Sherburn aero club in Selby

Shocked beyond belief of how standards can plummet from the last time we dined here. In a nutshell: poor selection on the menu. We chose a cheeseburger in the absence of anything else hot that seemed appropriate. The drinks were delivered as cans without tumblers. The tables weren't wiped. We waited for 30minutes, no food on the horizon (not busy as we saw one order delivered in that time). When politely mentioned it mysteriously appeared 5 minutes later virtually uncooked, pale insipid bargain basement carpet-burgers. Less than luke warm. The cheese hadn't even begun to melt next to the burger. The 'meal' was advertised coming with a salad and chips. The salad was two wafer thin slices of tomato and less than an eggcupful of bland lettuce under the burger making the bread wet. We were given a lecture by the server who we questioned about the absence of our order. She went to great lengths to explain that all the food was made in-house fresh each day and was of the highest quality. And that they were at the top of their game with respect to hygiene and food safety. Difficult to swallow from the evidence presented to us. The only decent thing that server did was to offer up the cost of part of the burger meal, presumably knocking off the price of the chips. We certainly will never return. And would recommend the cafe just down the road as they cooked their food. Yours A sadly disappointed and disgusted customer.

Great place, good food and a nice play area. Plus you can watch the planes. Kids loved it. Good staff!

Abysmal service today Sunday, poor quality food, no staff long queues, blamed it on Staff had to go home. Lots of unhappy people sure not to come back to the club, stopped selling food at noon. shame as this cafe should be a reason to eat at the club. To top it off sandwich was burnt. Arrh.

Ordered a cheese sandwich. Pretty basic request. It took nearly 45 minutes to arrive when I asked the lady who was bringing out food how long it was going to be after waiting 40 mins as I was booked out to fly in 10.mins time, she looked at me as if I had just asked something quite rude. The sandwich then came out with no cutlery and slammed on my table with a terrible attitude and she marched off. There were several customers waiting for ages for food and complaining. I would recommend pre making some sandwiches to have on hand for busy times to alleviate customer complaints and give people the option of having a pre made sandwich who dont have mountains of time to waste for a basic lunch. Its sandwiches and coffees, it should be a profitable breeze and not a stress show. The other members of staff seemed ok, but the middle aged woman is rude. Wont return....

It wasn’t a very good day today for this restaurant, every table was full of used cutlery plates spoons cups etc. We were allocated a table and asked for the table to be cleaned as it was full of the previous persons plates etc and the table was very dirty, we were told NO when our food arrived I think the person who served as was very rude never experienced this before here. How can any one serve you food on the table with the previous peoples dishes all over the table I think it’s out of order. It’s quite obvious they couldn’t cope today

I had a full English breakfast at the Sherburn aero club and it was excellent , really well cooked and to a good standard

Working in the area on a project I was informed that food is available at the club. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very good menu (hot food until 15:00) and at very competitive prices. On my three further visits I have not even looked for an alternative as I really like the atmosphere there. All staff are very friendly and during the fine weather in July and August have taken advantage of being able to eat outside where I've had chats with some of the members and instructors again all very friendly and welcoming. There's a few parts left to complete on the project and I hope that I get the chance to spin around for my sustenance

Great place to eat and watch the helicopters and planes. The food is really good and cheap. The staff are lovely.
