Silver River in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We were recommended and it was a lovely Chinese meal especially the egg friend rice. We had sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, chicken chow menu and crispy chilli beef. It was not greasy and very tasty, thank you

Others have called this the best Chinese takeaway in Bude. If this is the case, the other restaurants must be dire. The Chicken and Black Bean sauce meal was completely without depth or substance. The chicken balls tasted as though they had been made with reformed white meat like chicken pieces in perfect cubes? The sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style had a flavour, but no idea what it was. And despite spending well over 50 quid on a takeaway, not even one prawn cracker was thrown in free. Out local Shanghai Express in Birmingham outclassed this take away in every way and at a third less in price. Would not recommend and would not go back.

Ordered here for the first time as I’m staying in bude …. Not impressed at all the noodles where slushy and yes very soupy and the meat was just thick cuts slapped on top of my noodles. The sweet and sour chicken balls where very stringy and not very tasty at all. I would not recommend at all. Absolutely gutted as I was looking forward to a Chinese on my last night in bude :(

Had a lovely Chinese takeaway from Silver River while staying a Widemouth Bay caravan park. Food was still nice and hot when we got back to the caravan. Fast efficient and polite service. Tasty food. Recommended.

My husbands food was good, but I found my food to be very soupy.Fast service but cash only very frustrating.

We decided to try here while stopping in Bude. Nice but curry was quite dark to what we are used to but still ok & not spicy. Worth a try. We collected as they only do delivery if u pay for a taxi or uber.

We stay in Bude every year and we always get a Chinese takeaway. Having gone on the recommendation of someone local we have always used a different Chinese, closest to our camp site. It was ok. But last night we decided to try silver river and are so glad we did Amazing food. Now I feel cheated for all the other times we used the other Chinese, no comparison to silver river’s food!Now I have to go home and be disappointed by my local Chinese takeaways too. ☹️Can’t wait to use this restaurant again next year.Don’t ever change silver river! Well...absolutely lush! We were on holiday and hungry after a long journey! Definitely didn’t disappoint. We ordered EVERYTHING! Highlights have got to be spring rolls (the best we’ve ever had) chow mein and duck in oyster sauce. We even found time to make a second trip another night! Very lovely service, nice and quick. Thanks guys!

We had four grandkids for the evening so my son and partner could have a night out. Choice was bbq or takeaway, thankfully they chose chinese takaway. We went down and ordered a mountain of food to take back to caravan. It was cooked promptly and reasonably priced. We got back and everyone chowed down, there wasnt much left. Everything was cooked to petfection and very tasty. Would use again.

Tried this takeaway whilst on holiday nearby. We all thought it was tasty, especially the salt and pepper chicken. Portions were a good size. Ready for the time we requested. Shame they didn’t give us prawn crackers.

Whilst down on holiday was looking for a nice Chinese so after driving around a lot and checking reviews we decide to come to here. Ordered was made within 20 mins and hot I can say if ever looking for a Chinese again and I am in the area I will certainly be coming here again.

Called in tonight what a brilliant takeaway we're on holiday, the barbecue spare ribs are perfect, I had the Singapore chow mein & a curry sauce again delicious we will be calling in again before we go home.

Whilst on holiday we decided to get a takeaway. Food was really lovely, reasonable priced and fresh. Fast service and friendly staff.

Visited here whilst holidaying in jacobstowe the food from here was excellent and a very fast service good portions and friendly staff highly recommended

Staying in Marhamchurch so phoned through our order and came to pick it up. Everything was as we ordered and all the food was very tasty, particularly the crispy chilli beef.

On our last night of camping in Cornwall we decided to order a take away from Silver River. Could not fault the food or service, it was perfect!

Staying at Sandymouth holiday resort popped down to Silver River.

Very poor quality and we took my wifes meal back as it was full of colouring which we asked before ordering although a refund was given .

Stayed at premier inn tonight and ordered take out from here. Lovely couldn’t fault it. Definitely order again. Had chicken curry chips and rice plus other meals. Very nice

We just popped into the Chinese for chips as this seems to be the only takeaway open on holiday last week in Bude. Chips are crisp and well cooked, seem hand cut. Pity I didn’t have appetite for more.

We get take away from here every few weeks and it's always been very good. Reasonably priced and not greasy like a lot of Chinese take aways can be. Nice friendly service from the lady who takes the orders.

Salt and pepper chicken was lovely. Girlfiend had sweet & sour chicken hong kong style which she thoroughly enjoyed. Only point to comment on really was the special rice dishes (chicken fried rice etc) are the same size as the small extra portion rice dishes.. just something to consider when deciding on your portions. So special fried rice which is like £5 is same size as egg fried rice. Not a criticism, they are just usually bigger.

The wife and myself visit when we are on holiday in bude without fail. Food is always amazing quick friendly service at a great price if I lived closer I would give the whole menu a go eventually. Take my advice give it a go.

Nice food though rather average. Noodles were really good as was the crispy chilli beef. Seemed quite a popular Chinese though didn't have to wait too long for the food.

Crispy chilli beef, honey chicken, capital spare ribs, chicken curry, shrimp fried rice, plain noodles, pancake roll £32.... all very nice from an archetypal Chinese take away..... Would have liked to see the rice and noodles in one of the bigger containers as most Chinese takeaways do, but maybe I'm greedy so I'll still give it 5/5...see you again

Pleasant food, we ordered 8 different dishes, the only one we were a little disappointed with was Duck with Cashew Nuts, duck is naturally fatty meat but there wasn't a lot of meat, more fat. Apart from that, we had empty plates.

Had a takeaway was not impressed tried a dish with the BBQ sauce as past reviews rated it good was hardly any. The curry sauce was like gravy, thick and flavorless and the rice was over cooked. Overall disappointed.

We visited Bude just after New Year and after a full day out doing photography and beach combing found ourselves tired and starving! We read the reviews for Silver River on here and given that we didn't want to have to go home and get dressed to eat in a restaurant we thought we'd give Silver River a go. OMG!!! I thought I'd be visiting Bude again to see the amazing coastline but now it might just be to eat Chinese food from here again!!!

We are locals, we use Silver River very regularly, excellent food, it is always good, piping hot, delicious and well worth every penny, highly recommend for visitors.

have used this place for a number of years now , very good food , only problem is it seems to be closed outside the holiday season , a great shame for locals as the food here is very good !

Fantastic Chinese. So good we went twice whilst on holiday. Highly recommend this place. First class service and food. When back next year for holiday will definitely be visiting again.

We are quite fussy when it comes to a Chinese and decided to venture to try a Chinese in Bude. We have since been coming back many times! Good value, the food is lovely and always piping hot. The ribs are genuinely to die for - many Chinese takeaways seem to have a very watery BBQ sauce. The sauce here is sweet and thick, almost like a paste but not quite. I would thoroughly recommend!

Really nice food enjoyed by all the family..Would recommend to anyone who is after decent chinese food..

We are locals and have tried all the all the Chinese takeaways in Bude and this is the best. Food is excellent and always hot, even relatives who come down always insist on a takeaway from Silver River.

Ordered twice from here while on holiday. Everything we had was delicious, well cooked and piping hot, I would highly recommend to any locals or holidaymakers.

Always go to Silver River if I'm ordering a Chinese. Food is always perfect, piping hot with large portions and the staff are really nice.

Visited Silver River a Year ago whilst on holiday and had a fantastic meal was here again this week and had another brilliant meal Staff are very friendly, food piping hot, portions huge, quality is excellent
