Shoryu in City of London, Westminster

PopPopped in on off chance before Matinee performance of Moulin Rouge at nearby Piccadilly Theatre. Between us had chicken cats curry, white natural which is tofu based ramen, gyokuru and yuzu tea. All excellent, and when we mentioned the theatre, were given a 20% discount. Prices are extremely reasonable for the West End anyway, given restaurant situated a stones throw from tourist magnet of Piccadilly Circus. Nearby Queens Head pub is a true treehouse, selling excellent real ales amongst other things. Will visit pub and restaurant again when in area.

Ottimo Ramen, in più versioni (anche vegane) e curry. Buone anche le bibite giapponesi, umeshu e birra Non é la prima volta che veniamo. Questa volta in sala c'era un po' di cattivo odore, forse per i lavori appena davanti sulla strada.

Fantastic ramen, professional friendly service, pleasant buzzy atmosphere, and reasonable prices. The seasonal Shoryu Mazemen ramen are excellent, and all the chicken options are great. This is one of my favourite places for good quality food in Central London.

They didn’t give us the happy hour discount on the white natural even though we ordered the food after 3pm and before 6pm. So rude these staff was.. my family and I were astonished.. It was our first visit at this shoryu branch.. we had gone to the Covent garden one and that was much better. Honestly I say don’t visit this shoryu branch

Shoryu is a great spot for both relaxing and quiet meal or if you just want a quick meal during the day. They have plenty of variety of ramen for all and the staff are attentive.

The ramen options were good. This was tasty and I opted for the Piri Piri paste and extra Pork Belly. With a tea SBS Diet Coke came to £47. Tasty but pricey

Arrived asking for a table for one around 7PM, advised a short wait which it was. Placed my order shortly after being seated. People who arrived and ordered 15 minutes after myself were receiving their food. Asked when mine might be coming, and there was some confusion asking if I'd ordered online. Around ten minutes later I was advised they'd chased with the kitchen. Sometime later my Bao Bun arrived, which was okay but hard on the bottom. Shortly followed by the chicken katsu that just wasn't great at all. On receiving my curry, I asked if I'd be getting my drink anytime soon. Ten minutes later, I was asked what I'd ordered. Yes, I think they lost my order which would have been much better if they'd just said. About 5 minutes later, my drink arrived, at which point I'd pretty much finished my food. They apologised for the wait when giving me the bill but that was only a small part of the issue. Felt like I had to self mange my own order which took any enjoyment out of the meal. No one ever questioned why I was sat there with no food or drink or after establishing my food not thinking to check if I'd ordered a drink. Not unusual to be completely neglected when you're eating solo but didn't expect it from such an established chain. I've been to the Manchester branch a number of times with no issues.

Easy to order using the QR code on the outside tables. The starter of gyoza were delicious, however the Bao bun was a major let down. Don’t order or if you do, check that the bun is soft and fluffy as mine was rock solid. I informed the waiter, however he didn’t seemed bothered. I eat Asian food at least three times a week and found this was just average.

Terrific meals, marvelous service, very reasonable prices - real value for money. Great location near Regent Street.

Lovely and welcoming experience at Shoryu. Very friendly and polite waiting staff who were only too happy to help and offer advice. I had the speciality ramen and my partner seafood ramen with a side of the octopus balls. All delicious. Ended the meal with a warming sake to share, just what we needed to prepare us for going back out into the cold soho streets. Will definitely come again!

Out for a show wanted genuine oriental meal. I was surprised, the food was great, the service was great, the quality was great. Value was superb. Would recommend this to everyone.

I have been trying to get into ramen for a while and was recommended Shoyru by a friend who is a big ramen fan and I was not disappointed. There are a number of options for those not loving ramen (e.g. katsu curry, ramens without a lot of broth) but is also great for those who like ramen. Staff were very attentive as we were in a rush before the theatre.

Visited for lunch during a trip to London and was not disappointed. My partner had the chicken karaage which was amazing and a really large portion size for the price. He had the original ramen and I had the Dracula ramen, both of which were amazing and unique in taste (unlike some places where it all just tastes the same with different toppings). Really filling, and service was fast considering all of the tables were filled. The tables are close together but it definitely helps with the atmosphere and you don’t find yourself being able to hear the people next to you. Definitely recommend and we hope to visit again if we go to London in the future. Thank you!

Really good ramen place. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. They have really quick service. This is partly due to they’re small menu but with enough choices for everyone. It has a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Great for groups or solo.

The ramen was tasty with a nicely flavoured broth, I thought the pork was cut too thick which detracted from the taste. The eggs however were perfectly cooked, not too raw, not overdone.

I've never been there before, but my boyfriend highly recommend it so I had met my girls for dinner there. The food was wonderful with good taste. And the people in the restaurant were nice and hospitality, especially the manager Francesco.

Made a trip here with friends after a long day walking around London. We hadn't booked but they managed to seat us quickly. The food as always was wonderful the signature ramen is so tasty with great broth and we had delicious dumplings and karaage. Always worth going to a Shoryu if in London ❤️

I went today to eat, and it was an enjoyable experience. Food was amazing and the staff as well. Especially, Francesco who had helped us a lot as well as giving us a excellent customer service. Because I enjoyed the dinner, I’ll come back tomorrow again!

I’ve never been there before, but good reviews helped me choose it. The manager Francesco was very nice and friendly and he gave me good tips to enjoy my time. The restaurant was nice and I had a lot of fun especially when people played a drum. It was so funny! I hope to come back again!

Waitress was extremely rude as I had never been to this restaurant before. Treated us like 4 year olds and extremely patronising. Sadly we paid the service fee as I wouldn't have left a tip in this place.

Nos encantan los japoneses, y este no defrauda. Probamos muchas cosas ricas, pero lo más destacable fue el Ramen Shoryo (el más popular), el arroz con pato, o una especie de croquetas de pulpo. Muy recomendable.

I went to this place craving a good comforting bowl of ramen. I made the right choice. I also got the Bao and the gyoza. All great. I had the richer pork broth. My friend has the seafood one. Both amazing. The staff is nice and welcoming. I recommend it!

We stayed in London for a few days and decided to have a dinner at Shoryu after some good feedbacks from the reviews. I Everything was perfect: we were greeted and served by the manager, Victor who was so kind to us. He made some great recommendations to my husband as he is vegan. The service was impeccable, everyone was attentive and made us feel welcomed. The food was amazing and the portions were generous. It was our last night in London and we couldn’t be happier we spent it here. We will definitely coming back. Thanks for everything.

Assolutamente da evitare. Cibo pessimo. Non hanno idea ne del rame ne del sushi. Il tutto a prezzi alti. Sconsigliatissimo.

Went at a time the place was quite empty, still left standing for some time while ignored by the staff. After getting some attention we were taken to a common table with stools, while almost all proper tables were empty. When asked to get one of the empty tables we were denied due to reservations two hours after - and the strict policies of the place. This restaurant was busting with people last year - seems to be under new management or something - AVOID.

Manager looked uninterested in business. We stopped by around 6pm for early dinner. A few tables were empty because reserved, but the manager would still not allow us to wait (there was no one else in line).

A friend recommended this place but I do not know why. The food is bland with that off taste that usually associated with a lack of good quality, fresh ingredients.

I have been a customer of Shoryu Ramen for some time now and I must admit their product is very similar to what you would get in Japan.

This Friday I have been to Shoryu for dinner with a friend. It wasn’t the first time for the two of us but the customer service at the restaurant in Soho was amazing.

Delish, another one of my favourite after work places. Ramen is wholesome, toppings abundant and reasonably priced at 11-15 a bowl. My only complain is that £8 for Karaages is a rip off

Attitude staffs, waited 35mins for bowls of noodles, not too friendly place , no good hospitality at all. Noodles is ok.

This restaurant is very close to the Piccadilly Theatre. We had limited time so opted for the house special ramen noodles with pork and egg. Delicious, warming and satisfying. Excellent service.

My friend and I had a lovely dinner at Shoryu Soho! A lovely atmosphere and prompt service. I had the most delicious chicken katsu curry I've had in a while and my friend's vegetarian version was equally tasty. Pretty good pisco sour too! Francesco, our server and I believe the Assistant Manager, was brilliant and we really appreciated the sake he offered us at the end.

We are regular customers and today we went to the soho one and we found an amazing customer service and amazing food as usual! The manager Francesco was very friendly and professional, for the very first time I had someone explaining me the difference between the different types of ramen! We've much appreciate it! Also in the restaurant was a nice atmosphere I will recommend it to everyone and this one has definitely become our favourite shoryu restaurant!

Soy una gran aficionada al ramen y siempre estoy buscando sitios nuevos donde comerme un buen bol de fideos calentitos. Pero ninguno es como el ramen de shoryu. Cada cucharada era del más absoluto placer y me hacía de sentir en el cielo.

OK ramen and tonkotsu. Not as flavourful, deep, rich or creamy as it should be really. Not hot enough. Service disjointed and stuff arriving well out of order. Won't go back.

I've been here a couple of times, I've always had a great meal and I've been well served. the ramen, like the appetizers, have been very delicious. the service was very good, in particular Francesco, who is able to give excellent advice and is very kind. Super recommended.

my impression of the restaurant was not very good. I heard a lot of reviews about this restaurant and waited when I finally fly to London and can visit this restaurant. and finally, me and my boyfriend came to this restaurant, our waiter brought a menu for us, and the most interesting thing started, the waiter was called Claudia, I understand my boyfriend is very handsome but she crossed the line with being friendly and nice, she began to explain what she likes the most in menu to my boyfriend, she stuck boyfriend’s shoulder and tried to get eye contact with him all the time ,she didn’t pay attention on me at all, she didn’t explain menu for both of us, when I asked what you had without nuts, because I’m allergic, her next step was to bring me a book where all ingredients of all dishes are wrote and said read and choose what you like . and continued to stuck to my boyfriend, its made me angry, I’m not a conflict person, but I was not pleased, my boyfriend just said that we were leaving this place and we were gone.

Well, if I have to say something about this place is that is looking really cool and comfortable like the the staff that helped me and my friend to choose the proper main, Francesco was really dedicate to understand what was the best choice for me and he helped me a lot even if was a busy moment, also Claudia that was always smiling and asking if everything was good or if there was any problem with the service. Even if the price are a bit higher than other place the balance between service/food and price is equal couse I never saw in a Japanese restaurant a service so kind! Good job to both of them, hope to see them next time!

This is a very authentic flavour of ramen big steaming bowls of soup with a choose of pork, beef or chicken plus vegetarian service is quick and efficient. We arrived after 6 but by 7:30 it was very busy and customer we're waiting in line. We have only a bowl each and prove to be a lot! They have a selection of alcoholic drinks, teas and juice. Certainly will go again.

En week-end à Londres avec une amie qui avait envi de manger asiatique, nous avons décidé d’aller dîner dans ce restaurant qui avait de très bonnes critiques sur internet. Nous voulions réserver à l’avance sur Internet mais nous n’y sommes pas parvenues. Cependant cela n’était finalement pas nécessaire car il y a certes un peu d’attente mais les places se libèrent rapidement. Le seul petit regret est que le menu soit un peu complexe à comprendre notamment pour la composition des plats. Mais finalement on se lance parfois un peu au hasard et c’est au bout du compte excellent, très goûteux et nourrissant (je n’ai personnellement pas fini mon bol). Même si le lieu est un peu bruyant, nous y avons passé une très bonne soirée, avec des prix raisonnables et autour d’un bon verre de vin blanc. Et si vous n’avez pas de table dans ce restaurant de picadilly, pas de panique c’est une chaîne et il y en a plusieurs dans Londres.

Shoryu is located very close to Piccadilly Circus on the edge of Soho in central London. At first glance, It appears to be a tiny restaurant but with a surprising amount of space leading off from the entrance.

I'm a fan of Japanese food, so I decided to go to Shoryu ramen after a friend recommended it to me.

I had my favorite ramen in London. Francesco, the waiter, is a very good person end suggest to me the best dinner I ever had. I garante tu you if you ask for Francesco you'll have the best service

This is a part of a chain of Japanese ramen restaurants. We've been to a couple of them before and never been disappointed. What made it for me this time was the pork belly - absolutely beautifully prepared with literally a 'melt in the mouth quality. Highly recommended

Credevo di dover aspettare di andare in Giappone per poter assaggiare la vera cucina nipponica,ma per fortuna e quasi per caso abbiamo trovato questo ristorante a Soho. Siamo stati qui 2 volte durante la settimana di vacanza a Londra. Il locale è molto curato e pulito con accenni di arredamento caratteristico. Il servizio è rapido,preciso e molto gentile. Il titolare Francesco è una persona davvero squisita e molto disponibile. Ci ha indicato il Japan Center lì a due passi che merita una visita ;-) Ma passiamo al cibo,che è quello che più conta in un ristorante. Abbiamo preso come antipasto il Salmon Sashimi £ 11.20 (altro che quello che ti danno i cinesi a Milano!), 2 porzioni dei famosi Takoyaki £ 15.80 (che non vedevo l'ora di assaggiare perché li vedo sempre negli anime giapponesi) davvero fantastici gnam gnam che boniiiiiii! Poi come piatti principali due Ramen, il Miso Wafu Chicken £ 13.50 (con pollo per chi non "mastica" l'inglese haha :-) e il Kimchi Seafood Tonkotsu £15.00 (con misto pesce) davvero buoni entrambi (anche se quello di pesce secondo me ha una marcia in più) e una bottiglia grande di acqua naturale £4.50 + £ 7.50 di service charge + £1 di offerta per i bambini,per un totale di £ 68.50. Non è sicuramente economico ma vale la spesa. Unica pecca pensavo di poter assaggiare anche l'Okonomiyaki, invece non lo fanno, spero che lo metteranno nel menù! Di sicuro ci tornerò nella mia prossima vacanza nella capitale londinese per gustare nuovi piatti. xoxo

Went with a friend for a late lunch and sat in the courtyard, despite the waiting staff been none existent several times, we had to get their attention, the food was as good as ever, however they to review their cheesecake, not very good.

I took my father to your restaurant for dinner at 7pm yesterday (Thursday). I ordered the Kimichi seafood tonkotsu, whilst my father ordered the Shoryu Ganso tonkotsu. My father is fine, however I am suffering from severe food poisoning after dining at your restaurant. I am suffering from fevers, chills, headaches, my whole body aches. This is the worst poisoning I have had in over 10 years. I can also confirm that the poisoning definitely came from your seafood tonkotsu as it was the only meal I ate yesterday...

I have been to Shoryu at Soho last night with a couple of friends, the place is really welcoming and I find really funny the way they play the drump everytime a customer get in to the restaurant.

Came here with my family a few days ago. We all had various different ramen dishes, all recommended by Carolina who was very kind and helpful! Definitely coming back soon

Fui por primera vez a Shoryu Soho la semana pasada. Al principio, me preguntaba si era el lugar correcto para ir a comer porque tengo algunas alergias. Pero mi primera experiencia en este lugar fue excelente. El gerente Francesco fue muy servicial y me ayudó a elegir los platos correctos y mis amigos realmente disfrutaron la cena. Comida fresca y excelentes cócteles. Realmente recomiendo este restaurante. ¡Volveré seguro muy pronto!
