China Garden, what a disappointment, average food, poor service, but a 10% service charge of which we weren't told of, definitely won't be going back again.

Now our favourite take away. We like to eat there as well and the food is consistent in-house and as a take away which is not always the case with all restaurants. A+

We used to come here 20 years ago when we lived in Exmouth, and it's not changed- still the BEST Chinese around! Delicious food and brilliant friendly staff.

Food was disgusting I couldn’t even finish it all. I ordered salt and chilli fried chicken and the chicken was so soggy. Only took two bites. Waste of money.

Great taste. Delivered on time. Nice and hot and drink delivered in separate bag to ensure temperature of both meal and drink ok.

I'm not sure how the worst Chinese restaurant in Exmouth became the only one left. My wife has a soft spot for George and his work ethic, sadly in recent months it feels like others are pulling the strings prices have increased but the quality of the ingredients and how It's cooked have taken a dive. After nearly 30 years of loyalty the greedy surcharge left a bitter taste in what was a poor over priced meal sadly It's unlikely we will return. It will be a shame if this restaurant closes like the others, but if you try to fleece your regulars you get what you deserve.

It was late but only because there were very buissy tonight. But the delivery woman was friendly and delivered with a smile, so I have no issues at all with the quality of the food or the delivery

Came here while staying at the haven site , from the outside it doesn’t look much , which may put some people off going in , But rest assured the food was delicious, Never tasted a crispy duck like it , not greasy and it was already all shredded for us . We had the set meal and there was plenty of it , The waitress an English girl was lovely and seemed to be doing all the waiting on herself & taking orders , but it was quiet the mid week we went , It seems to be popular with the regulars as there was plenty of take aways going out , if your in exmouth give it a try you shouldn’t be dissapointed,

Late, food wasn't hot huge soggy chips no egg in the egg fried rice chicken chow mein ok ish! The only thing that was enjoyable was the spring roll never ever will I go to China garden again I don't know how they are getting away with what they charge its rank

delivery time expected 20.10 - 20.30, writing this review still awaiting my food at 21.10. absolute joke, almost £40 order! 2nd order on the bounce it has been an hour late, won't be ordering again

Food was delivered to the wrong address as included in someone else’s order and they kindly then drove it to us but by the time we got it it was barely warm

Turned up late and it was cold, needed to re warm up. This was the worse chinese I’ve had. Never using them again. Not happy at at all.

Food was delish, although 2 of the boxes were open and red sauce was pooling in the plastic bag - eek. No wonder the delivery person ran off quickly.

Food wasn’t great, chips tasted reheated, BBQ sauce was runny and no prawn crackers even tho I sent over £30.. but was on time.

Excellent, mixed meat curry with some lemon chicken soooo good. The deep fried squid I didn’t think was amazing though so will leave that next time I order, lovely food.

Went out family meal, got refused to be served as I had an assistant dog. They embarrassed me and my family saying they didn't want people like that eating there as it would scare off other customers. I rely on my dog for essential everyday needs, she is fully trained and extremely well behaved. I feel totally discriminated against.

Food always good. Only got kids chips instead of kids salt and chilli chips. Which was disappointing

order taken incorrectly, food was cold, owner / chef said he reheated the rice. 🫣Staff turned very abusive and intimidating when we questioned quality. Front of house said we were not welcome back. Shame, as we have been regulars when on our holidays

placed the order two hours ago and received in two hours and 30 minutes

Great timing, and lovely lady who delivered, but asked for cash by the delivery driver when they arrived (which I paid online already) and then realised after she had gone I had got red, not white, wine!!! I hope for a refund as I’ve effectively paid twice and also didn’t get what I had ordered.

Lovely food/friendly staff. Went tonight and staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us as we hadn’t booked. Really enjoyed our food. We ordered salt and pepper chicken, crispy wontons for starters, then Szechuan sauce chicken and special house curry for mains, with special house rice and noodles! Food was great and staff were very friendly! Would highly recommend!

Honestly, the food was outstanding! I ordered a set meal for 2. The amount of beef in the beef and black bean was fantastic and no chewy bits. The salt and pepper chips are by far the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to order again. Delivery was on time too.

Pre-ordered 6 hours in advance. Food was 40 minutes late, no apology from the driver and the worst part was that it was ALL stone cold. By the time we reheated everything in the microwave the crispy beef was anything BUT crispy. Very poor.

Table for two, menu was confusing as we had looked at the takeaway menu. Starters okay, main meal was not served together, mine was tepid, had to wait for my rice, my husband and I were sharing the rice dish. Husband had to go up and ask for his meal. Poor service. I was disappointed.

Always service with a smile. Great food and price. Always happy to help if you have a dietary requirement or ask for something to change in your meal ... like leaving out onions or spicing it up a bit etc.

Took nearly two hours for our order to be delivered

Food was good but cold and our order arrived 45 minutes late.

Last time ordering here, Ordered sweet and sour pork cantonese style (was not cantonese) which was full of odd bits of batter just a couple of big pieces of pork the sauce was tasteless (but dog enjoyed it) also ordered a black pepper oyster sauce dish (tasted like gravy).

We had a weekend away in Exmouth and really fancied a Chinese. Couldn’t have chosen better for the quality of the food, well cooked and well presented. The restaurant was a bit basic but this was more than made up for by the friendly staff and the extensive menu. We had the set menu for 2 people which was delicious but we couldn’t finish it all as the portions are very generous!

The egg fried rice was very overcooked and brown coloured( not brown rice) The chicken balls were not crisp, they were soggy. The orange chicken was mushy and in edible

The restaurant staff and front of house were welcoming and helpful. The food was ok we ate from the set menu which felt quite expensive but probably average for a Chinese eating in. The quality of the food was quite good and good portion size with some diversity in the menu. Lost a star for not having my favourite dishes 😅 . The restaurant is small and does feel somewhat cramped. If all the tables are full it is quite loud with people talking and waitresses calling to each other. That is the reason for the atmosphere score. Drinks are extremely expensive -again potentially not more expensive than other restaurants but seemed dear to me.

Very late, waiting almost 2 hours, and sub-standard quality on all food, particularly the shredded beef - was simply disgusting!

The curry had leaked in the bag so it was abit messy. I had put no onions in the curry but onions were there. The sweet &sour chicken didn't seem cooked completely but I ate some. Normally no probs but this time just didn't get there this time

A good hangout place in Exmouth to have Chinese food. They've a huge variety in their menu and the prices are reasonable. High seat chairs for kids and good portion amount. Loved their service and a 5 🌟 for it!

Pre-ordered at 4:30pm for delivery, estimated delivery time 5:40pm, arrived at 7:10pm, phoned twice told on way, arrived tepid. Me personally will not be ordering from here again!

It was our first time trying China Garden in Exmouth and I must say it was fabulous,honestly very tasty food, the waitress was extremely welcoming,the speed of the food was a little slow ( I think it was a very busy Friday lunchtime for them ) but you could see how hard the waitress was working and always with a brilliant attitude, nothing was to much trouble for her and when the food came, honestly I have eaten Chinese literally all around the world, this was right up there, possibly even the best, extremely tasty, loads of quality ingredients, we paid £10 for a two course lunch, seriously unbelievable value for what they give you. What we found was very unexpected, a real gem of a restaurant, I had read the reviews which are good but I didn't expect such quality , especially for a relatively cheep lunchtime menu of only £10 for two courses. Thank you China Garden, we will be back again and again:)

Absolutely appalling service blamed on weather conditions, which in our area are currently incredibly calm. We waited an hour and half for our delivery only to find the wrong order had been put through. When I called to complain I was faced with a female at the other end of the line shouting and screaming at me. I have lived in Exmouth all my life and I WILL not be using China Garden in the future. Shocking service and shocking customer service. Absolutely disgusting.

Our second visit now and all we can say is wow. Our waitress was ubove and beyond so friendly and welcoming. Honestly 10 _ 10 for food Fantastic Would 100% recommend 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Original delivery time was 1900-1920, then updated to 1950 after it was out for delivery. Order was late, but delivery driver was lovely and polite. Food top notch.

The last two times I’ve ordered and twice they’ve forgotten prawn crackers even though I spent over. I even rang and asked beforehand and wrote a note on the order to make sure. Do not advertise a certain spend for items if your not going to follow through. When I rang to ask was told they’d put a note on my next order and would get a manager to call but he wouldn’t be able to do anything so pointless. Won’t be ordering again. Small portion of prawn toast (4 pieces) for price when you can get
