Decent Chinese takeaway. A bit dingy inside but the food is ok

Closed on Tuesdays The Best Takeaway in Devon Awesome authentic taste which is truly mouthwatering and we look forward to our treat once a month. My recommendations are to start seaseme prawn toast chicken skewers and main chicken chow mein special fried rice dry curry sauce chip's extra crispy and go on then throw a couple of banana fritters in for desert YOU WON'T be Dissapointed. 😋😋🍲🍜🍛🍤🥠🍌🍌

Been a loyal customer since we moved here, made us fall in love with Chinese cuisine again but spent £19.60 and got no prawn crackers even though it was 40p away. they normally let us have done so it was quite a disappointment tbf

WOW.....the food was AMAZING!!!. Fresh lovely cooked and really tasty.. The best 'Chicken Kung Po' I have ever tasted...Sweet and sour chicken and spare ribs and Thai curry, were so delicious......we had more than enough and it was excellent value... Many thanks for a delicious meal....a shame I could only rate 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟➕

So disappointed, £28 order. Beef in black bean sauce so bland and beef had a odd taste. Beansprouts no flavour at all, prawn toast bland and greasy. Most flavour from the whole meal was the half raw onion in the black bean sauce. Positive, chicken balls large but no flavour at all. A lot of money wasted and a huge disappointment 😞

They were busy. Ordered on line. Delivery said 60 to 90 mins. Eventually came. Fabulous!! From the free prawn crackers which were great. Salt n pepper chicken Capital ribs and Crispy shredded beef. All fab!! Best takeaway by far! Even if you have to wait!!

On holiday and wanted Chinese. Looked at reviews and chose Silver House. Excellent. Every meal of our large order very tasty. Would certainly recommend. 5 stars!!

Generous, delicious food at a reasonable price

Good was lovely. Had while we was at Devon cliffs and delivered to the park entrance. When we go back to Devon cliffs we will certainly be ordering from here again.

Surprised how quickly my food was ready after ordering. Then realised why when I got home. Undercooked to the point of being raw in places Wasn’t busy so no Idea why my order was rushed. I won’t return

Great Chinese takeaway. The food was piping hot and cooked fresh. The large portion of chicken fried rice fed two and a side for a third. The lemon chicken had loads of flavour and the chicken chow mein was fresh and easily fed two people. The prices were reasonable and food was served quickly when ordered in the takeaway. A recommend little Chinese.

I often try Chinese take away wherever I am. I was going to take something away at a kebab shop next to them but I couldn’t resist trying this shop and it was absolutely right. I ordered Roast Duck Fried Rice here and was really amazed with its crispy taste. I live in Nottingham and have tried many Chinese take away there, but they are my best so far, at least for something with duck fried rice.

I always order Chinese from here but not any more! Was dry tough & inedible could not eat it very disappointing so never again..

We are down to visit my my mum for the evening from Exeter and decided to have a takeaway Just had a delivery arrived within 15 minutes best Chinese meal we’ve had in years! All freshly cooked and adjusted to my request for ‘extra chilli’ with my black bean chilli beef -have highly recommend

This is now my favorite chinese in exmouth. Friendly and cheerful staff. Very quick turn around on orders. Take care payments (£15+). Couldn't ask for more really.

We popped in for 2 Pancake Rolls to eat on our way to the Pub. Yum! The tastiest Pancake Rolls we've eaten for ages. Lovely crispy coating and packed full of beansprouts, pork and prawns. A couple passed us by and said the Pancake Rolls looked good and they said they would go and get one! Definitely recommend this Chinese and we'll be soon!

Tried to order by phone no answer they don't pick up! went in person normally OK but not tonight all meat we ordered even ribs were tough as old boots dry & inedible shame don't know what happened.

Drove here as says open on Tuesday from 5pm on Google, to get there and sign says closed on Tuesday in window, sort your online presence out.

Excellent, the food is great, the delivery service is spot on, they always come when they say they will. I can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend.

Great takeaway, but card payments have to be over £15 and I only spent £11.50 so had to go to the nearest cash point to get cash.

This is one of the worst meals we have eaten as two families from two different areas of the country I wouldn’t recommend

Fantastic food ! Another stunning takeaway again last night! Amazing tasting king prawn Kung po. Duck chow mein was delicious. Chicken curry full of flavour and nicely spiced. Quick delivery, excellent service. Won’t go any where else!

I'll start with the good points. I ordered online and was given a delivery slot. The food turned up during the allotted time and the delivery driver was very friendly and smiley. Now the bad bits. I ordered a 1/4 Crispy Aromatic Duck with pancakes etc. The duck arrived off the bone, already shredded into small pieces, and the bits of duck skin were soggy. There was nothing 'crispy' about it. The accompanying sauce was far too sweet and there was very little spring onion. The duck wasn't tasty and I threw away about 2/3 of the whole dish. Next the Capital Spare Ribs. The meat was very chewy. I'm used to having ribs whereby the meat is practically falling off the bone! Next day I cooked the remaining ribs slowly in the oven for around 40 mins. STILL chewy so the rest went in the bin. The Sweet and Sour King Prawns HK Style were quite nice but not nice enough to warrant another order

Best Chinese takeaway in Exmouth and the south west even.

They could provide take-away menus to keep rather than having to go on-line, and the reception area could be a lot more inviting but the food is very good which is the important thing I guess !

Have tried three others in Exmouth but they simply do not come up to the value that Silver Sea House gives. They are either more expensive or not the same quality that Silver Sea House gives you.

Ordered takeaway at 1900 for delivery 2000-2030. When it hadn't arrived, phoned at 2035. Apologies---it is on its way! Still had not arrived at 2100, so phoned again. More apologies---it arrived at 2110! May have been a one off, but as it was our first time, very disappointing. Sweet and sour prawns were nice, but the duck curry was like duck in gravy! Did not resemble a curry, sadly.

Consistently good quality and excellent value! Orders over £20 get free crackers. Special fried rice is bleddy ansom!

This is our favourite Chinese takeaway in Exmouth. The food is lovely and the home delivery service is very good and reliable . Friendly staff and good service.

Our only regret is this place is 2.5 hours away from home for us! Hands down best sweet and sour chicken balls we've had in a long time. Singapore noodles also great as was the chicken with mushrooms. Everything hot and fresh, great value for money too. Portions aren't huge but they are generous enough and it's nice to have just the right amount. Highly recommended!

Staying at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park and was very impressed by recent reviews so thought we would give it a try and were not disappointed. The chicken chow mein was the best we have tasted. The pieces of chicken were large and cooked to perfection! Along with the crispy beef and special fried rice. Delivery was prompt and they were happy to deliver to the park as long as you can collect from the main security gate. The delivery gentleman was very polite and friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for the food and service you will receive.

We had been staying nearby at a campsite and did ALOT of research into a good Chinese. After not alot of luck on TA we found this gem on whilst searching Google maps. It's overall rating was great and at closer inspection the recent reviews apart from one error were really good. Placing an order of the phone was quick and easy, we were given an exact price and estimated time for collection. Once I arrived there were good social distancing measures in place and all other customers had masks on too. Payment swift and off I went. Got back to our caravan site 10 minutes later and the food was piping hot, crispy chili beef was soft on the inside and crispy outside, as it should be! Prawn toast, sweet and sour chicken balls and chow mein were also brilliant but the absolute stand out were the Satay scewers. Shame we I've too far away as this was delicious!! Top class!

Last time I ordered I had special fried rice and mixed balls, the rice was bland and tasteless and the batter on the balls was soggy and dripping in grease wouldn't order from there again

Have had many takeaways from here, usually delivered. Ordered and paid for over the phone. Delivered by friendly delivery staff, on time and piping hot. Can’t fault them.

Possibly the best value Chinese in Exmouth and I have tried a few. You only have to spend £20 to get a free drink or crackers.

I am so glad to say that these pancake rolls have not changed a bit in the last 25 years. Still taste the same as I used to eat when I lived in Exmouth. I now live in Australia and often dream about these pancake rolls!

Phoned up from work and the delivery was dropped up in the time stated and meal I ordered was really hot and tasted great .

Consistently great food and service

I've lived in exmouth for 7 years and I've tried almost every Chinese in a 10 mile radius (genuinely).....I've been looking for a decent chinese since moving down from Newcastle Upon Tyne (has it's own China Town) and I've finally found this place. The food is consistently very good, very quick and well priced if you go for the large portions, usually an extra £1.70 Ish. I've just purchased a large chicken chow main, large egg fried rice, standard size hot shredded chicken and a portion of chips for two adults and an 8 year old which came to £18. I'm a big eater, as is my daughter and there is still plenty left over. I don't usually go to this length to leave a review so I hope my babble helps you make a decision if you're hungry and don't want to be disappointed.

Ordered again to see if it had gone back to the normal standard it was but gone badly down hill so will not be ordering from here again. Also forgot the coke we ordered. Absolutely no taste I had to put pepper on curry sauce

Used to use this chinese years ago and it was always great. Moved away from exmouth over 2 years ago and never found a chinese take away so good. Taken to driving a 20 mile round trip to ensure a great chinese every time! Maybe mad but so worth it!!!

Very good Chinese food that is done very well, which is more that I can say for other Chinese restaurants in the area. Tasty and yummy and we will be back for more.

A nice place nearby to buy a takeaway.I like the 46a special curry.Quite a few takeaways of this type in Exmouth but this one suits me better and is my favoured one.

Excellent food. Never had any problems before and I often order takeaway. It's takeaway option only. Quick, fast, reliable, reasonably charged, good quality food, always feeling very full after my meals. The shop is clean and the staff are very good at speaking english. There's always people in there or ordering on the phone whenever I have been in to collect my order. The longest I've had to wait to collect my order is 30 minutes.

We have lived in Exmouth 4 years and following the decline of our usual chinese decided to try this one. We are really impressed! We had the very good value meal for one (which included prawn crackers unlike many others). The food was delicious: the least greasy sweet and sour chicken balls we have ever had and the beef with green peppers in black bean was seriously tasty, as was the special fried rice which was packed full of meat, prawns etc... Even more important the food was piping hot. We pre-ordered and then arrived 5 minutes early to collect to find it still being cooked - just what you want to hear! It was ready by the agreed time. Cannot recommend highly enough!

My husband and I were staying at Devon Cliffs Haven Park when we visited another Chinese takeaway and were very disappointed so we went in search for another and we were not disheartened. The menu here is fantastic, with varied and much tastier options. The man on the desk was very helpful when we asked questions about the dishes. The food was ready very quickly and tasted delicious. We recommend this establishment highly. Especially the Chilli and Salt King Prawns, Squid, Garlic/Tomato Prawns & Szechuan Duck :)Excellent. Thank you.

Great service, great choice. I often have the satay chow mean (which is not on the menu) and they willingly make it for me. I have found it to be the least greasy of all Chinese takeaways in town, especially for the chow mein. The service is great, they are helpful.Good value too.
