Was very disappointed with the food. Starter and Currys swimming in oil, chicken was dry over cooked. All our food ended up in the bin. I wish we got a jar of curry sauce and chicken breast from the spar around the corner.

We visited Haworth Tandoori after spending the day in Haworth. We was warmly welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. A great menu with a fantastic choice of food. The staff are friendly and helpful, we shared an onion bhaji starter, my partner had chicken tikka massala and cheesy naan, I had korahi mixed with mushroom rice. We left with very full tummy's. We will definitely be returning.

Great food, bhuna was one of the best. Friendly service will definitely go back again. 2 years on and back in the Haworth area again, so paid another visit. Even better than I remembered, portion size is double compared to back home and very reasonable price with great friendly service. This really is one of the best, just a shame it over 200 miles from home.

We visited this restaurant on a trip to Haworth. Initially we were the only people in but it started to get busy with people getting takeaways and phone orders. We had poppadoms and pickles while looking at the extensive menu. We both decided to have a curry from their standard curries priced at £6.95 on the back page of the menu, a Lamb Madras and a Beef Bhuna with a rice each priced at £2.10 per portion. Food was brought and as I went to move the bowls I was abruptly told to leave them where the waiter had placed them 🤔🙄. The food was very nice but I decided to take mine home and after my partner ate more of his he asked to have his packed to take away too. The bill was brought and it was noticed that the lamb madras had been charged at £12.95 and the beef Bhuna at £8.95. When we queried this we were told the price of meat had 'shot up' so increases were necessary. It should be noted on the menu in this case. We paid and left as the waiter had adopted a fairly aggressive attitude. However, I will be contacting the local council licensing committee and trading standards to ensure that this restaurant is following the correct pricing guidelines. Beware of this when visiting this restaurant.

Appalling food !! After a long day at work I thought I would treat the family too a nice Indian take out, after reading such good reviews from here I assumed the food would be good ! I ordered 2 curry’s , a chicken tikka masala mild & a lamb rogan Josh. The chicken tikka could have passed as a soup I didn’t realise it was a vegetarian dish because we had ZERO chicken in our soup…sorry curry. The lamb rogan Josh was a sorry excuse the lamb was dried up and so much grease/oil was mixed into the sauce it was inedible. The poppadom pickle tray came spilled and the poppadoms tasted as if they was shop bought STALE the “royal” starter wasn’t very royal unless the royal family is a midget with an extremely small appetite. The only good thing about this meal was the rice. And let’s be honest anyone can cook rice. For the amount we payed the food was 100% NOT worth it !! So much that we ordered a McDonald’s soon after. I would very much like a refund of some sort as this is appalling !

Food was fine, I can't remember being either blown away or disappointed. I am veggie though, so the menu is always more limited. Staff were nice, and the location is good. It lost stars as: 1) When we visited, they did not accept card payments, so we had to walk back to an ATM in the pouring rain. They offered a direct bank transfer, which made the whole thing feel a little dodgy. 2) They do not accept Scottish notes, which is their decision but it doesn't make for a welcome sight as the first thing you see in when you arrive.

I have been getting take-away curries for a couple of months now and have to congratulate them on the quality and spicing of their food, it really is very good. The staff are polite and helpful, I like to make variations to my food, such as adding lamb into a chicken dish or taking full chillies out etc, and it's never any trouble. Well done and thank you to everyone at the Haworth Tandoori, your efforts are appreciated 👏. I have added a What3Words picture to the entrance as it isn't signposted.

This has to be about the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. We called for a short stay in Haworth and decided to go here. I wish I had read the most recent reviews before hand. The prices on their website are incorrect and the curries are dire. They have very few spices and are watery. Starters are tiny. Stay away if your are fond of your stomach.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We booked a table here after checking the menu online. We were staying in Haworth for a few nights (I lived here 10 years ago and loved the food here!) Absolutely shocked by the menu's. You had to look closely at the white sticker on the front. In handwritten illegible writing. Which was 'telling you the menu prices are incorrect' £1 extra per starter £1 extra per main £4 extra for a lamb main and £2 extra on top of your lamb main if the dish selected 'included rice or naan' I asked the waiter to explain the menu as I was confused to be abruptly asked 'Why, what are you confused about' ... The pricing and why it wasn't mentioned or explained before we were served our drinks. Very rudely informed that prices have gone up, the menu's are way over 5 years old and to blame their suppliers and that it would cost over 2k to print more menus. I did suggest that that's not a customers issue and perhaps updating the website, explaining the increases honestly and maybe using a laptop to type up the new prices and print off paper menus like most places now would clear this up, however he stormed off. This caused a little tension at the table but at just past 9pm our 14 year old was starving and so we carried on aware nowhere else would be serving at this time! A shame as we cancelled a table we'd precooked elsewhere after fancying something different to what we'd been eating everywhere else! Around 10 minutes later we were asked for our orders by who we believe is the owner. Who was smiley and pleasant. We ordered food which was delicious, although, I'd have much preferred lamb but certainly didn't want to pay an uplift from £9.95 on the menu to £15.95. I'm just incredibly glad my son noticed the white sticker before we ordered. Anyway, the meals were nice enough, but 2 dishes were served on plates, not in dishes with side plates and as we like to share our curries, my son went to ask for extra plates.... the original waiter abruptly asked him ''What for'' .....honestly? We had to explain that we like to put a bit of each curry and sides on our plates each!! Being fair, the Lime curry was superb. The Bhandashi was OK although the Pathia was poor in comparison to any curry restaurant we've eaten in before. The mixed kebab starter and the Sheekh Roll starters were nice as were the Naan breads. The pints of Cobra were 5.95 each which is steep. 2 starters, 3 chicken Curries, 1 Rice, 2 Naan Breads, 4 drinks and 1 soft drink came to £81.95 Such a shame!! I was given a takeaway menu, as I really liked the lime dish and wanted to see if I could find it in the future. My son pointed out the next day handwritten on the front of the menu in Biro (Not that you'd notice) .... £1 extra on St, £1 ex main £4 ex lamb Ask for other price increases!

Shocking curry delivered to our property. The madras sauce was disgusting, it was like flavoured dishwater and had the same consistency. 50 years ago I was given a curry cookbook for my birthday, the quality of curry I was making then was far superior to the rubbish we received last night. Soggy Onion Bhaji, tiny Sheek Kebabs and inedible Chicken Tikka. I feel sorry for the residents of Haworth if this is their main Curry Restaurant. The price...way too expensive. Never again.

We had two main problems with this establishment: Pricing and food quality. The website boasts a 15% discount for collected take aways. The website menu (which is a photo of the take away menu) states 10%. Naturally in the event, the owner chose to only offer the 10% discount. But it gets worse... on arrival to collect the order, the owner glibly pointed out that there is an extra £1 charge for each starter and £1 for each main course. So our bill was £4 more than expected. Having delivered this news, he casually passed over the same takeaway menu he had had phtotographed for his website, which now had written on it in biro, the extra £1 uplifts! So much for open, honest pricing/advertising and integrity. Turning to the food, my wife and I (with a combined age of over 110...) both agreed that this was without question the WORST "indian" food we had ever experienced. The Onion Bhaji was soggy and clearly reheated (how many days old....?), the Chat Puri bread was like a tepid greasy sponge. The Chicken Balti was so swimming in grease that we could taste nothing other than that, and the Butter Chicken with Cashews dish featured maybe six or seven VERY SMALL chunks of overcooked, dry chicken and TWO Cashew nuts -- the rest was a terrible sauce (so a ratio probably of 9 sauce to 1 meat in the container). The Naan bread was somewhere between cold and tepid - it needed to be microwaved. The Dhall Samba was unremarkable whilst also being the best part of the meal. Enough said. Little one can do when it's a takeaway; in retrospect the other positive reviews on this site are frankly astonishing in view of tonight's experience. We rarely complain either in person or on this site but this dreadful excuse for a meal really demanded it.

Visited on a Friday night as part of a group of 18 people and were separated onto 2 tables - our table with 8 on included 5 children and 3 adults ordered off the menu and had popadoms & pickles, 2 large mixed sizzler platters for 4 and 4 portions of chips PLUS drinks. They asked if we would like main courses also but we said not. The other table of 10 we were with all had popadoms, main courses and drinks but no starters. After a few minutes the waiter came over to our table and this is when the lies started - he said our starter was £16.95 rather than the £11.95 as per the menu. I asked why it was £5 more than the menu and he said the menu was old/out of date. I said it should not be being used then. He then said that we had to also have a main course - I again asked where it said that in the menu as I have never come across this anywhere before. The manager than came over and said he wasn't making any money off what we had ordered. I quizzed him on this but he was adamant even though the restaurant was empty prior to our arrival. After a short conversation and not to spoil it for the rest of the party we agreed to pay the higher price but were fuming. We spent almost £70 between 8 of us. The other half of our party spent well over £100 between 10 of them. I have been here numerous times before but will not be returning.

Couldn’t fault the service, popadoms and nan bread. Sadly though everything else we had was a huge disappointment. All the dishes were so bland with no flavour, salt or spice at all.

Visited this restaurant to celebrate my brother in laws birthday, we were blown away. The staff were friendly warm, welcoming and very attentive. The food was tasty and fantastic quality we had no complaints at all. At the end of the meal they brought a pudding out with a sparkler and sang happy birthday without any prompt or mention from ourselves. That was a lovely kind gesture and just ended our evening perfectly. My brother in law was a little embarrassed but he enjoyed every mouthful.

This smallish restaurant has been in situ in Haworth for as long as I can remember and we used it frequently when we used to live in the area. The staff have always been friendly but the taste and quality of the food has varied up and down over the years depending, I guess, on who the chef was. We have not been for a few years as we have moved away so this was something of a trip down memory lane. I am pleased to say that on this occasion the service was good and the food was enjoyable.

We've been going to this restaurant over 30 years , it's always a friendly atmosphere all the staff are friendly and polite. The food is always good and reasonably priced, it is only a small restaurant and fills up pretty quick , if your in Haworth it's definitely worth a visit.

This bijou restaurant run by friendly and helpful staff serves a full range of delectable Indian dishes to suit every palate and appetites. Probably our favourite Indian restaurant outside our own town. You can book, but call in on spec, since they often have a spare table!

Worst Food ever!......This place used to pass a nothing special curry house but just got a takeaway which is going in the bin!.bland food, small portions and whole tomatoes in a chicken tikka masala (hate whole tomatoes and they have no place in this dish) Stay well clear - won't be going again utter garbage!!

went Friday 26th Oct around 8pm for date night with my partner. Chose this place after popping our heads round the doors of the other 2 local curry houses which looked dismal. thought it might be good as it was quite busy. order chicken pakora and fish tikka for starters and a chicken bhuna and a chicken saag thing for mains. The food was bland and utterly devoid of flavour, there was no table check until we had finished. we ate the food as we were starving but didnt enjoy it. The food seemed reheated and definately wasnt fresh. was charged 2.80 for half a pint of soda water.Furnishings were incredibly dated. half an hour after we left my partner and i both had stomach pain and diaorea. Would not recommend at all. We wont be going back.

We called in to Haworth Tandoori at 6pm, reasonably confident of a table even though we hadn’t booked, and we were in luck! The restaurant soon filled up though so it is certainly worth booking if you are eating later.

Ive had a takeaway from here twice. Both times opted for the vegetarian option as i dont eat meat unless prepared by myself. Both occasions i had the same meal as there is limited vegitarian options. However both times the meal was lovely and well cooked. Throughly enjoyed it. Cant comment on the dining experience as I've never sat in although whilst waiting for my meal i have noticed the place to be a little dated. Didnt detract from the food though. Will visit next time im in the area.

Ate here on Friday 27th July. The food was dreadful. Hubby ordered Special Biryani and I had Lamb Biryani. Neither bore any resemblance to those dishes. The rice was brown, dry and tasteless and the lamb was like old shoe leather. It lacked any flavour and and came with a small bowl of "beige" sauce that was equally tasteless. None of the staff came back to the table to offer more drinks or ask if the food was OK .Would not recommend this restaurant at all.

We stayed in Haworth overnight and decided to treat ourselves to a curry after reading the excellent reviews on here. Unfortunately the korma’s were not up to the standard of our local Indian in Driffield. The korma sauce lacked richness and had a strange taste. The mushrooms were very chewy and the naan was too crispy, not light and fluffy as expected. The popadoms and chips were tasty though, and the staff were attentive. Such a shame!

We were taken here by our friends after the tour de Yorkshire, having eaten lots of " authentic" curries I was quite pleasantly surprised at the menu choice. We shared starters and each ordered our mains. I had a fish dish which was quite nice. The yogurt sauce here is delicious as it's not over chillie hot and has a nice blend of spices. The dishes were somewhat sweet in taste ( which I didn't mind) and unlike many curry houses the mains were NOT swimming in grease so that was also to the restaurant's favour. I was surprised that they served alcohol and my wine was actually quite nice. Yes I would recommend people dining here as we felt we were looked after, the meals were delivered in good order, we didn't have a massive wait, the waiters were willing to have a chat and all spoke excellent English so there was no language barrier.

Spent £50 on two curries with sides & starters. The only way to describe the chicken in the Chicken Madras was like rubber bullets, for a £12 curry not was expected, lacked the flavour you’d expect from a madras. One of the Chicken tikka pieces in the masala had a sharp piece inside. Cutting inside of partners mouth and causing her to taste blood throughout the meal. For price we’ve paid, seemingly for restaurant quality, wouldn’t recommend at all. Disappointed.

Very dirty smelly in the washroom, unhygienic flush is not working, food is dried since it's fresh if you eat buffet. Loud music that you can't even hear family talking to you. Price is high
