Had a wonderful visit this afternoon with my Mum. We went for the afternoon tea and we were not disappointed. For £12.50 each, we have two cakes, a scone each with all the trimmings, a selection of sandwiches and a pot of tea! Good value for money. The staff were polite and friendly. When visiting, make sure to pre-book your afternoon tea! Will be attending again. 100% recommend if you love your afternoon tea! There is also a lovely sitting area and garden outside for when the weather is a little bit warmer!

Visited with a church group, the servers were good humoured and, without being "pushy" entered into the comments from the group. The cream tea was really good with tasty scones and ample cream, butter and jam. The surroundings are immaculately clean. Cannoy be faulted.

Was treated to afternoon tea by our son and daughter. Had a 'proper pot of Yorkshire tea' in a beautiful tea pot with a nice selection of sandwiched with two sooo light profiteroles, a chocolate muffin with chocolate buttercream and a melt in the mouth slice of lemon cheesecake. To finish there ware two scones with a pot of jam and a pot of clotted cream. The whole experience was a treat to behold along with the very friendly and helpful staff. It might be miles from where my wife and I live but we will be returning.

What a fantastic find this place is!! We went yesterday as a treat for my wife's birthday and along with all the other guests there enjoyed every minite of it. The place is quite small but in the summer they also use the outside. It's very quaint and traditional but immaculately clean and your hosts can't do enough for you with any special requests always dealt with. They serve a great variety of food but we all went for the afternoon tea and were not disappointed with a great selection of sandwiches and cakes. We didn't manage to eat it all despite our best efforts but were given doggy bags to take home for later on!! As I said at the start this place is a real find and we will be back again that's for sure and certainly would recommend it to anyone that's for sure. 5 STAR!!

My family and I went to the Shippon Tea Rooms to celebrate my dear mum's 70th birthday. We were greeted by 'Mike the Hooting Owl' (a charming novelty toy on the counter) and the two lovely owners, Pauline and Charlotte. The atmosphere in the tea room is tranquil and very relaxing and both the food and service were superb. My little boy absolutely loved the cream of vegetable soup and the Homity pie was so delicious that I wanted to try and make it over the Easter holidays at home. My mum really struggles with food combinations due to her poorly stomach, but Charlotte and Pauline managed to accommodate her needs and nothing was too much trouble to make her day special. My boyfriend and I have since been back to the tea rooms where again the food was delicious. It is fast becoming one of our favourite eating places and I would highly recommend it to all. Thank you so much.

Lovely afternoon tea for my mother in laws birthday. We visited on the 21 st December with 5 adults and 4 children. The children had their own table and sandwiches (nice and simple) and they had ice cream and cake for dessert. The adults had a regal high tea, festive sandwiches and cakes. Lovely food and great service. My only reservation were the puddings which were very Xmas themed (eg plum pudding and mince pies) and not to everyone’s taste.

Well, we were all delighted with this afternoon tea in a very quaint setting. Four of us celebrated 280 years of life ,fun, friendship , marriage , children , and Grandchildren , in this lovely very unique café / tearoom. The sandwiches and cakes were delightful, alas too much for us ,but great we were issued with high class Doggie bags to take the remainder of our treats home with us. Please try it . They also do other light menus for lunch.

What a lovely place to eat, drink and relax. Luckily this place was recommended to me as I would have never known about it. Decided to try it out for my birthday lunch with my sister. Went hoping to have Afternoon Tea but it was not available as we had not booked. Fortunately for us though, Homity Pie was on the menu. It was lovely - so tasty. With a pot of tea and scone, we had a lovely lunch whilst spending quality family time. Staff are friendly and attentive. Will certainly be recommending to others.

As a large group the tea rooms was our private venue for the afternoon. Lovely setting, with staff wearing Victorian costume, there was plenty of tea or coffee available, quite plain style sandwiches, but the highlight for me being the gorgeous scones ! It would have been nice to have a wider choice of tea (green, herbal or fruit). Overall a lovely tea room.

Arrived here hungry and thirsty when long distance travelling. Beautiful, off the beaten path location ten minute drive outside Biddulph overlooking Staffordshire Moorlands. Tearooms overlook beautiful garden and, weather permitting, you can also sit outside in the next door field/grassy patch at bench/tables provided. Afternoon tea was splendid - chunky cheese and chutney sandwich, sizeable slice of home-made coffee cake and large pot of strong tea. Service was very friendly without being intrusive. Simple but perfectly executed tearoom formula. I will return soon.

New edition to the menu was a "Witches Tea" - sandwich, lovely cake, some salad and a pot of tea. Food presented on a tiered cake stand. Delightful. And you get to read your own tea leaves (instructions included!) the menu isn't large, mostly cake and a variety of hot/cold sandwiches. Soup. Also a salmon pasta bake. Children's portions available. No meat on the menu on this visit. This remains a lovely tea room to visit and eat. Spectacular location. Love it.

From the moment you walk in you get a most warm welcome from Pauline & Charlotte. The decor is lovely (please see my photos) and there is a nice cosy atmosphere. We went for lunch and my wife had the superb Homity Pie (I managed to taste a bit!) Really tasty. My choice was a lovely, fresh homemade tomato soup with a cheese & Branston sandwich. Both lovely..so fresh. We also had a slice of chocolate cake to take out. Very good! The Team Room is situated in a gorgeous setting..you need to visit the area, it is stunning. Four of us had Afternoon Tea here last Saturday, which was delicious, a good variety of sandwiches and cakes, plus crackers and pate. During the month of December they had an Downton Abbey Theme, which made it all the more special and atmospheric, especially with the Christmas decorations and log burner, which was very much appreciated due to the horrendous weather outside. Food delicious, and a very friendly, excellent service. Would recommend, and hope to go back shortly.

Myself and my husband visited the Shippon Tea rooms today .....what an amazing, unique experience we had. The place is so beautifully decorated with a 'go back in time' traditiona, cosy inviting feel. The ambience of the place was truly spectacular and the staff, dressed in traditional clothing gave the experience that special, unique touch. We both ordered the 'Homity Pie' with salad and tea for two. It was so nice to be served tea from a fine bone china tea service with the most decorative 'gold teapot' I've ever seen!! The Homity pie was truly scrumptious and the portion size was excellent making it great value too!! The cakes looked delicious so I asked for a slice of the chocolate fudge cake to take away, I'm yet to try it as I am still full from the amazing pie!! I would highly recommend this place for light lunch, afternoon tea and definitely give the pie a try, you won't be disappointed. The staff are so friendly and polite and are truly passionate about what they do....So, if your looking for something much more special than a cafe, then pay this place a visit...I am sure you will have a most wonderful experience as we both did today!!!

We were doing the Chrome Hill walk and called in for a drink before setting off. The ladies in the cafe were so welcoming, giving advice on the walk and even lending me a walking pole. This is a quaint, traditional tearoom with homemade cakes, quiches etc. Everything coming out of the kitchen was fresh and delicious. As a community hub there was also local produce to buy, including items to raise money for mountain rescue. Charming little place, well worth a visit, and even better when we bought cakes to bring home too - lip smackingly good!

We were staying over in Leek on a Sunday evening, wanting to sample some Staffordshire oatcakes the following morning, but the oatcake shop we wanted was closed on Monday! Poor planning. But luckily this place was open at 7.30 am and we found what we wanted here: oatcakes with various fillings such as bacon or tomato; all with cheese. If you've not tried them, Staffordshire oatcakes are very different to the Scottish biscuit that most people associate with 'oatcakes'. Here, they are a soft, flexible wrapper like a pancake, or perhaps a chapatti, made from a thin layer of a yeasted oatmeal/wheat batter griddled until it sets, then wrapped around your chosen filling. We took a pair of oatcakes with cheese and bacon, and a full English of 2 eggs, 2-3 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 toast, beans and tomatoes, plus extra hash browns. This was all in a takeaway tray - there is no table service here. It took about 10 minutes, which is fair enough as everything is cooked to order; but we were the only customers at that time. I imagine at busy times there could be quite a wait. The food was excellent, piping hot as you'd expect with it being cooked to order; and good value too, under £10 for the 2 breakfasts described above, though coffees added a bit more. Highly recommended.

Both the steak and chicken dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. Though they didn’t look like large portions, they were surprisingly satisfying. The candied carrot cheesecake was absolutely lovely, while the banoffee pie didn’t quite meet my wife’s expectations—perfect excuse for a swap! In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
