Baburchi Cuisine in Gloucester

Incorrect order received. Only 1 rice but another order received. Made do but not what we ordered.

It was all bland and nothing like it used to be five years ago- despite being five minutes from the restaurant it was also cold. I won’t use them again.

The food was late by 40 mins .also it was cold .the driver didn't say sorry for being late.

The chicken was dry, Keema naan was soggy Poppadoms were stale and was overall poor quality

Unfortunate all of the food was cold on arrival. Up until now we have had no problems at all. If the food was still hot when it arrived then we would of definitely said we would order from there again. We have never had any problems with cold food .

Food was so oily it was inedible. Curry had 4 tiny pieces of chicken.

Great food and service just a shame the beer was missing but dealt with the restaurant 🙏

Food was average, madras overpowered by lemon. My issue with this place is the smell. As soon as I walked in I could smell sewage and the smell remaine throughout the whole time I was there. Couldnt smell any food cooking? You only have to be on the same street as an indian restaurant and you can smell it, so that was suspicious. My Favourite part was where I looked down to see a slug on my knee while I was eating 🙃 its little snail trail was very short so it most likely was underneath the table and dropped on to me... LOVELY! Soon as I seen it I felt ill and never took another bite. This place needs a visit from environmental health to be honest...

Poppadoms stale. Onion bhajis warm at best. Rest of food warm to hot. Disappointing as this restaurant is 10 mins from my house and the food at the restaurant is outstanding.

Food delivered early, still piping hot also. Great taste and flavours. Highly recommend

The chicken pakorah starter wasn't all the that, precooked chicken tikka dipped in a doughnut like batter and fried. The garlic chilli chicken had a nice flavour

Fantastic Food, the naan breads are top notch. Good prices too. I only gave 3 stars for service because the young woman serving failed to say the plates were very hot, so myself and another member of our group got scolded. Atmosphere is fine, there seemed to be an odd smell every now an then which reminded me of drains. Overall for the price and food quality I'd recommend it. It's also BYOB (Bring your own Booze) and there are shops nearby to get some. Parking is a bit hit and miss, so if you can't park out of the front, you may have to find parking in the business estate. That'll only take you 2 minutes or so to walk to and from.

Loved the food it was great the only thing I would like to add is maybe next to the samosas you put small size as I wouldn’t of paid nearly £5 for 2 tiny ones.

Got this for the first time delivered through Just Eat last night. High recommend to vegans. Their vegan korma & tikka masala was great! Quite a few vegan options which is hard to find with Indian food.

Despite the bad comments I gave it a go and was not disappointed at all. Well cooked full of flavours and good value price. Grabbed a beer from next door so all in all great meal no ill after effects. Good job.

The door was delivered to the wrong address. The neighbours opened and started dispersing and eating the food, it was collected from them and given to us to eat! How can anyone think this is acceptable? The restaurant agreed to send out new food, after initial order was collected and checked....I have already told them it had been pawed at by other people. This service is not acceptable and very upsetting

This is one of the nicest meals I have ever had. The Cheif must be a grand master. After I finishes, I wanted more, I had the Lamb and Chicken Biriani 👍 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, A HAPPY BELLY AND SATISFACTION IS LEAVING THIS REVIEW. Thanks for the awesome meal, I'll be checking to see if there is eat in seating and taking my family there to try it.

Beautiful curry and mixed grill and the naan breads were some of the best I’ve ever had definitely our houses Indian takeaway place

Been using Baburchi for at least 15 years. I’ve tried others but my opinion is this is the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in Gloucester. This is where I discovered Shatkora and I’m hooked!

want a refund, food was stone cold and 45 minutes late

Ordered £90 worth of food 28th October, we were told 50 min before delivery after 75min trying to ring no answer, so drove there, told delivery was on way, when asked why phone not answered, told too busy, only 2 tables occupied in restaurant. Food was cold when finally arrived. 4 nan breads missing, had to do another trip to wait for them at restaurant. Will definitely not recommend, or use again.

Great Service, ordered a meal before get in for a family dinner ,we was welcome by the staff and serve the food after a couple minutes, best Indian restaurant in the area , food so tasty and well cooked. Will come back again . 100% recommended

Very small portion. The main was obviously microwaved. Poor quality sundries also. I was expecting good quality food from here as it was so expensive. Will not be ordering from here again. Very dissatisfied unfortunately.

Terrible. Naan bread was tasteless and chewy. The curry must of been for a child, less than half full containers. Plastic found in my curry. To top it off, nearly an hour late. First and last time ordering from here

Unbeliverble! Orderd my food was told i pay when its ready. I came back and they charged me full price without the10% off for takeaway. When i mentionede 10% discount it they said the menu already included 10% off which is nonsense. He then got the folder menu you sit down with and the main was £1 cheaper but starter, veg dish, nann all same price. I said so can i have the 10% dicount and he said no. So for robbing me of £2.70 i will never be back and made mw leave this review

Ordered take-away for delivery at 7pm, received email telling me it would be delivered at 7.30, it arrived at 6.30 (the same has happened previously)! Chicken tikka masala contained 6 small pieces of chicken, lamb jalfrezi contained 5 small pieces of lamb, poppadoms stale, naan cold. Very poor tonight

Food good but not up to usual standard. Ordered 2 pilau rice which were missed out of delivery. Eventually got through to restaurant, they delivered just one rice half an hour later. We now have 2 bags of unwanted poppadoms and we didn't have enough rice last night. Also had to keep original meal warm until rice arrived. Waiting for a refund for both rices to compensate for inconvenience.

I just got a scam phone call from this number pretending to be my mobile provider. i guess their staff has 2 jobs. scamming people and feeding people

Popped in here in a rush on our way to an event around 6 p.m. on a Thursday night. Found the staff to be very helpful, food came out quickly and was very tasty. No complaints from us tonight😊

Asked for fresh garlic in curry didn't get it Asked for extra cheese in the nann bread didn't get it. The only reason I ordered here was bhajis was closed. Won't be ordering again from barbuchi. BHAJIS OPEN ON A TUESDAY you put barbuchi to shame .

Had a takeaway and it was superb, ordering hariali chicken with mushroom rice, saag paneer and chipati’s. The food was so fresh and flavoursome - one of the best curry’s I’ve had. Will be ordering again 👍🏼

We decided to take a guest who was visiting from abroad to this restaurant, which has been our favourite for Indian food in Gloucester for years. Wednesday night. Empty. We sat down but it was freezing. My parents are OAPs. I told the only staff member there that we would be leaving as it was too cold. Also, some of the furniture still had the packaging on. Not good signs. Turn on the heating and make people feel welcome.

Stopped ordering from here due to a previous experience of missing items from the order. Decided to try again and yet again the rice was missing. Portions have shrunk and vegetable curry was missing vegetables.

Just average. Nothing bad, but I've had much better. most places give you a little salad/onions and raita if you order bhajis as a starter, but we did not get anything.

We were missing a rice from our order but it wasn't the end of the world and the rest of our order was absolutely beautiful. Portions were great sizes too so the missing rice didn't matter too much.

To order a takeaway and be messaged it will take over an hour to deliver was bad enough. To still not have received my order 30 minutes after the excessive delivery time has elapsed is unacceptable. No message, no call, nothing. And yes you guessed it they’ve taken the money for it. This is another example of appalling service from a local business. I purposely used Baburchis own website as Just Eat costs them money. More fool me - never again. Just have to see if they refund my money or not.

Ordered takeaway tonight via website. Money taken immediately. Was eventually told it would take over an hour to arrive. 30 mins after promised delivery time no message and no food. Couldn't get through on phone. Eventually arrived 45 minutes late after leaving a message on an answer phone to cancel the order. Sent driver away with food as too late to eat. Disappointed as normally no issues but this time we've been let down. Never again.

Food order placed, delivery slot for 70 minutes later, 45 minutes after the 70 minutes had passed i called Baburchi. My call went straight to answer phone so I left a message saying cancel my order. I sent a text message saying the same thing as it was now way too late to eat. Some time after that the food arrived and was promptly sent back with the driver who neither apologised for being so late or appeared to care. Trying to support local business I ordered from Baburchi own website as Just Eat costs them money. More fool me. Reading other reviews this onetime excellent restaurant and takeaway/ delivery, is no longer. Poor service seems the norm, unreliable delivery common place and customer service an alien concept. Before eating at or ordering food from this restaurant, read the reviews, some of which are good but many are informative. I should add that we have eaten at Baburchi on and off for nearly 20 years. We won’t be eating there ever again or ordering a delivery.

Food never turned up even though said on app it had. Restaurant didn't answer calls for update. We've loved the food years....disgusting customer service 2 hours plus still waiting

Ordered a curry for husband and sons joint birthday. I know the price of food has gone up so wasn't surprised by the price. Very disappointed with the vegetable samosas. £4 for 2, 1 pea in each the only veg. No complimentary salad ( still cost pence), no complimentary poppadoms. The curry dishes themselves were tasty, but little meat. Happy for businesses to put up prices due to inflation but expect value for.momey. This was not value for money. Certainly will not be ordering from here again.

Regularly have takeaways delivered from here and love the food. Went to restaurant with friends (first time for several years) to find the personnel and restaurant all changed. The staff were friendly and service good but the place lacked atmosphere. The lighting is cold and the temperature was slightly low. It was almost empty on a Friday night. In the past it would have been buzzing. The food was good as ever though and we had a fun outing anyway.

We order the same dishes regularly from Baburchi Cuisine and it never disappoints. our order of Chicken Korma, Chicken tikka Paneer, Pilau rice and nan was very tasty and hot. We will order from them again.

Received a text to let us know delivery was delayed but only by 10minutes. First time we've tried this place and not disappointed! I had the tikka korma and my partner had tikke masala, the food arrived between warm and hot so no complaints there. The sauce was yummy and the chicken very tender. We even received an extra popadum!! We will recommend and be back!

First order from here. Pros, the main speciality currys were tasty, cons, the onion bhajis came without any salad or mint sauce. Never known this from any other takeaway. A complimentary popadom would have been a bonus too 😁

Very nice clean bright Indian restaurant not too busy and fantastic flavoured food. There was 4 of us and all 4 meals were lovely.

I wasn't happy with my order for numerous reasons. Before I ordered it said that the wait time would be 30-55 minutes. I waited 1hour and 30 minutes. The food was cold. I order 2 rios which were over priced and they came and they were light rios. So they were incorrectly advertised. The nan bread was wet and soggy and of course cold.

Missing 2 items from order. Poor delivery time and food was lukewarm so had to warm up everything. avoid avoid avoid!!
