Really great family feel to this little gem of a cafe, staff were very friendly and welcoming (even though they were exceptionally busy) food was excellent I had the chicken burger and my partner had a tuna pannini both of which were excellent. Prices are very reasonable and this place is well worth a visit and we look forward to our next time

Today's visit disappointing. The food was excellent as usual but the interaction between the young man and lady serving was too personal to get overheard by the customers. We didn't need to hear about weight issues body piercings and girlfriends. Also the young lady spent a lot of time with a customers dog then lifted and served a scone without washing her hands. We reluctantly refused a dessert .

We return here whenever we’re in settle. It was a lovely autumn sunny Saturday but cold so we opted for the creamy vegetable soup and a roll. It is out of this world, the young lad behind the counter talking and serving the orders was doing a terrific job as well as cleaning tables when people had finished and left. I believe it was his mother upstairs sending all the delicious looking food down made to order. I’m not sure I should be writing such a good review as I’d rather keep this place to myself. It’s a gem of a find and later before crimbo they are bringing back the crimbo dinner. I had one last year and it did not disappoint, everything you have at home was there. Long may they keep going 👏👏👏👏

We had actually gone into a different cafe and after waiting half an hour with no service, left. We then happened on The Singing Kettle. We opted for the Yorkshire Ploughman’s and a ham sandwich. There was a bit of a wait for the food to be prepared but it was worth it. The sandwich was delicious and filling and my husband struggled to finish his Ploughman’s but ploughed on and thoroughly enjoyed it. The price for both was £13.50!! Terrific value. Staff were chatty and friendly. We were downstairs and that looked clean enough. I would definitely recommend and would certainly go again.

Easily found in the middle of Settle. Dog friendly and welcoming staff. Good choices on the menu from teacake to full meals. Only reason it's not a five is because the coffee was a bit bitter and the toilets are 2 flights up narrow stairs. However, would go back as the food was great and served with a smile.

With memories of my late brother-in-law who went to school in Settle, and needing a break on our wet journey to our holiday in the Lakes, we happened on this delightful place soon after parking the car. Unfortunately for us (and another couple who arrived just after us), we were just too late for anything savoury. However, we were made very welcome by the friendly staff, and there was a good selection of home-made cakes, as well as great coffee. Dog-friendly indeed, and there were some lovely doggies there, including the owners' dachsund puppy. Some of the staff obviously even shared our love of railways and trains, with some lovely pics on the walls.

We pre booked the walkers pack lunch, in which we collected the morning of our walk and what an amazing pack up it was. Quality sandwiches of our choice, scone with jam/ cream both served in little pots. We also had a piece of homemade quiche, sausage roll and two beautiful pieces of home made cake with a packet of crisps and a hot drink. Cutlery was also provided.Plenty of delicious food to keep us going on our 10 mile walk and we were still finishing off some items the next day 😋. All too good to waste. Such lovely customer service, my sister is gluten free and usually has limited items offered when we are out. However not at the singing kettle, everything we were provided the lovely lady baked my sister a gluten free option for everything. She was so overwhelmed about this, so thank you to the amazing staff there. Would definitely recommend this cafe to everyone. 🥰

Me and my husband visited here Saturday we loved going here before lock down visited regular. The menu is a shambles very limited choice £4.20 for cheese and ham toastie no side salad just a toastie on a plate. Staff said had changed owners clearly new owners aren’t local. This cafe was such a lovely place to get a homely cooked meal no breakfasts, no meals. I saw a sandwich been served £3.70 for a sandwich same again no crisps no side salad very expensive. Tables not been cleaned properly no wipe down of chairs, went to the loo looked in the kitchen where food was been prepared raw meat been left out, food unwrapped, flys flying round food. Cutlery was dirty. Very young staff working one young girl had a very bad attitude. Elderly man was wondering round asking if everything was ok never saw him wash his hands once presume he was the new owner didn’t look very professional. When going to the loo the kitchen is on the top floor there was food left out on work area not covered up, bought in Heinz soup, very untidy. This cafe has been ruined and it’s so sad, no previous staff working there that used to make the place a worthy place to visit it’s gone down hill. Cafe very quiet this is unusual for the singing kettle now we no why. Such a shame but avoid if possible nothing worth visiting for anymore this was the place to be.

I have visited this local business several times now. Reliable, friendly, affable staff. Just the place for a tea/coffee and a cake or a breakfast. Clean tables and nice selection of food and snacks at sensible prices. The downside is that it is small and only around 8 tables, but it is cosy which I like and therefore not too crowded or noisy if trying to read a newspaper. Toilets are a mountain climb up 2 flights of steep stairs to the very top and staircase is narrow with large steps, so not ideal for everyone. But the place has character and is worth a good review.l

Visited with some ‘biker’ friends and had lunch. I ordered the pork pie and peas and a friend had steak pie and chips. The chips were oven chips! The pie had been microwaved - pastry should be crisp and crumbly not like a soggy sponge! This is Lazy catering and shows very little respect for the customer.I think this cafe has changed hands recently - it used to be my ‘go to’ cafe in Settle, as the previous owners took pride in serving home cooked food; not ‘ding’ food!I will be trying another cafe next time. Popped in here with over an hour to spare before our coach left. It was very busy and the two young girls serving downstairs were completely rushed off their feet. It took quite a while for our order to be taken of 2 coffees and 2 small breakfasts but we could see they were both very busy so that was fine. What wasn't fine is that several people were served before us and when we enquired it seemed our order hadn't been processed. We waited another age for our food, our coffees had gone cold by then. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The beans and sausage and egg were tasty but the rest was a bit grim. My fried bread, pictured, was like a house brick. What annoyed me even more was that one of the waitresses was visited by some woman who was nattering on and on despite the poor waitress being clearly rushed off her feet. She even stood behind the counter with her bag leaning on the coffee machine. Not a great time to pop in for a chat!

I phoned the day before to say one of our party could not have a cooked breakfast and could he have some porridge. It wasn't on the menu but the owner said he would go and get some for us. Myself and 3 friends visited the Singing Kettle this morning and found ourselves incredibly disappointed. The waitress who served us was rude, told us to be quiet whilst discussing the menu (quietly, amongst ourselves) whilst another in our group was ordering. Despite the silence when ordering, our order was mixed up and one of the group received a bacon roll instead of sausage. Furthermore, the flapjack cost £1.70 and was not much bigger than a 50 pence piece- we found we could purchase two matchbox-sized flapjacks for £1 at the co-op down the road. On top of all this, when our food arrived, the waitress demanded, “move girls” and slammed the plates down infront of us. All in all was thoroughly disappointed that a peaceful and enjoyable weekend in Settle came to an end at this unwelcoming cafe. Good sausages though.

Had the large breakfast before getting the train. And it was probably the best priced breakfast ever. I would seriously recommend this cafe to anyone who is visiting settle or passing through.

We were on the way to visit friends and as it was a rainy Sunday morning (and hubby's usual thing is browsing car boot sales) and as we couldn't follow hubby's favourite pastime we decided to go for breakfast on the way. I remembered this place but wasn't even sure it would be open but we made the detour into Settle from the main A65 just to check and lo and behold the lights were on (apparently it can be anywhere between about 8.30 and 9am even on a Sunday dependent on the weather). Hubby plumped for the large breakfast (2 of everything) and I went for the small breakfast (1 of everything), both were really nice and the items all very nicely cooked. If I have one "downer" about it - it doesn't include toast, which we realised when we had started eating so asked for a couple of slices each which came very quickly (we were the only ones in there eating though). The mugs of coffee were lovely too, came with hot milk in a jug. And all this for £13.70 which to me seemed a really good price. I would definitely recommend this place, the owner is really nice and helpful.

Used the Singing Kettle for lunch on a day trip. Good menu catering for most palates. Proper food! Cottage pie, baked potatoes. Not an extensive menu, but still had variety. Not all home made, rice pudding definitely from a tin, but then it doesn't claim to be. VERY reasonable prices, good service.

Went for lunch, food and service was excellent. What you should get when you eat out but sadly far too often don’t. Would highly recommend

We were in settle today. Picked the kettle for a coffee. Service with a smile. Next time we will have a proper meal. Fruit cake was good and prices are unbelievably low.

We came here as a group of 7, we had a gorgeous breakfast! Even perfect for us two fussy vegetarians. The waitress on shift today (14/07) was fabulous! She always had a smile on her face and was very helpful. We will definitely be coming back during our holiday to settle.

Lovely Service from Jess, who was very welcoming and friendly. We were staying nearby and thought we would give this place a try. The food was nice but nothing to write home about.

Excellent, efficient and attentive service. Food was fresh and plentiful. I would heartily recommend. We hadn't booked, just found it by chance - will go back and have already spread the good word to others !

We've visited many times and chosen from the breakfast menu which has always been first class. However today I decided to choose a punjabi lunch special which was brown lentil Dahl yogurt, salad and freshly made chapati, oh my word it was first class. Well worth the 36 mile round trip. The owner & waitress are lovely, so friendly and helpful and seem very genuine that you enjoy your visit. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed
