Shimla Spice Restaurant - Shipley in Bradford

This place never fails to please, and they have new menu, decor and tunes, heavenly.

Had an unexpected curry before home and was hugely surprised. I'm not keen on curry usually as spice can overrule the flavour but not on this occasion. The quality of food and added ingredients were very good. Food was served hot and everything clean. The service was excellent, short waiting times and really pleasant and attentive staff. Just disappointed I couldn't finish it all. Will definitely be returning.

Been away from Bradford for a few years and had forgotten how good they were. And amongst Bradford curry houses, Shimla is excellent. And the service is good too, very friendly.

The food is good but the waiter who severd us was chewing gum very loudly he was in professional! He didn't ask how we wanted our meal wether it was mild or hot! The other waiters were laughing at each other and standing around doing nothing! Not very professional at all.

I ordered a Dhansak and it was sadly very bland. No real flavour to it and it's not the first time I've had this experience.

Really poor curry the menu is vast it’s not possible to cook so many dishes and have distinct flavours I had the madras with poor chicken and nothing like a madras sauce I’ve ever had the popadoms were not good or crisp despite being kept in a hot cupboard… the mixed starter was ok as was the rice … we had the family garlic nan which was doughy and partially uncooked at the edges and no discernible garlic … Aagrah round the corner is much better a la carte or buffet or better still individually cooked dishes at Mughals on Leeds Road

The staff were great and very attentive. We went on a Sunday evening and there was a great atmosphere, even though it wasn’t so busy. The restaurant deco is also really nice. We had a great evening. The food was nice and I would recommend the desi mix grill. Thank you 👍🏽

The butter chicken was to die for absolutely amazing couldn’t recommend enough

One of the best curry I had. I have had loads too. Chapati and poppadoms were so perfect. There was 6 of us and all enjoyed our night. Also we took some beers in too. Great chef.

I would recommend to only buy the starters as they were excellent. And to not buy the main dishes e.g curries, rice. As they were very bland and unseasoned.

5 stars all round, from.the moment we stepped into the restaurant we we're given top class service. The food was incredible as was the service. We visited from London for the week. Shimla Spice is now our 'Go To' restaurant. We've told all our friends to get up north to see how hospitality is really done.

Lovely food and good size portions.

Wonderful meal yet again. The service is second to none. Uzzy introduced us to the Desi meat curry which was exceptional.

Took a mouthful of curry and found a sharp piece of white plastic as I started chewing, thankfully felt it before I swallowed as could of been a different outcome, put me off the rest of my food unfortunately!

Really great atmosphere in a busy local restaurant. Deservedly busy because the food was absolutely delicious and the “family naan” was unique and life-changing!

Wonderful restaurant, the Shimla spice fish balti is excellent.

Delicious food overall as usual, however the shami kebabs were extremely wet and we only received 3 chapatis when we had ordered 4; at £1.35 each it would be nice to get as many as we'd ordered.

Food was okay, but well over priced. I think because we wasn't regular. I was shocked to see the bill

Sal is the best, properly looked after us, delivered the most incredible food from the kitchen and made us feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant. Shimla is the best place in Shipley and at a price that suits your pocket. Totally recommend anyone looking for good food and a great experience.

Just had the best curry at Shimla. Sal looked after us so well. The new decor and refurbishment is lovely and I will be back soon.

Me dieron una comida para llevar de este lugar y estaba delicioso! Nos arriesgamos porque no conocíamos la zona y los mejores lugares para comer. Pero la comida de aquí era preciosa. Era un poco caro, pero definitivamente vale la pena.

Had a lovely Christmas Day curry with my family, food was great, very busy if a little chaotic but understandable, would definitely eat there again

My go to curry house not just in Shipley but in Bradford! Delicious food, exceptional service from friendly knowledgable staff, I won't go anywhere else. :-) Thank you to the whole team, especially Usman, that work very hard to deliver quality food and quality service and never disappoint. The decor is very stylish and upscale. Highly recommend to everyone, even if you live at a distance.

Still a long wait but great food

This is our first visit to shimla spice (Shipley one), we normally go to great horton Shimla. But by the recommendation of Sal we had the desi sizzler mix and your desi chicken karahi. Honestly very tasty and I can’t really handle spice so it wasn’t very hot thankfully. Also , we had a huge naan On a stand it was very well presented. Definitely will come again ! Keep the great work up I loved the service and atmosphere was great 👍🏻.

I have been going to the Shimla in Shipley and Keighley for more than 20 years and it never disappoints. I live on the South coast but travel to the area regularly for work and always eat at the Shimla every visit. The food never fails (nothing like it where I live) and the service is always brilliant. I’m often on my own but always made to feel very welcome and on this latest visit Sal looked after me and was really attentive and friendly. King prawn paratha to start on this visit followed by the fish karai - both were absolutely delicious.

Had a fantastic meal here last Friday with friends, absolutely delicious and great value. We were served by a lovely young man, Yaseen! He was polite and friendly, taking the time to chat. It was a pleasure to meet you Yaseen - keep up the great work!

Nos levantamos de Sussex visitando a algunos muy buenos amigos. Habían reservado este restaurante ya que era uno de sus favoritos. Empezaré con el servicio que encontré que era amable y eficiente, aunque parecía bastante apresurado en algunos puntos, pero superamos lo suficientemente rápido, ya que el plato principal era delicioso! El entrante era un poco soso (pollo en una especie de tubo de pastelería) El naan era apropiado! ¡Solo dame eso y un cubo de salsa y estoy feliz! Nos encantó pasar tiempo aquí con buenos amigos y nos pareció que la experiencia era muy agradable oh y el precio era muy reflexivo en la calidad de la comida. Tengo que mencionar a nuestro servidor Yassen que aunque era un chico muy joven era muy agradable y muy informativo en el menú y no podía hacer lo suficiente.

Spent £50 on two curries with sides & starters. The only way to describe the chicken in the Chicken Madras was like rubber bullets, for a £12 curry not was expected, lacked the flavour you’d expect from a madras. One of the Chicken tikka pieces in the masala had a sharp piece inside. Cutting inside of partners mouth and causing her to taste blood throughout the meal. For price we’ve paid, seemingly for restaurant quality, wouldn’t recommend at all. Disappointed.

I always enjoy eating here. The food is always fantastic but it's the service that really sets it apart. All the staff are welcoming, professional, helpful and friendly. This time we were a party of 10 and a young man called Habeeb looked after us so well he deserves a special mention 👍👍👍

I recently visited Shimla Spice Shipley, and I have to say the experience was exceptional! The food was bursting with authentic flavors, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. However, the real highlight of the evening was Uzzy. His service was absolutely amazing – attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had a great time.

Uzzy is the best in his service. Always happy and welcoming. Love this place

I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant, the food is always fantastic. I have to mention Uzzy though who regularly delivers food to my elderly parents. My father had fallen and Uzzy came out specially late at night to help him to his feet. He could not have been kinder or more patient and respectful, refusing all attempts to pay him for his troubles, a special person. We are all so grateful

Not particularly impressed. Felt quite rushed to order and when food arrived was launched at us without any particular care. Other than that staff were polite and attentive but the important points felt lacking. The chicken in my Balti was particularly dry. Wouldn't rush back.

Good communication before cooking items to confirm. Fresh food. All tasty and great. Quality meat and ingredients. Was referred by a friend and didn’t disappoint.

Was really craving a curry but the chicken curry - chicken was hard and the off parts of the chicken bits were white dots all through the curry. The meat curry was so dry no sauce and the meat was hard. The naan was so dry . We have eaten inside this restaurant lots of times before and the food has been lovely so was surprised but won't be ordering take out again

El iniciador de mezcla para dos estaba bien. La red tomó más de una hora, ya que nos olvidaron, pashwari naan era básicamente una envoltura de tortilla con sultanas y almendras quemadas en curry (desperdicio de dinero) tampoco eran los mejores. Básicamente pagó para comer un entrante y dejó el resto. El restaurante ni siquiera estaba ocupado, al personal tampoco le importaba una mierda
