Sicily in Epsom and Ewell

Lovely family restaurant with great decor. Service was great and the food was delicious. My adult children said they enjoyed it and want to return.

Really lovely food, good choices, amazing service

Great evening. Lovely atmosphere. Superb food and lovely waiting staff. Only spoiled by strong cooking smell that hung around on our clothes for days!!

We were a Band of friends working at the Epsom Playhouse right opposite the restaurant. Our usual restaurant was not available so after a conversation with the lovely Grace we booked here. Upstairs table with funky lighting. Service good - we had been advised to preorder and that worked out fine. Two pizzas and a good bottle of wine came to £60. The pizzas were enormous and had a lovely flavour. Tricky to eat even with the pizza cutters supplied. Our friends pasta varied from “ok to v good.” Thanks to staff and restaurant for all the help. We were given dessert menus and some of us would have ordered but we were left waiting a while to order and ran out of time!

Higher expectations but was left disappointed with very slow service and bad food for way too much money. They screwed up our order, leaving one in our party without a meal and didn’t take it off the bill. Seeing the chef and waitress were Italian we had expected authentic Italian food, unfortunately meatballs were completely dry, pizza raw in the middle and the sauce was just canned passata with no seasoning.

Service was so slow. Waiters were inexperienced. Certain food and drinks ran out. No apologies made. Food was brought one meal at a time after 2 hours from arrival. Forgot one meal. Had to push to get money off for such a poor experience. Food was ok although pasta dishes were small and found a long dark hair in one dish.

The restaurant has a very atmospheric atmosphere, Italian decor, you can hear the music on the tables in the background, the lights are what makes the atmosphere, the food is very good, the risotto with mushrooms is amazing, the pastas were also there, it was a birthday, so a larger group and everyone was happy with their food, the service was nice, we could bring our own cake 🎂 to make surprise . Good prices, I can definitely recommend this place, parking nearby.

Thanks to Sicily for making my Mums 80th birthday celebration really special. I called beforehand and Grace couldn’t have been more helpful. We pre-ordered mains as our group was large and everything was exactly as ordered and delicious. We stayed for 3 hours and were not rushed. Proper family time, excellent food and service when it was needed. I would recommend.

Wait time. To take the order 55 minutes and serving time 25 more minutes, the owner was unable to apologize for the decrepit salad, and the rest acceptable, we will not return.

When we arrived the staff were very friendly and attentive, they made us up a special table because there was 7 of us. The service was very good and they helped me make my main choice because I could not decide there were so many nice things on the menu. The kids meals came up first and they were big portions and very tasty. Then all the adults food came up and it was all very nice and the dishes I got recommended I would definitely have again. Will definitely go back.

The service was very slow and a bit unorganised. The foods were bland and didn’t live up to the expectations of an authentic Italian restaurant!

Our first visit here after reading some good reviews. Sadly for us this wasn’t a good experience. The restaurant had been busy, no excuse for poor service, no attention paid to taking our order promptly nor checking in with us once food was delivered. Food was “ok”. Two large prawns for £12 overpriced. Long wait to mains arriving with no apology for this. Salad missing which I had to ask for. Sauté potties were hard. No cutlery which we also had to ask for. There were staff just stood at the bar talking to each other and the manger having discussions with one of them about a complaint that had occurred……. Look after your customers and worry about everything else afterwards! When the bill came we decided not to pay the service because of the lack of service. This was reasonably explained to the manager and his response was to loudly say “thank you for sharing this with everyone”. He was almost arrogant and we left quite promptly after this exchange. Whilst there we saw one table walk out and two complain. We won’t be returning there as there are certainly much better places a short walk away.

Everyone is so friendly and the food is amazing

lovely restaurant, some lovely decorations, and lovely atmosphere with great music. you can tell the distinction that this is a sicilian restaurant, not italian which is refreshing. very welcoming and really friendly servers. the food is fantastic, been a few times and everyone i have gone with has loved their food. you can tell it’s made fresh, the pizza is supposedly amazing. really nice garlic bread and my main (pictured) was so good, best breaded chicken i’ve ever eaten. fast service and reasonable prices for the quality of the food. not accessible though, steps to get in to the restaurant, toilets are upstairs and no elevator from what i could see.

Lovely 60th birthday celebration with family. Excellent pre dinner cocktails. Food and service were both good. However, "butter" with the ciabatta starter was certainly not butter - a small criticism but disappointing none the less.

The atmosphere and design of the restaurant are excellent. Staff very friendly and welcoming, but the food was mediocre. Fish was overcooked, and 1 starter was a bit tasteless. The rest of the food was OK but nothing special. Just expected a bit more.

We previously visited just after lockdown and had awful service, putting it down to new staff we thought hey let us revisit, hopefully they’ve trained their staff better. Absolutely not. The manager took our booking over a month in advance for a birthday, but on the day, oh no we have no booking for you guys. We even called to confirm beforehand. Clearly not the first people for this to happen to, as standing in the queue to get, in a family in front had their booking not written in their book, despite having the proof on their phone! Go for the food, not the service, they’ll treat you awfully before you walk in the door.

An authentic Sicilian restaurant with delicious freshly cooked food. Attentive staff and friendly owner…nothing too much trouble. A leisurely meal with sensible pauses between courses to allow for all the food to be freshly prepared.

Went with family for a pleasant evening out. Unfortunately service was terrible, had to wait nearly an hour for our mains. When they were served it was only the adults meals and not the children's. After waiting for 10 mins we were told they were on their way. About 5 mins later the eldest child had her meal delivered, but not the youngest. After complaining again we were told it was a system problem and that the missing meal would be delivered shortly. With that, the youngest member of our family burst into tears as nobody was eating. Finally the missing meal was delivered and we all endured a cold meal. To cap it all, the bill was originally presented with a service charge included. I declined the bill on the grounds of no service at all. We will obviously not be returning.

great spot for a business meal or a social gathering, great food and drinks, staff are excellent and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit

We will go back, maybe next time the staff might look as if they like working there, maybe we went on an off night, we all have them, staff didn't seem to interested but then maybe it was just us. Very good food.

This wonderful little gem is situated opposite the stage door of the Epsom playhouse. The outside does not do this resturant justice. A wonderful italian decor with a warm welcome from the host was encouraging. The menu was varied with something for all beautifully home cooked and presented at reasonable prices, a good drinks menu to complement your meal .

Food was great, always love coming here. Service a little slow but that could purely be down to it being mothers day

The food was really bad. Everything tasted off, chips were really over cooked and lasagna was also a bit burned and very sweet. My daughter had pizza and she’s not fussy when it comes to pizza at all yet she still hasn’t finished it which says a lot. On top of that, service was very slow and only 3 tables occupied in the whole restaurant yet it took half an hour for pizza to come out… 10% service charge automatically added for very slow service… we had to ask for a few things more than twice. I wouldn’t recommend and would encourage to avoid.

Thanks for ruining our Mother’s Day, Sicily. We booked a table for 3 well in advance (24th Feb). However, when reached the restaurant we realized that the table (table 5) you have reserved for us is a small one, usually should accommodate 2 person. Still we didn’t want to spoil our day and agreed to that table. The strangest part is, there was no way to access the chairs. Even your manager couldn’t get in. You mentioned that other better tables are reserved for REGULARS. That might be your business strategy to attract repeat customers but in that case you should have cancelled our reservation so that we could try to find another. You didn’t have right to ruin our day. Thanks again for the excellent hospitality and cute focus. New customers looking to venture a new Italian eatery, be aware!!!

I understand the pressure s of mother's day but... Unfortunately we had the worst experience at this restaurant.I booked it for mother's day for my 97yr old mother in law,myself ,hubby and brother in law based on the reviews.I have worked as a florist for the last 14yrs so this was a meal I very much looked forward to as every previous mother's day was a work day. In summary starters for everyone were very nice except for mine which was prawns without the prawns!! but the sauce was nice. No one attended to our table. We had to find our own napkins, the wait for drinks was silly and well my meal never arrived!and it was only pasta.! So my mother's day meal resulted in a row with hubby and no food so very very grumpy! When we came to pay service charge it was added and again it was added when we asked for it to be removed. Not one apology from 3 different members of staff. Cold food,no food and on mother's day I am feeling rubbish and sad !! 😔

The best Italian restaurant I have found in this country, very friendly and welcoming. We've been going here for many years and it never has let us down. As all dishes are genuine and self-made, there is the occasion that something is not available, e.g. no pistachio ice cream as the right pistachio nuts were not available, but I see this as a positive, as it shows that high quality produce will not be replaced by inferior alternatives. Can only highly recommend (and have done so quite often already to friends who were all impressed)

Had a wonderful dinner on Christmas Eve. Food was absolutely delicious, portions generous. Pizza and bruschetta are well recommended. Price was reasonable and service amazing. Worth a visit!

Food was really good however the service was incredibly slow. Sat down at 8, got our first drink about 8.25 and didn't get to order our food until 9

The food was just ok - not the Italian experience we have had previously. From start to finish service was rushed. No time between starter and main, and although I asked several times not bring the main straight away, this was ignored. No atmosphere what so ever, staff just smiled and nothing to say. Differently much better italian restaurant out there. I thought the Italian loved a dining experience, clearly not these one - just over an hour. More interested getting you in and out.

Food was very tasty and food portions. Hot and seasoned well with just enough spice. Service was a tad slow, especially given pre-ordered food, but otherwise the whole experience was very good and new interior is very appealing.

What a hidden gem of a restaurant. The decor, ambience, and service were fabulous. The food was some of the best Italian I've tasted, and I lived in Italy for a year. It will become one of our regular restaurants. Can not rate everything highly enough. Thank you.

The food was delicious, the waiters/waitresses was one of the most friendly people I’ve ever met in my entire life. And you just have to admit that once you have a meal in there! The quality is so good. That you might think that you were in a super fancy restaurant. And I do recommend having a go in that restaurant, even if you need to wait, I promise you that it worth the wait 😁! Also, they will ask you like any other restaurant would ‘Do you have any diet or allergies?’ You can also choose either inside or outside. Your choice, completely free.

First time here and it's fantastic. The decor, service and food were all brilliant, this is a gem of a place in Epsom.

Popular local restaurant, food was very good, a large menu with a lot of choice. Downfall for me was the slow service that has been mentioned in other reviews. I don't like to be rushed, nothing worse, but it's almost as bad when yu are waiting for orders to be taken and food to be served. I don't think being busy is an excuse. Apart from that I enjoyed the meal and the restaurant has a great atmosphere and there is a nice outside garden area. I woud go again and would recommend the food with the proviso of don't go if you are time limited! Service charge added automatically....a pet hate and on this occasion I would have reduced it.

Avoid the garden, midges and mosquitos bit our party constantly. Service was really slow for 7 of us on a not so busy Friday night. I'm not into Italian food but the others were, so I asked for the kids menu and they said "it's strictly for kids only", I've no idea why other than to be pompous. I had fries from the main menu, which were good but everything else made fr not the best restaurant experience.

My favorite restaurant and always tastes amazing. They are very clear about their allergies as well which is really important

I ordered from Uber risotto alla pescatora. MY GOD the risotto was smelling so bad!!! I had to throw it away.. please do not serve bad quality food for those who order online… 🤢🤢🤢

We were visiting Epsom and went to this restaurant last week. The food was good, good size. We wanted to stay in the garden as it was sunny and it was open but unfortunately it wasn't that inviting and clean. We moved inside where is very nice. The other thing that I believe is not great is the bathroom. The restaurant is nice and the food is authentic Italian but some things aren't that inviting. That said if you are passing thru Epsom and you want somewhere to eat is definitely a good place.

No apology, no recognition, no offer of a drink, and the cheek to add a 10% service charge when they brought our bill. We had early dinner tonight and was amazing. Staff were so attentive and the food was outstanding. Restaurant is lovely and has a wonderful outside area we will definitely be back.

Stopped at this eatery whilst in the area and was pleasantly delighted to find some good quality Italian food. There was 6 of us and all of us were happy with our choices of antipasti and main. Calamari, garlic pizza, baked mushrooms as starters and fettuccine alle vongole, carbonara, risotto and linguine alla siciliana for main. Will be back.

Very disappointing meal. The food was luke warm. Starters very overpriced for what they were. All fairly tasteless and under seasoned. Sent lamb chops back twice as they were cold and very tough, the original ones came back twice, so then they were as tough as old boots and inedible, not offered fresh ones. Not what we expected for the high prices. Sadly the large table next to us had a similar experience and were refusing to pay the bill. Won't be returning.

A real gem, quiet and unassuming from the outside, but magical on the inside. Genuine authentic Sicilian food served beautifully by warm and friendly staff.

Poor and disappointing experience - food made with no love or care and extremely poor service. Took 20 minutes to get the waiter to come to get our drinks order and another 15 minutes to get us our drinks. The fish I ordered was too long to prepare according to the manager so I ordered a salad where prawns were not seasoned and just taken out of the tin with no sauce. Absolutely awful. Will never go back again.

my husband and I went there for lunch. The restaurant was cosy and well decorated. The lady served us was friendly and attentive. We ordered three course set lunch. The appetisers are average. The mains are good, especially the penne was full of taste of salmon. However, the dessert made me disappointed …… I believe the tiramisu was cut from the ready made cake from supermarket.

An Italian owned restaurant(not a chain) with excellent range of pastas and risottos. Menu prices not cheap but pretty average for a very nice restaurant (and not noisy! you can have a conversation without shouting)

Waited an hour for food. Was A Birthday celebration which was totally ignored. They were fussing over a large party and we’re not remotely interested in a table of two. No smiles from the waitress. Won’t be returning

Always delicious, fresh food. A varied menu. Service is at the right level of attentive. I have never been disappointed at this restaurant.

Delicious. Just been for the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. How did I overlook this gem right on my doorstep? Not only authentic, but the staff are genuinely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Superb.

We don’t eat out regularly but we’ve returned to Sicily a few times now as we love it. The atmosphere is relaxing and cosy and the service staff are friendly and attentive. Our food last night was really good. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and chose Spaghetti Siciliana which was delicious.My husband enjoyed the Fettuccine Pollo & Fungi which again was happily finished. We both chose a glass of red wine which were very good and a very fair price. We’ll be back!

Really nice, cosy, spacious place, where the food is just outstanding. If you think, you know Italian food, you will be pleasantly surprised, once you take the first bite. This place deserves “six stars”.

A group of six - we arrived as arranged @8.30 to be greeted and seated instantly. Delicious food & wine. Starters - we had mussels, bruschetta, goats cheese & caramelized apples on crostini. Mains - we had salmon with saute potatoes, spaghetti, penne, veal. Desserts - we had limoncello with sorbet; hazelnut ice cream with amaretto, tiramisu. 6 people, 3 courses each, 3 bottles of excellent wine - total bill £184, including service charge! All served at a steady pace and always with a smile. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Very pleased with our first visit to Sicily, Epsom! We went with small children and the staff are excellent and do all they can to welcome families. food was delicious, and full of flavour from start to finish. Will visit again for sure!

Like a LOT of other people have had to do unfortunately, this is a very bad review. The food was absolutely dreadful - bland, not what it’s says on the menu, completely overpriced and missing so many ingredients. They are trying to cut costs by not giving the customer what they ordered and thinking we are idiots and going to accept it, but all they are going to do is lose customers as I definitely will not be going back and would not recommend anyone does. The staff are beyond rude especially the manager - Grace. They are not happy to help they just say they can’t do anything. If you want to pay ridiculous prices for something you didn’t order, I would say go, but otherwise save your money and go to some of the other amazing restaurants in Epsom as this was a horrific experience. Very disappointed.

We went for a late Sunday lunch pre cinema. Very quiet in there. We had spaghetti Vongole and calamari. Not too bad but all pretty average taste wise. Friendly enough service.
