I’ve lived in the village all my life I have been to the restaurant many times. Tonight’s take away tasted old….. reheated…… watery…. Nothing like the restaurant. I ordered Popadoms only one stale broken one arrived. I was assuming popadoms was plural. Feel sad about this review

Food was nice once it arrived. Just arrived late and wasn’t hot.

Curry tasted okay but it was just luke warm. The pilau rice tasted good but again was luke warm. The naan bread was cold and rubbery. The can of coke was room temperature and not chilled. Very little of the food was eaten.

Called in for a takeaway while staying in Felpham. Excellent biryani, naan and saag aloo. Quick service (the restaurant was quiet). Would recommend.

Haven't had an Indian meal since we moved here so wasn't sure what to expect from Simla but it was lovely.

Visited on Monday night, on a late whim of what to do and where to go. We ate as a couple and arrived as a large group were finishing their meal. We were treated well, and served very efficiently. The food was fresh and tasty. Chicken Madras and Prawn Naga were delicious, with a nice heat.A relaxed atmosphere and lovely gentleman took good care of us. Would definitely recommend. Great food, good portions and very well priced drinks and food.

Never showed up.said they cancelled the order but didn’t tell me and left me having to chase my money back off just eat….pathetic service,avoid at all costs unless u want aload of hassle,last order supposedly lost his car keys and took over 2 hours to come….

Our usual Indian restaurant in Felpham is currently closed for refurbishment so we decided to try the Simla Tandoori for our take away Indian dinner. We firstly stopped off to place our order and were asked to come back in 20 - 30 minutes or so to pick up our food. No problem. We ordered onion bhajis (4 per serving), chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and pulao rice. I also asked for some popadums and a little tub of lime pickle. All the food came piping hot and was superb. In fact we had to wait a couple of extra minutes when picking up our food as the onion bhajis were made as close to pick up time as possible for extra freshness. Admittedly we only came here for the take away so can't judge what it would be like to eat here. But it all seemed reasonable enough if you're not expecting The Ritz.

Took 50 mins on a collection order and they forgot my bahjis. Curry was alright, I've had better, nann was a bit chewy.

I spent a long time walking around Bognor Regis and Felpham looking for somewhere to eat on an Easter Monday evening. As time ticked by I became desperate and, after some hesitation due to its unprepossessing exterior and the fact there were only 3 people in there, I took the plunge and dived into Simla. …And was not disappointed. The food felt home cooked - indeed I could hear it being prepared for me because I was sitting close to the kitchen door. It took time (not too much, mind) and the chef was obviously taking care. I had 4 simple dishes including a delicious fresh courgette side dish, mildly spiced, and a Naga version of tarka / tadka dal. The oil used for cooking was clearly fresh and not too plentiful and everything had a tasty home cooked feel to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and , if I lived locally, would certainly come back for more. The service was also very laid back and friendly. 10/10 for a simple, tasty meal cooked with care and sometimes that really hits the spot. Price was very reasonable too.

No pupadom we’re delivered yet charged

We attended as a group on a Sunday evening. We were the only customers at the time. The tablecloths were filthy and covered in food stains. Toilets were dirty and party members refused to use them. I had a bland chicken tikka masala, nann bread and pilau rice. The dish was not majorly hot (temp), chicken was rubbery and questionable. Could not finish. In the early hours I became very unwell with food poisoning and have now been informed other members of the group had upset stomachs. I would never return and would advise you to avoid unless you want food poisoning. Restaurant was contacted-reply was sorry but nobody else has reported being ill. The only reason for this i feel is that they locked the door as we left and they had no other customers. AVOID ****

The food was really good but we didn’t get our garlic naan which left one of us disappointed especially as they don’t have rice with their meal.

Love this restaurant! Delicious, tasty food every single time. Always arrives within 20 mins, but I wouldn't mind if it took an hour as the quality is really good.

Lovely meal, except only 2 samosas for same price as 4 onion bhajis! Plenty of food, and refreshing salad and mint yoghurt dressing.

The food was tasteless, watery and generally horrendous, the only good bit was the garlic naan.

We have just had 1 of the best take outs ever. Never used this restaurant before and it was a welcome surprise. Lamb madras and keema naan for me curry was nicely spiced. Hubby had chick tikka marsala tikka rive garlic naan and poppadoms. He finished the lot which is unheard of and said it was the best he had had. It was hot and delivered quickly. The only negative was that the mint yogurt was warm and past its best. But it did not spoil our meal at all. Would recommend highly.

Very nice but was disappointed with the rice it was short grain and stodgy normally its always long grain and also poppadoms were stale could not eat them.

Food arrived 30 minutes late and although it was somehow still hot, it tasted absolutely dire. Small portion size on one meal, incorrect item sent on another. Vegetable biriyani contained one quarter of a potato, some grey looking peas and 3-4 green beans. I would say the food was bland, but truly they tasted of nothing. I won't be ordering from here again.

Food was just over 15 mins late. However, it was a delicious curry. I did also order mixed dips and only cucumber turned up ( wanted mango chutney!) Would order again though as was very tasty

Decided to go for a meal with friends, and it was fully enjoyable. We each had a main course, poppadoms, house white wine ( very pallitable) and cobra beer. None of us were disappointed with any of the food or drink. In a fact we would return again in the near future, we tried a takeaway first and was luvly.

Delivery turned up early, which was a bonus. Food was hot, tasty & to a good standard. Only one criticism, the Rogan Josh was not hot (in taste) in any way. Apart from that, very happy with the meal.

Chicken Korma was like two portion's of Diarrhoea and the chicken smelled and was like chewing Rubber, the Nam breads where the same a bit like chewing a flavoured rubberier ring. The family Meal that was brought turned out to be Horrendous experience. Very Disappointed with whole take out order from this restaurant, will never use this place again.

we visited the Simla with some friends and were really happy with the service and food, it was nice and hot and very tasty would recommend and will definitely be going back. Shame it doesn't get busier but I think this little restaurant gets forgotten about being in a village. Would recommend, so give it a try !

My partner's father had phoned ahead to book a table... Upon arrival, restaurant was empty, but, being a Monday evening, it didn't cause too much concern. (Prefer bit of space!)The food seemed reasonable, but later that evening, and over next 24-48 hours, we ALL suffered upset stomachs.This is the only venue where myself, partner, and her parents had eaten together, and would suggest something may have been amiss? Naturally, it is difficult to pinpoint where the issue might have been, but, the aftermath was undesirable!

the sagg panner was basically just grated cheese sprinkled on unseasoned spinach.

We have used the Simla regularly for quite some time, however after this evenings experience we will be looking elsewhere. We ordered promptly and it took 45 minutes for the order to arrive - slower than usual. What made matters worse is that they had not included an order for plain boiled rice - inexcusable. It is one of the most annoying things for takeaway clients - restaurants that can't even be bothered to check an order properly before sending it out. It totally ruined our whole dining experience and I had to use rice from my wife's order. After a long week this experience was inexcusable. Get it right Simla - there is plenty of local competition and we will be exploring these. A good customer is difficult to gain and very easy to lose........

Originally notified 40-60 min waiting time, then changed to 1 hour 20, then arrived 15 mins later than that. Total waiting time 1 hour 35, unacceptable. Food very average. Disappointing.
