Singapore Chinese Takeaway in Reading

Ordered a little over £80 worth of food and told delivery would be about 8:40pm. Delivery arrived shortly after 9:15pm, and only after chasing the restaurant twice by phone. The restaurant staff I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude, and told me to just be patient and wait, and our food would arrive when it arrived. The delivery driver was also extremely rude and started shouting about me calling the restaurant and trying to get him in trouble. After waiting all that time for the food, one item was completely wrong (ordered salt and pepper chicken, and got chicken in black bean sauce instead). The Thai green curry was so over salted, someone instantly vomited from this. The salt and pepper squid was so over peppered, no one could eat more than a mouthful. Avoid at all costs. The menu is over priced, the chefs don't have a clue how to use reasonable seasoning, the staff wouldn't know customer service with map and a flashlight. The single worst restaurant in Reading!

Never ever more at any price This restaurant can poison you . I have traveled to town to return all of it This business is hidden at the back of other shop . Rude "chef" told me there his food is good just a bit burned. Avoid it even for free !

Made a preorder order on Deliveroo at 11:30am for 12:15pm-13:00. 13:00 came, no food. Called them and they said there was a shortage of Deliveroo drivers so there would be a delay. 13:30 still nothing so we can go to check and our order has been cancelled... thanks for telling us. 😒

The reviews are all true, should have checked the reviews before ordering. The food arrived on time and was warm, but the good things ends there. The meat smelled a bit funny (not as expected), noodles was too salty, onions, onions and a lot of onions. Unfortunately, had to bin it. Sorry to put such a bad review, but it was the worst takeaway I have had in a while. Occasionally we get an item or two that may not taste as expected, but never all the items.

Absolutely disgusting service and food! But please do not worry…they have plenty of onions! All the food we ordered was more uncooked onions than meat, the crispy noodles weren’t crispy at all and the food was lacking taste overall. Wish I would have read the reviews on Google before ordering on Uber. Never again! Can’t even get a refund for the disgusting excuse for food that we received!

Highly recommend this take away restaurant for everyone, very friendly staff, helpful, best of the best delivery drivers, fast and friendly, cooking well. Always get very tasty food.

This place I’m going to report to environmental health! Jasmine takeaway was hand written on a piece of paper and stuck on the window! The food was handed to us by someone in the back of a convenient store! No signs of hygienic cooking or even a takeaway. And the food was shocking. Prawn toast was off, it was so evidently dangerous to eat we binned it.

We ordered a take away/delivery from here tonight for the first time. Food was absolutely disgusting. Tasteless, minimal portions, smelt foul, missing items and did not want to risk eating, so went straight in the bin. Not even fit for the dog. When trying to contact them, there was no response. Will never order from their again. Would prefer not to put any star ratings but it wont let me continue without putting one.

3 pieces of chicken in the sweet and sour chicken, should have been sweet and sour onion. I love swimming myself but my chow main looked like it was having a better swim then I normally have. Chinese curry more like Chinese soup don't pay extra for chicken no point the chicken decided it was to watered down and ran away as the chicken knows it is not a duck. I was going to put out missing flyers for the chicken. Really disappointed with my dinner

We’ve just had a takeaway from here and it was awful. The salt and pepper squid was over cooked. The dumplings were standard but the soy sauce with it, well it should be but it was like a pot of vinegar. Absolutely disgusting. Chow mien was bland. Chicken Chinese curry was bland and didn’t even taste like a Chinese curry. Egg fried rice that was standard, can’t mess that up really. Thai sticky rice….very sticky obviously but it was like mush. I can do better sticky rice than that. And the Thai green curry. Well it wasn’t even a Thai curry. I swear it was Chinese curry sauce with a bit of spice and lemongrass. Absolutely awful take away. That cost £38 for it to end up in the bin. Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star.

This takeaway is not even worth one star !!! Too expensive 6.99 for shredded beef that was literally all onion, the beef curry tasted off, I literally spat it out, threw the lot in the bin. Stick to what you know we ordered mcds instead! Do not use this restaurant. We called the restaurant the guy said this was due to low stock but still charged the full amount

Prawn crackers were stale and only have a quarter of my crispy chilli beef was actually in the box. Food turned up 40 minutes late. Joke of a place.

Items missing from order, unable to contact the takeaway to tell them this. Very small portions!! Curry tasted ‘off!!’ Definitely would not order from here again. 1 star is the minimum score, this place is not even worth this!!! Avoid this place

poor poor food thai green curry 2 pieces of beef and so bitter it could not be eaten sauce was like snot spare ribs included an eaten duck leg bone tom yum soup again massively bitter and in edible didnt bother with the seafood rice as the rest was so bad i didnt want to get food poisoning do not waste your time or money on this "take away"

Disgusting food! order not complete. Lemon chicken looked like dirty dish water and smelt foul. special fried rice was horrible brown looking with hardly any meat or other ingredients. Most uncouth and ill mannered people. I ordered through Deliveroo at 8:30 pm, the scheduled delivery time was 9:20 PM and the order didn't turn up until 10:10 pm when a rude person called me from our parking to come and collect in an unapologetic voice. When asked why it was so late and why he won't come to the doorstep, the person replied in a horrible tone of disrespect to come and collect or get lost. So, I rather asked him to get lost. I don't know how restaurants with such horrible attitude survive in this period of pandemic when the whole hospitality industry is in crisis.

Paid £8 pounds for 3 prawn balls 8 pounds for two satay sticks, two spring rolls, two prawn toasts and some extremely burnt "seaweed". Pancakes went cold after two minutes, only enough housin sauce for a quarter duck when we ordered a half. A thoroughly disappointing birthday treat. One star is generous, never ever again.

Worst Asian food ever. We ordered Thai curry, but no taste at all, meat very hard. We just threw it away. Not recommended.

Really poor. Used Deliveroo to get some food but never really arrived. Restaurant doesn't pick up the call after trying about 20 times. Avoid this if you want to avoid going hangry!

I got delivery from this restaurant and it was horrendous. I am not a very picky person but the food was barely edible. The vegetables were not fully cooked, the noodles were burned, and the order was wrong. The prawn crackers were stale. I wouldnt be ordering from here if I were you.

Absolutely disgraceful. I am not the pickiest of eaters and I find it hard to pick fault with a good Chinese. This place however was disappointing across the board. The duck and pancakes came with no pancakes or sauce, the lemon chicken tasted like it was cooked with washing up liquid and when I tried calling to rectify this I never got through having called 5 times. They should be ashamed that this is the food that they present to the public, I will not be returning.

The food is disgusting 🤮 It has to much salt; it is exceptionally poor quality The duck & pork noodles was grey! The noodles were soft almost to the point of disintegration. The duck was just skin & fat! The spare ribs were covered in “juice” and they were nasty- the meat could not be consumed as it was stringy It made my son sick in terms of food poisoning AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Would not order again, Singapore noodles were not well flavoured, chicken skewers too salty, take away was not kept hot until collection. The take away is on a dodgy road, and the interior of the shop does not inspire any confidece, inside it does not look like a place which sells food at all. Finding the shop was difficult too, as the shops signage is very poor. I was parked right outside it and couldn't see anything which looked like it said Jasmine Chinese Takeaway. Discovered the shop after 5 minutes of walking up and down the road and looking at numbers on doors. On the plus side, the dumplings were good.

I am sat here still waiting for my food and was hoping to be at the pub by now. I wanted to fume down the phone but the cowards wouldn't answer.

Half the order didn't arrive. I then called six times without ever getting an answer. The food that did arrive was only 2 star-worthy at best.

Just had an awful meal at a very high price. Everything came with an excessive amount of sauce to it. The only dish with flavour was the black bean beef but the Tupperware was overflowing with sauce. Szechuan chicken was tasteless and also had way too much sauce. Paid 6 pounds for 3 microscopic spring rolls.... I could go on. Don't eat here, save your money for a chipper or something.

Placed order via Deliveroo and then checked reviews.. stunned by all the negative reviews I regretted placing the order... tried calling the takeaway no answer at least 5 times I called! I then received a call via Deliveroo from the takeaway and she replaced one item of food as they had run out of it (I was happy she called me to replace the 86’d item). The wait wasn’t long at all and then 25 mins after placing order I received it, nice and hot ... I ordered Nasi goreng, egg fried rice, beef noodles, and more. Absolutely everything tasted delicious and more so it was on time and the driver was courteous. I don’t deny the people reviewing may have had a bad experience but I think people are always too quick to leave a bad review, so just before our second lockdown i would like to leave a good review saying thank you Jasmine garden for my delicious takeaway this evening! 😋

I ordered 3 items. Dumplings didn't arrive. Noodles were unchewable and completely bland. Hot and sour soup was MSG flavoured cornflour water with no hint of hot or sour. These are easy dishes even for an amateur cook like myself! Honestly the worst takeaway I've ever dhad

When you order take away don't always expect everything you ordered paid £5 for something that didn't arrive, rang twice for a refund and always no one there thanks a bunch -_-

I ordered through delivroo at 16 and at seven I was on the phone with the restaurant because I didn't receive my order. They said that they have delivered my order but I didn't get anything. The manager that I talked to was very rude and he had no customer service skills. It was a very bad experience. I don't recommend ordering from this restaurant.

Ordered a takeaway tonight! Very disappointed. Ordered it on deliveroo at around 8.20pm. Got confirmation and said it will be with us at 9.20pm. We eventually received our order at 9.50pm. The food was warm and u could taste that the food had been sat in the tubs for a while. Most of the sauces that came with it ( peanut sauce, sweet and sour sauce and the curry sauce) was just like water. I have never seen any sauce from chinese place be so watery. I won't be ordering from them ever again!!!

Absolutley disappointed! Thai green curry looked like pond water and tasted foul! Had to chuck my plate in the bin. The colour of it was like nothing I’ve seen before! There was this over powering taste I can’t describe, like they chucked a load of curry powder in it. Noodles were basically like pasta from a packet, only got 1 spring roll on its own. Just foul never ordering from there again!!!!!

Let's just say that the lack of skill involved in delivering is non existent, missing items, never picks phoneup, oh and the chicken balls were as soggy as limp biscuit, the chow mein was nice but colder then Russia in winter, and the level of service was terrible, do not recommend try elsewhere for better, all the best A honest but polite way of saying don't go here

Very small portions - £6.99 for 6!!!!! chicken balls that are each smaller than golf ball and 1 of which contained no chicken - very dry and dense. Tubs of noodles only half filled and contain a-lot of an oily substance floating around (don't tip the tub out whatever you do - your food will drown). Egg fried rice tub only half filled, meat dish (chicken with chili) - again half filled. Very expensive (each general main dish is £6.99 or higher) and food is very poor quality - lacks flavor and is obviously highly processed/frozen/microwaved. No prawn crackers even though I spent over £27. Phoned to make a complaint and was met with "and what!" attitude - hence why I'm here - avoid at all costs.

Ordered through deliveroo and really wish I hadn't. Food took almost 2 hours to arrive, when it did it was stone cold and the curry sauce had gone firm. Ordered king prawn fried rice which had roughly 5 either old or severely overcooked prawns in it. The rice was either burned or poorly seasoned and inedible. Binned most of it. The deep fried chicken shreds came in some weird sauce which wasnt mentioned in the description. Really unimpressed

I ordered 3kampong chicken , it took an hour and a half to get delivered and my goodness the chicken tasted like raw fish masked with very hot chilli and gigantic onions and peppers. Sadly none of us could eat it it all went to the bin. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone please.

By far the most disgusting food Iv ever tasted . Nearly two hours . Freezing cold chicken like cardboard with some slop over the top , salty overcooked duck , some sort of slop inside the spring roll . Very very poor . Wouldn’t feed or to my dog . Fuming about to head down to the shop now .

Ordered a pork pad Thai .and BBQ ribs Nothing like a pad Thai and NO PORK and it had green and red peppers in it.about 6 bean sprouts. Just noodles a shaving of carot 1 bit of broccoli.and 1 mushroom .. also very little meat on the tough ribs .

Watery sweet and sour sauce not enough chicken and strangely large and uncut vegetables, enjoyed my meal of fried rice and delivery time was pretty good.

The food is absolutely dire, not even a chinese restaurent, owned by Pakistanis who can't cook chinese food!

The chicken balls were basically dense donut dough filled with frozen overcooked chicken, tasted very sweet and underseasoned, even without the sauce and the sweet and sour sauce was plain bad, worse than cheap store bought ones. We paid 4 pounds for won tons that arrived with no filling in them whatsoever, just sheets of oily deep fried dough. The prawn rolls were probably the worst, tasted really bad and they were supposed to be crispy but even though they were deep fried, they just tasted like old dough with freezer burn. Some of them didn't even have prawn in them, just plain horrible dough, and the prawn filled ones tasted off. The tofu dish was terribly cooked as well, soggy and underseasoned with a sauce that was closer to syrup. It did arrive on time however, but honestly, we would've preferred if the food hadn't arrived at all. Worst 20 pounds we've ever spent on takeout.

Terriable food, dry rice with curry powder. Asked for extra chill, put in roughly cut chillis. BBQ sauce was just salt, to a point where it was poison. Do not reccomend this at all

Ordered half duck with pancakes and most of the box was full of soggy duck skin not cripsy just fatty. Noodles tasted like they been cooked in a burnt pan with burnt bits all over them. This used to be the best Chinese in Reading, now its the worst...

Not recommended at all. Just ordered Special Fried Rice : BBQ Pork, Chicken & Shrimps and Szechuan Chicken in Garlic Chilli Sauce. They Messed up my order and just sent me the Szechuan chicken only. Then had to call back to inquire about the Fried Rice. They finally sent it but tasted really horrible. Rice was so dry any there was no single Shrimp on the rice. Do not recommend at all !!!

Food took two hours to arrive for a restaurant that is 0.4miles away and came lukewarm with very small portions for the price and not very flavourful. The curry sauce tasted watery and my crispy beef dish had more onion than beef and the special noodles have next to no meat and 1 prawn. Not worth the £7 price tag. This place has become disappointing we used to order here all the time.

They dont deserve even 1 star. The dim sums and squid starters were a joke! The portion was tiny served with a tremendous amount of onions and green pepers. The mains - a green curry and pad thai were also so bad that I think this restaurant was taking the piss. We paid 30 pouds to eat mainly onions. What a joke!!! Should have gone to Bo wah but they were closed or eaten baked beans on toast.

Order never turned up despite being told twice that it was on the way. Eventually complained to Just Eat who then phoned the restaurant, to which they then said that it had been delivered despite it never arriving. Won't be using again

My boyfriend has ordered from Jasmine Garden through Just Eat and when it arrived the food was uneadable. The curry sauce was congealed and moved like slop, and the duck rice was clearly microwaved and the duck had hair on it and was all fat. When he tried to complain to just eat they would always reply with “the restaurant refuses to talk.” They clearly do not care about customer service or food. Would never recommend this awful restaurant to anyone!

The order was scheduled to take just over one hour to be delivered. We were surprised when the order arrived after only 20 minutes. When we served up the dishes, we could see how they were so quick making it. We ordered 3 dishes for just under 20 pounds. That's expensive in this area! The Malaysian Style (Masaman) beef curry with Coconut Milk. A few strips of very chewy beef and loads of mushrooms. Very poor. The Special Fried Rice, BBQ Pork, Chicken & Shrimps was an absolute disgrace. We even took a picture of it! The portion was tiny, there was hardly any of the main ingredients and there were no spices at all - It was like they forgot to put them in! It was basically boiled rice with some food scraps thrown in! The Stir Fried Mixed Vegetable was swimming in sauce and not what we expected. Actually, it tasted like it had been cooked the day before. Definitely not ordering from Jasmine Garden again and advising friends to also avoid.

The curry sauce was one solid piece of unseasoned goop, tasted like spicy gravy more like. The chicken balls were covered in bread like batter which was under cooked and tasted awful. Ordered a pork dish which was also under cooked and made me violently ill for a few days. Chow Mein was not fresh, Rice was not fresh. I have had actual Chinese food before and it DOES NOT not taste like food from this place. DISGUSTING FOOD DO NOT BUY. They should go out of business.

Worst Chinese in reading. I ordered a spring roll and was undercooked and tasted like cardboard, chow mein noodles were tasteless (had to add our own salt and soy sauce) more onions than chicken, barely any chicken and was smaller than a penny coin.

A green fly was cooked into the pad thai, it was evident it was cooked as it was charred on one side. Questionable hygene control..

The waiting time was originally 1 hour 15 mins which I thought was suspect for a Tuesday night anyway, just assumed it was a buffer and might arrive earlier so went along with it. Then the food didn’t turn up for an extra half an hour on top of that. So was actually almost 2 hours and meant we didn’t sit down to eat until 10pm. When the food got here, I asked the driver politely if they had been busy. He laughed at me and said “Ha! The foods still fresh ennit.” In a very rude tone. The food was cold (not even luke warm), but into a chicken ball, was still pink inside. The chow mien had like 3 prawns in it? So overal, food was cold, very late, chicken was pink and the driver was rude. After a lot of complaining, they did however give me a full refund. So technically I should give these guys an extra star. However due to the rudeness, I’m not going to.

takes ages, horrible -- HORRIBLE -- food. hong kong style chicken is raw vegetables and canned pineapple warmed through in jizzy pink sugarwater with two specks of soggy chicken glued to the bottom. the rice is burned, the spring roll is cold beansprouts and sinewy meat wrapped in what looks like expired ukrainian christmas pastry. avoid.

My food took an hour and a half to arrive, was cold when it arrived, chips weren't cook properly, the duck was disgusting and full of bones and even the curry sauce was nasty and lumpy. When it finally arrived the man didn't have the correct change and I was put of pocket... Terrible service

I just moved to town, and thought of ordering from this place worst decision ever prawn toast was dripping in oil, roast duck was 98% beansprouts and a watery sauce I couldn't make out, and it just got worse

Absolutely appalling customer service. Do not use. The last time I ordered from them they forgot one of my dishes but I thought I would give them another chance and ordered with them tonight. Mistake. Yet again they forgot one of the dishes. I ran out to the delivery driver and he said “oops I gave it to the last customer.” So he said I would have to call the restaurant and can I not just get double next time I order. I said no as I wouldn’t use them again. So after a couple of minutes I called the restaurant to check and they said it would take 10 mins. After 10 mins I called back and the member of staff was so rude to me I could not believe it. I asked for a refund and he said he isn’t giving me anything as I am still getting the food. I said the rest of the food would be cold by the time it got there. He said I have to speak to just eat (as that it where we ordered through) to get a refund as he isn’t giving me anything. He asked if I understood his language and laughed at me down the phone. If you want poor service then go here. Just eat were great and got our refund for us, but the customer service at Jasmine Garden is disgusting.

Not sure what the set up is here. Its a pizza joint, you have to look hard to realise they also serve Chinese from here too. I ordered on Just eat like many do so may not realise this. Food quality no good.

Quality of food? Worse possible ever. Chicken ChowMei With ONE piece of chicken as large as a one pound coin. Speed: Order placed at 10:47 received at 13:25, and yes the driver didn't want to get out of his car, so I had to get down there... Never ever again.
