Singapore Garden in Cherwell

February 2023. Had the Prawn Chow Mein and Pancake Rolls. The Chow Mein tasted fine but the Pancake Rolls tasted and smelt a little different from the times I've had before. After 2 hours, I was sick and fell ill to it. Unfortunate as I normally buy from here but because of this, I don't think I will again. :( Updating as I'm seeing you were hit with a low hygeine score recently. This food poisoning took me 2 weeks to recover from. You should have taken my review as a warning sign because this was the worst food poisoning I had to deal with.

Coming from Singapore I was excited to show some support to what hinted as “Singapore inspired / theme food” I ordered a mixed dim sum, a beef horfun, a roast meat box with fried rice, sweet & sour chicken balls, chicken curry and banana fritters to end the meal. While sounding good on paper, it was rather disappointing. This is not Singapore food. The roasted meat box of charsiew and duck meat was really dried duck bones. Where was the meat? The curry was a watery tasteless soup, and the horfun really just tasted like soy sauce. Dim sum tasted like it was heated from frozen, dry and crumbly. The only yummy item in there was the fried banana. However if you are vegetarian, I won’t recommend as I’m pretty sure it’s fried in the same oil as the chicken balls since it both had the identical old/overused oil.. a dark (not golden) brown.

Delicious food and good service. My children love the food very much. We should come back again. 👍🏻❤️

Ordered food at 1700 advised it would arrive at 1803 ... 1820 made a call to ask where meal was told it was on the way 0.5 mile distance. 1850. Meal arrived virtually cold. Spring rolls were the hottest thing. Had ordered banana fritter. When attempted to eat they both were rotten inside!!!! Never had a meal like it tobe honest, and won't be returning. I do have a photo of the rotten banana If anyone wishes to see it.

First and last time. Food was not tasty. Shame. Chicken and sweetcorn Soup was cold and thick with hardly any chicken No flavour to meals very bland.

In that Village, you can having good Hong Kong style cooking, it amazing. Order a dry fried flat noodle with beef- Ho Fan .... very good and curry beef brisket rice. Very yumi. Good recommended.....

Overall, the worst Chinese meal I've ever had. It started so well to be fair! The starters are actually wonderful, featuring some of the best crispy aromatic duck I've ever had (no joke, it was incredible). The crispy spring rolls were also delicious. Then it all came tumbling down...really badly. We ordered two ho fun noodles, which tasted of nothing at all and had the consistency of wallpaper paste and a schezuan chicken that had no flavour whatsoever. It had no heat, no flavour and was a complete waste of money. Insipid, stuck together noodles that were ultimately fit for the bin, and a main that was simply awful. Very disappointed given some of the reviews. It was honestly the worst Chinese I've ever eaten, and that spans many countries and 40 years. Gross!

Stay Well clear of this Chinese had chicken satay on skewers and beef satay. The chicken was raw not cooked the sauce was greecy like it been made from cooking oil. The beef satay did not taste anything like satay. The meat was like hard cold rubber. Completely different from the chicken satay sauce. I went and picked this up. When looking through the door it was disgusting very dirty inside. I have to say I feel sick after trying there food.

I've got mix reviews about this place. The first time I tried the food, my family was not impressed. I gave them a second try (because I could not get through to another) and they were alot better this time around, I guess they have there on and off days.

We wanted to try after reading the good reviews in google... but honestly, it was the worst worst worst Chinese takeaway we ever had. We know usually Chinese takeaway dishes are usually a bit oily but this one we just had... was the worst! the prawn balls, well you can have a look at the pictures.. it was hard and dry like a stone “! Not eatable at all! We order beef noodles with gravy, but there were no noodles.. 😔Perhaps, it is all because of too busy on a Saturday 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fresh food, duck had no fat on which was amazing. Great value. New favourite Chinese in this area. Will get from here again.

To be honest, the food is not very good. Some dishes are way too salty and the colour is too artificial like neon red sweet and sour pork lol. Some dishes are alright. I had my takeaways twice during my stay in Bicester because the staffs are friendly and helpful. I will go again next time I visit my family there.

Cheap but long wait Had to wait an hour and 40 for delivery despite calling back after an hour, then an hour 20 and being told it was on its way after an hour. Food was a bit bland and over cooked.

Tried for the first time today, as my regular takeaway is shut because of the lockdown. Really good, very tasty, good portion size and good prices. I'll definitely use them again.

Superb. One of the best Chinese takeaways we've had for a long time. Piping hot and delicious. Used to go to this Chinese before it was taken over and was always good. Now even better...will be back 👍

Food is good, but lately the delivery times have been awful. Last 3 times it has been almost one and a half hours! Wouldn't be so bad if they told you that but when you order they say 45 minutes. Never has it been 45 minutes.

Traveled from Buckingham to try it out. Staff friendly. The large container meals were very boring, to much rice to sauce ratio so was very dry. The ribs were very fatty and the bones kept breaking. The Mongolian lamb was nice not had them with pancakes like duck before but enjoyed them. They forgot to put the squid we ordered in our bag but to late to do anything by The time we got back to Buckingham.

Cannot review food! We have waited 2 hrs. No food so have cancelled. Our daughter has gone to bed having had toast for dinner! We ordered ; after an hour we called to be told it’s on route. Another half hour we called again to be told he is lost! Why has nobody called us asking for directions? Another 15 we have cancelled! What’s most upsetting is no apology any time we called. We have been polite despite poor service. Will not use again nor recommend for delivery.

This little Chinese restaurant is like a little hidden gem . Not big enough for a massive function, but for takeaways, it is outstanding . The food is freshly made and taste beautiful. Very friendly staff.

The food is freshly cooked and is truly authentic. Family run business the manager is lovely always helpful. This is our fifth visit now and we would not want to go anywhere else. The food takes a little longer to prepare but what you get is really tasty and of a high quality. Would highly recommend.

Decided to order a takeaway from here on a recommendation. So glad I did. There was loads of food and really tasty too. You do wait a while for it, i only saw one person in the kitchen. However, just plan ahead and give yourself some time to accomodate this, and you won't be disappointed. Will definitely order from here again.

We always order chinese from Singapore Gardens and never are disappointed. We have tried several ones in Bicester and this is the best one we have ordered from. Friendly staff and good food, everything you want from a takeaway.

A really nice take away with warm friendly staff,I loved the last owners but find still get a grest service.

The Singapore has changed hands with a now enlarged menu. It also has some tables and chairs. When I went there were 2 people eating in. Thou they advertise that they take CC for payment this they were unable to do. Not suitable for a 21st century business

Had visitors and first time we tried them. My chicken curry was excellent. The others had a meal for 3 and enjoyed it. Would use them again.

We had a meal the day Singapore Garden reopened and it was really tasty. We had another meal from them the following week and it was terrible. The whole meal ended up in the bin and was a waste of £21.00. The rice was a stodgy lump, the fried chicken with chilli and garlic was cremated and I’m not sure what they’d done to my beancurd with mixed vegetables, but it tasted really horrible. Very disappointed & would not recommend.

We collected a take away this evening. We ordered from their web site. The portions were generous and the meals were superb. I particularly liked the pork char siu and the curry with green herbs. There was a nice bit of "heat" to the meals! In most of the Chinese take-aways locally I find the meals too sweet and rather bland. All of the family agreed that this was much nicer than where we have tried before in Bicester.

This is undoubtedly the best Chinese in Bicester. ..been to others and simply no match great variety of dishes and well cooked..dont bother to go else where overpriced and poor in comparison.

After moving to Bicester we tried every chinese in the area hoping to find one as good as we had before. This was the last we tried and we have never had a bad meal. Quick delivery, friendly service and top food.

We have been using the Singapore Garden for years now. The food is amazing, the service is excellent and i could not say anything negative at all! Try the Singapore style chicken balls, they are amazing!

Have ordered meals from here whilst at work, they deliver free of charge and the food is good value and tasty.Typical Chinese that serves the local area well. You can't go wrong with them

The food is usually very good,reasonably priced and has a bit of atmosphere as well. I have been here on a number of occasions and alway find it to be the same.

For a take away the food has always been excellent and never lets you down over quality. One problem is they close for 3 weeks in January and leaves you with a problem finding a replacement. If you like Crispy Duck it is worth trying.

This is our Saturday night treat, they deliver and give an accurate ETA the food is lovely and hot, the service is great would definitely recommend

We have used the Singapore garden for home delivery for years and can't fault it. Food is delivered quickly and is always fresh and tasty. They are happy to accommodate any changes you need to dishes.

Used to be one of the best Chinese takeaways in Bicester but tonight's meal was unbelievably bad. Super Greasy foo yung. Red Thai curry was weird "beef" in some sort of cream with par-boiled peppers. And I can understand why the spare ribs were spare. Just appalling. Avoid.

We have enjoyed meals from this take away for some years and have never been anything but delighted with the fantastic quality of the food and service. Try no. 77. Amazing!

This is a takeaway only restaurant. Free delivery within 3 miles of Bicester centre.The cuisine is a great change from the normal curry or Chinese options, Chinese with added chilli.We have had many meals delivered from here over the past few years and never been disappointed.
