A lovely blend of quality food with great staff makes this a great restaurant, bring your own drinks to keep the night inexpensive.

The food was very good! Service was extremely quick and friendly! Even got a complimentary sweet tray at the end! Would definitely go again if in area!

2nd Visit and Was as good as as the 1st, great staff and food, service was fantastic, no constant badgering you to buy extras, Take your own Alcoholic drinks and they provide the Glasses. From start to finish fantastic. Complimentary sweets also from the sweet trolly. 100% the best Curry I have ever had.

This is absolutely the best restaurant. Food is always tasty and brought out hot. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very welcoming! Service is excellent and I like that the seating is not over crowded.

First visit here for me.4 of us dined here in what was a busy Saturday night. Portion size was a little small, not much chicken in the tikka masala but the chicken jalfreze was quite nice and spicy.The poppadoms dips were very nice.Service was a little slow however it was busy. I think it's good that you can take your own alcoholic drinks in with you.Soft drinks you have to purchase in restaurant,they are not over priced.

I went last night for my second visit to Silchar. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Superb service. The menu is wide ranging offering plenty of choice and lots of intriguing specials. The Food was delicious. Couldn't eat it all so the waiter kindly packaged it up for us to take home. Fantastic dining experience and will definitely be back

Our grandsons first visit to an Indian restaurant. 5stars from him. We went for the buffet Sunday special which gave us the chance to try lots of different foods. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was busy and it was great to see so many happy customers. We opted for the mocktails to.. all the better for making this first experience a memorable one.

Used to visit this restaurant often, probably over 50 times in total and found it hit & miss depending if the Manager was in or not but mainly it was good. Recently moved back to the area after moving away and decided to go with friends. Was left disappointed as the starter was fine but the main course even being priced at £15 was smaller than the starter. It had 3 lumps of dried lamb in. The atmosphere was gone. Paper napkins on table, no table cloths ( whether this iis in support of the environment, I am not sure). When there was a small spillage of water, all the black die came out of them on my friends top. Also we were not told that the deal was not on, even though it was a normal week day, Christmas was over! Other people were also talking about it. What has happened to the happy staff, the attitude of one young man was not good. We will not be returning as we like service with a smile & good food in a friendly atmosphere.

We had a Table for 6 on Saturday evening. From walking in the door to finish I couldn't fault the Staff who were very friendly and helpful. Service was Great and the Food was The Best Indian I have experienced. All was served hot. The Chutney Tray dips were very good quality, I have had others that were very watered down, these were Thick and mint yogurt creamy. All starters, king Prawns, shish kebab, Chicken chat puri. Were great. Main dishes, rice's, nan breads were amazing. I couldn't Recommend this place Enough. Also you can Take your own Alcohol Glasses are provided, none alcohol drinks can be purchased. 10 out of 10. Thanks for a great Service and food. Will definitely be booking again when in the Area visiting family.

My second visit and to be fair I should have reviewed it the first time it was that good. Their popadom chutneys are exceptional. The Main was tasty and full of favour without being overly hot. The nan and rice superb. Add to that great Service and the very reasonable price.......fabulous!

Good to visit Dimapur through Silchar route and know about its connection with Mahabharata era. Made few friends and also learned the fooding habits of Nagaland. Visited few places with great cultural influence like Maa Kaali Baari, Radha Raman temple, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, etc who promote both Indian civilization and serve society with several relief activities. In Silchar saw old temples of ancient and middle ages.

Top quality tasty food in lovely surroundings. You will need to bring your own alcohol. Will definitely go again. Thank you Silchar.

We decided to get a takeaway delivery from here. For starter I had the 'chicken chat' which was nice and would have it again. For the main I had 'makni' which was ok, but not over the best, it was quite watery and a bit lacking of flavour. We also had coconut rice which was really good and would recommend it. We also had keema cheese naan which was good also. Overall this is a good place, some of the dishes are better than other dishes they serve. The delivery time was good.

Very good indeed. The staff were great…so friendly & accommodating. We had drinks outside prior to dinner where we caught up with family. We had the choice of either inside or outside for our meal. We ate inside. It was BYO with just soft drinks to pay for. Very good food & very little waiting time between courses. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

This is out absolute favourite restaurant to visit. The staff are incredible and make our experience unique every time. I even have a sea bass dish named after me because of my numerous visits. I would recommend you try it, it is called the Seabass Passonte. We have a big family and this restaurant has something for all of my kids, which is a rare occurrence and not to mention how quick the service is, even on busy days. We feel very comfortable every time we go and it has become something we look forward to. It is also great that you can bring your own alcohol because it gives us more options. The mocktail selection is great and we will never stop going.

Not impressed to be charged for two pickle trays - had asked for top up as inadequate portion for four people. Chicken tikka main ungenerous. Not much bigger than a starter. Food is tasty and other mains seemed more plentiful. Bring your own drinks is a big positive. Service was slow and not attentive.

The outdoor set up is superb, great mocktail menu and the food is always a treat. It's a pity our evening was ruined by one arrogant member of staff. Our table had asked a young staff member on duty a query relating to an order for our table. It soon emerged we had interrupted the young girl who had been instructed to clean and prepare awaiting tables. Whilst attempting to assist us another staff member who looked busy and flustered snatched the spray out of her hand in frustration, reprimanding her in front of our table for talking too much to customers, making it abundantly clear to her he now had to do the job he'd instructed her to do. We felt so embarrassed for her and reassured her later she shouldn't accept that kind of behaviour. Our table collectively felt this needed to be challenged as it made us feel uncomfortable. So I asked the member of staff discreetly if I could have a quick word. I advised him that, just as an observation, I felt it wasn't professional to call out a staff member for trying to help out a customer. His response was to challenge me asking if I had actually heard what he'd said to her. I attempted to level with him by suggesting he considers how this looks like to a customer. Hesnapped at me saying "Don't tell me how to treat my staff!" A queue for customers wanting to be seated had quickly formed who were in earshot. To save him even more embarrassment I told him I wasn't prepared to argue with him in front of his customers that my objective was just to give some professional advice and went back to my seat. To the young girl that works there you don't need to take that crap from this bully.The food was great by the way but I'll stick to the Bangla Pride when that re- opens

We came here for our dinner on Sunday. We sat outside which was sooo nice. The atmosphere was really good and all the staff seemed happy and made some jokes with us which makes a big difference! The food was amazing and so was my mocktail. Would definitely return for more food and mocktail. It’s bring your own alcohol which we didn’t know but we didn’t mind as they still have a big drinks menu that’s alcohol free. The atmosphere outside is really nice and the decor is done beautifully.

Ordered takeaway 17.40 sat night 27th Feb. I find it quite arrogant and not very customer friendly that a) it’s 90 min delivery and b) you have to pay cash! Anyway, went with it as their food is always good however had to call back at 7.25 as still no food. Told ‘the driver has left’ and waited another 30 mins and good arrived at 8pm. Nearly 2.5 hours wait. It was cold and unappetising. Nothing worse than cold soggy Nan bread, will be giving it a swerve now. Not good enough

I’ve only selected may, but during the last lockdown provided us with some amazing takeaway meals for all types of celebrations!! Food always amazingly hot! Service from ordering down to collecting was amazing and even with a drive from Hinckley to barwell the food is always pipping hot!! Even helped out with special requests!! All staff are so friendly and can’t wait to order again soon and even be able to come back in to dine in their stunning restaurant!

Ordered food last night and as always was fantastic, ordered by Facebook messenger, and collected at 6pm. Upon entrance to collect, was greeted immediately and as always 5 star service. I ordered ahead, and it was ready for me when I arrived.We live 5 miles away, and the food was still piping hot when we got home.The food was lovely, fresh and full of flavour. Well I’m more than angry we have a takeout perhaps every other week from here & tbh apart from a few minor issues.... we always enjoy it but this Saturday it was to cold to eat it cost £30ish so a lot of money to throw away, I rang that night to let them know, & the man just said said oooo sorry ? I’ve emailed & WhatsApp no reply? I still think a courtesy meal voucher should have been issued I’ve never complained before so they no it’s genuine☹️just really bad after sales service try and keep the customer happy then they’ll come back ,now you’ve lost a loyal customer for the sake of a courtesy voucher or no real apology

The Hinckley Curry Club enjoyed excellent food here Tuesday evening. The chef chose some novel starters and interesting mains that we all enjoyed.

I regularly eat at the Silchar as a couple with my wife, as well as with other family members.Since the restrictions imposed by Covid this restaurant has worked really hard to ensure the safety of those dining as well as staff waiting on at the tables.Recently we have also had take away meals delivered home. The wait time at the weekend can be about 90mins, but that only reflects the popularity of the restaurant.Take away food from some places can be poor, never from the Silchar, it’s always well packed, hot and of an excellent standard.Congratulations to all of the staff, always an excellent meal!

We’ve eaten at the Silchar numerous times since moving to Hinckley and we’ve received great service every single time. The staff are friendly & knowledgable about the dishes. We’ve tried other Indians in the area but this 1 is the best. The atmosphere in the restaurant is always lovely & the quality of the food is amazing. Highly recommend!

Attracted photos explain it all really - they literally don’t care about you just themselves. They’ll certainly not get the chance to take my hard earned cash again - especially with that very poor attitude. Silver lining - The cross Keys in Burbage accommodated us with a lovely smile, amazing food and no problems - which I will detail in a separate cover.

As a regular customer I was disappointed with the service on my last visit poorer service was given it seems because we were taking advantage of the £10off gov scheme Waiting over 1hr for food whilst they were focused on pumping takeaways out forgetting about there Restraunt customers They need to realise we are still paying full price! But half the money is coming from the GOV so we should get a full service and full quality I understand it’s difficult times but don’t isolate your loyal customer base silchar

Our food was amazing as usual. We don’t normally do a takeaway but due to COVID we have had to We had 3 meals was excellent defiantly recommend this restaurant and the takeaway to. The staff are excellent and always make you feel welcome Best Indian food in the area and we travel from Nuneaton.

Overcharged on first Sunday buffet visit a couple of years ago and Manager wasn't interested at the time. Decided to try again recently as a takeaway. Again, a mistake with the billing and parts of the order were also wrong. Complained only to be told they were too busy to deal with me. Such a shame as the food is beautiful.

On Valentines Day ..my son decided to take me out for a meal..and ended up in this lovely cozy resturant Siıchar in Hinckly!! The Ambiance of the pıace Osam....the staff very heıpful...and being gluten, vegan & lactofree..they assisted us very nicely ...the food vas very fresh specially spnich saag paneer brinjal mushroom curry & the pickıes tray...İ shall be using this restursnt again...even though if i have to travel for 30 miles ...it sure made my day❤ specially vith the special supprises of jelly babies mints and Nice brandy :)))) complimentary!! in the end!!

Amazing I came on valentine's Day was very nice of the restaurant to accommodate me and mum the food was amazing pure freshness one of the best if not the best Indian food I've ever had thanks a lot to the whole silchar team for the complementary brandy and sweets I will definitely return again to have the amazing food that you provide.

Fantastic meal, had the tandoori salmon as a main course and it was delicious. 2 fillets of salmon cooked to perfection. Will definitely have it again. Great value meal 😀

We were here yesterday evening for my nephew's birthday meal, a total of 20 of us ate and it was great. I had gone in a little earlier to decorate the table but they weren't quite ready for us so we popped over the road for a drink, came back 15mins later and the staff had already done it for me. Totally unexpected but extremely appreciated. Everyone's orders went smoothly and the food was delicious, as usual. We were made to feel welcome all night and would strongly recommend a large get together here. Thanks again guys.

Have been to Silchar several times and the food has always been nice. Have been twice over the last couple of weeks - once for the buffet and once for the feast. The buffet is pretty boring for vegetarians - a vegetable curry and a potato curry... where is the paneer? Meat eaters get loads of choice, at least make the veggie dish worth having.

Would give this place 5* every single time!!! Usually come for Sunday buffet and a odd weekday take away and we travel from Coventry as we wouldn’t go to any other curry house. The food is always excellent and the spice and taste is always up to scratch. The service is always 5* too you never feel rushed and it’s always relaxed. If it’s busy on a Sunday they always manage to fit us in and we have never been turned down. Would 1000% recommend this place! Amazing food❤️
