with our banter, which made the whole experience even better. The manager was also helping his staff in peak times, and should be commended for his attention to detail. Overall, a very pleasant stay, thank you guys and girls..!!

Our 2nd visit here was cut short due to overwhelmed staff situation. Eventually shown to our pre-booked table, left with menus and said would return to take our drinks order... 30 minutes later & still no sign of the waiter. Could see the other tables were also looking at their watches, obviously we weren't the only ones. Decided to leave at that point, unfortunately, just as the waiter was approaching our table. Didn't want to have to wait ages for our meals so we abandoned our visit. A real shame as our 1st experience here a few months ago was great. Apparent staffing issues I'm guessing...☹️

Very friendly staff, Very good breakfast, clean and pleasant.

Booked for breakfast half an hour before I arrived. Was told we could sit but if we wanted cooked breakfast there was a long wait. Another customer told us they had been waiting an hour plus. Staff didn't have a clue how long the wait would be. They clearly couldn't cope. Seems stupid they let us book shortly before we arrived if they could not handle things. First and last time at Beefeater!

Great breakfast this morning. Love the freshly cooked food, so much better than the buffet style seen in other beefeaters.

Servered by Ben on a Friday evening, mainly writing this for the waiter Ben he was a pleasant and friendly. Ben looked like he enjoyed his job and has made our visit a great experience. Thank you Ben!

Food was absolutely perfect and full of flavour. I was served by Karen who greeted me with a lovely smile, her knowledge of the menu is exceptional and she made sure my every need was attended to. I will definitely be returning judtnfor the service alone really an amazing member of staff.

I have a blue light card and regularly go into the Sir Thomas Wyatt to use it for its discount and Beefeater reward points. Every time I visit, both the bar and restaurant staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. In the past few weeks, all food has arrived swiftly and hot. The waiting time for drinks has never been longer than 5 minutes, even during busy periods.

Despite full capacity, staff were as fast as they could be and retained smiles and humour. Nice experience.

For my son's 16th birthday 🎂 it was a fabulous dinner

We spent 4 days at the hotel using this restaurant for breakfast. The first few days they seemed short staffed and the breakfast was cold. It seemed everything but the bacon had been in the deep fryer was burnt but cold black pudding was soggy it had absorbed so much oil and there were no pastries available for the children by 8.30. This was inconvenient as I was not sure if the calories in the food on the plate correlated to calorie information that was in the menu from the way it was cooked. The last day we were there the food was hot and delicious with more choice. The waiting staff were fabulous each morning polite and attentive.

A lovely meal, attentive waiter let down by the lack of staffing, hence only 4/5, however I will certainly eat here again.

Eat as much as you like breakfast. Cooked food is ordered and was overcooked and dry. Sausage more like chipolatas.

Managed to get in for Mothers day. Good service, nice food and not too expensive. We will come back here.

Food was what you would expect. I had steak which was mostly gristle and fat. Service was excellent tho, saved the evening thanks to a very warm and friendly couple of people working there.

Had beer battered fish & chips...the fish & peas were fine...but there was approximately 8 chips...they were supposed to be "triple cooked" according to the menu...every one I ate was half cooked...NOT even fully let alone triple! Left the last 2...only ate what I did because I had driven hours today & had been busy doing things so hadn't eaten all day...no point in complaining as they were very short staffed in the bar & it wouldn't have made a difference...staying at the Premier Inn the pub is attached to for 4 nights...was going to have breakfast...but if tonight's offering was an indication of the food quality they serve up I think I'll go elsewhere in the morning.

After spending 2 weeks working away from home, it was brilliant to finally stay in a place that was, not only comfy, but served good food. The staff are a little bit ugly but more than make up for it with their hospitality and welcome. The food!! Even if youre not staying in the hotel, its worth a visit for the fish and chips. 10/10 Beer is reasonably priced. No complaints. If youre ever heading to Dover and need a pit stop then check this place out.

First time eating here today. Had to wait to be seated but very short staffed. Had a lovely waitress Carol, who was very professional and friendly. She was rushed off her feet, taking orders and serving with a smile on her face. Food was very nice, plant burger, beef pie, chicken roast and beef roast. Unfortunately ladies toilets could be better but this is more to do with customers and not the staff, who unfortunately have the unsavoury job of sorting them out.

Absolutely lovely lunch with my family celebrating my daughters 17th. Food lovely and hot abd didn't have to wait too long, service brilliant by all staff.

Food was cold. Took ages to come. The only reason I gave a 2 star was because the staff are massively understaffed and are trying their best and are being made to take too many reservations. Service and waiters were great and very apologetic however worst meal I have ever had

First impressions count for a lot, restaurant had just opened for lunch the floor was covered in crumbs and food under the tables, ordered roast chicken dinner, all the food came out cold apart from the chicken, we returned it to the kitchen and all they done was re-heat the food, which tasted worst than it did, very poor service and disgusting food

Just been here today for a 3 course Valentines Meal. The food was exceptional. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Well done to the Chef. We were served by Karen. She was very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend this place Jackie

Service way too slow. We spent over £500 and would have been a lot more if service was quicker. Especially on drinks. We was a large group of 10.

Tried to book a table for 13 people in two weeks but automated service ,which is absolutely useless, refuses to book a table that big.cant even speak to anyone.

Server was pleasant but over worked. Brought second course before starters finished. Second course was on cold plates and was luke warm. Not the greatest meal, very mediocre.

Went to the Thomas wyatt on the 23rd of January 2024 and must say the food was pretty awful. There was 13 of us altogether and only three meals were actually edible. One of the dining party had ribs which was so dry, you couldn’t pick the meat off the bone two of the steaks that were ordered, were either overcooked or really undercooked and chips were warm such a shame because it was my husband 60th birthday. Luckily we had a voucher for 40% off because we definitely wouldn’t have paid for that Some Of the menu were sold out before we got there. would definitely not recommend. The waitress, I couldn’t thought she could see that we had lots of problems and she tried her hardest to rectify them.

Hadn’t eaten here for quite a few years so thought we’d give it a try, well, seems like nothing has changed. Not enough staff, you stand at the entrance waiting for someone to acknowledge and show you to a table in an empty restaurant, one waitress to cover the whole establishment, disappointing food haddock not cooked.

Seated for two hours before being served a terrible meal. Cold and inedible. The waitress who was serving the whole restaurant was over-worked but wonderful. The table next to us received their main meal before their starter. We left hungry and dissatisfied.

We visited today for out daughters 4th birthday. We ordered 3 children's meal with the started being simply peppers, carrots and cucumber. These were awful the peppers were off, they had a horrible smell, slimy look instantly knew they shouldn't be served. The carrots were so dried out and grey looking very old. The cucumber looked fine until my 9yo said he didn't want this bit as it was dirty when I looked it had black mould on it and also the other one. I informed the staff member and he was very apologetic and said he would speak to the chef. He notified us he had told them to bin it all and make fresh and replaced my children's with garlic bread. The other food was OK some raw chunky chips which I left. Overall our experience has made us decide not to return.

Nice quiet friendly place to eat. Clean and tidy. Some nice alcoves to sit out of the way. Found the TV's could distracting. Not very busy for a Friday evening. Food was well cooked and tasty partner had sirloin steak and I had chicken and rib combo. We recommend both. Beer decent, staff friendly and we had good service. Worth a visit.

Service was absolutely brilliant and so was the food. But the rude customers, when asked if they had any allergies a women said no but I have intolerances why don’t you ask me that 😳 another fella demanding this and that and no pleases or thank yous. Feel for you guys you really have to put up with some rude and obnoxious people but continue to serve with a smile.

Stayed in the Premier inn next door ordered a meal deal with my stay. To be told there wasn't any tables availableb left for that night after checking in.

What a waste of time food was the worst you could eat, festive option with dry meat and deep fat fried veg. Chef seriously needs training on menu. Staff complaing about managers and how hard they work over others. The place has had a re furb but needs a staff overhaul too. It would seem the place was dead for the time of night.

Made to feel very welcome, great food, chips were perfect, waitress friendly and had good suggestions, service was a bit slow but they did seem quite busy.

Great location right next to the Premier Inn. Had a light breakfast after staying at the Premier Inn. Quite tasty, very similar to Wetherspoons in both quality and price. Free parking there plus the Premier Inn.

Had a tabled booked for 18:30, Absolutely disgusted, waited over 50 minutes to get our drinks order taken, that’s without taking orders for our food, 2 waiters for the hole dinner area, understand this is Christmas but disappointed in the service. Why not tell people you’re understaffed? Waiting time for food was 1 hour 30 mins. Joke

We arrived as was seated very quickly, so we thought this looked promising. Given a breakfast menu wasnt told about helping ourselves to breakfast/drinks. Had cereal, etc , ordered our cooked breakfast. When it arrived, my husband had black pudding missing, and mime had hash browns missing. We both had ordered poached eggs, which were more like hard bolied. I had 1 of everything expect tomatoes, and my husband was given 2 of everything he ordered. We won't ask how many eggs, etc . The eggs were very small compared to what i have a home and when stayed at other hotels. The food was that hot, either . We finished our cooked breafast and had some delicious warm chocolate croissants. Which we had just finished when the waitress appeared with our missing black pudding and hash browns in the same bowl. They should if ben in separate bowls as i hate black pudding . Though out the breakfast will were not asked once if everything was ok. The staff were busy and maybe needed to have more on at weekends. We paid and wasn't even asked how everything was. Tea was very hot, so that was good. Coffee from your machine was awful, so hubby said. Unfortunately, i dont think i be rushing back on mynext rare Saturday off work.

Food is fairly decent for the price, but does seem to come up warm and not hot, like it's been sitting on the side waiting to be served. Had this experience with both Dinner and breakfast. Staff are very polite in the restaurant and seem very rushed, but do provide a great service.

The food was really not very good. The fish and chips was all batter but they replaced it. The chicken burger was very plain with undercooked french fries and no garnish so I had to pay the extra for some salad. The service however was brilliant, very attentive and friendly and they were happy that we took a birthday cake which they brought in with candles alight. Also we stayed for ages as we were a large group and they didn't rush us.
