Communication was good re the lateness of delivery. Food was tasty, but the Madras was more like a Vindaloo.

Unfortunately the food here wasn't for us, we ordered mostly lamb dishes. The meat was very tough and the sauces were quite bland. Quite expensive menu too. Non alcoholic beer almost the same price as alcoholic beer. Bit slow to take our order.

alex couldn't make it in the end really cos got two kids now and both sick annoying plus jamie told him to sodd off in whatsapp group plus also alex probably didnt want "gbh of the earhole" for going out when the mrs is looking after the kids Was nice I must admit I ordered 6 poppadoms straight away knowing the lads would want that and waiter siad "sure poppadoms coming right up" he apologies (different guy) for lack of 0% lager and did gto on about it a lot nice gesture its the little thing that count but dont think jamie and josh too bothered as its oinly zero percent lager. I had a beer which prob bad idea cos of my cold and i thought i would hope for the old wives tale that curry ends a copld but didnt seem to be the case next day plus josh has covid now dont think i gave it to him hope not anyway. food was not delicious but next one down from that which is 4 stars - service generally good and the guys always try the best to make me feel welcome and say make yourself at home please finally evening Finished with a flourish with the hot towles to wipe down thank you but have to admit is good curry but is not HEAD AND shoulders above reema but that wasnt open cos i think all their waiters play snooker or darts on mondays sometimes you just have to unwind so cant blame them. BengAL would have potentially got 5 stars but not quite good enough plus none of the straff wearing christmas theme which could have got them extra points 4 stars come back next time (sayjng that to myself) ps jamie got chicken dansak

My husbands curry was very good My chicken tikka was very dry and some of it quite hard - I think it was re-heated from the day before. So mine was awful and my husbands was great

Onion barjis were burnt! Narn bread burnt ! Poperdoms were chewy. Used this place for years but our last two orders were rubbish. Will be looking elsewhere in future.

Very good local Indian. Have had good takeaways from here. Good service. Run by great people. Just not quite as good as Reema down by the seafront

After hearing such good things, I thought I would try this restaurant….never again. Papadom was smashed basically crumbs but what you could eat left a foul greasy taste…fine, try the mixed tandoori….greasy horrible taste, the bhuna…horrible greasy aftertaste with watery grease running on plate. Only palatable item was the pilaw rice. Will never use this restaurant again.

Stale soggy poppodoms, over cooked onion bhajis and sag paneer was bland. Not their usual standard.

Unfortunately the entire order was of very poor standard. Both curries were minimum flavour but spiced heavily to hide the lack of flavour. There was a centimetre of oil across the top of both curries. I’ve never seen so much oil on a dish. The keema naan was stale but burnt. We ended up throwing it all in the bin. I was a regular customer of the Bengal for many years but something has changed and it’s really disappointing to see the level they have dropped to.

Chicken was well overcooked and the onion bhaji was very dry. The incorrect rice was delivered as well. Not the usual high standard we normally enjoy from the Bengal.

Disappointed in the food, have used regularly for years but the past two orders have not been great. There must have been less then a breast of chicken in the curry, tiny pieces. Not the quality it has been in the past will be going elsewhere.

Lovely food as always with only one Criticism, the last couple of orders the chicken is a bit dry, before now it’s been juicy and perfect, not sure if you’ve changed something or are cooking it differently but it was definitely better before now. Other than that great food 👍👍

Food was good but not great. Very oily/greasy

We visited the Bengali Tandoori recently as was staying at nearby Premier Inn ang my wife prefers vegitarian food. The restaurant was not busy perhaps expected for a Sunday evening. The food was OK the Garlic chilli chicken was very tasty although the Vegitable byriani was quite oily. I have to say the Paswari Nann very wholesome. I did think the drinks a little expensive £8.00 odd for a small beer and tonic water. The most disappointing part of the visit was the state of the toilet which can only be described as un-hygienic. In a food outlet this has to be one of the main measures and a reflection of the practices within the venue.

Curries were greasy and the onion bajee were not crisp. Edible but wouldn't recommend

The food arrived earlier than expected however we did not enjoy it at all. The naan was dry, The biriani was supposed to be chicken, not chicken tikka. Could of excused that but it was dry and chewy. The chutney was like water. Won't be back.

Amazing tasty food . Really nice delivery driver who rings mobile rather then door bell . Keeps my little one sleeping . Highly recommend . Eating in at bengal is even better

The food was gross, uncooked and stale naan, gone off dipping sauce, it was fizzy! The tikka masala didn't taste like any I've ever had before and the chicken was incredibly dry. The Poppadoms were stale and chewy! Really disappointed as I used to order from here all the time and had told my friend it was the best curry house in the area but what a let down! Asked for some refund considering the food was clearly old and have heard nothing back from them. Hence this review. Hope you do better!

Always great food with good atmosphere and friendly staff. There Garlic chill chicken dry my favourite is the only local restaurant which does it perfectly.

The Madras was really bland and lacked any real flavour and spice. The prawn Puri on the other hand was delicious and well cooked.

Food was delivered late, not warm, and the standard has slipped. The chicken in our curries is tough as old boots, and the sauces are watery. Part of the order was missing, restaurant didn't seem to care much. Voting with our feet here.

I am n out happy I haven’t got my last 2 orders so went 2 nights with having to spend more money on dinner and I haven’t even had a refund of my sunbway order and wimpy as they never showed up

I've been here a number of times both dine in and takeaway. THe food is always good quality, the Bhajis are masive and the Madras is delicious.

. Bland, boring, nondescript sauces. Overcooked meat and not enough of it. Smaller portions than other restaurants too. Won't use them again unless something changes and improves. A real shame because we used to recommend this place. Really disappointing.

Been going to the bengal for years and it’s normally great but I really didn’t enjoy it this time.

I called the restaurant and as always was spoken to in a kind respectfull manner. Explanation given and food arrived hot and tasty 5mins later. My impatience to eat haha. Driver was super friendly.

Very comfortable restaurant, not noisy when busy and the food is excellent with very attentive staff.

We have had take-away from this restaurant many times but the one this evening was very poor indeed. The chicken was tough and the naan bread inedible. Obviously there was Different chef in charge. I hope this was a freak meal!

Unfortunately the containers on top had become squashed into those underneath and caused them to leak, so everything was in a bit of mess. But, it was delivered on time and what we got to eat, tasted very nice. In particular the biriyani rice was light and most enjoyable.

First time ordering from here and very disappointed. Both meals had loads of bland, flavourless, non spicy sauce and small amounts of meat. The lamb didn’t taste of lamb in the passanda (sauce was more like a thick grainy gravy). The bits of chicken in the tikka masala were dry and the sauce was a tasteless blended tomato sauce. 2 overcooked onion bajis (over priced) and mushroom baji was tasteless. On a positive, the naan breads were both ok.

Curries delivered bang on time. They were absolutely delicious. Thank you Bengal Tandoori, we'll be back for more soon!

Absolutely shocking experience in this restaurant. The food quality is very poor. Worse than the food is the manager. When my partner complained on my behalf about a vegetable curry, ordered as a main that had three very small potatoes in it, about 5 green beans and was swimming in an oily curry sauce, the manager raised his voice to tell us: ''This is what a curry is. A curry is sauce''. My partner and I eat and cook a lot of curry from scratch and I come from an Indian background so I felt incredibly insulted. The chicken was dry - something that people who cook curry properly would know is almost impossible. The overall quality was poor - the ingredients and using sauce to appear to bulk up a dish. One of the waiters did apologise as we paid our bill but at that point it was too late to claw back our Saturday evening.

Stayed at the premier inn across the road and was looking for a place to eat. This is right on the doorstep. We read the reviews and felt a little dubious at first but decided to give it a try. The food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Arrived on time to be told I had to pay £16.50 for a load of poppadoms I didn’t order ( call history to prove ) … driver refused to give me my meal before he had driven back to check with his manager.. come back 15 minutes later with a load of cold food! Absolutely shocking service from a local restaurant - will never use again.

Was visiting the area and this was the nearest Indian restaurant. Felt like a throwback to the 1980's. Service was ok and food was ok. Needs some maintenance in some areas. Toilet was very dirty.

Korma was lovely but the vindaloo was awful! Worst vindaloo I’ve ever eaten. No flavour, tough chicken and mass excess oil (it was cooked to quickly on a high heat) won’t be eating here again EVER!

Bengal Tandoori was my local restaurant for years and the staff here were always very friendly. Their service is exceptional and that makes it a super popular restaurant for locals.

Something went wrong with delivery and the food was not hot enough when it arrived. Papadams were getting soggy. We love the restaurant but something went wrong this time.

We normally eat in but decided to get take out tonight.. very disappointed and won’t be ordering again. Chicken korma was watery and bland, chicken was over cooked and popadoms were in pieces. Watered down mango chutney and no chopped onion with the mixed starter which was dry. Poor quality and flavoured food.

Items missing and food delivered cold

I don't like giving bad reviews but sorry I don't like it here! And I thought it was hard to go wrong with curry... I've eaten in and ordered multiple times but the atmosphere was damp and the food lacks flavour - probably because it's so oily, which makes my stomach feels gross. I thought I'd try a few times/items but I've come to the same verdict and avoid eating here.

Ordered dinner for myself and my husband for him getting home, food came 20 minutes early. Our romantic meal out the window and food stone cold by the time we ate it for the time planned. What a waste of money
