This is still a good standard Thai restaurant. I do however believe that it is not the 4*/5* establishment that it was several years ago. This would not stop me using it again though.

The food here is incredible! So tasty and it doesn’t leave you feeling regret after eating too much! Portion sizes are great and the price is reasonable. Very friendly staff and the food came out in good time. Not too long that we were left wondering where are food was and not too quick that it’d make you think the food wasn’t fresh. Will definitely be returning here to satisfy my future Thai cravings.

Stumbled into Siam Smile by chance as I was on Bath Road in the evening and was looking for a place to have dinner. The Thai food here is excellent, I really enjoyed the red Thai curry with duck, as well as the delicious seafood soup. The waiter was very friendly and forthcoming. They have Thai wine here which I have yet to try, but I will certainly be returning.

First visit last night and I was very happy with the food. The dining room is Regency, comfortable and the service was not fussy nor slow. The green curry was perfect for my taste and I have eaten a good few in Thailand. I will return😀

The Best Authentic Thai Food In The UK By Far I Have been coming to Siam Smile for the last 30 years and For the 17 years I've have been living half of my life in Thailand and half of my life in the Uk. I've been to so many Thai Restaurants here in the UK and Thailand and Siam Smile Food is best UK Thai Food and there Prawn Pad Thai is better than most Pad Thai i've had in Thailand

I have eaten there on many occasions and always enjoyed the food, which is fresh and tasty, and the attentive service. One of our party of four declared her dish (Pla Sea Bass Neung) as one of the best meals she had ever eaten. Well worth a visit if you enjoy Thai food.

We were very disappointed as to how hot the food was, which resulted in an unenjoyable evening. Because the restaurant advertises Malaysian and Thai food, we expected to be able to choose spicy Thai food which is milder.Staff were friendly, but menu needs alteration to show both cuisines

Incredible in all aspects. Delicious food, great setting, wonderful hosts. Throughout our stay in Cheltenham we were recommended this restaurant by everyone we spoke to and it’s easy to see why.

Family of 4 staying in Cheltenham zig-zagging The Cotswolds for 3 nights looking for an Asian fare. On May Bank Holiday (May 31) arrived at 5:45 pm without reservations and very cordially invited in despite opening time shown as 6:00 p.m. Interior was immaculate, fastidiously clean and safe. Bright plain white, wrinkle-free table cloth quickly revealed the level of attention paid to making sure this place is far more premium than the menu prices suggest. Front of house was manned by a one-man show, in a well-pressed black polo tee neatly tucked into an equally well-pressed tailored black trousers - if this was the international ice-skating tournament he'd have scored 10/10. His mannerisms - calm, calculated and yet casual soon disarmed our caveat tourists guard; casual, respectful, no fuss, quick, efficient and friendly to boot. We used the washrooms a flight of stairs down and was impressed with the decor and amenities - smelt as good as the reckoning of a spring day outside, fresh and meticulously clean. The food - we ordered the pad thai, green curry, chargrilled beef spicy salad, seafood tom yum soup and the Siam Smile special fried rice. We asked for plain water to quench the thirst brought on by miles of Roman Saxon villages. The tap water was pleasantly served in a cloud-free glass pitcher jug (none of those bottles that never gets a brushing out so you get an extra sampling of algae when you only wanted water). Simply put, if you were sobering up from an acid trip out of a club down the area you won't be hallucinating as if you're eating in Thailand - it is as good as what you'd get in the Land of Smiles. Ample fresh ingredients, skillfully balanced taste and dignified dinnerware - the whole shebang for a satisfying and proper Thai meal. Finally when it was time to ring up the till, the evening ended up with a lot more smiles - as the prices were more than reasonable for the level of quality, service and experience.

We discovered Siam Smile 5 weeks ago and have been for a takeaway every Friday since. We love the lamb with basil and chilli stir fry, the chicken Laab, the Singapore noodles and the nasi goreng

We reccomend this restaurant to anyone who would like a quiet sit down with really enjoyable southeast asian food. I particularly enjoyed my coconut/mushroom soup and Beef Rendang Curry. My partner enjoyed her spring rolls and Pad Thai.

Excellent tasting and authentic Thai / Malay food with warm service. Well recommended if you are visiting the Cotswolds and staying in or near to Cheltenham and in need of a nice yet reasonably priced dinner. For mains, I had the beef rendang curry with coconut rice and my partner the pad Thai and we shared a side of vegetables in oyster sauce. All well cooked and great size portions (we were hungry as had been walking all day). For starters, I had the Yum Naui beef salad and my partner the Mushroom Tom Kai soup. Both were tasty. Good selection of wine but I enjoyed a Chang beer as was driving and needed something cold to wash down the heat of the salad.

So after reading the reviews I thought this place would be great for a takeaway as we are staying at a hotel for the night. The meal was average at best. I was so disappointed. We ordered the mixed started for 2 which had 1 sesame toast each a Thai fish cake and a spring roll. We ordered the belly pork which was like 2 small spare ribs. I ordered the prawn pad Thai and hubby got the weeping tiger. I have had better pad Thai ready meals. It was ok I am not saying it was horrible but it was nothing special. Hubby got the weeping tiger and it was tasty just not very much of it. The most disappointing thing was the Thai fish cake. You will see from the pics what I mean. Our meal cost is £40 for both of us. That is pricey for takeaway even from a restaurant.

Food was nice. Customer service was a bit on the poor side. Took 20 minutes to get our bill - we were keen to leave as they’d seated people within a metre from us.I was surprised to read a review below from 2 weeks ago saying they were operating at 50% table capacity so book a table - I couldn’t see how you could get more tables in there! Tables weren’t spaced out enough, just like a typical pre-covid seating arrangement. No divides up between tables to compensate for this. Some staff wore masks below their nose. Don’t plan to return unfortunately

Food is so tasty! Would recommend booking as the place isn’t huge and you’ll want to eat here! Lots of delicious food options, I had the green Thai curry and it was so tasty! The coconut rice was very fluffy also. Quick service, delicious food, can’t go wrong!

Having eaten at this restaurant in the past, it was great to see that they were opening up takeaways. My husband and I ordered our meal on Saturday night and were really looking forward to it but what we received was tasteless. I had my favourite prawn Pad Thai, which is usually a delight, but this was a tasteless plate of noodles, a few bits of egg and a few prawns. There was no flavour at all, so much so I had to add a generous amount of sweet chilli sauce just to eat it. My husband had a Malaysian sweet and sour dish that was not only a very small portion but also tasteless. What a waste of money.

An outstanding restaurant experience - the food was excellent and the portion size perfect (not too big - you didn't come away feeling bloated, something I hate). The service was as always, excellent (in nearly all Thai restaurants I find), and the atmosphere just right. Very very good value.

We came as a party of 9 for a work xmas meal and it was excellent; everyone really enjoyed the whole experience and said they would be back. Have been to plenty of Thai restaurants but few were as good as this.

Small place packed out on a wet Thursday night The Tom Kha continues to be the best I have had anywhere but all of their dishes are excellent Always my first port of call when I visit Cheltenham

For me this is by far the best Thai restaurant in Cheltenham. Eaten many places around the UK. And their general quality is superb and never had a better lamb yang!

I really enjoy Thai food and live around 5 minutes away from Siam smile by car. My brother and I visited on a quiet Wednesday night. There were a couple of tables eating too but it was a typical midweek so quieter than usual. I had chicken skewers as a starter. They were accompanied by a peanut sauce. Delicious. My brother opted for curry puffs which were small pasties filled with curried vegetables. I had to take a bite. They were very hot and tasty. I had green Thai chicken curry as my main and my brother chose chicken massaman curry. We both enjoyed them. Portion size was fine. I had a couple of bottles of Singha beer as I wasn't driving. For dessert my brother had Lao banana which was coated in coconut and with ice cream. I had an irish coffee instead. The lady owner was very friendly and chatty. Overall, a very enjoyable first visit. I will definitely go again. Thank you.

We booked as a small group of people on a Friday evening, although we didn't really need to as there were only two other tables occupied throughout the time we were there. The food itself was really good, very tasty, well-priced, lots of fresh flavours and the dishes labelled as very spicy really were, which was fantastic. Our food had clearly been freshly made and was steaming hot - the curry puffs were particularly delicious. However, the food was let down by the atmosphere of the restaurant and the dour service, which is strange considering the many excellent reviews on here. Perhaps the staff differ from those at the weekend. Neither of the staff members serving us gave us a smile (unfortunate, considering the name of the restaurant!) or word of welcome the entire time we were there, and left the impression that they'd rather not have customers at all. We were rushed to make our menu choices, and any little extras that we asked for, such as chopsticks, were met with a grunt and a scowl. This affected the overall atmosphere in the room and meant none of us felt at ease. It's such a shame as this place has a lot of potential and clearly has a number of loyal customers. Despite the lovely food, I definitely won't be going back or recommending to anyone unless they improve the level of service and staff attitudes.

The restaurant decor is very pleasant, service was good, and the food was absolutely excellent. I recommend the Weeping Tiger as a main, and the Laos Banana dessert was to die for ( Banana and coconut in sticky rice with ice cream. ) :)

I have used the Siam Smile for around ten years and it is still my all time favourite restaurant. The food is aways consistantly fantastic. Try the Coconut soup, The weeping Tiger and the fresh prawn salad. The weeping Tiger is fine cuts of beef that is cooked on a hot plate and comes with a wonderful dipping sauce. The Singapore noodles are fabulous. A great place to go if you feeling greedy! Really well worth visiting. Great Thai food cooked by authentic Thai chefs. The owner is a wonderful host.

This evening my partner and I visited the Siam Smile. The food was absolutely fantastic! We visited Thailand in August last year and it tasted just the same and better than what we had experienced when away. The service was perfect and the staff very kind. They were happy to alter their menu to your own liking (my partner asked if they would make a prawn Penang curry for him as they had meat options, they happily did this). We are already planning a revisit to this restaurant!

Love it! Doesn’t disappoint. Great curries and as a starter we split a crispy duck. It’s a must to try!

My family and I went to siam smile and it was the best food I ever had. The service was amazing and had a fabulous experience.

New Years Eve called up at 6 just as they’d opened to order a takeaway for collection at 8 giving them plenty of notice to be told the latest I could collect was 630 as they were soooo busy!! I wrangled a 7 collection and when I went in there was only one couple in there !!?? We ordered mixed starters which only contained one item each and some weird spicy rice cake thing which was so tough and the beef rendang only had six dry and chewy pieces of meat and two potatoes in eat sauce was watery and the rice was sticky ....asked for jasmine won’t use them again !!

They serve very authentic excellent Thai food. I especially enjoyed their pad Thai and seafood dishes. I would highly recommend the restaurant to all. Their staff are very helpful and pleasant with a cozy atmosphere to the restaurant. I would most certainly return.

Para ser totalmente honesto, encontré a la señora que nos servía totalmente desinteresada en nosotros, ¡como si estuviera allí solo porque lo estaba! Sin sonrisas, sin agradecimientos reales ni bienvenidos. . . . . Realmente no nos está haciendo querer volver. Mi amigo y yo nos dimos cuenta de que, después de un par de bocados, me había equivocado de plato y era demasiado tarde para cambiar realmente, pero la "camarera" me dijo que los puse en la mesa en ningún lugar especial para que los elijas, mientras que en realidad ¿Ella colocó cada plato por cada uno de nosotros por separado como si estuviéramos recibiendo el nuestro de la orden que tomó, no difícil con solo 3 de nosotros? Fue culpa nuestra, por lo que ella se sintió! No es una buena experiencia cuando tienen un nuevo y mejor competidor a la vuelta de la esquina, pero no estoy aquí para discutirlos (¡eso será una revisión por separado!). Así que Siam Smile no está impresionado con el servicio, la comida 50/50 su menú parece anticuado, ¿volveré? ? Pero qué gran descubrimiento fue con excelente comida y hospitalidad. Recomiendo encarecidamente el primer plato de fishcake y el plato principal de Phad Thai con langostinos, que estaban recién hechos, bien sazonados y muy bien presentados.

Muy buena comida, buen servicio y amable local tailandés. La amplia selección de menús, el servicio hizo que la comida estuviera bien espaciada, a pesar de estar ocupada. Es un local tailandés en lugar de una gran cadena, por lo que se siente más administrado por una familia en lugar de solo una empresa que sirve comida. Muy recomendable. Estaba ocupado un sábado por la noche, volvería otra vez.

My partner and I dined here on 23rd Sep and thought the food was fantastic. We had the Laksa Seafood and Chicken Sizzling for mains and the Coconut Crepe and Rambutan with Pineapple for dessert.

Came with some friends for their birthday, and cannot fault a thing. The starters were well presented and tasted great, and the mains were excellent. I would recommend green chicken curry. I asked the staff to make it spicer, and they added the perfect amount of spice! Also had a few takeaways and it’s equally as good. If you want Thai food, this is the place to go.

We visit Siam Smile on a saturday evening. It was full and had a lively atmosphere. When visiting a new thai restaurant I tend to stick to the staples...som tam and then red curry. So was very surprised not to see som tam on the menu. However the alternate salad was delicious with plenty of spice and flavour. The red curry was also delicious. The service was extremely good and attentive. A little off the beaten track for a visitor to Cheltenham, but well worth the walk.

Went on a Saturday evening, having booked a table in advance. We had a lovely meal, a sharing platter of starters and Thai curries for mains. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the only slight criticism I have is that it was a very warm and humid evening and although there is an air conditioning unit in the restaurant, it wasn’t on whilst we were there. Other than that, a really good experience and we would recommend and return.

If you judge a place by the cleanliness of their loos then this is it. Gleaming! A friends Sunday evening birthday party was brilliantly catered for. Great selection of starters including lovely, tender ribs. Main courses included a fabulous sweet and sour and tasty stir fried prawns all served with perfect rice. I have not been here for sometime but standards remain as high as ever - the original and definitely the best Thai in Cheltenham. Thank you

My best friend's 60th birthday was spent here with his family!! It was great!! We had a selection of starters and they were devoured. Just great!! The main courses varied from the hot sea bass to the lemon steamed sea bass, curries and beef. No matter what was brought, we all shared and loved every single dish. The staff are great and very welcoming. We loved every second!! We will be back soon.

Often come here for a takeaway so cannot speak for a sit down but food is always very good. Nicely spiced and slick and quick service with freshly cooked food.

It’s a few years since we ate here so we decided to try it again after spending the late afternoon at the DEYA taproom. I had forgotten that they serve such tasty fresh food, with a wide menu and lots of options for us non-meat eaters. This place is certainly as good as any Thai restaurant in Cheltenham.

Took our three year old along for good first Thai meal. We were the only people in the restaurant as it had just opened at 6pm. Which is what we wanted. We were made welcome, no eyebrows were raised when our little horror explored his surroundings and asked the staff questions that 3 year olds do.

Very nice restaurant, good food,and our waitress was superb. But unfortunately all ruined by the owner behavior towards to us. I felt like I was in "Good immigrant" edited by Nikesh Shukla. we had the corner look, we saw whispering while looking at us and she totally snubbed us. unfortunately many people fail to dissociate your color of your personality, and this woman should have respected my money because it has no color. Dark skin people think twice before choosing this restaurant.

Thai cuisine is my absolute favourite. I have eaten at many different restaurants through out Thailand and around the world.

We sat upstairs, which was much quieter and cooler than downstairs. We kept it simple and ordered a bottle of house white with some prawn crackers to start. We went for the £28 per head set meal. Delicious. A great selection of starters, a delicious coconut soup and the a quartet of dishes as the main. Excellent food, great service and all rounded off with quite a nice cup of coffee.

I went with a friend. We had prawn crackers,thai red curry and rice, singapore noodles, two puddings, two coffees and two glasses of wine for £40. Excellent food. Good service. Recommended.
