The selection of food and ale/lager here is second to none - really tasty complementary dishes, coupled with wonderful attentive service from the staff. The modern artsy setting makes it a perfect new go-to dining spot with friends. 10/10!

We visited with family and friends hoping for a taste of Turkish food and we were not disappointed. Flavours were amazing. So much care and attention had gone into presenting the dishes. Nothing was too much trouble. The hummus was the best I’ve ever had. We had a large variety of dishes but it’s possible just to have a snack. The pistachio coffee to finish was awesome.

What an absolute (Turkish) delight! Amazing authentic Turkish food combined with excellent service sets the tone for any evening here. Food was delicous and arrived promptly with the chef personally explaining the flavours and dishes to us - a service hard to find nowadays. Could not reccomend this place enough and I am already looking forward to my next visit :)

I was at Birmingham. My acquaintances recommended me to visit and taste Simarik's dishes. We went to Cork & Cage on 1373 Pershore Road and I ordered humus. The best humus i have ever had in Birmingham. I also recommend you to visit this cozy place and taste the delicious meals of the friendly Simarik.

The food is simply amazing and truly special. My favourites are the meatballs - kofte as is the Turkish name for it, the aubergines with cheese and the deserts - both the pear in sirup and the baklava are heavenly 🤩🤩 The chef clearly knows his job. I became a regular, weekly customer now.

Holy molly what a place to eat. Every single dish in the menu is yelling "authenticity". At first I was a bit confused as I know very little about Turkish cuisine, but I quickly realised that there is nothing to worry about. Pick any random plate, because frankly it doesn't matter: they're all wonderful. I've been there 3 times, took one or two different dishes every time, never the same, and I finished it all to the last trace. Everything is made from scratch, products are fresh, you can really feel that the chef is not chaining his dishes but rather, focusing on details. Rami comes out of his kitchen from time to time, to serve the plates, and is very attentive to whatever experience you have. I think you can really see that this is his very motivation. A true wonder. There is also a good selection of craft beers, which I recommend as well.

Simarik was is an absolute delight to beheld. The name comes from the Turkish - 'to be spoiled' - and to be quite honest, after my first trip there, I felt spoiled beyond belief. The restaurant is nestled within the confines of its venue, 'Cork & Cage', fully visible on the immensley stretching Stirchley high street. The menu is as authentic as it gets. Each item is written in its source language and, if chosen correctly (i.e. by choosing everything), you have an absolute feast ahead of you. After sampling the Chef's (Rami) homemade hummus, I guarantee you will be craving it for days and weeks (and months) after! In fact, you will feel guilty picking up a pot of your local supermarket's hummus after tasting something so deliciously light, flavoursome and comforting! I can genuinely say, this may be without doubt the best hummus I have ever tasted (and no one is paying me to say this!). Moving through the menu, Rami provides a spectrum of flavours, colours and tastes from a cuisine so foreign to the UK. With Simarik, you are transported from region to region in Turkey, along the spice road, and can sample traditional mezzes associated with the country's rich culture. Practically speaking, the menu will not set you back at all. The most expensive dish comes in at around £10 and to be honest, this is a steal considering the portion sizes. With a cashless, order-at-the-bar set up, the modern approach to dining is seamless and tentative. If you're looking for a place to go for a coffee and a catch up (over the ridiculously, deliciously sweet baklava, yes you read correctly, there is also baklava!), or a lunch time spot to enjoy some fresh kofte (meatballs), or a dinner with friends/family, Simarik's menu will provide you with everything you need. It is a great sight to see such an independent, home-grown, authentic restaurant come to an area starved of frseh, modern-day cuisines. Therefore, I urge you to make the trip as soon as feasibly possible to Cork & Cage in Stirchley to try all of mezze, coffees and sweet treats provided by Simarik's profoundly, enticing menu... You'll be spoiled for choice.

So far the best Mediterranean food I have ever had in Stirchley and even in Birmingham. The dishes are traditionally prepared and served nicely by the Turkish chef

Liked the free bread platter given whilst you wait for your food. The vine leaves were great not had them with lemon before but adds to the flavour. Lamb Shish Wrap was tasty and very filling.
