Celebrating a family birthday, we booked a table for six, plus our Poodle at the Doggie Cafe at Silica Lodge Garden Centre. Gabriella and her staff were so friendly and we were served quite quickly considering there were six of us. The meals included the pie of the day special, scampi, tasty prawn sandwich with salad & coleslaw and a cheese & onion paninni. Everything was fresh and tasty, presented well and served in a friendly manner. Even our Poodle was made welcome and given a little packet of dog biscuits. After our meal we enjoyed a browse round the plant centre and gift shop. All the staff were friendly and we all enjoyed a lovely day.

Would not return. The food was edible - that’s the best I can say about the place. This used to be a lovely place to get lunch with friends and to bring the dog but now it is somewhere I will avoid. The garden centre allows dogs in but the cafe has only a tiny, grubby area where you can sit with dogs. There were only two tables shoved in a corner of a fenced off area - not welcoming at all and not a pleasant place to enjoy food. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Just fancied a full English so popped in. Sign at door said please wait to be seated' although nobody was actually seating people so we just walked in and sat down. Whilst ordering food the woman at the till could barely be bothered to talk to us let alone listen. Managed to order our breakfasts which when arrived were cold and had to be returned and reheated. Cake cabinet empty as well which is another poor sign. This cafe used to be great but something has definitely changed.

We had ordered 25 minutes earlier. I asked had they lost our order they said no working on it!! However, the meal arrived peas, french fries, cottage pie I would suggest they had to nip to local supermarket to get peas & french fries. Working on our meal indeed.

Probably the worst food I've possibly consumed, the steak pie was inedible, unseasoned grey beef with no filling, a raw slice of pastry slapped on top of it to finish it off, was more dog food than a pie. The peas were inedible and the chips tasted as if they had been cooked a dozen times. You'd get a better quality cooked meal at spoons with a pint for half the price. The price of the drinks are shocking too, £4 for a cup is unbelievable

We booked our table 2 weeks prior to our visit but on arriving our booking hadn't been written in the book. The staff member was very apologetic but as they were fully booked she could only offer us a small table in the "dog cafe". We all squeezed round and prepared to make the best if it. We ordered our food at the counter to a very miserable looking staff member and sat chatting while waiting. After about an hour, 2 and a half dishes were plonked on the table, after about 10 minutes we asked where the rest of our meals were, she went off and came back with mine and my friend's paninis which were cold and almost threw a dish of chips infront of my other friend. We managed to still enjoy ourselves but I would not recommend this cafe anymore and we all agreed that we will go elsewhere next time. There was no Christmas spirit from the staff at all, they all seemed as if they didn't want to be there. After our lunch we had a look around. The Christmas wreaths were so small and the Christmas decks collection was much smaller than previous years. Altogether a very disappointing visit!

I ordered a "sandwich platter" which when it turned up was one sandwich with fake plastic ham and a teaspoon of coleslaw and 1/4 of a small tomato for £7.50 was disgusting. When we arrived there were numerous tables that needed to be cleaned. And one lady sat on a dirty table for atleast 20 mins before someone decided to clear and wipe it for her. Bearing in mind staff bought us our lunch and would have seen it needed clearing when they turned round however proceeded to ignore it. The staff were slow and not very customer friendly. My wife and I began going to the Four Seasons because Diane, who previously had the Willow Tree at Kirton Lindsey Garden Centre, had to find new premises after her lease at Kirton came to an end, and she took on a lease at the Four Seasons. Diane's restaurant at Kirton was superb; we never had a reason to complain, be disappointed etc etc......it was quite simply first class and 5 stars all the way!!!! When she moved to the Four Seasons at Silica Lodge Garden Centre in Scunthorpe there was initially no change in food quality and quantity, but bit by bit both have declined over a few months. On Sunday 28 May I found out that Diane had relinquished her lease because of personal reasons and I thought 'ah, now I understand the decline'. Ok, down to my experiences at the Four Seasons. I like my chips to be golden brown and crispy, not pale in colour and softish, so I make a request when ordering for my chips to be done golden brown and crispy (this is typed on to the food order for the kitchen to read)..... they never come as requested so I have just shrugged my shoulders and got on with the meal, ultimately though I have tired of my request being ignored and I have sent the meal back on the last two occasions, and to be fair the chips that came back were absolutely excellent (hence 2 stars instead of one star). Apart from the chips my chicken curry now doesn't even half fill the metal dish, so yesterday I sent it back asking for a full portion (the dish would be FULL of curry when Diane ran the restaurant) but when it came back there was hardly a difference in the quantity, with perhaps one very small spoonful having been added to the dish. On the 28th the chicken in the curry was chewy and hard, as though it had been previously cooked and then used to make the curry. I am so, so disappointed to have lost the opportunity to sample Diane's excellent service and cuisine. On a good note there are two particularly excellent members of the serving staff. A young lad called Byron, who seems to understand the concept of great customer service, and a black lady (sorry, don't know her name , but she is a lovely person and gives wonderful service), interestingly she came with Diane from the Willow Tree at Kirton Lindsey). I don't think we'll be going back to the Four Seasons.

There was hand sanitizer at the entrance and the tables and chairs were cleaned before you were seated and sufficient distance between to be within the social distancing rules. During busy times there is a little wait, the staff did explain this before you entered, but well worth it for the good food they provide. Turned out to be the thickest piece of gammon I've had in my life, almost raw at one end and rubbery enough to sole trainers at the other. Was supposed to be our first post lockdown meal out treat. Also, their covid19 access is poor. Wherever you park, you have to walk the full length of the site, partly over rough gravel, to get to the restaurant, difficult if you're old. They could have come up with a much more imaginative solution than this by making a central access point. Never again!

A nearby table that some animals had eaten at was very quickly cleaned off. Tables are a little closer than i would prefer but nothing to really worry about. Its a good idea on entering the garden centre to look at the cafe before going around the rest of the building. Cafe does get busy at meal times and when the weather turns bad. Its not the first time we have been here, probably because its a lovely warm friendly place. We normally have the small breakfast, it's always tasty and nice and hot when it comes. The restaurant is very clean, and it's really relaxing to visit. Once you've been fed and watered you can have a meander around in the garden centre, either way a visit not to be missed

Lovely food here but since being told, due to ill health that I can’t eat chips, I find it quite annoying that it is possible to swap chips for jacket potato.....for an extra £1. Not happening, sorry.

Popped in for lunch today with my daughter, it was quite busy, was served by a lovely polite girl at the till and was really surprised how quick our lunch came out, it was presented lovely and really tasty, we usually eat at another garden centre regularly but the food here was much better, we will be coming back often.

Called at about 1.30 on a Thursday, it was extremely busy although not many people in the rest of the Garden centre. We eventually found a table, uncleared . The menu was ok for snacks or a main lunch , we ordered a sandwich. Lady at the checkout was very nice despite being very busy. Excellent coffee , good sandwich, the only thing spoiling the meal was the seating. There are far too many tables squashed in the middle row , there is no privacy , especially for two seater tables. I understand the need to be able to 'fit everyone in' but don't think we will visit again.

Popped in for a cheeky breakfast and it was gorgeous. Large breakfast just hit the spot but not oversized just right for the hungry weekend shopping ahead. The restaurant is clean and very airy with views of the squirrels running about. Very relaxing way to start a day. The food was good quality, fresh and hot, lovely. A look round the garden centre, great start. Well worth a visit and friendly staff.

Went with a friend one day. Been lots of times. On this occasion my firend had a card full for - free drink. So it wasn't put on the bill and she didn't get her drink. When chased up the staff member who has served us came over and said. It should be on the bill even if no charge to be made. She kept saying this over and over again. She didn't admit that she had made a mistake in not putting it on. I got fed up of her saying it so I said it wasn't my friends fault. In the end she agreed to give us a drink out of the

Not sure what this obsession is with trying to squeeze 5 adults around a table for 4 when we all want to eat a meal and there is clearly space to use a second smaller table for 2 next to the table of 4. Again, when spending almost £60 I don’t appreciate this continued approach. Never the less the food was delicious, hence why we keep returning hoping the staff approach may have changed. Given the soaring success of the newly refurbished pub seconds down the street (and the obvious transfer of custom from here to there) you’d think they’d be trying to make their remaining customers feel valued.

We have lunch here regularly and last 2 times we have visited it has deteriorated. Service at till is disorganised and slow - can they not programme till for "specials"? It takes a long time for them to change the order to the correct item. Coffee isn't as good - much weaker. Ordered coffee with cold milk - milk didn't arrive. Quiche used to be excellent but this time very thick pastry and undercooked. Seem to have moved to quantity rather than quantity - massive portion of poor quiche with way to many chips.

Had lunch and found that the food was average and it was overpriced, there was nothing special about either the food or the coffee shop. I had quiche and found it to be tasteless and bland. There was a token salad but it had seen better days. Its a shame really as the garden centre it great.

Would be better if they gave a number when you order food, rather than you having to give a table number only to find that someone has sat at the table while you were at the counter ordering the food.

I was surprised by the size of the tea pot for two, plenty to go around with two cups each. Sadly the special cream scone tea was let down by the cream being whipped cream and not clotted. If it had been a proper cream scone with clotted cream then it would have been so perfect.

Visited here with some friends and my husband on a Saturday lunch time, it didn't seem as busy as it usually is but still quite a few people in. The lattes tasted good, i notice the large latte doesn't come in a glass like the small one, but in a kind of small mug, No little biscuit that used to come on the side and no tea spoon so had to chase one of them up.

The pensioner's lunch is good and there was roast pork dinner which was great. The teacups are very wide and as you are served well before the meals come, it soon turns cold. Prices have gone up quite a lot in the last year which probably accounts for the fact that it is never as full as it used to be.

Came today for Sunday lunch and was incredibly disappointed at the customer service. Have come several times before (most weeks intact) and always had an excellent service but today was nothing short of disappointing. Despite there been 5 of us (adults) all planning on purchasing a full Sunday lunch and coffee we were told we could not pull two tables together (a table of 4 and a table of 2) and the 5th person would need to pull a chair to the end of the table of 4 and couldn’t use the other table. This resulted in me sitting with my back to the main door of the cafe (rather cold when it’s opening every 5minutes) and having to squeeze three dinner plates and drinks into space for 2. I find this incredibly rude given the amount of money spent. Won’t bother spending any money here in future, will go somewhere our custom is appreciated.

Had a walk around the garden centre and it was immaculate the plants are of a high quality and the prices lower than it's larger competitors it's a joy to talk to staff that know their stuff a great visit and I will return .

A nice cafe with friendly staff but let down by the food. Myself and my husband had fish finger sandwich with chips. The fish fingers were not of good quality served in cheAp white bread. We felt £8.99 was a lot to pay for budget fish fingers and frozen chips. We have paid the same price in other places for the same meal and received lovely fish gougons in a nice crusty loaf, much more what you would expect at this price.

Top marks all round, 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, 10/10, 👍👍. Usually when I have to work away I end up in a Travelodge or similar hotel chain because it's generally easier for the office to book etc. This time I found myself working at the Port and found this little gem. It must be a reasonable price because there was no grumbling from said office and they even paid for my breakfasts. I received a very pleasant, happy and friendly greeting when I checked in, Stephen (or Steven) is a superb host/landlord. I was shown to my room which was more than adequate, the beds and also the bedding were very comfortable and the bathroom with the great big shower head and hot water was just the ticket after work. True there's not a great deal of local facilities you are basically on a road with a pub and a local corner shop, but the food in the pub is very good, (I can definitely recommend the fish and chips) there's dartboards and a pool table. Breakfasts are spot on very tasty, Bacon, Sausages, scrambled eggs, beans, hash browns, tomato, mushrooms and toast, washed down with a glass of orange juice and a good size pot of tea or coffee. I've stayed on 2 separate occasions and it will be my first choice in the future if I'm working that way again.
