I tried manor for the first time on new years day 2025 after seeing good reviews However I was highly disappointed it has got to be the worst chinese foods I've eaten chicken was still raw!! It was all full of grease it was terrible

Ordered food and it was reallt nice, but delivery is a problem as u can't track it with the online option. Driver was annoyed because he said he had to come twice, but I stated, please call my mobile on arrival as I live far from the door bell. He was so annoyed with me and this spoiled the entire process.

Son has taken over and given the place a facelift. Food quality was always good but the food we ate tonight was some of the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had. Check it out of you haven't already, highly recommend.

Used to love this Chinese.. only had it once since they apparently 'revamped' the Web site. Food in bag was actually dripping with grease !! Yuck!! And the rice was so stodgy I had to literally cut it with a knife. I'd been dreaming of my fave chinese all day....Well disappointed ☹️🥺 And what's with the £1.50 delivery and service charge?? Am I paying for their revamped updates. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. 😒

Hi my name is Sornia. I just had a delivery, OMG I had was to call and ask who cooked the food. When I tell you sah food nice food, and mouth watering big time. My son was on his way home from school one day, and saw this restaurant while he was on the school bus. He came home and said he wanted Chinese food for dinner... ever since then I can't stop buying this food. Mi sah the food bad... when it comes to Jamaicans, they are very hard to please with their food. I can assure you that this food is the bummmmm..., try it for yourselves. Nuff blessings Chef, and Staffs 👨‍🍳 🙏. One day I will come, and dine with my family.

We ordered here on Saturday. Honestly, I've never been so disappointed with a takeaway. I don't understand how it's possible to make food so bland yet have so many unpleasant overpowering flavours. The Chicken in Black Bean Sauce is an excellent example. It tasted exclusively of green peppers. Which is what made up about 90% of it. The smoked chicken was the only thing that was passably edible. Don't get me started on the chow mein. Absolutely terrible. We ended up eating less than a quarter of the £50+ order. Never again.

I have to say the service at The Manor is absolutely outstanding! The food is beautiful and I would not go to any other Chinese. I have to say, a rarity occurred where a part of my order was missing, but this was rectified with decorum when the owner of the establishment drove to my house to deliver a whole new order, and even threw in some extras! This is the level of customer service that everyone should aspire to, going above and beyond never goes unmissed so thank you so much to you all!

Last night I ordered some Chinese ,and my fryer squid was so hard and I broke my tooth,that staff have to try what food they give to customers,I will complain I no want to pay dentist bill,because they give me hard food ,to make damage in my mouth , I’m not a British so I don’t know what to do at the moment but I will find out,maybe I speak with someone like No win No fee or citizen advice,just is no fear I pay for food and the end I didn’t eat my dinner and one broken tooth 😢😢😢

I will keep this short and not so sweet. We’ve used Manor for a little while up to this review A few months prior to this order we actually went to the shop and got takeaway. The price was reasonable for what we always have for a family of 4. The food was generally good although they didn’t take much notice of the notes when ordering, ie… when ordering Singapore Rice Noodles we’d ask light spice as a child was eating and this was the only dish she could eat due to allergies. Well more often than not it would come hot. Nether the less back to the review. So to the order after the physical visit. We’re ordered via a well known app, only to find the cost has gone up tremendously. We thought of maybe it’sa one of mistake and paid. In the following order the amount has gone up even more. So I rolled back thru the orders of made in the past and Manor had added a minimum of 75p right up to £1.50 per item extra when ordering using the well known app. I also took information from their website menu. So what use to be an average cost between 38-40 pounds. Rocketed to 50-55 for danger Meal. I mean I know they gotta pay for taxi or some bloke using their own car for business use to deliver these. But that much of an increase is s bit of s P take. Unfortunately for them we’ve gone back to our original Chinese in Chigwell Row, yes the prices are slightly high, but the meals are far superior.

Customer service is extremely poor. Kung po dish is just sweet and sour sause with some chillis in it. We asked to see uf this was virrect and they just laughed at us which is extremely disrespectful

The food is better than average but the delivery times are very, very long. It is worth the wait and on exceptionally bad days the restaurant makes good on any promise of future discount or o cludrs extras when it finally arrives. If you want good food. Sometimes you have to wait.

Food is always lovely. One big problem is delivery, they either don't have enough drivers or take on too many delivery orders had to wait over 2 hours for food!!!

Our favourite Chinese takeaway. We have ordered from here regularly over several years. The food is fresh and delicious and much more natural tasting than many. Yes, delivery takes awhile on a Friday night but we are well aware so try to order in advance. They always tell us the wait time and usually it’s accurate. Customer service is always good over the phone, and when it’s delivered.

Very disappointed tonight, have used manor for years but sorry to say won't be again, tried different dishes tonight, shredded beef, well i don't know why its called shredded beef, I never found any beef in it, just a lot of crispy batter, all stuck together in the tray as if it had been there ages, ordered prawn balls, expected sauce with it, but didn't come, definitely changed over the last year, not for the best I'd say,

Good food used them for probably 20yrs. Delivery service always longer than your told & no communication food can be cold. Told them lots of times it never improves. Collect do not order delivery its hopeless.

Got a takeaway for my son. Two dishes came to almost £20 which is strikingly more than any other Chinese. The food was average and a bit greasy, and the oil tasted old. Not terrible but not worth the extra money.

Been having chinease from here for a couple of years. Has always arrived hot. On time . Plentiful and very tasty. I have tried many local Chinese and nothing else comes close. I am a tricky customer and always ask for things that are not standard and ask for certain dishes with no veg and up to now they are still spot on every time. Well done !

As a long standing customer returning to purchase food from this restaurant on a regular basis, I am absolutely appalled at the manners and attitude of the member of staff answering the telephone, who refused to give her name. This was not the first occasion that the member of staff has been rude. If the food wasn’t above average and there was more option locally I would most definitely recommend customers go elsewhere! .

Spent nearly £40, waited an hour and a half, Food was cold, and to be honest not very nice at all!! Chicken in yellow bean was disgusting, the sweet and sour sauce was literally just vinegar, the chips where hanging out of the top of the bag (freezing cold obv!) The delivery guy knew he had messed up as he basically through the food at me and run away!! My dad used to bring me here for special occasion and it used to be the best Chinese around (Mr Ken was always fantastic) but unfortunately that is a thing of the past, will not be ordering for here again!!!

Disappointing! Ordered £40 worth of food online, for it to be delivered cold and tasteless two hours later, following two phone calls chasing it! This certainly isn't how I was planning to spend my evening and neither should any of you! Will not be ordering again after today's experience. There are many other takeaways that provide much better service and value for your money.

Appalling wait times, was told 30 minutes for take away took 1 hour 10 minutes Avoid if you want to eat at a particular time. I have a 8 year grumpy child now who hasn’t eaten.

Don’t bother unless you are prepared to wait a long time. Placed order with this Chinese takeaway and had already waited 2.5 hours, tried to phone and couldn’t get through and obviously by then we were all really hungry, order confirmation 45min for delivery which wasn’t true. Finally got through on phone and told it was not even cooked yet, and we would have to wait another 1.5 hours. Advised how many orders they had to cook, well i suggest you take the amount you can cope with. We had to find somewhere else quickly because having to wait that time for our meal was ridiculous. If we had been told it would be 4 hours when ordering I certainly wouldn’t have bothered . We rate them 1 star for picking up the phone 1 hour later.

Bought chips from this takeaway, there was no salt or vinegar added, I request counter staff to add salt and vinegar in top of the chips, she took bag of chips backside of the kitchen area and after couple of minutes come out from the kitchen and handover me the bag of chips. When I came home I open the chips bag there was surprise for me, NO SALT and VINEGAR was added on the chips they just handover me the bag as it is just to save their salt and vinegar. Check your order before your leave this premises.

Very very poor service!! Order takes over an hour to arrive, food is Luke warm and have the order is missing!!! Call to speak to the manager and get told he's doesn't work there anymore. The girl on the phone sounds incredibly juvenile and has an attitude problem, doesn't seems to care and gives the rudest excuses! Avoid ordering in this shambles of a Chinese! They should be banned from deliveries!

Food turned up late and all the fish dishes came cold(fried squid and prawns) seems like I got someones leftovers. The only reason they get a 2 is because my wife enjoyed her ribs and the satay(even though it was cold)

Can’t fault the food here but I was shocked when I got home and opened my Cantonese spring rolls!! 4 of the skinniest spring rolls I have ever seen, prob the size of my ring finger and charged nearly a fiver!!! Come on Manor, you can do better then this, I wouldn’t mind if there was meat in there!!
