Sipp Cafe and Bar in Leicester

El personal era muy grosero, especialmente la mujer joven de aspecto mestizo con cabello rizado, vine aquí con toda mi familia para un almuerzo de cumpleaños y fount el servicio absolutamente insoportable. Esperé más de 45 minutos a que saliera un pan tostado que los ingredientes se compraron en una tienda local en la carretera, ya que personalmente vi al chef salir para comprar lo que se necesitaba para nuestro pedido. Es diabólico que un restaurante atienda a clientes sin experiencia alguna. En general, la comida no era tan mala, pero era simplemente nada que salía y no voy a volver a este lugar.

My family came here for lunch, the decor outside was lovely and warm. The inside looked inviting and the menu, although not too diverse, looked perfect to satisfy our lunch needs. When we arrived the lady at the bar was busy wrestling the coffee machine for another group of ladies. After we seated, rather a long time passed whilst the lady was still fighting the coffee, before a young lad finally appeared to give us a menu. When he later reappeared to take our order he was wearing a chef jacket but we weren’t convinced. He took two of our orders and tried to leave (there were four of us) and we eventually persuaded him that the remaining two people also wanted food and beverages. Order placed, we settled and admired the decor. If the music playing super loudly wasn’t bad enough, the phone plugged into the system wasn’t on ‘do not disturb’ so it was constantly receiving messages and the music muting over and over. I received my milkshake and although it was room temperature, it was pretty tasty. My elderly grandmother couldn’t get down the stairs to the toilets and it was probably for the best - Most cubicle doors not locking, no toilet paper, sinks out of order, I felt like it hadn’t been cleaned since last year. Grim. Back upstairs we sat and waited an eternity for the food. We watched as customers entered the cafe, waited and left as no staff were present for most of the time we were there. At one point the lady behind the bar left and went to Tesco. To get ingredients for our meals we wondered? An hour later and we were offered free cake, as our food has still not arrived. The deserts were slightly stale but fairly tasty. When our lunch arrived, it was edible, but definitely not worth the wait. My grandmother politely nibbled at her toastie but the reality was; it was cold and burnt. I really think this cafe should stick to being a nightclub. I will reminisce on the trip to this cafe for many years to come as it was certainly memorable. The staff were lovely, I just hope we caught them on an off day…

Just had the most wonderful experience at this cafe. Needed somewhere quiet for 30 mins to have a quick Teams meeting before a train. Ducked in an a lovely barmaid checked on my wellbeing, bought me a drink and a fantastic cake, then kindly ask if it would be helpful is she lowered the music. Bearded chap also there who I think was the manager. Again just really kind and polite. Tea was lovely and the warm cookie I had incredible!!! I was really grateful for the quality of service. They had an issue with the card machine at end, again all sorted. Will defo stop here again. Thanks for the lovely and surprising service!!!
