Cosy and rustic interior, looks good for a Sunday roast. We stood outside for pints on a clear day which was lovely, as the road is generally free of traffic. Service was efficient and the German beers shake up the usual choice of taps. Avoid walking down the road to the Nag’s Head if you’re on a pub crawl, and head on to the Grenadier once you’re done.

We stopped here for lunch when we were walking by and the chef was out front taking a break and told us it was the best restaurant in town. He was not kidding! We had oysters, lobster rolls, and the truffle fries. Everything was amazing. The service was fantastic, and the chef even came down and brought us a snack as we were sitting here with extra drinks waiting for our hotel room to be ready. We would highly recommend coming here for a meal or just a drink.

We ate here for lunch before a concert which was pleasant enough although trying to attract the staff’s attention was somewhat challenging. We returned after the concert and ordered 2 glasses of champagne but instead the barman served us 2 half glasses of champagne because he couldn’t be bothered to open a fresh bottle. When we asked him to top them up he just shrugged at us and said ‘this is London’ as though that was remotely relevant. Even other people behind the bar could see that he was ripping us off and asked him to pour us the full glasses we had ordered. All to no avail. The menu clearly states that champagne is sold in measures of 125 ml, so as this pub is serving short measures I will be reporting it to Trading Standards.

Friendly staff, but the food is terrible. If you're going to charge nearly £20 for a burger it needs to be significantly better than something you could buy in McDonald's or Burger King that costs three times less! Fish and chips - overcooked with oily, lumpy batter. Any takeaway fish and chip shop would do better and charge half the price. They have delusions of being a Gastro pub - definitely NOT! Go to Macdonald's, Burger King or a fish and chip shop.. you'll get better food and pay an awful lot less.

Sunday lunch. The spectacularly frosty welcome and the chap on the next table complaining about the fatty beef were the warning signs we didn’t heed. We could kick ourselves we did not leave immediately. Service was non-existent and clearly the same level of care permeates the kitchen. The slow roasted lamb was more fat than meat. Potatoes seemed suspiciously packet sourced and the Yorkshire pudding was inedibly soggy. That my wife and I left most of our plates did not make the server the least bit inquisitive. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Complaining would have delayed our exit and we could not leave quickly enough.

I couldn’t wait to leave. Yup, mostly reviews on TA but don’t expect any kind of friendly attention or service. I wouldn’t normally write a review that wasn’t good but the experience just made me angry. It was a special evening spent with our friends from Iceland and this place did not help one bit. The staff, of which there seemed to be quite a few just weren’t interested. Have you ever had it where they try hard to avoid your eyes? Hoping to order after what seemed an age, the “busy doing nothing” staff seemed to be indifferent zombies to us. I eventually went up to the bar and the barmaid said someone would come and take our order. Queue more scenes from Wold War Z. In the end, we did manage to get an order in and the food was average even though it was priced at a premium. It just seemed like they were doing us a favour so we ate and left disappointed. Credit where it’s due though, the chunky chips were really good!

Highly recommend this place for Sunday roast! I took my international friends here to have their first Sunday roast experience and they loved it. I really enjoyed my haddock and chips, and then our brownie ice-cream for dessert - everything was done to perfection. Lovely relaxed and cozy atmosphere although it does get very busy peak lunch (as expected!), nice drinks, great staff.

Went here with 9 friends to watch a tribute act. Have to say he was excellent, the food on the other hand, not quite so good. It was a set menu, so opted for black pudding to start. This dish was served with peppercorn sauce, not a good combination and over powering. The main course I chose chicken tikka, another bad choice, I had to leave all the chicken and just eat the rice and tikka sauce as the chicken was tough. I did complain about it but just got'ok'. The dessert was tiramisu. It was gorgeous, generous size piece and tasted lovely. 1 or of 3!

I visited this site last week, i spome to the bar staff regarding booking a function for an event, the staff were very friendly and i had some grwat conversation with them in regards to this hidden gem of a venue, the manger was rarely in the building as he kept going in and out of the building but when he did step behind the bar he seemed a little tired as he continued to pour lager into bitter glassware and kept receiving complaints, understandable in small bars like this glassware can run low and these issues happen, i mentioned to the gentleman complaining that it wasnt the beer that was flat bit just the wring glassware, i was met with a hostile "would you shut the f**k up" by the general manager, i apologised to him if i had upset him in some way, to wich he responded with "just f**k off outa here would ya" i was shocked to have been met with such hostility, for that reason i wont be perusing my function booking. This is a great shame. The beer was reasonably priced but bowl of cheesy chips took 30minutes, slow considering i was the only person eating and there were only 12 customers drinking. I think with the right leadership and a tasteful refurbishment this venue could be a real london gem.

Nunca volveremos.

If you are looking for a drink in a reasonably quaint pub in a quiet mews in Belgravia then this is your place however we absolutely do not recommend you go here to eat. In short; if you fancy a trip back to 1980s lard-ridden fodder then, again, this is your place. It also seems that the landlord is unnecessarily rude towards patrons (and we are trying to write this politely!) Having witnessed two fairly significant incidents we really struggled to understand why he spoke in the way he did and have, consequently, decided that it will no longer be on our list of places to visit when we are in London.

A mews street forgotten by time and the developers. Charming mews cottages, little shops, even smaller mews cul-de-sacs, and two traditional pubs. The Wilton after its cottagey flower bedecked exterior is inside a large, long suburban style lounge bar and there's nothing wrong with that, after the slight surprise. The service is attentive, friendly and very efficient. The food was fine, Guinness steak pie and home cooked lasagne were very good, and generous. It was only when we needed something an equally English pub dessert to round off the typical English pub main fare that we received the shock of, ' No, we don't serve any desserts at all, there's too little demand.' Maybe, but most others manage it and this eccentric gastric brick wall left us and our Swiss guests quite unsatisfied and very disappointed. So we left and made for Harrods to satisfy our sweet teeth. Sticky toffee pudding anybody?

Back in Knightsbridge for the same errand (see Grenadier last week) I was at a loose end for an hour or so and explored the little alleys and mews streets behind Harvey Nicholls. Passed the Nag's Head (looked wonderful, but very small and very crowded) and realised I was ready for a quiet pint. A hundred yards further on, the much bigger Wilton Arms was certainly quiet and certainly welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and excellent Shepherd Neame beer. And there were bookshelves! Rather ancient tomes and nothing really hooked me but it's becoming really important to remember that sometimes all you want is warm pub, a decent pint and a book. Doesn't look as though much has changed here for a good while and I was probably lucky to catch the pub at a quiet moment as it was beginning to fill up before I left. I looked at the menu for future reference and noticed the usual burger/fish and chips fare. (The website promises a more adventurous menu.)Obviously things hot up here later as a part of the pub was being prepared for a private party. But on a dark December afternoon for a rather vacant hour in one's life, peace and quiet was all one could have wished for.

We met friends here for pre-dinner drinks. As soon as we walked in we liked it very much. It had a friendly atmosphere and felt very comfortable to be in. It was populated by affluent and suited people in for a drink after work on a Friday night, with a few obvious local regulars. It was busy but well staffed and prices around the same as we would pay in our local in Woodford. It looked liked a smallish pub at first as the bar itself is not big, but there was plenty of seating toward the back of the pub, and it had a conservatory too. Although we didn't sample the food, the black boarded menu looked very tasty. I would highly recommend this as not just a meeting place, but could see myself and friends settling in for a night here, and about 5 minutes from Hyde park station.

I visited this pub on Sunday evening (29th June) with a friend having attended a BBC concert at St. Paul's Church nearby. The two bar men were arrogant and 'off-hand' in how they spoke to me regarding a bag which I discovered had been left under our table by the previous occupants . Rather than thanking me for handing the bag in, one of the bar men from behind the bar shouted at me over the heads of other customers accusing us of sitting at a table which he claimed had not been vacated by its previous occupants ( the latter had seen us sit down as they exited the pub) Ten minutes later the owner of the bag came back into the pub and asked us if we had found a bag. He thanked us profusely for handing the bag to the bar staff. Some customer care training is needed for these two bar tenders; based on my experience, they clearly do not know how to address people in a civil manner.

We stumbled upon this pub on a cold afternoon in December and settled down for a few drinks. We decided to order some food in this comfy friendly pub with lively staff. The menu was not very extensive and consisted mainly of sandwiches, a small range of traditional hot dishes and burgers. This would not normally be an issue but we had a vegetarian with us and all they could offer was a cheese sandwich or cheese ploughman's. Anyway we ordered. When our food arrived the chicken burger was small and looked like something that McDonalds wouldn't even serve up. The chips were under done, soggy and colourless. My own toastie was incredibly unappetising and came presented without a granish just as a slab of greyish brown coloured bread. It was a terribly unappetising poorly cooked, low quality ingredients meal. My previous experience of Shepherd & Neame pub food has always been very positive. Reading other reviews our experience does seem inconsistent with other reviews so I can only conclude that the chef was not present. We paid a fair amount for sub standard food that even my local greasy spoon wouldnt serve up!

Prior to my comments, I must admit some bias in this review. I have been coming to this pub for 20+ years when I have been in London on business or pleasure. As a creature of habit, I have stayed at the same Knightsbridge hotel for many years. This pub is just around the corner so it became "my" pub in London. Over the years, I have gotten to know and become friends with both the proprietor and his wife. This pub is a great neighborhood pub that has had many "regulars" over the years. Because of my numerous visits, I became a "regular" at some point. As a result, I tend to sit with the "regulars" when I am there. It is a great place to drink a pint and visit with other people. In that way, it harkens back to the pubs of yesteryear when a pub was a neighborhood hangout. I like the comfortable feeling of the Wilton Arms when I am there. For sports lovers, the Wilton Arms has two flat screens that are showing the latest cricket, golf, rugby, etc. tournaments. The volume is kept way down or off so it is not intrusive to those who don't want to watch. In the summer months, the flowers on the exterior of the pub are beautiful. The crowd (getting younger or me getting older?) spill out on the sidewalk in front of the pub and it is quite pleasant to stand out there with your pint and visit with others. Okay, the food may not be top end, but this is much more of a pub than a restaurant. Having said that, I have had some good "pub grub" (fish and chips, burger and chips, etc.) over the years with no complaints. For me, I just like "hanging out" at the Wilton Arms. I have met some very interesting people at the Wilton Arms over the years. I suggest you enjoy your pint and strike up an interesting conversation while you are there!

Found this lovely looking pub while attending a concert at nearby St. Pauls church. Although the exterior of the pub is very inviting the interior is very tired and dated. It is a Shepherd Neame owned pub so I was expecting a good selection of their bottled beers, but unfortunately they didn't have any, although they did have a couple of draught beers. I opted for a pint of draught San Miguel instead, but was suprised when the bill came to find it was £4.40p a pint. My wife and I decided to have a meal from the Specials Board. We both chose the Shepherds Pie, which when they came were very small portions of Shepherds Pie accompanied by chips and very watery mushy peas! No fresh vegetables in sight. The price of this food was not on the Specials Board, but we were in fact charged £8.50p each, which was too expensive. My wife ordered a Cappuccino but was told the coffee machine was broken, so she had to have an instant coffee in a mug with a jug of hot water. Although all the staff were very polite, courteous and friendly the pub needs a complete refurbishment and a new menu with better quality food on it.

We had probably...no definitely.... the worst lunch in history at this pub today! It really was like being back at the Winchester Club from the TV series Minder. I was looking around to see if Dennis Waterman was quaffing a pint with George Cole at the bar. My colleague opted for a Chicken Burger which looked like it had been stolen off a school kid's plate and my Beef Sandwich had that dark, processed and slightly sweaty meat that used to turn up at roadside cafes off the A1 on the way to away matches. To round it off, the coffee tasted like it had been made with gravel. The decor is also from the 1970s, so clearly the gastro-pub revolution has passed by this aged watering hole. A great pity as it is in one of the most delightful mews in (possibly) the wealthiest area of any European city. What a turnaround opportunity!! 'I could be so good for you...'

I went to Pavilion Road to meet a girlfriend for coffee, a love sunny day so a lot of places were busy, however all of the outside tables at Ottolenghi were free. I went in and ordered two coffees from a rather surly and indifferent girl and said we’d be outside, we were then approached by a somewhat officious waitress who said you had to pay a service charge to sit at the outside tables, bearing in mind this was 10h30 and didn’t want to eat, plus all the tables were empty. She rattled on making no sense at all by which time our coffees arrived. She had by then disappeared, so we drank our insipid and tepid coffees and cleared off a few doors down to the more welcoming Bread Ahead. Come on Ottolonghi, treating locals with contempt? You’re not a Michelin starred restaurant but a deli, stop sitting on your laurels and sort out your appalling staff!

I've come here a couple of times. Very good place to eat and drink. My soya chai latte was amazing. My sister had orange juice there.

Very helpful and very educated in whiskey. Tasted some new Irish and Scotch Whiskey, sampled a bourbon I was curious about, and bought a whiskey that came recommended. Met some lovely people. A fantastic little place to sample some of the best whiskey from around the world.

Nice and reasonably priced, like all Wetherspoon pubs. The food isn't great, but it's okay for the price. You can also order and pay via the app and everything will then be brought to the table
