Shunarga in Wychavon

Meal wasn’t hot, the ‘lamb’ rogan had 4 tiny bits if meat and missing the onion bhajee no answer when tying to phone All in all a very disappointing meal for a lot of money

Usually have a reasonably good takeaway from here but yesterday it was so poor that we won’t risk it again. My curry had very little chicken in it, more like shredded bits from a carcass than a bhuna. Rice was crunchy. Naan so thick it was more like a pitta bread. Other diner had curry that was ok but no what he ordered. £35 wasted. Oh and I was on the toilet all night and all of today.

I ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night, I should of gone with me gut feeling as it was a Saturday night and no one in the restaurant which seemed strange . The food was just OK but with very little chicken, infact we all had never seen such minimal portions of meat . I'm only visiting the area but the most annoying thing about the whole experience of ordering a takeaway was that they overcharged me by £8.20 . My bill was £45.60 and should of been £37.00. I've only just noticed on previous reviews that people have been overcharged before . Very disappointing and left a bad taste on all levels!

This has to be the most amazing special balti, starter, nans and chips I’ve ever had. I lived in Birmingham half my life but I have to say this topped anything I have had in years. Absolutely delicious food this is definitely a taste of pure perfection. Well done chef absolutely amazing food.

My first visit here for a takeaway tonight, the onion bhajee was mushy and soaked i oil, the naan was hard and chewy the sagwala was tasteless and the tawa lacked salt and the spice was raw. Would certainly not recommend.

I am totally disgusted how the food came we got charged £80 for 3 curry 2 rice and 2 onion baji sorry I forgot about chips and 2 Nan it was disgusting slops i phoned them and they told me that there masala was not like Tesco I have had curry friend mam lot places ladypool road Birmingham beat this was rubbish I at to get daughter take it back and he made me take all of of tonprove what I eaten would not go there if it was last place on earth

The food was just terrible came cold and all wrong I was very disappointed the staff was so rude to me as I am a women of 67. The delivery guy charged me a extra £20 at drop of to the local village I feel very intimidated by the driver

Really was the worst curry, starter of mixed kebab.,,. Hardly any meat and as dry as anything. Curry was mostly onions and tasted awful.

Still waiting for food to be delivered over an hour since the estimated delivery time. Calls to the restaurant to get an update don’t seem to mean anything because the delivery still hasn’t turned up. The restaurant is 15 minutes drive down the road from my house & we’re not hard to find. Really disappointed with the service, feels like the restaurant just say whatever I want to hear to get me off the phone. It’s usually good food but the delivery is rubbish!!!

The chicken tikka had an overpowering mutton taste to it. Couldn’t get past 2 spoonfulls. Best part was the keema Naan and it was lacking Keema

Initial impression is a very run down restaurant. Very poor selection of non alcoholic drinks. Almost paid for drinks and left. However the food was excellent and we would return so we are glad we stayed. Five stars for food. Revisited later in the week. Restaurant empty. Food still excellent.

Place needs updating meal was nice

Very poor quality curry, bland, tasteless and a very dubious pricing policy that seemed disconnected from the menu prices listed - in short, I suspect we were royally ripped off. Avoid at all costs.

Over an hour late, still no sign of it, restaurant useless. I will never use this very poor service again, pre ordered at 17:30 waited till 19:25 as told. Now 21:00 and no food. The worst ever service I have ever put up with.

The food was good but they put up the prices on the final bill that was different to the menu prices We asked for the 10.95 menú for popadoms any starter and any main and any rice or Nan bread They said it not available even though it was on the menu and takeaway menu. As we walked in it said on a board 30% off food today but again that wasn't available he did give us a small discount as we complained about putting the prices up but were different on the menu. Shame really food was good and it could do with a complete refurb but the actitude of the owner was scandolous. Never go back again.

This was our very first visit to this restaurant it badly needs a complete refurbishment as the chair and decor are extremely worn. They are displaying offers on the main menú and takeaway menú for £10.95 each for a 3 course menu when asked about this they said it is not available. But he said he would give us a 20 % discount which was advertised on a board as we walked in. We ordered from the main menú starters and main course and the food was very good except for the Garlic and coriander nan which they said was cooked in a tandoori oven but we could tell and taste that it really wasn't. But when the bill came to our table every item was more expensive than the menú prices and the waiter said the prices had increased after a short discussion he went to discuss it with the owner and he agreed to reduce the bill to the menú price without the 20% discount as advertised and promise. We were very disappointed to end up arguing about the bill at the end of a meal. We could see why we were the only people in the restaurant and definitely will not be returning.

Food was good, delivered hot but the delivery was 45 minutes later than the end of the delivery window and the restaurant didn’t send any updates even after they were requested.

I’m originally a Pershore girl and have fond memories of Shunarga over the years. I live overseas nowadays, but on a recent trip back I called in. It was after pub closing on a Saturday night and the place was empty, much like the rest of Pershore, not like it was a few years ago, which is a huge shame. Simon and Abad (apologies if that’s incorrect) were incredibly accommodating and welcoming, especially considering I was on my own! They could very easily have said they’d finished for the evening. The decor is modern and comfortable, and there’s an extensive menu to choose from. When my food arrived it was piping hot, and the portions were large and of excellent quality. You just can’t beat a British curry! I didn’t think I’d be able to eat everything, but it was so moreish, I ended up cleaning every bowl! If you haven’t called in to Shunarga for a while I’d highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered at 18:30. It's now 21:30 and no food. App says delivered. Every time I order from.these guys it's at least 2 hours. This is a new low. I'm done with this restaurant.

Cold food, miserable staff will not be going back over priced drinks ...I asked for a Pepsi max and got one poured from a large bottle and charged nearly £3.00 for it !!!!! It would have been cheaper to go to asda and buy my own big bottle my friend had a white wine which was served in a champagne small flute she was charged nearly£5.00 ....toilet locked when we arrived....ladies toilet area dirty and no toilet paper!!!!!☹☹☹😡😡😡😡 I also experienced an upset stomach only given a 1 star because I couldn't give no stars

Very disappointing. This restaurant used to be good. Chapati and drink were missing. Driver promised half an hour to return with drink, one hour later still no drink. Tikka portion was almost comically tiny in comparison to other local restaurants and extra salty. All food quite cold on delivery but the chips and bombay aloo were basically stone cold. Naan bread was rock hard. We've ordered from here before and it was good, but this is a significant downhill drop in quality. I will not be ordering from here again and instead will use one of the other restaurants in town who also deliver.

Not cheap for a takeaway. Large naan not much bigger than a small but twice the price. Vindaloo was like a very mild madras. It did taste good but portions were small. Disappointing. Won't be using here again.

Called restaurant to check why not arrived as per the estimated delivery time. They said he just left, meaning it hadn’t even left the restaurant 10 mins after the app was saying it would be delivered. Restaurant should be able to manage expectations better!

Food was well cooked and ok. Dips were poor. I could not collect myself as I was isolating, so opted for a delivery. The flier says that they deliver for meals over £30, which I mistakenly took for free delivery (I am very local). Instead I ended up paying an extra £3 when the meal was delivered. An expensive meal for what it was! Won’t get food from there again.

Probably the worst Indian I have ever had, was visiting pershore and decided we would have a Indian to take away got back to our accommodation and it was bland, no flavour and not very well cooked! The korma was gunky and bitty instead of creamy like korma Is meant to be, the lamb chop starter was Just disgusting and what was meant to be mint riata ended up being a pot of yogurt! I’m sorry but you need to sort your chef out, I suggest firing them or getting them cooking lessons

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! Was meant to be delivered at 7:25 I had to call them 20:38 to ask where it was to be told there very busy and will be another half hour at least no sorry nothing and I’m still waiting now and it’s gone 21:00 . Will never order from there again

Service was fantastic, polite, efficient and professional. Food was satisfactory, as my expectations were of a more creamy consistency, not a chutney appearance and texture. Rice was lovely, light and fluffy. Naan bread was lovely and golden on one side but under done and doughy on the other. I did used to just give max ratings for everything, but what would the point of that be? Like calling a spade a fork. 😃 Anyway, thank you. 😊

Our last 3 orders have all been at least 30 minutes late

I couldn’t be bothered to cook as I’m knackered and got a 24 hour shift from 8am tomorrow and wanted an early night. Food wasn’t delivered on delivery time stated, phoned restaurant and still later than the time stated. Food not hot, only just eadible. Will definitely not use again. I’ve had food from here before and it was excellent, but it’s poor, tiny salad pots and chicken in main meal is shredded. Good bye 😡😡😡

After 15 years supporting this local rests taunt and takeaway We’ve had enough. The last one was an hour late and when it came the jalfrezi took my head off and we had to phone and chase up two missing mains. Then tonight it was half hour late. Practically no dips with the starter and the madras tasted like batchelors cuppa soup. Three meals ago it was nearly two hours late due to a supposed payment error. I know times are tough and really want to support local food but this is complete Lack of care for the customers. Unfortunately looks like other place in future

The deliver got changed to delivered when we hadn't received it. We ordered food at 7 and received it after 9. We rang the restraint several times as we were worried someone else had our delivery but they didn't answer the phone. Food was nice but I wish they had answered the phone to assure us and not say delivered before it's delivered.

The food is great, always hot when it arrives and very good portion sizes, not only that the customer service is brilliant. They are so polite on the phone and happy to take the order and the delivery guy when he arrives is lovely always wishing us a good night and to enjoy our meal. There is really nothing bad to say, the food, staff and cost is great, our meal tonight was fab :)

I made an order at 5PM understanding that delivery starts from 6:45, I had gotten confirmation for 7:15 however nothing right up until 9:30!! They had marked the order as delivered, shut down on the just eat app and I ended going out at about 9 to get different food elsewhere. I will definitely be asking for a refund as it was so very late, food was bland tasting and when calling up I got fobbed of saying it will be "twenty minutes".

Over two hours late. It was New Year’s Eve but over two hours seems extreme. Food was delicious though and almost made up for the lateness.

Delivery was bang on time and the food was delicious!

Even though we are buying take-aways, there is no question that the off-menu item of Chicken Tikka Dhansak is worth travelling for. I am never disappointed with this dish. It is our family favourite. If you live a distance away, don't forget an insultated bag.

Having eaten at Shunarga for many years, I am still impressed. Twice of late I have eaten there, and the meal was, as always, excellent. I tend to eat early, and alone, really before they are ready. No problem, the service was very good and attentive. A wonderful place.

Order confirmed at 18.06, order confirmed and estimated delivery at 19.15pm... 19.40 and still no food, requested an update via just eat, no update. 19.55 I call direct, man does not apologise for the delay just says driver is on his way and should be soon. 2015 Driver arrives says sorry for the wait. First time ordering. Communication leaves a lot to be desired. Was hoping would be impressed with the food, bland, no spice or even mild heat. Bought myself a treat to celebrate a win and now regretting. Won’t bother again. As a fellow small business owner it was very disappointing to not have the communication, I can deal with a bland curry, I can’t seem to find a decent one locally but the delay without communication certainly was a big disappointment.

Amazing food fast delivery great service

Food was about 1:10 late and turned up cold. Rang restaurant to chase up the food and was spoken to very abruptly. Delivery driver turned up with no apology and food packaging was damaged meaning it was leaking in the bag. Good was overly oily and the keema naan had next to no meat in the naan. Overall very disappointed by a once great restaurant/take away. Strongly recommend to go elsewhere and I will never use Shunarga again. Feel obliged to ask for some sort of refund due to service and food being way below expectations.

First class food and first class delivery service from Pershore's premier Indian Restaurant.

Very little chicken in chicken shashlik compared to where we usually go. Green salad was slightly wilted.

Ordered a takeaway which was spot on. Never been before and had heard mixed reviews but you need to see for yourself. Food was hot when I got it home and absolutely beautiful. My go to takeaway restaurant now.

Food was good and always want to support local restaurants but £70 plus for a main course and two drinks was not really reasonable for a Thursday night Shame as it’s one of my favourite places In Pershore to eat Will go back but perhaps not for a while There was no one else in the place...

Worst restaurant I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating in, If you’re a gambler then eating here might give you a rush, the odds are certainly higher ,it’s probably 50/50 chance of the food giving you food poisoning. Had a chicken korma and it was like baby food, cold,bland,mushy and just disgusting Avoid like the plague

Got a takeaway for 6 tonight. It was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Meet and greet from owner/ manager great. Food was excellent and ample sufficiency! Will definitely be doing this again!

The food was incredibly oily and had leaked. All containers were oily. Not nice. Biryani was very dry. Pasanda was disappointing not much lamb and was very tasteless and a little watery. I ordered keema lamb Jalfrezi but got chunks of lamb. Sorry Shunarga. You need to up your game to compete.

I was so excited to see that they did the Tawa. Beautiful curry, veg rice and garlic naan. Lived in pershore all my life and never ever been to Shunarga, but now will be going back again. Friendly staff and order was ready as I went in. Thank you!
