Ask Italian in Epsom and Ewell

The service is good but not excellent. Good quality pizza thin and crispy. I recommend this place if you want to eat a classic Italian pizza

The staff at Ask Italian Epsom were all fantastic!! We visited for an early dinner on Saturday 14th September and we were so impressed with how friendly and attentive all the staff were. Our food was absolutely delicious, except for the side portion of chips that we got which were not cooked enough so we left a few of those. We would still highly recommend it as a restaurant though and love going there. Thank you.

This is an honest review about my general experience. I’ve been into the restaurant many times and a couple of times it was let down by a female waitress who had a serious attitude, on two occasions. I did tell the Manager who genuinely wanted to understand my experience and asked me to tell him the truth when I was hesitant. He listened attentively and it didn’t happen again. The food is lovely and my fussy children both love it. The lemonade, desserts and the sharing board are gorgeous. The olive oil bread with balsamic & olive oil is divine. Today I ordered via Uber eats and half of my food was missing. I called the restaurant and complained. The manager Mehmet made me a whole new order, I came to collect it, he kept me updated with progress and gave this to us on the house. He came outside of the restaurant to give this to us personally. I was really grateful for this. He remembered me from before, even though it’s been ages since we’ve been into the restaurant. Mehmet has the customer’s best interests at heart, puts our experience over money, values our custom and goes out of his way to put inevitable mistakes (when relying on others) right. He has an excellent service manner and I will go back again and again because I trust that I’m valued as a customer and we love the food. We have been to Italy & eaten at many Italian restaurants. I would say the food is on a respectable level of quality and flavour. On my daughter’s bday, I ordered food from Coco Di mama which is situated within the restaurant but I made a mistake with my order. When I called to ask if they could help, they kindly sent an additional pasta dish for her birthday, with Happy Birthday on the box. Their mid-week promotions on Ubereats are very good. Today we got a free pizza with our order. I’ve given 5 stars because overall, they’ve provided excellent service and I do believe they deserve this rating. Thank you Mehmet for your amazing service.

14th September 2024, Epsom. The choice and quality of the food was excellent and the staff provided friendly and attentive service. A special mention goes to Hyulya, who made our evening extra special.

Fantastic food and great service

It's always a pleasure visiting Ask Italian Epsom. Aneta was really very welcoming, pleasant and at our request all the time. Food was exquisite. No complaint at all during my visit.

Firstly the staff were brilliant. Very attentive. Secondly the meals were very good. The sea bass was excellent. But thirdly the piped in music was awful. Far too loud and made it difficult to chat with my partner. I'm not too sure whether I will return. Quieter places exist in Epsom like Wetherspoons. Didn't stay for dessert.

Friday, 6 September 2024 I come to Ask Italian today at 15:30, Okan is the Super nice staff to serve me with a King prawn spaghetti, he is really professional, kind, considerate and always with a smart and sweet smile, thus, customers will come back again not just because of food. Okan can attract and take customers' back. I enjoy the food and the restaurant' environment. Today is Friday, September 6, 2024. I visited Ask Italian, an Italian restaurant. I was entertained by an employee named Okan. He was professional, sincere, polite, and always maintained a very friendly and friendly smile. Therefore, many customers never came back, not only because of the delicious food and environment, but also Because of employee Okan's warm hospitality, his contribution to the restaurant is indispensable. -------------------------- Mehmet is a very nice person, he always serve with smiles, patient, polite and humorous, therefore, he can keep many customers to come back. Mehmet is a very friendly, patient, polite, humorous and always smiling employee. Therefore, he can always make customers linger and continue to spend money after purchasing.

The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was attended to. We are incredibly grateful for such a wonderful experience.

On arrival we had an awkward wait to be greeted. I had to hold eye contact with one of the managers who was busy chatting to a colleague who wa a behind the bar. She uttered something under her breath as she broke conversation (it may have been nothing but it felt like it was low key about me having interrupted her chat). None of the staff smiled, and a few of them looked like they didn't want to be there. The kids starters didn't come, we had to ask for them. Olives were put on a child's pizza when wed specifically asked for JUST cheese.(mistakes happen) we were not offered any condiments or cheese, we had to get this ourselves. (We noticed another table having to do the same) We were not asked how the food was.The food was good so I made point of letting one of the chefs know before we left. I was not shown the balance in the card machine when tapping to pay or given to option to tip. For all I know I could have paid any amount .My family and I have frequented various ASK locations across the country. My wife has worked for the chain at Manager level so she picks up on deficiencies.

We were seated immediately, and the service we received was exceptional. Our waitress, Hulya, was not only incredibly kind and helpful, but her extensive knowledge of the menu was impeccable. The food was outstanding, but it was the warm atmosphere and Hulya's top-notch service that will have us returning to 'Ask Italian' again and again.

Our server Agnija paid such amazing attention to our table, making sure that every single thing we needed was there. Would definitely come again due to such fantastic service.

Our waitress, Agnija, was superb. The service was fast and she was attentive without being "in your face". What is more she did it with a smile on her face. Food was good as well!

Absolutely loved the whole experience. I would 100% come back and want to have the same dishes and drinks that I did today - that’s how good it was. Would recommend the Pollo Milanese - delicious! And the non-alcoholic cocktails were so refreshing.

Came into Epsom Ask with family to celebrate my father's 85th Birthday. Massive thanks to Okan for wonderful service and atmosphere he created. He was very attentative to our needs and made our special evening very memorable. All of us left in fantastic mood, especially my father who was over the moon. Highly recommend this restaurant for such high importance events.

We came in on a Saturday night, the food was great. The service we received from our waitress was spot on, couldn’t have asked for more. The only disappointment was with our drinks, it took forever to arrive and one of the glasses had a lipstick stain.

I was expecting more. I've been to a few Italian restaurants and I have always had a great experience, but this time, for the first time I got really disappointed. The service was good, the ambiance is nice. However, the food is tasteless. I had the 3 courses, entry, main, and desert, and all 3 were appalling. I was hungry, but it was difficult to eat. It's unexpectedly frustrating. If you know what Italian is, definitely, you won't appreciate their Italian.

Another amazing meal at Ask Epsom. We love coming here and areregular customers for a very good reason. Every single member of staff is friendly and courteous. Today was a busy day and despite this service was impeccable. I had the pollo Milanese. Should have had it years ago. So delicious. Better breaded chicken than at the Wolesley. Seriously tasty. Always service with a smile. Great team. Great service. Great food. Our favourite place to visit in Epsom. Today’s manager Hyulya deserves a special shout out. Working so hard to make sure every customer was looked after. Great team and a shout out to Agnija and Gerry too who are always great too.

Great selection of starters including the Calamari which is excellent. The Calabria with love pizza is delicious. Great team ambience who worked very hard to make the experience enjoyable and safe. Secret garden out the back is lovely.

Would recommend this Ask Italian. My experience with the other branches did not provide the quickest service but this branch was amazing!!! I was so surprised with how quickly they brought out our food and drinks. They were also very accommodating with my friend’s cheese allergy, even though we were at an Italian restaurant! Delicious food too :)

In a town devoid of a choice of independent restaurants I chose Ask, as I regularly use the one in Oxford, without issue. Epsom Ask Italian.... What a mistake! I can't even say the food was mediocre... It was truly appalling. Buratta Caprese served with a mass of dry rocket, almost totally undressed and no seasoning at all. But... Tiny shreds of blackened basil, which was clearly well beyond it's best. Sent it back and it returned with marginally better basil. Also served with the tiniest slithers of tomato. Nothing like web site photos. I expected fresh and vibrant, but it didn't turn up. Calzone Carne Piccante..... Safe bet? NOT AT ALL!!! full of beef ragu and mushrooms but no ham and only a single slice of pepperoni. The dough was simply half still raw. I did show it to Gerry (duty manager, I think) who agreed it was raw, so clearly not cooked to legal temperature... I asked for my bill, paid the entire amount and took the bottle of Trebianno with me. The 1 star is solely for service. Gerry and the young lady that tragically had to serve and return to the kitchen my Italian tradegy were both polite, understanding and courteous. So disappointed... Sorry guys.

Pizza was good, gnocchi is a bit too soft and I like it more chewy. The pulled beef pasta was wonderfully made.

Exceptionally quick service. The decor is lovely, I'd think I'd have preferred a table nearer the centre of the room rather than up against the wall, but that's a minor criticism, the whole atmosphere is lovely for a casual yet cute date night. Staff was attentive and also very nice when I asked about food intolerances. Food itself: bf had the fresh egg carbonara but thought the portion was too small. He thought the chocolate Edna was 'entertaining' when the sauce melted the shell. For me, I went for the linguine Di mare (seafood pasta). Very nice sauce, I was expecting bland but got had a little kick and was very tasty. I went for the vegan gelato salted caramel and two sorbet scoops (mango and berry) (lactose intolerant) - very tasty and enjoyed it. I had the trebbiano wine which was described as a Chardonnay blend but I felt lacked the richness. It was good with food though.

Really good - but it was too busy for the number of staff. Really great that you get good discounts in the week but staff are overworked they need to bring in more for busy times as its a long wait to get serves which is always a shame and doesnt set the tone

Recently didn’t have the best service at the epsom branch which i reviewed on here, it was obvious to them that it was me whom wrote it so when I visited again they recognised me in which they informed me of lol (which was quite awkward) but I can’t express how much nicer the experience was this time around, they listen and take on board what customers say, the food and the service was what I’ve always known Ask Italian to be, thank you

Went to Ask for team lunch and it was an amazing experience! The staff was lovely. Mehmet was really nice and recommended a lovely dessert.

I always love Ask Italian, the location in Birmingham has been my favourite so far but this one isn't bad at all. The place is gorgeous and the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The food was decent, one of the sides (breaded cheese?) my cousin ordered mostly burnt and the calamari was slightly underwhelming, the sauce provided with each side was less than the usual amount but those are the only complaints I had. The mains were fantastic, tasty and presented brilliantly in typical Ask Italian style. I had the Fettuccine Bolognese and I very much enjoyed it. So as an evening dinner with the family, it was definitely a great experience! Would recommend!

Most of the food was tasty however the King prawn pizza was bland and had no king prawns, perhaps shrimp size at best.

Fast and efficient service. Great food that came quickly even though it was very busy.

FOOD 1*, SERVICE 4* Emily the waitress got 5 stars, very nice service. However, Easter set menu not shown in the official app/website and actually the app/website didn’t work: Kids meals ordered but never come. And £2 additional charge for butterfly king prawns as starter with Easter set never shown on menu or told while ordering, until printed on bill. Operational mistake. Food is the most important for a meal, I think. LINGUINE CON FRUTTI DI MARE (seafood pasta): mussels not fresh; clams only shells, without meats; linguine is soft, not al dente, very disappointed. The kids’ pizza dough and the MEATBALLS AL FORNO are good. Other foods including butterfly king prawns, brownie, tiramisu were normal. In all, this was not a good experience. And not optimistic for improvement as the restaurant has never responded for the comments here.

Came here for a family meal and had a great friendly inviting atmosphere. Brilliant customer service by our waitress Agnija, who was very friendly and accommodating for our requests. Good restaurant for gluten free and other adjustments. Will definetly go back again!
