Please don’t order from there I have ordered by uber eats and they did not bring my order or pick up my call so disappointed and lost my money

Bhajis have taken over shimla I used to work for shimla food was spot on before, just ordered a mild meal it's over hot ,massala sauce and chips ,chips not cooked mudari won't be eating throwing a way won't be using them again

Chicken was raw and the staff was very rude when I brought this up Wont be ordering from here again

Placed an order tonight through Just Eat. It turned up ?30-minutes earlier than predicted. Boom, was so hungry. The good-amazing, tasteful. Servings-big. I will be having my dinner from this tomorrow as well. Delivery guy was smiley, happy and so polite. No bother having to come up to 2nd floor. Thank you so much.

Just had a chicken Bhuna, delivered, I am not exaggerating it was the best I have ever had full of flavour and plenty of chicken

First time I've visited Shimla so I will give it 4 stars and then review the score once I've been back a few more times as to my meal everything was nice and tasty if I was to have a negative it would be that the Main was a vegetable dhansak it was very saucy with only a small amount of vegetables would of liked more to balance the meal ,but overall I enjoyed the taste and heat level the poppadoms were a welcome surprise.

Ordered a meal for 19:15, finally arrived at 20:05. Called the restaurant at 19:45 and was told ‘it’s on it’s way’ Got a call from the delivery driver and in fairness she did apologise, but when she finally arrived, the food was virtually cold and had made a hell of a mess in the delivery bag. I said it was not good service and it was over 45 minutes late. Her attitude was disgusting, she could not have cared less. That person is the face of the company and should have a much better attitude towards customers. Used to be a regular customer but no more.

Went to this restaurant on a week day evening. The food was fresh and tasty, the staff friendly and efficient and the restaurant was very clean and Covid safe. We had a lovely meal and enjoyed eating out again in a relaxed atmosphere rather than staying home. We will be recommending it to all our family and friends.

Where to start ? We ordered 2 chicken Korma's with rice and a garlic naan... £26 by the way. The food turned up and couldn't wait to tuck in cause I was proper starving. As I was dishing out I knew this was gunna go pear shaped from the get go ! The rice was so watery it was literally swimming around on our plates as if every grain needed arm bands. The korma itself looked as though it had curdled. There were actual lumps in the sauce and tasted like gone off milk or cream or what ever they use. I decided to ring the shop to mention there was a issue with our meal and his only reply was " next time use a different take away, you might prefer there's to ours " I asked for a refund if I were to bring it back and he very bluntly said no. What a absolute disgrace. Please do not use this curry house. Go to Bhaji's a couple shops down. Much better quality food !

I ordered a takeaway to be delivered for NYE. My order still had not turned up after 4 hours waiting. So I cannceled after waiting so long. I woke up to a £4 sorry refund for an order that was £30+. I will never order from here again. My family went hungry lastnight.

Ordered meal with rice - rice not delivered - when phoned to complain, slammed phone down on me - basically did not care one bit Won’t be coming back here again!

Will never use Shimla again, our delivery turned up late and not only was it cold but several items were missing. My husband phoned and was told they were there, well they are not here so they cut him off. I rung and the same guy cut me off. We used to use them regularly but we won't use again. Ruined a Saturday evening

Worst customer service ever! Waited 2 hours for food to arrive and called 3 times to check up on it, each time they said ‘it was just coming’ followed by hanging up on me the 2nd time. The chicken was pink. Veg samosas were meat, and found this out after already taking a bite. Terrible if I was a vegetarian and bit into that due to incorrect labelling. NEVER using this awful restaurant again!

Not sure if this has changed owner or chef but it's been going down hill rapidly, This use to be our favourite Indian but I think after tonight's meal it will be our last. Tikka Malala has lost its red colour and flavour ,The mint sauce has changed colour and flavour, Husband didn't get his Sheek kebab and if my rice was boiled it was so gross.....

We placed the order this evening around 19 30 it actually didn't arrive until 22.00 it was supposed to be delivered about 20.30 if your under pressure at least have a good manners to tell customers not lie to them and put the phone down??

Would recommend as a good venue for large groups- a fixed price menu agreed in advance for my husband’s 60th birthday party, good quality food with decent portions,efficient service, and the added bonus of being able to take our own alcohol.

Pedí un curry para mi familia, solo para esperar casi 2 horas para que me lo entregaran. Luego, cuando llegó, mi esposa tenía 3 langostinos en su comida, mi hijo y yo teníamos 5 pequeños trozos de pollo en la nuestra. La salsa era prácticamente inexistente y, para colmo, era completamente insípida.Nunca tendré un curry de este "restaurante" de nuevo.

The food was lovely! First time I have been and was very impressed with the food! However the extremely loud ringing from the machine behind the counter is not something we wanted to hear constantly throughout what was meant to be a romantic evening.

First time ordered with them, they up to a hour so one hour and twenty minutes I ring them to be told it's still in the kitchen. I said that's not really any good and said it's to late and what do they do but hang phone up. So rude

Food is great.. from starters to mains. Vegetarian versions are good too although not a huge choice available. Love getting a takeaway regularly from the friendly staff. Would definately recommend you try their food.

Just had a wonderful takeaway from the Shimla. Always top class service and amazing quality food. I ask for a hot Chicken Bhuna and it was cooked to perfection.

I would of given 5 stars but what they charge for a buffet is too expensive we weren't allowed to see what we were ordering but only on the menu and we wasnt allowed to take third round of buffet food for them to put it in the box to take home and we were getting stared at whilst eating our food and also the woman couldn't wait to take my debit card to pay for the meals it's a shame because I like Chinese food

So disappointed with my experience with Shimla Spice, I am a loyal customer to them visiting monthly however on this occasion they have provided poor service. Very disappointed and will not be visiting again, and will also be telling friends / family about my experience. Such a shame!

Sizzling hot starters...good choice of main dishes...cream coffee...mango kulfi was all delicious & tasty. Top marks...would go again.

We had a home delivery tonight. The second worst indian food we have ever had. Avoid please and use somewhere else. This place is really not good.

Quality food lovely selection of dishes, no alcohol served but the food quality is the best I have tasted. They do allow alcohal to be brought in for own consumtion wich was a real plus

A bunch of mates looking for a good honest curry on the Bristol Road.....and that’s what we got! Excellent food and service, and excellent value too. Very good food all round......wholeheartedly recommend.

We have recently enjoyed another family meal at Shimla Spice. This restaurant never fails on quality food, I always have a lamb dish and it is always tender. I believe this is the best Indian food in Gloucester. Always have a warm and friendly welcome.

Si encuentras que la comida es un poco picante, solo tienes que decírselo al dueño y se siente, mi hermana y mi sobrina vinieron de Yorkshire y les encanta ir allí, la propia siempre viene y Habla con usted. Rang to make an order, and the person on the other end of the phone had the cheek to take another phone call whilst I was trying to place an order, incredibly poor customer service, I have never used this establishment and never will after this. Thoroughly disappointed and would not recommended.

Worst food which I had on name of Shimla. Attitude of Person who was taking order was bad. In terms of billing, they gave handwritten bill not even Printed bill. First time in my life I saw any restaurant charging for Chutny with Papadam. Will never visit again.

we ordered a home delivery takeaway at 6.30 pm and was told within the hour - rang at 8.00 pm chasing the delivery and told it was on the way - time is now 8.45 pm and they have just delivered - two hours and fifteen minutes !!! don't think we will be using the home delivery again !! serves us right for being lazy, will order and collect from Indian memories next time ..... Thank you

Had some indian curries many times before but this was not one of the best. Couldn't finish the curry due to tough meat and the naan bread was so doughy and undercooked. Onion bajhees were very dry too and so glad I had saved the dips from the poppadoms. Wasn't very busy either so we had over attention all night .. Sorry but will try somewhere else next time .

La comida de este lugar fue increíble, nos la entregaron y valió la pena la espera. Mi novia es vegetariana y dice que el chicpea chana malasa fue el mejor que ha tenido en mucho tiempo. Y el precio era justo! Definitivamente los volveré a usar

I ordered a paneer which usually has cheese chunks in and it didn’t. Butter chicken tasted terrible and the other curry that was also ordered also didnt taste great Rice still had water in and caused water on the plate and curry. Will not be ordering from there again - used to be a regular customer....

My girlfriend & I had dinner at Shimla and it really was excellent. Every dish we ordered was very tasty and the service was good too.

Pude dejar globos y alcohol el día anterior (fue un cumpleaños sorpresa) y esto me ayudó mucho. La comida fue muy buena y definitivamente la visitaremos nuevamente, ¡Gracias!

Fab food and great service. Amazing how quiet they were on a Saturday evening. Kinda like being able to take your own drinks but did miss a cool beer with the meal. Will certainly come back again.

I've been using the Shimla ever since it first opened and it has probably become my favourite of all of the Indian restaurants in the city.

Had better but the staff are friendly.

Firstly the positives, you can bring your own booze (we didn’t) so if that’s a primary factor then this is a great choice. Poppadoms were served with plenty of chutneys etc. The tarka dal was delicious.

Horrible delivery service. Delivery driver arrived 10 minutes late and the food felt cold as well, I offered him to bargain for the food as I felt paying the full amount for the food was not worth the money, but he declined. So he just took the food and stormed off. Order was canceled and 20 minutes later got a call from JustEat in regards to my unsatisfactory order. The Customer Support Adviser, typically was Indian and couldn't even talk properly in English when I explained my unsatisfactory order. I wanted to report the restaurants bad delivery service but all JustEat said was that they do no accept Feedback as they do not have the department available for that kind of service. (Which is absolutely ridiculous). All I could do was to write a review on Google. To be honest, I wanted to report the delivery driver and the bad Customer Service JustEat are providing to customers, without sounding rude or racial, the advisers English was so poor & I had to repeat myself so many times, I was getting so annoyed and pissed off to talk to her. Absolutely unacceptable service by JustEat, as well as the delivery driver's attitude with Shimla Spice. Not ordering from again, despite the high recommended review people have voted for this restaurant and review on here, the people were very ignorant to me from the restaurant and JustEat services.

Paid more than our usual place. Food was bland and featureless. Friday night eating in had 10 people in an entire restaurant, that should have been a warning. The food was more highly coloured - almost glowed - than flavoursome.

Lovely meal on a Saturday night; around 15 guests so we were put in a cosy back room. They don't serve alcohol so make sure you bring your own. We only found out on the night but there was a shop next door that we could purchase our drinks from (bit expensive though). The food was simply delicious- recommend the Pran chicken from the specials. Staff were lovely and friendly and sang Happy Birthday as loud as the rest of us. Had a gender reveal that night too and insisted on clearing up the confetti themselves. Will definitely be visiting again as very reasonable prices and food was amazing!

A family meal to celebrate 2 birthdays was spoilt by the attitude of the staff when the food was not satisfactory Garlic mushrooms without spice was ordered as one of the starters It smelt/looked spicy so someone who wasn't allergic tasted it first - narrow escape as it was very spicy. King prawn madras was hotter than vindaloo - waiters were slow to replace & made comment 'madras is spicy' By the time it was cooked everyone had finished eating so we asked for it to be boxed - please see photo of sarcastic comment on box When we asked to see manager we were told he was busy in kitchen A course in customer service is definitely needed

Really excellent food, tasty & well spiced, they even made up a dish for us off the menu & that was superb. Friendly service & BYO alcohol too, the prices represent really good value too with large portions - highly recommend

Held a business launch event there, could not have picked a better place, the facility, the service, the food was fantastic, all my guests were really impressed, happy and full of praise.

Ordered delivery. Was told within the hour. Called again after hour and a half food had not left the place. Total joke of excuses. Not ordering from them again. Just to add. It finally turned up 1 and half hour late also after I had cancelled it. Delivered by someone who looked homeless no teeth and very rude. Definitely not ordering from them ever again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to.

My husband, son and myself went to Shimla Spice last night. We really enjoyed our meals. Everything was delicious. Top quality Indian cuisine! Really generous portions too and we all agreed it was the best Indian restaurant we had been to. The surroundings were authentic and good ambiance too! A lovely restaurant we shall recommend and certainly be visiting again

Algunos amigos y yo visitamos ayer para la cena, la comida estaba muy buena, el servicio muy rápido y eficiente.
