Went here for an Easter meal with the kids and thought the food was cooked lovely. I was impressed with how fast they served the vegetarian option for the carvery, and you could order via the app, so the service was fast. The gravy is vegetarian here, too, apparently. Though, a label for customers would be nice.

Waitress was lizzy spot on got the young one there ice cream and really good with the kids a sentiment to ur team

Services was very good. Really nice front of house staff and the head chef was really friendly. The food was nice and had everything you needed.

Our first visit for breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome, Georgia went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Good food, coffee and excellent staff.

My experience of my carvery the meat was tough veg cold my waitress did get me some more meat one of the pieces was OK other very fatty our waitress lizzy made it worth wile she was lovely my partners garlic cheesy bread starter was rock hard

I often come here as I find the staff so friendly. Today a lovely lass spent some time chatting. I found out that her name was Lizzy. She was busy, but still found a couple of mins to make me feel welcome.

Lizzy was a wonderful waitress and we had a terrific time. Nothing was too much trouble :-D

Lizzie was so friendly, especially acknowledging and interacting with the children. She asked several times of we needed anything. All staff were helpful. Food portions were plentiful and tasty.

There was a very lovely lady called Cathy that couldn't do enough for you so welcoming and would highly recommend her for promotion.x

Went out for breakfast with the family and partner, brilliant food and drink as always, service were just as good, no eggs on the breakfast buffet as they had been taken, must have heard me mention it at the buffet, staff then followed me to the table with some fresh from the kitchen. Brilliant, I would of waited till my next time round, it made me smile, brilliant, thanks debs and the team

Visited here for a carvery, staff not very friendly serving,, food not up to standard as carrots almost raw potatoes very hard and lager flat. Overall not a good meal

Had a Halloumi salad and it was sooo disappointing. The Halloumi was broken into tiny pieces, deep fried and served cold so it just tasted of oil. You don't need to deep fry it! And it's better to keep them chunkier! The salad didn't have any dressing and the quality of the vegetables wasn't great. It was just a sad meal...

We come here every week - always fab food, never had a bad meal and the service is always extremely good. Would highly recommend for those looking for a meal out at sensible prices with great service.

We came in for some food with the kids, booked in for half 3 however we ended up being ready an hour before and our booking got promptly pushed forward to accommodate us. The food and service was spot on, especially our server Lizzy who was very attentive and great towards the kids and made sure we felt welcome throughout our visit. Would absolutely recommend!

An amazing place! The carvery is perfect and the staff are really friendly... The Chef came out from the kitchen with a box of meat off cuts and asked if we had dogs. We do and so he offered us the box of meat free of charge. What a lovely place with wonderful staff.

Popped in on Friday lunchtime and it was very busy. Perhaps that is why the service was on the slow side. Apart from that the carvery was good quality and value.

Went with a friend, food was spot on, she chose off the menu, I had a carvery.. I have to say that the Beef was exceptionally moist and tender, it just melted in my mouth.... this isn't the first time for it to be like this, but this is the first time I've written a review ... all the meats looked great but I just wanted Beef, so glad I did 😊😋

Wish I knew about this place sooner. Much better than toby and will be back here instead of toby in the future too

HIGHLY RATE CARVERY! Main menu isn't amazing but their carvery is to die for! 100x better than Toby Carvery! Shame I live 5 hours away! Staff are lovely too 😊

No steak left and I'm on a strict protein diet, so had to go for the chicken wing starter as a main. The wings were cheap and mainly fat. I had to spit most of them out, but I was hungry so I carried on eating to get a little bit of meat. There was nobody coming round to ask if everything was okay. Children enjoyed their dinners, which is the reason I was there. Didn't stay for dessert and went elsewhere.

First visit here and found staff rude and negative.. Unhelpful when asked questions about food and drink. Complained to manager who was apologetic. Food was ok but wouldn't return. .

My carvery go to!! Sit in or take away. Forget your Toby take away carvery, this is where it's at. At least 3 sittings from mine when I go. Staff are great. Good parking. All you can eat breakfast, and the legendary Cake Away!

As always Debs and Andy very welcoming. Food is always hot and plenty of everything u want ie bacon sausages bean Tom's eggs toast. Tea and coffee, love coming up for breakfast, plenty of cake aways too took the Lemon cheese cake for later, and lots of choice in the ice cream counter son loves the bubble gum so took some of that too.. Pub is always from clean. Some days are busier than others but there plenty of seats. I do prefer this pub over others around. Nothing is too much trouble of any of the staff. Went for mother's day had to book ,only had 6 o'clock available so this place is very popular ,decided to not have the carvery as the cue was very long ,my hubby n me went for the burger, ordered on app from table was pretty quick service ,we shall return as we enjoyed this restaurant, staff friendly and decor is very nice

We’ve been going to silk wood for years, various occasions, from breakfast to family gatherings, always on point, the staff are amazing! Nothings ever too much bother, it’s always our go to for eating out, breakfast this morning was lovely as usual

Visited tonight as needed to charge my car and there was nowhere else nearby. We nearly just went to KFC and wish we had as I’m sure the standard of food would have been between… Ordered a hunters chicken burger which just turned up looking a mess. The chicken was tiny and terrible. Some chips were hot, some cold. And huge great big stalky bits of cabbage in the coleslaw. The bread was dry and just broke apart. Ate the chicken and chips and left the rest. Chicken and halloumi burger was just as bad. The beef burger was like a frozen one. Horrible. The cake and ice cream was nice but that was the only passable thing for food. Service was actually nice and friendly but would never ever visit again. Yes it’s cheap but my god, the food is sub standard.

Been in today got from the sea fish supper was cooked to perfection was very well cooked and staff was very friendly made sure we was well taken care of and made sure everything was perfect for us 🥰 come all the time because of the staff being welcoming its a great place for food thanks Cathy sammi and debs for a great time

Brilliant food cooked better than other pub in the chain,, chefs care more staff care a lot and are more polite. Manager came from birchwood farm and is doing a awesome job running silkwood farm

Staff all seemed very young and all looked very unhappy , initially given a really bad table right by the bar and where everyone walks by ,asked to move was then told nothing available when we could see tables empty and said thats it . Few mins later they had managed to move bookings round and moved us . Tables either side stayed empty so not sure why we couldn't move first time . Anyways food is great beat carvery around ,plenty of choice and all very nice , could do with crispier spuds but a very busy place with loads of stressed out heads recommend going on a quiet day 👍

Thought I’d call in late last night for some cake it was very quiet that the manager had closed the tills. The server was very helpful. She apologised and asked what cakes I was wanting and then said because the tills are closed you can have them free of charge which obviously made the cakes taste even better. Thank you Chloe for the cakes 👍

Got toogoodtogo for breakfast. The young lady with blonde hair on front house was very polite and great at her job, very helpful. You need more people like this lady 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
