Great place to eat, lovely friendly staff, food is top class.

This is my local Indian, been coming since I was a teenager. I couldn’t want for any place better. It is our go to for special occasions.

I just ordered from Uber Eats. The picture looked very attractive, but I did know the butter chicken was made with coconut and almond. It tasted very bad, and sweet. The garlic naan also looked very good but tested nothing. After 2 bits I knew I had to throw it out, £20 in the trash what a waste :(

We have been coming here for over a year and have never been disappointed with the top notch, attentive service from their waiter, hot plates and delicious dishes. We don’t come often but he remembers us and provides complimentary baileys! I can stress the quick and professional service. Always leaving, full, happy and with a takeaway box or two!

The Shish Mahal is a favourite of ours. The food is absolutely delicious 😋 (popadoms followed by Mixed Grill for hubby and Chicken Tikka Masala for me with rice and sag aloo, sometimes onion bhajis 😃), and you're always sure of a pleasant and warm welcome. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we're never rushed over our meal. The background music very pleasant too. Overall a lovely evening

Very poor service, waiter behave not good, but food is okay.A person who has no hair on his head (bald) has very little verbal communication. Need more training.....

We have been coming here for a long time. It had been a while since our last visit but we were welcomed like no time had passed. We were seated at a lovely table by the window. We have always loved the intimate atmosphere of this restaurant. The service was excellent as was the food. My husband had a sheek kebab starter and chicken tikka biryani. I had onion bhajis to start and a lamb passanda and Bombay aloo for main. The lamb was lovely and tender and the Bombay aloo was one of the best I have ever had. We shared some coconut ice cream for desert as that’s all either of us could fit in. My husband loves their calypso coffee and had one of these to finish. Would highly recommend and will be back again of course, Thankyou.

Food was bland, thin sauce and all curries tasted the same. No chutneys provided or onion salad. Disappointing, do not recommend plus order was incorrect. Booo

The food here is great. We had a balti and jalfrezi and a balti both of were very flavourful. The naan bread tasted fresh baked. The service was top notch. We will definitely be back.

Another amazing meal at shish mahal, always great food and service. The food is always so fresh and tasty. The only issue I do have is that the glasses of coke are served from a warm 2L bottle and are often flat. It would be better to have either individual cans or glass bottles.

Very good as always. We have been coming here for many years. The staff are so friendly. Try the tandoori king prawns. Delicious! The saag bhaji is always good.

Took our son for his first birthday, the food was great, and I am really picky with my curries. I had the Bombay badboy and it was fresh spicy and lamb fell apart. Highly recommend, and the waitress was great with our son and made it feel special

Went with a friend yesterday afternoon and was really impressed. Staff was very attentive and food was great. Portions very large and we are good eaters. This spot has been added to our list of places to go to.

totally pathetic service. Not recommended. They will not allow the coke from outside by saying that please buy coke from us worth 3£. Staff was also rude. Dont ever go to this place

We had a takeaway. Good and prompt service but the food was disappointing, sadly. It was the blandest Indian takeaway I've had in a long time, to the extent that it had me questioning whether I'd developed a cold that was impairing my taste buds!

So I got a leaflet yesterday with their menu, saw the Hygiene Rating 5 out of 5 and since I LOVE the Indian cuisine I gave it a try. I ordered 3 things, but even got something extra and price reduced, which was very kind. Delivery was way quicker than a usual delivery when ordering through Deliveroo,justeat etc. I simply called them, told them what I’d like and paid with cash when my food arrived. (Which took less than 20 mins). Food was DELICIOUS and there was a LOT of it. I definitely recommend this place, either to visit (even though I haven’t been there yet) or to just order from them, as the food is fantastic.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here on the evening of 3 May. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. We ordered some starters & main courses. Our orders arrived quickly & the food was so nice. We will definitely return. We recommend this for madras & vegetarian curries in particular. Lovely atmosphere in here too. Friendly staff. I love the dim lighting. Five out of five from us. We recommend it!!

Not sure if management has changed but previously very good- ordered takeaway at beginning of December with family- had to call after 90 mins as no food - then arrived after another 20 minutes - 2 meals were stone cold to touch? Very bad- tried again NYE to eat in - restaurant empty , very overpriced fixed menu that we were not told about when we booked and not great service . We left and sadly will not return of using for 20 years
