Such a shame, has changed hands and didn’t like the food. Had a special offer for early diners but even at a cheap price I wouldn’t eat. No flavour, bad taste and a waste of money. So sorry but not my place to go to anymore.

Can say much about the food as it has been 2 hours and it is still to be delivered despite (apparently) just coming out the kitchen 30 minutes ago.

Came with a friend and was bluntly told to "sit in corner." Staff unfriendly. When time for the bill, the waitress couldn't divide the bill in half or get a calculator to help her. When we advised her the correct amount for half, she instead overcharged me by a pound. Then once her 'mistake' was pointed out to her (which she just said "oops" to) she proceded to try to take a second payment for the same incorrect amount which wouldve overcharged us both £2. (We said no.)And finally, when I asked for my 2 half-finished dishes to be boxed up to take home, I got back to find only 1 there.Alright food but nowhere near worth the hassle and shoddy service :( embarrassingly poor

Have eaten in a few times and the place is variable.Ordered a delivery tonight. It arrived 40 mins after latest estimate and after a couple of calls promising it was 'on its way.' Food was distinctly average and barely warm.Lots of better options locally more deserving of your patronage

Terrible delivery service. Used a few times and promised delivery takes 2 hours over promised time. Not able to contact by phone as they dont answer when they have a backlog. No contact to advise on late delivery. No apology. Better to go elsewhere

Reservamos la mesa y estaba lista para nosotros cuando llegamos, el personal no se sintió particularmente interesado, no fue grosero pero tampoco demasiado educado. No me sentí completamente bienvenido, y esto fue constante durante toda la noche. Estábamos bien atendidos y no tuvimos que esperar demasiado para las bebidas, los poppadom estaban un poco rancios. Pero la comida era excelente, llegó en un tiempo razonable considerando lo ocupados que estaban. Una desventaja es que se sentía bastante cerca de la mesa de al lado, lo cual no fue muy bueno considerando el covid y nos hizo sentir un poco incómodos. No hay desinfectante de manos a la llegada, pero ALGUNOS menús eran menús para llevar, por lo que asumimos que se tiraron y otros se limpiaron. La seguridad de Covid se sintió un poco como un gesto simbólico, ya que hicieron un esfuerzo mínimo. En general, la comida era muy buena y volveríamos, pero sería bueno sentirse más bienvenido y también que se tomaran a Covid más en serio.

Revisé este restaurante muy positivamente a principios de año, pero lamentablemente no fue la misma experiencia hoy. Había reservado una mesa para 7. 30 con confirmación por correo electrónico, pero lo habían escrito para 8. 30. Esperamos unos 10 minutos por una mesa que no fue un problema.El personal llevaba máscaras, pero alrededor de la barbilla en lugar de sobre la nariz o la boca, con la excepción de la mujer del personal. Deben usarlos correctamente o no usarlos en absoluto. Las mesas estaban muy juntas sin distanciamiento social. Estábamos a menos de 1 m de la mesa de al lado.Tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para pedir bebidas y luego otra larga espera para pedir comida. La comida tardó una hora en llegar y eso fue después de perseguirla. Takeaway ordered for delivery last week via Uber eats this week ordered direct. Delivery estimate is 1 hour but on both occasions have had to chase it up after 90 minutes. Food is great but won’t order again

Chose from the set menu, excellent value, fresh and tasty dishes, really enjoyed the meal. We will definitely be returning.

We had an excellent meal here on Thursday night. It was one of the only restaurants in Orpington that seemed busy which is always a good sign. The value for money Mon-Thurs is unbeatable. Food was very tasty (including for one vegetarian) and the service was friendly.

Had an excellent midweek meal here. The food is freshly cooked, the naans not reheated, so you may have to wait a little longer. Worth it though. Good selection of curry and accompaniments Portions were generous and service was attentive and pleasant. Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on a busy Sat night. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was slower than you would hope for but it was busy so understandable. The waiting staff were friendly and we were offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal which was a lovely gesture especially as were not regulars. We will definitely be returning as we were very impressed with everything we experienced.

We've been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. One of the best curry houses in the area, reasonably priced and great service. And we've now probably tried most dishes on the menu! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Cuando dimos nuestra orden, pedimos que el tandoori de cordero no tuviera especias. En pocas palabras, el plato llegó picante, cambiamos el plato a un korma, pero mi esposo ya había tenido 2 viajes al baño para estar enfermo. La noche estaba arruinada. Sentí que un restaurante decente tomaría la cuenta y la destrozaría y se disculpó, pero nada de eso. ¿Aunque les pedí que me quitaran el cargo del servicio porque no estaba contento y mi esposo tampoco? We visited here New Year’s Eve. Yes it was NYE, but our booking was for 7.30. Our starters arrived at 10pm, that should have given us a warning! Food was cold, service terrible, it wasn’t even full on the night. Can’t believe how terrible it was, had many great evenings here, will never visit again. Home for toast and marmite. Gutted. And disgusted.

This used to be a great restaurant, now it’s just OK. The dining experience was spoiled by having the space laid out with tabled close together around the walls whilst there was open space in the middle of the floor. Sitting about a foot from the adjoining table just ruined any chance of a private conversation.The food used to be excellent, but returning to the town after a few years it now seems average and lacking subtlety in the flavours.

Pleasant restaurant, very friendly service. Excellent portions and very tasty Indian food. Good menu with all you would expect from Indian cuisine, plus some specialities. I don’t live locally, but if I did I would come again. Recommended. Thank you for a very enjoyable meal.

We visited last night for the first time in many years and were rather underwhelmed by the quality of the food. The staff were pleasant and accommodating and responded well to our requests. For example one of our party is a vegetarian, and there were no veggy mains on the menu. She requested a starter as a main and was presented with a beautiful looking plate of stuffed aubergine, which was very nice indeed. But all the other items of our meal were well below standard, the onions not having been cooked enough and garlic being the main very discernible flavour. My friend commented that this was the worst onion bahjee ever. My meal included little chicken and loads of garlic flavoured spinach, when the menu stated that there would be traces of spinach. My husband was rather disappointed with the Rogan Gost, as the sauce was uninspired. On the plus side, the stuffed paratha and the popadoms were nice and the beer cheap.

Been many times but on this occasion a large hair was in my chicken curry long clearly marinated in I had to pull it out of chicken made me feel very sick we reported it he cleared the hair in question apologised and took 7.00 of bill will not be going back the house wine is terrible as well

The service was poor. The food is not the good quality it used to be. There was one particular waiter who was loud and rude! Where is the boss that used to run this restaurant? We definitely won't be returning. Remember there is a lot of competition out there!

We were pleased to be seated fairly quickly on a busy Friday night. The servers were attentive and polite, and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed without being overly informal. We only ordered two main dishes (lamb and chicken, can't remember the specific names now), and a side vegetable dish (saag paneer), as well as rice and naan. I appreciated the variety of smaller vegetable portions available; if we visit again we might order several of those in lieu of second meat dish. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, to my taste. The mains were not very spicy/hot so if you prefer your curry with more chili, you may need to ask specifically (I might do this if I go again). Overall, it was a great dinner out in Orpington.

What more do you want? Chicken dansak was great, atmosphere was good and music was nice in the background, unlike other places.

This Indian restaurant offers consistently good service with polite and attentive staff. There is an extensive menu and I have always found the food to be tasty and well presented. Well worth a visit

Fuimos a almorzar ya que mi marido quería comer comida india. Cuando entramos, no había nadie alrededor. Teníamos que ir a buscarlos. La persona que vino a servirnos parecía como si acabara de despertarse. Estaba tan sucio y tan mal, que quería vomitar. Creo que no se ducha.

En primer lugar, lo positivo: la comida era excelente y para nuestra mesa de cuatro, la factura total tenía un precio razonable. El menú era variado, desde platos anglicistas hasta especialidades de restaurantes. Me gustó especialmente la variedad de platos de arroz que se ofrecen.

We went here last night. The food was ok but the service was abominable. From the minute we arrived at 2145, they were rushing us. The staff couldnt wait to close at 2300, even though we hadnt finished our drinks. Wouldnt go again.

Gluten intolerant bent over back wards for me, all staff attentive and welcoming, complimentary drinks for 6 people, had amazing food definately be back.

had a meal for 6 here with wine and the cost was much lower than expected, the meal was lovely and in good quantity, it wasn't the BEST I ever had, but it was decent and particularly when balanced with the low cost. The surroundings were clean, neat and tidy and the staff attentive and sociable.

We visited SP last night. I have to admit it was my dad’s first curry ever. We went for banquet night (they offer it Monday-Thursday for £14.50 per person). We’ve received great amount of food which was really tasty & fresh. The waiting time was decent & we had no issues at all.The staff is friendly enough. My dad loved the Indian cuisine & I am sure we will be back.

Visited Shimla Pink last night with family and had a brilliant curry. My girlfriend is coeliac so finding suitable restaurants is sometimes tricky. We phoned ahead and the restaurant assured we would be ok on the night with gluten free options. The manager took our order and knew the restaurant’s menu / ingredients inside out and we could have exactly what we wanted. We actually shared our food for the first time which made the meal even more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the near future and gets a suitably justified 5 star rating!

We order their take away regularly but nothing beats sitting in the restaurant... had originally gone elsewhere to a new place in the high street but having waited over 15 minutes to be served we decided to go to our old faithful place where we knew we'd get a table and good service!

By far the best curry in orpington. I've personally known the manager from three different restaurants. Where he goes I'll follow. Can't get enough! Plenty of food. Mouth watering flavours. A must try!

Banquet meal for two. The restaurant was not busy on our arrival the manager appeared abrupt and load, seated to the rear of the restaurant. Incredible long wait for food and drink, heard manager shouting at kitchen staff when he entered every time. I called him over and told him I was going to leave and asked for the bill before the main course. He told me it was just coming. My guest's dish was definitely not what we ordered and my chicken shashlik was raw in the middle of the pieces, which I unfortunately only noticed after eating a few. I AM NOW ILL. The manager was rude and condescending NEVER AGAIN

As a businessman who spends most of his life in hotels, it is a very welcome relief to find a gem of a restaurant that serves first class cuisine with just as great service. Thanks team for the experience.

Went on a Friday night, Restaurant was busy but service was still good. there was 4 of us and we spent a lot of money but really enjoyed the food and felt like it was good value. Would go back again.

Arrived just on the cusp of closing and whilst the service appeared distracted with end of day tasks, the food arrived quickly and was on point.

Regularly go to Shimla since it's opened so quite a few years now. Always delicious food, great service and very friendly team. Great for all sorts of occasions, whether you want to grab a meal for two or enjoy good food with a bigger crowd on a night out. Also, best takeaways in the area if you want to enjoy your food at home. Always speedy delivery and good quality, reasonably priced food.

Often visit here and never seems to fails. We like to try different dishes each time we visit and are never disappointed. Service is brilliant and the young lady who was new this week was a little ray of sunshine, she seemed nervous at first but was more confident by the end of our meal. Reasonably priced, especially the banquet nice. Offered a drink on the house when we had paid our bill which is a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Sat down around 9 pm yesterday and between 2 of us had 2 great curry dishes, 3 sides, naan and large beers following papadums etc for £20 a head. The Chicken Tikka Special and Garlic Chilli Chicken are excellent and Bombay Potatoes were very good. Great consistently reliable place

We visited to try the Sunday buffet. The food was delicious. They continually topped up the buffet. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I particularly enjoyed the chicken tikka Marsala. We will return!

Take-away - Promised to deliver within a hour, but eventually took over an hour and a half to turn up on a Saturday night. Starters stone cold with really tough chicken. Mains vaguely warm and tasty but some of the chicken so tough it was inedible.

I was struggling with a "nearly cold" after a flu jab and went in here for their hottest curry to blast the symptoms away.

Haven't been here for a while but went as a anniversary treat. In the past we have raved over the food. There was 5 of us and our food was bought out at different times and the sides were cold and food not very hot. The butterfly starter was ok and the Tandoori chicken starter was very white and tasteless. The mixed grill was rubbery. All in all we were very disappointed as it was a a special occasion.

First time I have been to Simla Pink and found the food to be warm and the masala very weak in taste. Will definitely not be going again.

Came here on a sunday evening - very quiet but got a little busier as the evening went on. Food was beautifully presented and very tasty and the waiters couldn't do enough. Only downsides were it was a little on the pricey side (£28 each for main, drink and 2 sides) and I felt a bit like they were pushing for more sales such as trying to interest us in another bottle of wine or something from the desserts menu.

We selected to have the £14.50 banquet meal which included poppudom , starter main course , side and rice or naan. The menu has a really wide selection and all were very good portions. The waiters were friendly and attentive and service was excellent. Despite being midweek the restaurant was doing a good trade. Our total bill, which included a large glass of wine and a pint and a half of Kingfisher plus one dessert totalled £47, this included a tip. A really good meal

I usually order from Cardamon in Petts wood but thought I would try Shimla Pink. All the food when it arrived was like warm and swimming in oil, the Bombay potatoes were so oil soaked they just looked like mush. The chicken tikka special which is meant to be medium hot had no flavour and was as hot as a Korma?! The pitta was cold and hardly any coconut in it. Really disappointed, won't order from here again. My partners meal was the same... bland and cold!

We arrived here on a Monday evening and opted for the £14.50 menu which offered very wide choices. I chose a chicken starter, preceded by popadom , then Prawn Sagwala and cauliflower bargi . The Goan lamb was not marked with chilli but on the upper range of warm! Delicious none the less. Along with a pint of Cobra, two glasses of wine, a floater coffee and Indian ice cream the bill came to £50 inclusive of tip.A lovely meal and great staff

We visit this restaurant on a regular basis and have deliveries at least two or three times a month. We have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding and very generous in quantity. All the staff are very friendly without being over the top and the Sauvignon is one of the best house whites I have ever tasted. All the food is beautifully prepared and presented with the Shimla house specials being particularly outstanding.

We met friends that travelled up from Rochester and met them in Orpington.The restaurant was very busy and i think almost full.We had drinks and poppadoms followed by starters, all of which were quite nice.I ordered a chicken sashlick as its my favourite and is what i usually order at every Indian restaurant we dine in. I cut into the first piece of chicken and it was seared on the outside but completely raw in the middle (at least 80% of the meat was uncooked). I immediately told the waiter and to be fair they did say that they would cook me another meal, i declined as our friends were already eating and i had lost my appetite (wasn't sure how long id be waiting for another meal or if it would be just reheated again) and it had just put me off. When it came to paying the bill they naturally knocked it off the bill but my impression was that they weren't overly concerned about the matter, i think a little more could have been done to smooth it over.Its a shame, i have been there before with my son who lives in Orpington (mid week) and it was better.Ive told him and he said that he and his mates won't be dining there again, it used to be a once a month meet up for them to have a few beers and curry.I don't think we will be going again either, so many Indian restaurants to choose from so may as well try somewhere else.

Just to say we visit this restaurant quite regularly and to date have never had a bad meal here. The Tandoori King Prawns are cooked just as we like them, the aloo gobi and Tarka Dhal don't fail either. The amount of meat in the Chicken dishes and the number of Prawns in the King Prawn Madras are also memorable.....Always the offer of a drink on the house, all in all excellent value.....See you again soon.

Myself & my wife have been going to this restaurant for 7 years since it opened & I can say it's one of the best, if not the best Indian restaurant. It's been known for me to come here 4 nights on the go, because the food & staff are exemplary. Keep up the good work chaps.

I have eaten at Shimla Pink many times and have always had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes, including many fabulous ' house specials'. The food is served in generous portions and is well prepared and presented perfectly. The owner and staff are very welcoming and highly attentive, working hard to ensure their customers enjoy a comfortable and relaxed dining experience. This restaurant offers great value in terms of price when considering the high standards of quality and service. I would highly recommend.

Food is acceptable especially for the price but not the best curry I've ever had. Restaurant has a good atmosphere and usually fairly busy and service generally good. So if you fancy a curry at a reasonable price with good service then you can't go far wrong here

We eat here every month so I'd say that's the best recommendation you can give a place. Good varied menu and the service is always fabulous. Usually get a drink on the house to top it off. Very nice local indian and reasonably priced
