Dropped in last week during a walk. Nice sausage sarnie and a coffee. Decided a revisit today Sunday 12th march during a bike ride. Not open. I suppose it could be for many reasons such as illness, but it was still a pain as this was a planned refuel stop.

Unable to resist the aroma of frying onions, I ate a cheeseburger at this small, friendly café and it was very tasty indeed. Most of the items on ffer are of this kind - burgers, hotdogs etc. but there are also cakes, biscuits, ice-cream and milkshake. The prices are very reasonable and you can sit out on the platform, watching steam trains come and go. Recommended.

Situated on the platform of the station. A great little cafe, with lovely, friendly staff, a very good choice of food and drink options, which are excellent value for money. The bacon cobs are scrummy! Will go again.

Lovely little café on the station at Shenton, a lovely place to stop of for drinks and food whilst walking around the Bosworth Battlefield route. Kind friendly staff and great prices. The additional benefit is you can watch steam trains pulling in and out of the station whilst you relax and enjoy the ambiance of an historic station site. Well worth a visit

My brother and I were walking the Bosworth trail and happened upon this cafe. Both being vegan we were planning on just grabbing a drink. However, there are 4 vegan options and vegan magnums on offer! More than you get at most pubs! We opted for the sausage roll which was massive and tasty with vegan mayo and butter! Great value for money and wonderful service thank you very much, we will be back :)

Welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. Had a reviving cup of tea and took in the quality memorabilia and railwayania which decorate this little tea room. Staff make this place. Perfect break on a cycling route, big thanks too for helping me out when I hadn’t got the right cash!

Walked from Bosworth field site to Railway area to see steam trains brilliant, as it was late morning we were just having drinks but the smell of bacon was so enticing an order for bacon butties followed. Run by volunteers you need to be patient but will be rewarded by freshly cooked bacon/sausages. Lots of people calling in for eats very busy and train came in too added bonus.

Lovely cafe at the station for the steam railway. Nice walk to Bosworth battlefield centre or along the old railway line which is now a flat footpath.

A train station café. Not a Michelin Star venue, just a very welcome stop 1/2 way round our walk. Reasonable prices - they sell hot and cold drinks, ice-creams, sweets and hot snacks. In the same building is an art and crafts shop, with some lovely blown glass items for sale. A few old style tables and chairs inside, but some railway benches outside also. Our warm sausage rolls did take quite a while to emerge - so if you are in a hurry, pick something else.

This is a great little café, run by volunteers. As such it is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. It is well worth a visit, they do an excellent coffee and bacon bap for about £3.10, great value.

The sign outside looks promising, even the menu on the window does too but going inside it doesn’t look like it could produce even the simplest food so we just have a coffee that was like an instant variety. Maybe in the summer and when the trains are running perhaps it’s better then. On out visit there was just a lady in the tiny shop which had two tables inside. In what must have been the old waiting room was a glass maker, furnace and equipment for blowing glass. She had some really lovely pieces for sale, worth a look.

The cafe in the wonderfully preserved Shenton Station is the perfect place for a bite to eat during a walk or cycle ride. Excellent value for money too with a bacon roll for only £2!

This is a regular stop. Outside seating is lovely on a sunny day, especially when the trains are running. The glassblower works next door and is mesmerising - there is always a fascinated crowd. inside the cafe is small with a couple of tables that are warm on a winter's day.The cafe is dog friendly and run by volunteers to support the steam railway. Lots of walking nearby with a good circuit up to the Bosworth battlefield and back along the canal. The bacon rolls are highly recommended by both me and the dog!

Fabulous find, never realised it was here until today. Cheap and cheerful and at least half the price of another eaterie on this walk (as well as more food for your money!). Dog-friendly but we chose to sit outside to make the most of the sunshine. Two bacon butties and two sausage butties (or cobs in Leics!) - asked how we wanted the bacon cooked and done to perfection! Lady serving apologised for the time taken to prepare - she was a person down - but it wasn't a problem. Great parking across the rail tracks, lovely and quiet, plenty of seating - could even sit on the platform if we had wanted to. Quirky inside and an art gallery / studio as well. Our new refreshment stop!

After a walk on a cold windy day, a lovely cup of tea at the cosy station cafe was much appreciated. Hats off to all the volunteers who give up their time to provide this service and support the Battlefield Railway.

Well! come on it's a station cafe and a fine one for all that. Oysters and Caviar you do not get but a nice cup of tea and a fair selection of cakes and suchlike. Should the sun be shining there is a sweet bit of outdoor seating where you can watch the occasional train come and go and spot the Trainspotters.

Expected a lot better, from the reviews online. Mediocre at best. Bland and small quantity of ingredients inside our batches. (I’ve noticed this a lot this neck of the woods, places have much better reviews than their food! )

I really can’t believe that it’s taken me this long to do a review of The Clarence. This astounding cafe/bar was a surprisingly late find for us; we didn’t go in for quite a long time, and in hindsight, this was a huge mistake because it’s amazing. The venue is perfect with a large outside seating area, while the inside has a mixture of comfy seats, tables and booths. It’s spacious but also feels cosy and the decor and lighting are trendy without being pretentious. Because it’s an old bank, they have retained the original vault, which can be reserved for small group events and is very cool. It’s already on my shortlist of places to hide out in the event of a zombie apocalypse! The Clarence does a wide variety of drinks including a varied range of excellent cocktails. There is a fancy drink to cater to everyone’s taste and they are all made with love by their wonderful staff, their 2 for £14 cocktail deal is a bargain for drinks of such quality. They have a great selection of beers and wines, and if you are so inclined, you can also purchase hot or cold soft drinks! Their coffee and cake deal deserves a special mention, at only £5 it’s probably the best deal of this kind in Hinckley, I’m obsessed with cakes and brownies, and their selection is exceptional and at this price it’s great for the bank balance - however, slightly less kind on the waistline. The Clarence are partners with Pane & Gusto. Run by two of the most wonderful human beings that you will ever meet who will cook you authentic and super tasty Italian food to order. This is food cooked with love, and you can literally taste it! Food of this quality would be selling for triple the price in London & it’s exceptional quality. I often just ask to be ‘surprised’ and I have never been disappointed with what I have received. Highly recommended food. The Clarence also hosts regular live events including pizza making, live music, bottomless brunches, drag bingo & movie nights. We’re really spoiled for choice, and every event we’ve been to has been brilliant with a buzzing, friendly atmosphere. A venue would be nothing without the people who run it, and The Clarence is exceptionally well catered for here. It’s starts from the top: the amazing Lisa sets the tone - she’s just fantastic and so welcoming, making everyone who visits feel like a superstar. You can tell she genuinely loves The Clarence, it’s staff and all of its patrons. Every single member of the Clarence team that I have had interactions with are wonderful, they make it a pleasure to visit every single time. It’s like a wonderful family where everyone gets on and is having a fantastic time! I might have been late to The Clarence wagon train, which was a mistake on my part, so if you have yet to visit, please do and become part of The Clarence family!
