simla in Broxtowe

Nine of use visited Simla last night. The welcome was friendly and the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the food and we will definitely visit again. We highly recommend eating at Simla.

Great service. Really tasty curry, just extremely spicy so took ages to get through lol.

Lovely main courses. Poppadoms had a weird taste to them though.

2 different curry’s tried tonight. Both very nice . Keep up the great food quality . Really pleased with the food when we are spending hard earned money in this current expensive climate. Thank a lot

Ordered due to high review score despite being some distance from me. It lived up to expectations. Delivery was still quite quick despite the distance and the food was very good and somehow still hot.

would definitely recommend trying the garlic chilli chicken the best iv tried and the nans are always spot on too....... garlic fried rice on the menu would be nice but still rice is always nice

Chicken tikka was ok, the chicken korma was really not nice. Over salted, strange fishy taste at some points. Not nice, luckily had naan and starters. Wont be in a rush to order again, disappointing

Sorry but this was honestly one of the worst I have had. The keema rice was absolutely awful, soggy and clumpy, the curry was bland and absolutely nothing like a butter chicken, chicken was in huge chunks, dry and had a weird taste. Hugely disappointed and pretty angry at the waste of my money.

This was a disappointment. Five of us went in for dinner, it was not busy. They had some sort of buzzer alarm at the bar which might have been to do with the front door. It was very loud and kept going off...not the end of the world but not conducive with having a nice meal. The food was average; I have a lamb starter and it was grey and dry. Could be loads better with just a bit more care and consideration.

I unfortunately was not impressed. the keema was mince slush with a whole load of chunky tomatoes peppers and onions. Never in my life have I had keema like this. The chicken was ok

Ordered 3 meals for a little reunion. What we had delivered was vile. We will never order here again. WE DO NOT RECOMEND THEM.

mixed up the lamb and fish currys so a pescatarian got lamb in their curry

I had family come to stay so we ordered a delivery. We all looked forward to sitting down to a lovely Indian meal.... I wish I hadn't bothered. The lamb dansak was a korma-ish looking swilly, watered-down liquid with a few pieces of very dark, tough, lamb qubes and a slice of tinned pineapple, nothing else! Indescribe and very unpleasant taste. The tandori mixed meat was not tandori and the lamb was too hard to eat! Shocking food! Never ever getting food from here again. Very disappointed.

Absolutely amazing - food arrived super hot, and the delivery was fast too. This is now my go to Indian!

Absolutely amazing delicious food, the chef takes sooo much pride in what he cooks & how it’s served. Everything is incredibly freshly made! The lamb is so tender, the chicken soft & juicy! This place used to be amazing many years ago then yep , management structure went downhill. I’ll be honest I avoided it. So this is how honest my review is, went back 3 years adoc. Then after that went regularly… by far the No 1 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 honestly I’ve had takeaways & dined in! Always as equally good!!! Everyone here is amazing! BUT the chef! 👌 he really really cares! #priceless Thank you 🙏👌

Soggy chips, curry was bland, the chicken was tough and full of gristle. Nann was stodgy and flavourless. would not eat from here again. Very disappointed with our meal over all.

Ordered tandoori mixed grill. Arrived as just lots of random pieces of meat in an awful curry sauce. Nowhere near a tandoori mixed grill. Avoid.

the starter was nice full of flavour the curry where terrible they were very very salty to the point that most of it went in the bin the chicken biriani had 2 or 3 pieces of chicken the rest was rice bulked out with lots of big pieces of vegetables sauce that came with it again had loads of salt in it the best thing about it were the nans we had 1 cheese and galic that was beautiful and 1 keema nan that was edible too

First time dining at Simla and was very impressed. Food was served hot and was very tasty. Also good value. Will definitely be back and may well try a takeaway also ;)

Very disappointed I paid for poppadoms and pickles that didn't get delivered. The tandoori chocked was not properly marinated and there was hardly any of it. The curry wasn't very flavourful. The naan bread and lamb samosa was nice but for £40 it was not worth it at all. The delivery woman knocked on my door an hour later to say they had forgotten poppadoms and pickles. But it had been an hour, my kids had eaten and gone up to bed.

Very dissatisfied. I ordered a korma, something I've ordered several times from Simla cos it was always great. Tonight however it's so spicy I've had to throw it away. I called the restaurant and they've agreed to refund me which is great. Disappointed though as my last two order were sub par.

Fantastic!!!!! Food Quality Was Amazing, Prices Were Great, Delivery Time Excellent. The Food Actually Fed 5 Of Us, 2 Adults & 3 Children, And We Ordered The 2 People Serving Of Tandoori Special!!! Cannot Complain At All. Excellent Quality Of Everything, And A Perfect Mix In The Special For Children As Well, Not Too Spicy But Spicyer Portions For The Adults. By Far The Best Indian Food We Have Had To Date Very Happy With Our Order. Thankyou To All Staff At Simla Restaurant. We Will Order Again.

Good portion size, taste really good, fresh and the mild is actually mild (not spicy) the medium spicy is really medium and would recommend for beginners. Loved it and we’ll be ordering again.

The food was a joke, for what was paid, the only thing we liked was the naan bread. If anything the food was offensive in terms of authenticity and feel ripped off.

Very nice food, delivered hot and earlier than the time estimated which is an added bonus, an item was substituted as they had ran out but at least they called ahead of time to inform, will look forward to ordering again.

Good portions great tasting food

Been a couple of times over the last month. Always go early as don’t like to eat late. Service is excellent , the food and presentation is excellent. Can’t fault it . What a find .

We ordered a curry for delivery Saturday night. Our friends had recommended Simla, although we haven’t ordered from here in a while. The food came hot and was absolutely delicious 😋 Highly recommend 10/10!

My Daughter visited me over Christmas and from multiple recommendations booked a table on Christmas Eve, Honestly so glad I did, ambience was perfect along with crisp decor. The staff from the moment the front door was opened for us were attentive, very charming and first class. The food was out of this world, very enjoyable curry with plenty of rice to compliment and enough Naan to feed four. Complimentary Popadom & Pickles was unexpected but a lovely touch to start a beautiful all round experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to all, along with my friends & family

Order had item missing no samosas

Ordered for a NYE delivery, assumed it would be busy so put in an order at 2pm for a 6pm delivery…order arrived at 6.30, with around half of the order missing (£13 of the £28.50 order unaccounted for, which was one of the curries, all of the rice and a starter)…called the restaurant, who first took 5 minutes finding my order, then when they finally did, told me they’d get a replacement ‘straight out’…nothing by 8pm, called them up, only to be told that they couldn’t send any other food out as ‘we had requested a refund’ (we hadn’t), but it had taken me to call them 90 minutes later to find this out…extremely poor service, certainly won’t bother making an order with them again in the future

Offers the Buffet on “every Monday” for £10, yet we turned up and the updated menu said £15, then when we asked for it they “weren’t doing the buffet tonight”. Okay food, nice beer but £6 is steep for Kimberley.

Simlas was the restaurant that started off my love for Indian food, i haven’t had a meal for ages & was really disappointed. The chicken was dry & the sauce was watery. Just get back to making beautiful food.

Really disappointed with whole meal. Food is cold, bread wrapped in plastic bag. Food has no taste and tastes like watered down curry so bland. Will definitely not be ordering from here again

Tasty food. But I ordered a dansak and got a Korma! It tasted good tho. Plenty of it, and free poppadoms and pickles were welcome. 20% off a £20 spend was also a good deal.
