Really good food and excellent service no need to say anything else definitely recommend will be going back

Still in shock at the rudeness of one of the waiters. I thought it was a joke at first that I was refused a glass of water when ordering a round of drinks . After spending £660 The waiter bluntly said we don’t sell water , walked off, served everyone’s alcoholic drink and ignored my simple request ??.

Horrible restaurant with bad service. Ordered pasta but I received rice instead & ordered 2 cokes but received 1 coke. Had only 2 breads but paid for 3 breads. Food was ok but the service was terrible & it was my birthday dinner so I tried not to complain to keep my feeling better but I don’t want to visit the place again.

The seafood linguine was perfection! I'm always a sucker for when the whole prawn is given and I get to scoop out the meat from the shell. The portion was so much that I even had to bag it to take home, so portion size was great. Our host was great. Also, good place for babies, they had high chairs. It's quiet in the afternoon so it's nice for a couple date.

I eat here regularly with my friends and it is lovely. The food is good, the staff very friendly and the decor is attractive. The atmosphere is always friendly and comfortable. The portions are large and well cooked. September 24 and I am adding to my previously perfect review Tonight a very special evening was entirely spoilt by a table of adults who failed to control their screaming children.We left after main course and another table also complained and asked for their bill immediately. If the management/ staff of a given restaurant does not set down expectations, challenge noise and disturbance appropriately when there are complaints, they will lose customers. Such a shame.

First time coming here and it did not disappoint, the food was outstanding both had starters sardines and bruschetta, my partner had the sirloin which was cooked to perfection best steak he’s had in the uk (his words) and I had the penne. I love Italian food and it was just perfection from start to finish. If you haven’t already tried this restaurant I highly recommend it you will not be disappointed. Look forward to coming back.

Had lunch here this afternoon, what a steak, in fact it has to be the best steak i've had in the past 30 years, perfectly grilled and superb quality, my wife had a delicious pasta, we had grilled sardines for starters, wowwww, Excellent We shall return asap, thank you for the great lunch, great service and a very reasonable bill!!! The best restaurant in Epsom and Ewell by a mile!!! Gracias Jefe!!

Traditional Italian that also does a delicious Sunday roast ! Plentiful portions, We have been coming here for 7 years and food is always very good. Very experienced attentive staff, who, though busy, are happy to chat, Highly recommended

Menú choice was excellent the food was exceptional and the service was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going again.

Everything was nice and very reasonably priced. Only weird thing was the Bruschetta which was basically pizza slices and not actually Bruschetta

A last minute arrival and the staff were incredibly accommodating!! They welcomed us and had a chat to understand what our tastes were. We didn't need to look at the menu and they brought us the most incredible meal each! Went here midweek. 730pm was not very busy, but by 9pm, it was packed. I had deep-fried calamari, which was soggy and overcooked , and my partner had sardines, which was very nice. For the main, I had fillet steak medium rare, but unusually had no sear on it, and my partner had sirloin steak rare, but was very fatty. With drinks £130

Decided to book for a family birthday dinner. It was an early booking as we had very young children with us. The service was challenging as they were preparing for addition parties to arrive. Having eventually been served with our orders taken it took a long time to arrive. The main course for one of the adults consisted of a steak cooked in Borola wine . On arrival it was evident all was not good as the pungent smell was overpowering. Presenting it to the staff he immediately took it to the kitchen and returned with the chef agreeing ‘it’s not good’. We declined any further replacement settled the bill (less the cost of the individual meal. We will not be returning.

Met girlfriends for Christmas gathering, staff were very friendly & helpful. all the food was food great, hot, plentiful, well presented & tasted great. The restaurant was very,very busy so the noise level was high, needed to 'shout' on occasion . Starters & mains took a while, that was understandable due to the volume of diners in the the restaurant, perhaps we need to adopt a more continental approach & relax between courses.

Very slow service waited 1hr 30mins for main meal only got mains then because i complained.

This dish, served with butter, chilli, lemon, steamed vegetables, and sautéed potatoes, was an epitome of culinary brilliance. The fish was fresh, moist, and bursting with flavors that tantalized my palate. The restaurant's location is another plus, with ample parking available nearby, and just a two-minute walk from the car park. My dining experience concluded with a robust double shot of espresso, the perfect end to a delightful meal. Living in Bromley, an hour's drive from the restaurant, one might consider the distance a deterrent. However, the exceptional quality of food and service makes every mile worth it. I am already looking forward to my next visit to this culinary gem.

Went for a work lunch with colleagues today. Food was amazing. I ordered a steak with all the sides. My colleagues ordered lasagna, spaghetti bolognese, and other pasta dishes and was amazed how generous their servings are. Their pork ribs starter look like a main in terms of portion size! Portions are huge which I love. I really enjoyed today's lunch. I live in Kent but I will be coming back. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is lovely and very good service. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Had a terrible meal last night with my daughter. Steak wasn't good cremated surved with broccoli, cauliflower and potatoes not normal with steak .My prawn scallops asparagus with rice was horrible. No scallops or asparagus to be seen. The mushrooms were so small and sliced they must have come out of a tin. Very disappointed been going for many year's and the worst meal we have had there. The whitebait was fine and survice ok but very slow.

We attended as part of a business delegation. The rest of the group had been before but It was my first time. The restaurant is traditional Italian, simple menu and set menu but all the dishes came out great and good service.

Great menu amazing atmosphere and lovely staff

We ate on Saturday 9th September at 19.30. Our group was 3x couples who are good friends, but who hadn't seen each other for a while. We decided to meet here as equi-distant for Ewell, Fulham and Reigate. We arrived at different times, dependent on traffic, and were immediately seated at the outside terrace for drinks which was very relaxed and good fun. We were moved, very gently, to our table inside and then had fantastic meals! The staff were very professional, but also friendly, and managed to strike the best level of interaction with us, without being intrusive. We all ordered different starters. mains, and desserts, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was very attentive, and ordering drinks before, during and after the meal was easily achieved. Cannot wait to go again - really lovely evening.

Service was impeccable and perfectly timed, quiet night but maintained a lovely atmosphere. Portions were huge and couldn't finish them but really tasty. First time visiting and am confident we'll be back. Grazie mille.

We had a lovely dinner for 4 on Saturday night. Our booking was for 8:30pm and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived, so I think they earlier sittings are more popular. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was great. Staff were friendly and helpful in choosing wines. (We had a Sancerre Rose which wasn’t on the wine list, so always worth asking for recommendations) Starters were generous positions Steaks were good and cooked to our individual tastes Would definitely recommend and go back again

Sadly this is the last time me and my wife will visit. Have been coming here every year for our wedding anniversary the last 17 years. Over time we have seen a slow gradual decline in all areas of this restaurant. The choice of dishes is now on one sheet of a4 in laminated plastic, before it was a binder with many choices of fish , meat, pastas ect. This visit we were left waiting to be seated while the staff were busy with a large group of diners. Short staffed for a Saturday evening. We were seated in a corner next to a large family screaming and shouting. I could not hear my wife speaking to me. Felt like a fast food restaurant not the evening we were looking forward to. We decided to leave at that point and say farewell to Il Capriccios for good.

Best Italian restaurant for miles

My friend and I both got food poisoning from the chicken stroganoff we had for dinner yesterday suffering diarrhoea and stomach pain for hours though the night. The dinner was clearly not freshly prepared and cooked. Appalling! Staff were rather indifferent and unwelcoming. The tables have table cloths and the atmosphere appears welcoming but our eating experience was awful and this was our first visit. I would not recommend this restaurant but if you do go, choose very carefully from the rather limited menu. You have been warned!

Food had tinned mushrooms. Compulsory cover charge was for bread which not all of us had n beer warm. Number of prawns in the prawn cocktail has decreased by half. No vegetables came with main meal but our extra order of courgettes did, although these were oily - told the reason for this was they were deep fried… Rose wine nice though as was the garlic bread. So, overall whilst the mains were very hot, the quality has decreased and quality poor. Oh dear. Will we be coming back? Will leave you to decide!

The food is Bellissima! Service is great and the atmosphere really friendly. Had lunch here with a friend we opted for the same all the way through and the food was sooooooooo good. We had the chicken in white wine sauce accompanied by roast potatoes, broccoli and carrots and crème brulee for dessert. All amazing. The doors to restaurant are bifold so it has a very open feel. Unfortunately, the day we went it was chucking down with rain but the doors were open and it gives the restaurant a really nice feel. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend Il Capriccio. Generous and delicious portions, happy and capable staff clean (the toilets are always a good barometer) fresh and pleasing environment. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit there.

We went for a birthday party but were very disappointed No drinks menu, the waiter did say they have a wine menu and despite requesting one it never came. No Kids menu The waiter stank from smoking Service was appallingly slow, they never checked on us once we received the food, so never ordered second drinks. We had numerous chipped plates! Bread was borderline stale! We had to request the bill numerous times, despite there being 3 waiters and only 4 tables in the whole restaurant. When the bill came all the food, drinks and desserts were grouped in a combined totals, with a big party and multiple families it was difficult to sort out the bill as it was not itemised. The food was not bad but the rest of our experience here would definitely not make us come back!!!!

Fantastic meal for birthday party for 26 people. 2 other parties also at same time. Service good. All meals served hot and together. So many good comments from friends about the quality of meal and wine. Large portions. Arranged for child friendly meals for young children. Sorry didn't take photos of food but presentation especially starters very good. Great event.

Couldn't have had a better Christmas dinner.

My sister had her 60th birthday celebration here last weekend with around 25 people. Though the place was packed to the gunnels, the food was plentiful and delicious as always, service as swift as it could be with such a crowd and we all had a wonderful time together. The festive menu covered all tastes and diets including vegetarian and various allergies among the group. My salmon in champagne sauce was totally delicious. The whole bill came in at far less than I would have thought for such a lavish 3 course spread for 25 people. We will seriously consider booking again for the next big family event.

Food was average nothing authentic. Didn't even offer Italian pizza. Service was exceptionally slow had to chase starters then main. Atmosphere was not relaxing there were few tables were exceeding loud made conversation difficult without rising your voice. Service was very blunt no gratitude for choosing this restaurant on leaving. Won't be returning

We literally love this restaurant, we go all the time because the food and atmosphere is just so nice. I would encourage anyone going to have the garlic prawns from the starters, they will blow your mind.

Disappointed after reading all the reviews and visited= calamari was undercooked, steak over cooked and beef stroganoff meat was chewy and a little tasteless. Prosciutto E Melone, Bruschetta and lasagne were all good as was the house red wine, but I wouldn't have put this review up if the team asked why our plates were left with so much uneaten (other than the lasagne). Given all the good reviews here maybe it was just a bad day in the office for them?

Excellent food and entertainment great value for money decent portions also very good to host events staff will go beyond to host to your needs. And two years later the quality is still we amazing food so delicious portions still amazing and big and price still so reasonable one of our favourite spots for our family. Their so accommodating to children with highchairs and changing area, super clean , great atmosphere and super friendly.

Just got back from a meal there on Mother’s Day. As a popular, busy restaurant, you’d think they had enough staff to cover a busy day. No, we were kept waiting for our drinks, starters and mains. We arrived at 3 and had our mains at 4.30!!! Staff have always been non attentive and today was no exception. Pretty rude to be honest. Not one person asked us if all was ok. Considering it’s not a cheap restaurant, you expect a certain level of service. No goodbye or acknowledgment to any of us. There was none. So for this reason, we will never return here again.

The service was slow and the waiters were quite rude and pushed across people when serving. The menu is more limited than it used to be. They charge £1 for bread and butter with the meal. They have a £1 per person cover charge which attracts a further 10% Service Charge. The food has always been good here, and still is, but the service and penny pinching mean that we will not rush back.

Lovely place great food and friendly service. Finally an Italian restaurant that isnt all about pizza and pasta. If you love seafood you will love this place.

We ate here on a Saturday lunchtime with friends, the portions were good sizes, the vegetables were cooked and served well.

We dined out at this restaurant with friends after a recommendation. All of us had something different from the menu and we all really enjoyed our food. Portion sizes were good and reasonably priced. Service was a little slow, especially regarding drinks. Very enjoyable evening in a nice restaurant with a nice ambiance

Since my last review we decided to visit Capriccio again to give them the benefit of the doubt. On this visit the restaurant was really busy, jam packed and very hot, every table taken. (Covid crossed my mind, nine of the staff wore a mask). Understandable though as it is a very popular restaurant at reasonable prices. However the chicken in the stroganoff was very tough, the dish didn’t look very appealing and most of it was left. No one asked if our meal was OK, it was plain to see it had hardly been touched. In the meantime a couple of tables close to us became vacant and second sitting walked in. Eight people, Very very loud, shouting, laughing (OK everyone laughs, but please think of other people trying to have a relaxing meal and conversation). They were so loud that we couldn’t wait to leave, so no dessert for us. Of course the management can’t do anything about rowdy customers but it wasn’t a nice relaxing evening, we won’t be going back for a long time. They seem to be a victim of their own success.

Again a fantastic meal, with great service and food. We didn’t have a group lunch the previous year due to covid, but was really good to be able to get together and enjoy the atmosphere.
