Nice friendly pub, good cask beers.

First visit in twenty years . Has been decorated and revamped , but the toilets still need sorting. Decent beer 🍺

I understand there was a function happening tonight but the service was appalling. The manager was rude to multiple customers as well as his staff, and the staff being rude to customers. You come to a pub for good food and no hassle. Telling customers to go bend over a tap outside if they want water? Sending their kids to do the same? What kind of business are you running exactly? "Go to the co-op if you want water." "There's a tap outside that you can drink out of." Sort yourselves out 👍

Didn't eat, lager wasn't the best and a little pricey. It's a nice pub but without a homely feel

3 different hand pulled beers on when I called in. Usually go to Kirkland's, but they had no beer at all !!! I will be going to Woodman again

Good local pub, rotating guest beers, friendly staff, live sports. Big beer garden that could do with a tidy up.

Landlord always welcoming and pleasant. Fantastic local pub and lovely home cooked food. Huge beer garden with plenty of space for kids to play on slide and climbing frames as well as enough room for football with kiddies. Staff always helpful and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and the Woodfest on bank Holidays are a must!!

Great pub, great family atmosphere with a play area and large space for the kids. Bar staff are real friendly and take time to chat even when busy. Drinks are fairly priced. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Only had a pork pie but it was really good

We hired the marquee for our sons birthday party again. Great place to let the kids enjoy the beer garden play area and add your own bouncy castle and party food. Very helpful and having another in September.

Well organised, friendly, proper pub! Good selection of beers with regular guest ales. Our local pub of choice.

We came to this pub as we had got lost. They gave fab directions and really looked after us. Amazing team and made us feel very welcome.

Held my daughters birthday party here in the marquee and beer garden and I couldn’t recommend them more! Totally great at communicating, so so helpful and friendly. Everyone has nothing but good feedback! The marquee is absolutely massive and so is the beer garden, the kids had an amazing time and I can’t wait to use them again for more parties! Would give more stars if I could!

Went for a wedding reception in the marquee in the grounds of the pub . Great pint of guinness and very pleasant and friendly staff . Very reasonable prices on the beer to . Will definitely call again at some point

Extremely Rude owner. Specifically told us to buy a drink or “f*** off” as we had just arrived and we were talking to our friends before buying a drink. Because we were speaking to friends for more than 10 minutes without buying a drink the owner of this pub came over and told us to either buy a drink or “f*** off” one of my friends bought a drink and then we proceeded to hear the owner and colleges slating us which resulted in us leaving the pub. When leaving the pub we were stared at with a look of disgust. Never going back to this pub again after shocking service.

My wife and I have just called into the Woodman on our way home from work. We don’t go in this pub normally and will not be going in again. The landlord (assuming it was him), was extremely rude and sarcastic (I was trying to help). With attitude like that, he will notice a significant drop in custom, once the hype of the pubs reopening, dies downs. I think we’ll try the Wagon next time.

Had the Sunday lunch, roast beef. Was of poor quality with the veg tasting like it was microwaved from frozen, and the potatoes were small and dry. Beef itself was ok, but overall there was little on the plate and lacked flavour. This was the only thing on the menu, so had no other choice. Very disappointing. Two stars were for the staff, who at least seemed nice and pleasant.

One of my two locals. Staff is friendly as well as the customers. A perfect balance of age range, young and not so young mingle nicely over a pub quiz once a week.

Had my boys christening & sons 1st birthday party here at the weekend... what an amazing day it was !! The staff was absolutely lovely, very friendly and didnt hesitate to help us when we asked. They plugged the bouncy castle in before we arrived so it was up and ready time we got there, without us asking them to. Excellent place to throw a party for any age. It's all Blocked off so no kids can escape. Massive field for them to run some steam off, lovely playarea outside also! Would definitely recommend this place! Had a lot of compliments from everyone who turned up.

Disgusting dirty outside area full of cigarette ends and rubbish . Horrible food , dingy dark on the inside . Such a waste of money and unpleasant experience , wanted to sit outside in the sunshine to eat as we had kids and a dog but the area was too run down and dirty so sat inside , directly outside off the men's loos which stank as this was the only table in the area where dogs were allowed ( god knows why dogs are only allowed in this area it can't be for hygiene reasons as the inside isn't much better than the outside) . Such a shame as this pub used to be one of the best with a lovely area outside and great traditional food . It needs a clean up and some money spending on it or closing down .

Nice friendly staff and locals who are willing to chat. The ales are always good quality and fresh and the pizzas are very good!

Just had a lovely sunday lunch all fresh veg & the meat was very tender.

Absolutely disgusting meal carbonara dry burnt and burger dry and burger bun rock hard .only thing that looked decent was my grandsons pizza never again hate being ripped off. No stars from me

Food good, service very poor. 20 minute wait for main course to be cleared, 20 minutes and counting for 1 dessert, asked at bar told ' not got a clue ' . Will not be back

Called in today for lunch, had fish Friday deal, beautifully cooked fish and hand cooked chips (not frozen) and even bread and butter. Couldn't find fault. Excellent price 2 for £10 will definitely be calling again.

Has well kept beers, is dog friendly but not obviously in the dining area, and a interesting quiz on a Wednesday
