Simply seafood at the warren wood in Epping Forest

I decided to venture somewhere new with my dog and happened across The Warren Wood. What a great place? I can’t remember the last time I saw a pool table in a pub! Great atmosphere, loads of seating. And dog friendly!Would definitely recommend popping in when passing or walking in the forest. The beer is inexpensive and there’s even a seafood stall next door!

This pub is perfect for a drink after a dog walk or to watch the Football / Rugby. They show all the Live sports with a great atmosphere, great music too! All the staff are super friendly and helpful. A true friendly traditional pub with a pool table a lovely outside seating area. TVs in every corner so you don’t miss a thing.

Come to this pub regularly with my family- It’s dog friendly- Very welcoming great place to drink Pop in Thanks for a great service as always Love it because you can watch all the great live Football games and rugby too. Bar staff are highly helpful and the service is excellent. The crowd are very friendly and welcoming to everyone new or old I highly suggest you try it.

Nick1072 has this place nailed. It is full of terrifying people whose gaze you must avoid. Outside is ok, but no garden. Sure they are really nice people really. Of the 15 plus beers available, could not see any 5% plus. The garage next door does really good deals on the 5% plus stuff.

Place is always full even during the day. Mostly old men, probably builders due to the rusty old vehicles blocking the main road and causing chaos for drivers trying to exit the garage. OK if you don't mind being stared at.

Had a great night in there on Friday was made to feel welcomed by both sides of the bar , a proper boozer , will go again soon

What can i say - fabulous friendly and fast ! I needed a caterer for a big event i was holding and my caterers cancelled due to bad weather .... I called the stall and within half an hour i had a better catering service on board at half the price ! The food was unreal ... the service second to none ,,, and alot of happy bellys ! Thank you for your amazing service and food ... if i could give 10 stars i would ! Helen xxx

I wandered in with two friends Thursday daytime, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma cooking prawns. The seafood stall was getting busy it had a great atmosphere, I had prawns, halloumi, garlic, peppers on skewers, My friend had the mussels and scallop roll and we shared some crab sticks, So delicious and tasteful. We was undercover with heaters and was very warm. Will look forward to my next visit soon

Iv'e been coming here for years and the Seafood is Amazing with a great Variety of Seafood ( both hot & cold ). I come here with my Family who are now all Seafood lovers at least once a week . The Staff are always Smiling and are the 'Perfect' hosts . Would highly recommend and well deserves my 5 Stars .

We came into the Warren wood at 7:30 p.m. we attended by family. at the bar and the bar staff were very rude to us I ordered a double Baileys and he said he only served singles which is against licensing laws and a 2004 Licensing Act states that the baby should be served as a double. He refused to serve us and told us to leave

The pub is a blokey boozer, full of Essex locals but pretty friendly whenever I have visited. The seafood stall outside is a lovely addition and can get very busy at weekends, particularly in good weather. It's literally on the edge of Epping Forest so if you enjoy walking the dog or fancy rambling it's a brilliant pit stop. Lots of choice on the menu and seafood is cooked to order. I had squid in chilli and garlic and it was yummy. Couple the food with a nice drink from the pub and Bob's your uncle. You should check it out if you've some time to kill and fancy watching the world go by on a sunny day.

Lovely pub, good selection of beers, cider and spirits. Friendly staff. Pub serves hot food. Adjacent is a lovely seafood van that offers hot seafood, cold and good bacon rolls. Outside seating when weather is nice. Large car park, beware the pot holes!

After hearing many recommendations about this sea food stall I finally made my first visit I was overwhelmed by the service not to mention how tasty the food was Never heard of a see food stall doing hot food there delicious hot Halloumi has got me now being one of there number customers Excellent all round

I stopped at the seafood cafe on the side of the Warren pub around 2.15pm on Friday 19th January. I was made to feel that they were doing me a favour when I paid for an over priced roll, and when I got home I noticed that the 4 pound coins given to me in change were all old ones, that I cannot use. I will never use this cafe again, as I have literally been short changed. I am sure the pub is fine, but I was very disappointed with this shoddy treatment re the deliberate issue with the old pound coins as the change.

Great traditional pub, with a great seafood annex, if you want a beer and good atmosphere come here, if your looking for a gastro/ bistro don't.

Cannot fault this place! So much variety and choices I never know what to pick! Whether you just fancy a pint of prawns or need something more substantial like prawns in black bean with noodles, it always delivers beyond expectation! The kiln roasted honey and soy salmon is to DIE for! They are always happy to accommodate whatever you want and even provided me with raw halloumi and king prawn kebabs for me to cook myself on the BBQ, accompanied with chilli and Gaic butter for me to use whilst cooking.

This little gem is always busy and serves the best seafood i have had had locally. Hot and cold fish are served from thurs - sunday and its great because you can get a bottle of wine from the pub and enjoy it with your seafood. I spent three hours there grazing on the food including a whole dressed fresh crab, king prawns in chilli and garlic, scallops and pancetta, jellied eels, cockles, whelks lobster tails, kilm roasted salmon (which was mouthwatering) and prawn and halloumi kebabs.I was luck to get a table as it was MOBBED !!!!! It also is very reasonably priced so we spent the whole day there without spending a fortune. It is located right on the edge of Epping Forest, so it is a perfect end to a forest walk. This is my new favourite place. I recommend everyone to try it.
