A coffee shop with 14th century origins - lovely coffee and cakes. Then a BONUS, we were treated to a tour of the Victorian theatre which is attached to the coffee shop building. This a gem of a building just waiting to be renovated. Jo, our guide, was excellent. Passionate about the building and the people who have passed through its doors, she gave us a fantastic tour. Many thanks and good luck with the project. We'll be back.

We parked as close to the centre of Boston as we could which just happened to be almost opposite Shodfriars Hall and noticed the Coffee Shop on the corner. It was a welcome sight after a long drive. The Coffee Shop is lovely with fine china and lots of home baked cakes, savouries, jacket potatoes, paninis & ice-creams. This building also the Information Centre, so you can check out all the local places of interest within the same building. This is one of Boston's Cultural Centre projects to restore the Hall to its former glory. We really enjoyed our visit to this welcoming and excellent Coffee Shop and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Boston.

Intriguing place a short walk from the market but worlds away in quality. Ordered coffee and cakes. Americano cups could have been the next size up, as in other cafes in town. The whole selection of cakes looked lovely, and the ones we had were very tasty, coffee was a fine blend of Stokes of Lincoln. The after thought of an ice-cream was the star of the show. Stop them and buy one!

Went along today for a tour of Shodfriars Hall, which was with Jo, a wonderfully enthusiastic tour guide! It was fabulous to hear about the history of the building and the plans for restoration. The whole building has tremendous atmosphere and your imagination can run riot with scenes from it’s past and also with the possibilities for the future. I really hope the funding for the restoration comes through and in the future locals and visitors to Boston can once again enjoy this wonderful building and fill it with laughter and music. After the tour the Coffee Shop provided another little gem with tasty fresh coffee and mouthwatering cakes. Anyone in the area should definitely pay a visit. Supporting the Coffee Shop will also support the whole project so don’t be shy!

We found this little cafe a few months ago, its great. This week we went on a free tour of Shodfriars Hall, above the cafe. It was a total surprise and one of the oldest buildings in Boston. Because of it's age it needs restoring and they have a plan in place, they just need our support. It's a great building, have a look for yourselves, and why not have a coffee or some lunch while your there. I'm sure you will be surprised if you haven't already found it. Really inspiring and friendly guide, relaxed atmosphere. Good prices, good food, good drinks and good service.

The coffee shop is great but upstairs is a wonder, the hall, a stage the balcony and so much history hidden away for too long. So much of Boston's history stored away for too long. We had a guided tour from Jo who is so enthusiastic its contagious.

Great coffee shop. The grand tour is well worth a visit, by the very informative and talented Jo. Holds a few surprises and certainly has a wow factor. Hope it gets all the help and funding it deserves. And help get Boston it’s historical recognition back. And a super coffee shop too. With lovely food, drinks and a friendly atmosphere.

This is good little stop off for breakfast, lunch or coffee. Coffee is good and I’m quite fussy. Service is friendly and efficient. They use good quality ingredients for dishes that are reasonably priced. Every day they have a different special “ what’s in the box?” I had a very tasty, home cooked, chicken hotpot. It was deliscous and understandably sold out while I was there. It’s well worth noting that this gem of a cafe is housed in one of Boston’s most historic buildings. If you have the time request a quick tour it’s a fascinating slice of Boston history.

Visited with some friends who were visiting from Surrey and enjoyed great coffee and a delicious piece of lemon drizzle cake. The little shortbread biscuits that came with the coffee were an absolute joy too! Will head back to book myself on a tour to learn more about this fascinating building.

The food here was amazing! The milkshake that my daughter had was perfect. It was made from her own choice of ice cream (of which there are many) and when it came was a very generous portion. The price was very reasonable. I will definitely visiting regularly with all my children for milkshakes like that! My lemon sponge and coffee were also well priced and tasted equally good, looking forward to trying some more treats next time.

Set in a beautiful iconic 14th century building, this coffee shop is part of a revival /refurbishment scheme, The service is very welcoming and child-friendly, with tables cleared and wiped quickly. The cappuccino is second to none, really strong and hot, and toasted teacakes are "proper" baker's ones (not the small, biscuity types you get elsewhere). The cakes are beautiful and they serve attractive snacks and meals at very reasonable prices. You can even book a tour of this fantastic, historical building. Don't bother with anywhere else!

Popped in for a coffee and light lunch. Great coffee, good panini, excellent ice cream, but the cakes looked very tempting too. Service very friendly, place clean. Money helps to go into restoring a fascinating building.

Visiting the area for the day, we located The Thatched Cottage via Tripadvisor. Booked a table for late lunch. Fortunately a pleasant day as having our furry friend with us we had to sit outside. Our lunch was as good as hoped for; a generous portion of roast lamb, served on a bed of lovely mash, accompanied by red cabbage, yorkshire pud, roasties and apricot stuffing. The sides of creamy blue cheese leeks and trio of carrots, french beans and swede were colourful and tasty. Our meal was served promptly and the half pints of Doom Bar washed our lunch down nicely. Friendly service A thoroughly enjoyable lunch, a good find which we would recommend We may not have booked had it been a cold wet day, delighted it wasn't. Note to TTCR, perhaps look at a doggy owner corner in your bar for diners over the winter months?
