Shoryu in City of London, Westminster

Delicious ramen as usual at Shoryu. Gyoza are some of the best around. And the service from Jyoti was very considerate, thank you!

Have eaten at this location about 5-6 times since 2018 and will continue to do so when in the area! Fabulous little restaurant, located in a busy part of London but has always had a lovely and calm atmosphere when inside (outside seating also available). Have only ever had ramen here but last week I bought a friend who got the chicken katsu curry and loved it! Can’t speak to the authenticity of the food but over the years the friends and family I have bought here have always enjoyed their meals. A meal will set you back between 13-18 pounds on average, which is comparable to other chain restaurants but the quality you get is reflected in their price. From memory the price hasn’t seem to increase or atleast not much in last 7 years. Only negative is I feel like there is less meat in the ramens now on average :( Toilet ok and clean enough but nothing to write home about. Very cheeky to automatically add a 12.5% service charge when ordering through the QR code before you’ve even experienced the service. However we ordered through a staff member and when the bill came we asked I believe it was Maneesha to take off the discretionary charge who did this promptly and with no problem and bought us the updated bill. Highly recommend, don’t be shy to ask for the service charge to be taken off, this is at your discretion at the end of the day and I don’t know why UK restaurants are adapting a US tip based approach. Love the bag hook detail under the tables!! Very handy and thoughtful

I'm a frequent eater at Shoryu and I love how it's always a safe choice - they are open late even on Sundays and you are guaranteed a good meal! The staff here is fantastic, especially Stella and Daria. They always remember to check for allergies and help me choose what to try. My favorite on the menu is the Dracula tonkotsu, but be ready to smell like garlic for the next two days 🧄. If you want a more mild option, their classic tonkotsu ramen will fit the bill! The gyoza and karaage are a 10/10 starter, probably the best karaage in London! I also recommend the baos, particularly the pumpkin croquette one!

We were waiting at the entrance of the store for their manager to come. The manager asked us to wait outside, even though there were plenty of empty seats inside. We followed the manager’s instructions and waited outside, but both the manager and the staff completely ignored us. We stood at the entrance for a long time, yet no one guided us to a seat. Instead, the manager and staff kept cleaning other dirty tables while many empty tables were available. However, they did not offer us any of those seats. We felt disrespected and offended by their treatment.

I usually enjoy ramen in Japan and Korea, but unfortunately, I would not return to this restaurant, nor would I recommend it to others. The texture of the noodles was very disappointing. A significant portion of them were clumped together, making them difficult to eat. What was even more surprising was that my friend who ordered a different menu, experienced the exactly same issue with their noodle.

Been coming here for years and it is sad to see the staff’s customer service is a real let down now. Requested warm sake, been served it cold one, had to wait 10mns and remind two members of staff (the first waiter admitted to have forgotten) for some sugar for my tea, never got the water we requested, waiting nearly 15mns to get the bill (it was not even busy at that time anymore), they are being very weird about giving loyalty cards and the states of the toilets🤢 Really not deserving the 12.5% service charge. I might give it one more change in the future because the food is decent and the staff used to be good but will defo no longer give tips until their customer service is back to regular standard.

Llevo años viniendo aquí y es triste ver que el servicio al cliente del personal es una verdadera decepción ahora. Solicité sake caliente, me lo sirvieron frío uno, tuve que esperar 10 mns y recordar a dos miembros del personal (el primer camarero admitió haber olvidado) un poco de azúcar para mi té, nunca consiguió el agua que solicitamos, esperando casi 15 mns para obtener la cuenta (ya ni siquiera estaba ocupado en ese momento) , están siendo muy raros sobre dar tarjetas de fidelidad y los estados de los baños🤢 Realmente no merecen los 12 . Cargo por servicio del 5 %. Podría darle un cambio más en el futuro porque la comida es decente y el personal solía ser bueno, pero defo ya no dará propinas hasta que su servicio al cliente vuelva a la norma regular.

Delicious Ramen place in a great location at Kingly Court. I highly recommend sitting outside to soak in the vibes of the courtyard, unmatched. The food here was delicious, had the spicy ramen (vegetarian option) and it was so so so good. Enjoyed every slurp. Recommended 👍🏼

Out of the 3 soups we ordered all of the broths were extremely lacking in flavor. They tasted very bland. The pork, egg, etc tasted fine. We all ordered within the same minute and all of the dishes came out staggered. Each time one person finished the next person’s soup would come afterwards. It’s very expensive for such poor quality.

The food was delicious and the employees were competent and friendly. Right at the beginning you are asked about allergies and pointed out what you can't tolerate.

Quiet and welcoming place, the queue was a little too long (half an hour but there were only about ten people in front of us), but when we entered and ordered the dish it arrived after less than 10 minutes! We ate two different types of ramen, both very good and with satisfying portions. Excellent experience

Had two bowls of Tonkotsu Ramen. Broth is not as rich or as seasoned as you would find in Japan, but, for what it was, it was okay. However, both me and my partner felt ill after eating. Not sure if the ingredients used were fresh.

Had supper here after a long day with friends and ended up at Shoryu because it had tables available. Was surprised how flavourful the broth was, and gyozas were well cooked!

Ordered a signature noodle and tako balls, but waited over 25 minutes still not come. The lady came after me and sit next to me had her noodle in 5 minutes after she arrived In the end I have to call the waiter, but after 5 minutes then orders still have not arrived. In the end, I have to walk out as my lunch break is finished. I ended up having to go back to work and no lunch because of your delay of service!

Ordered Origin Tonkotsu ramen on 26/11/24- and wasn't impressed about the broth at all, it tasted really watery and didn't have thr signatures Hsoryi Ramen taste like I usually have. Something definitely NOT RIGHT about this branch or the chef are not professional enough about making the ramen broth!

It is located in a very beautiful place and it is worth entering to discover and enjoy different cuisines. But at meal time there were some noodles that left a lot to be desired. Except for that the bao bread and the gyozas and the very good ramen.

Shoryu is a solid choice for a nice meal. The atmosphere is inviting, and the place is clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant spot to dine. The service is decent—they get the job done, though nothing that stands out as exceptional or above and beyond. Overall, a reliable and enjoyable dining experience, and I’d happily come back for another visit. A great spot for a casual meal!

Taste good and great value for money! I really enjoy the food and finished the whole dish. The only comment was that the tsukemono (Japanese pickle) was a bit salty which I expected it to be a bit sweet & sour to break the taste of the curry.

Nous avons prix le menu . Les ramen étaient excellents. On a adoré. L’entrée les buns s’est .à déguster. Seul bémol: je n’avait pas vu que la bière était sans alcool. On commande via l’application et le service est très rapide. C’est vraiment top. La cour intérieure est symptomatique. Idéale pour un repas à midi. Il faut malgré tout compter 20 pounds par personnes.

We took the menu. The ramen was excellent. We loved it. The starter buns are to be enjoyed. Only downside: I hadn't seen that the beer was alcohol-free. You order via the app and the service is very fast. It's really great. The interior courtyard is pleasant. Ideal for a midday meal. However, you have to count 20 pounds per person.

One of the best ramen ever! We discovered this address by chance, while wandering the streets of Carnaby. We saw a line in front of this restaurant, all these people who had to have lunch during their lunch break rushing to eat on this sunny terrace. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ramen curry and tonkatsu curry. A sure value!

Welcoming environment, fast service, good ramen with a lingering touch of ginger, I didn't like the ravioli, good bill of €30 for beer ramen and ravioli.

I haven't been back to this Shoryu in quite a few years, and the broth has really gone downhill. I remember, back in the day, the broth was so rich with collagen, and you could really taste the 14 hours spent simmering. But now, the broth is watery, with hardly any flavor except for saltiness. The ramen is still good, but their signature is the broth, so I’m very disappointed. The karaage chicken is nicely fried and crispy, but karaage isn't supposed to be crispy. The service is okay; I didn't have to wait long. It's more of a noodle bar than a restaurant, so nothing outstanding, but about what you'd expect.

After our disappointing visit to Shoryu, I am happy to share that the concerns were addressed promptly and thoroughly. The service was both quality and professional, attributes I highly value in any business. We look forward to returning and savoring their delicious ramen once more. A special thanks to Juan for his attentive care and service. I recently dined at Shoryu Restaurant and unfortunately had an extremely unpleasant experience. My party and I ordered chicken skewers and chicken starters and a variety of food, which unfortunately led to severe food poisoning. Despite reaching out to the restaurant through email and attempting to contact them directly, we received no response and no action was taken to address the issue. This lack of response and accountability is deeply concerning, especially considering the severity of the situation. As a result of this incident, our weekend plans were completely ruined, causing significant inconvenience and discomfort. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care and responsibility shown by Shoryu Restaurant in handling this matter. I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment until they take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their patrons

One of the best tonkatsu ramen I have tasted in London. The soup is delicious but not so salty. The pork belly is so soft and silky.

Beautiful place for an afternoon or evening chilled time. The service is spectacular, beautiful, kind and heartwarming service. You feel like you are as comfortable as you can be at home. I highly recommend it.

Way too long a wait after ordering the food (40 minutes). They can't change any items or customise any items in the menu, so it's exceptionally slow. The manager is clueless and not worth talking to.

Great ramen of Hakata style with pork chashu. The noodle is super tasty. The egg is classic. The ingredients were fresh and the soup was classic. They serve plenty of good value side dishes like chashu rice and chicken kara-age. They have kids menu with good value. They serve half egg with the kids ramen. Edamame dish and ice cream is included in the kids menu. Asahi super dry draught beer is available. The staffs are pretty friendly.

In a very busy tourist area but the energy is fun. Service was a bit unfriendly but prompt. I’d say the ramen was 3.5 stars, my Dracula ramen was pretty good but the broth could have had a bit more flavor and my egg was very over done. Almost a hard-boiled egg vs. the lovely jammy yolk that you expect with ramen. My BF ended up with dry-style ramen which was not super clear on the menu and his lacked flavor and his pork belly was over cooked and cold (mine was not over cooked but also cold). We ended up putting some of my broth in his bowl and adding chili oil and crushed sesame seeds to his to get any sort of flavor profile on it. The seaweed salad and potstickers were good. Felt a bit over priced. TBH I get better ramen in Seattle which feels surprising.

I’ve got food poisoning from the ramen!! Still haven’t recovered yet. When the waitress brought me the ramen, the egg and pork was completely cold, i didn’t think anything about it, so just ate it. But after few hours the nightmare had started. 24hours of constant vomiting and painful diarrhoea. I will never eat at this place again!!!

The brothless pork ramen was a real highlight and very good if you enjoy noodles without them being too watery The salad was a very pleasant surprise and is often difficult to find in Asian restaurants so thumbs up 👍

Got the dry noodles - no soup Decent

Overall good, but we waited too long for ramen (~40min) and the noodles were too soft even though we got the "more thick ones". The signature Ramen was less tasty than the Chicken one but that is just our opinion.

Wouldn't make accommodations so I could eat with my family. On vacation with family, first time in London. Frustrated after several restaurants in area which had nothing for me to eat due to my allergy, I tried to bring in outside food so I could sit with my family who ordered ramen. I even ordered a cocktail and was willing to pay extra. Manager would not accommodate. I get the rules, but there should be a way to help out people who are having difficulty finding something to eat. Stick me in the corner or something. Maybe offer a salad or something for people with allergies.

Hands down my favourite Ramen spot in London. The quality is consistent, and consistently high. A delicious, filling, enjoyable meal, it’s hard to find value for money these days in London, but here we are. Keep it up guys!

The ramen was very filling and the service was good. However, the bathroom was not very clean.

Soy parte de la hospitalidad y es bueno ser mimado a veces. Me gustó mucho el lugar y el ambiente. Pero como siempre digo, los empleados hacen la marca. Gracias a Stella y Emmanuel, que nos cuidaron. Pedí un curry de gambas y arroz con brócoli. El plato era arroz simple con salsa más 2 gambas fritas y un pequeño florete de brócoli = 14 libras. Plato escaso de comida increíblemente caro.

Always love Shoryu ramen, and took my young family out for a meal (I have a 1 year old and 3 year old). Emmanuel was the member of staff that served us, and I must say he was exceptional - really attentive and ensured my family we had everything we needed, taking the time to talk us through menu items to make sure what we were ordering was appropriate. He was also just a lovely chap to speak with my family. I must also say that the food was a bit better compared to other shoryu locations for me. And the location is perfect if the weather is good - was very pleasant sitting outside in Kingly Court.

Nice place! Good Food! Usually gets busy even in weekdays. We had reserved a table for 7.30 and there was small queue outside already. Staff is friendly, but fast paced. Food was good, also has spicy versions of ramen! Definitely a visit

The ramen was excellent, but the service and atmosphere were not as great. We didn't feel very welcomed, and our table was a bit tight and uncomfortable.

The ramen was good but it took a long time to be prepared hence 1 star less. I would come back anytime, we sat outside in the terrace and it was particularly pleasant on a good day. You can order and pay directly from your phone.

Katsu ramen is good. Didnt like the meat. Sake mix, Kikizake is good also.

I really used to love this place. Been quite a few times but last time was about a year ago and the Katsu ramen has changed where the amount of chicken has almost halved. I just had 4 slices in this portion (you can't even see the chicken in this picture) but before it used to be a lot more. I was a bit surprised I did ask the waitress about it but she seemed a bit clueless and unhelpful unfortunately. A bit of a pity really. I'll probably still come here but will reduce my visits to once in a blue moon and won't recommend to others as much any more.

Usually come here once was a month because the food is excellent. Last time they removed a vegan ramen (my favorite) from the menu, but the manager Stella kindly helped me find an alternative which was full excellent. She was very helpful and patient and helped both my mother and I find another dish. Highly recommended and thanks again Stella!

Any issues that there might be with slow service or long waits are quickly dismissed when the ramen finally arrives. Eaten at several of their locations and would happily again.

One of my favorite Ramen places in the Kingly Street food hub in Soho (Central London). Choice of Ramens , Sushi 🍣 , Katsu Curry 🍛 Rice besides Japanese Sake’s ,Umeshu & beers !! . Average Pricing for Ramen ranges £13~£15, Sake 100ml £10 , beers are £6 approx . Service is good , relaxed atmosphere ! . Love going back !

I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were sat instantly inside without reserving a table. I would recommend booking if you want to sit outside in the nice courtyard. The service was quick and the waiters were friendly. The octopus balls and gyoza were amazing. The downfall was that every time a new costumer came they would hit the bong which got really annoying for costumers already sat in the restaurant. Also, I got the curry and it says it comes with tender broccoli which from the picture and the name you would assume its tender stem broccoli but it was regular undercooked broccoli and only one piece which was ridiculous!

Ramen good quality, however service level not acceptable. Slow service, unresponsive waiter, forgotten food, mess with wrong food. You need to prepare for 1-1,5 hour for lunch.

This ramen is very delicious in the heart of London and the price is not crazy for where it is.

Fantastic place with great ramen, rich and flavorful broth. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I would really recommend tonkotsu ramen and for spice and seafood lovers kimchi seafood natural. It's a Japanese ramen place located inside Kingly Court. Book a day in advance at least if you want to get a table on your schedule. That goes for all of the restaurants in this 3-storey court. Ramen was good and the drinks were good as well. Service was good. Worth a visit.

Been here a few times now and it never fails to disappoint. The food is always exceptional and of a brilliant standard. The katsu curry is genuinely one of the best I have ever had and is very filling due to its large portion.

Used to be our favourite ramen place in town but got food poisoning in my last visit there 2 days ago. Ruined my Easter weekend and still not fully recovered at the time of writing.

The restaurant has a set menu of 1 Ramen, 2 coops of Ice cream and 1 cocktail priced at £24. This was exactly what I ordered but ended up spending £8 more. The waiter did not inform about the set menu and when we asked for a refund, the requested was rejected. And of course, we were still charged a service fee at 12.5%.

The restaurant environment is very good. The service is terrible. The noodle soup is not thick enough. The hardness of the noodles is not up to par. Overall, it's expensive and bad taste.

Nice little shop in the area with other restaurants. The signature ramen soup tasted a bit bland for me. Best find was the Wakame Seaweed and Green Leaf Salad….absolutely refreshing and simple.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating when I asked for dessert and candles for my friend’s birthday.

I've eaten at many restaurants but this particular Japanese restaurant made everything like a book. The dishes were amazing, the atmosphere was great and it's a place where I would go anytime. One of the best ramens in London, and personally one of the best vegetarian ramens outside of Asia. Shoryu never disappoints in any of their branches. This particular one can get extremely busy due to its location, if your looking for a quieter one there’s another shoryu right by Piccadilly circus that tends to have more space as the restaurant itself is larger. However it’s one of the only branch with outdoor seating, which is helpful for anyone with a dog since they are not dog friendly inside
