Excellent service and good food, I had a pitta with smoked salmon and cream cheese, it tasted lovely. With that I had a cappuccino that was great as well, I appreciate that they asked if I wanted chocolate on top but what I want is espresso&milk. (It was just a couple of degrees to hot and not exactly the taste I wish for but that is just my personal preference and really not judgeable since it might be perfect for someone else, thus the 4 instead of 5) All in all a great place for a breakfast and I would definitely go there agan.

I cannot praise this place enough. Exceptionally tasty and fresh, mouth watering food and exemplary service from extremely nice people; The people who own and run the place, have done so for many years - always smiling and happy and warm and could not accommodate each customer more if they tried. Exceptional value for money as well and more choice than I have ever seen in a bakery. I have stopped working in the area now, but I am hoping to come back to Borehamwood and would have no hesitation in treating myself to a delicious, good value lunch every day. All the years I visited here, and not once did I have anything to complain about. Just amazing - what more can one say.

I visted this morning and bought a feta and spinach pastry and the price was clearly £3.50 and the stupid lady charged me £4.00 - you should be ashamed of yourself. You mentioned you were fasting well - you are a terrible muslim!! Avoid like a plague

This is my favourite lunch venue in the area so I chose Sue to cater a Memorial Day I was arranging. The catering menu is immense and well structured. Her attention to detail, quality and freshness of food, price point and communication was 5 star. I cannot recommend highly enough. Everyone remarked on the display.

I've discovered this sandwich bar since I started working from home long term this year. I call in regularly at lunchtimes for the freshly-made baguettes which I can certainly recommend.

I ordered the food for my Mum's wake. So very important that the food was good, delivered on time. Zoulikha talked me through what we wanted, amended sandwiches fillings for our needs. Food was well presented, delicious. Everything was freshly made that morning. Mini scones with clotted cream and jam (Mum loved a cream tea) and danish were a particular hit. And her wake went very well, stress free, everyone left nourished and full.

Visiting borehamwood for weekend and popped in for breakfast. Had a coronation baguette and couldn't fault it. Lovely staff and definitely value for money. Worth the reviews.

It’s not often I am wowed enough to write a review but this place is a great find, amazing food, kind service and good value for money.

I have been a customer for over 15 years and they have never disappointed! There is a wide range of options, everything is fresh and delicious.

This is truly the best place to eat in Borehamwood. All the ingredients are fresh because I see the owner at least 2x week buying the ingredients. Also the bread is homemade. Soup is delicious. Staff is super nice. You you feel just at home!

Always stop off here for a lovely coffee and danish. It’s a lot better than the sbucks down the road and one can have proper food.

Have eaten a variety of things here. From wraps to eggs or jackets potatoes. The portions are very good. The service is excellent and if I need something made up specially it’s never too much trouble. Always a great brunch/lunch

I’ve often passed this place without giving it a second glance but today I decided to try it and I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is absolutely spotless, staff were remarkably friendly and polite upon entry and the menu had plenty of choice, including vegan options. We ordered quite a few things and everything was really good... from a full english to a vegetable tagine, everything was very tasty and enjoyable, and it’s easily the best price cafe in the area with the exception of the pastries which were a little pricey but worth every penny! Highly recommend, don’t be fooled by the basic outer appearance of the place, this is a great find and I’ll definitely be back soon!

Great personal service, and food fresh and extremely good quality. I went in for coffee and ended up with coffee, croissants, and freshly made vegetarian filled bagels for a packed lunch. Bagels bursting with ingredients such as halloumi and hummus with vegetables. A real find, this cafe is highly recommended by me.

WE wandered into Borehamwook hoping ot find somewhere for a quick coffe before we set off on long sectin of london Loop walk, Fund this palce and were sotaken witht he menu we ordered coffee and cakes for our elevensesand then take away sandwiches to eat later. Fantastic bagels cooked on the premsises but therew was a much wider choice of home baked breads. The fillings too all seemed home made and of great quaiity. All very reasonably priced. Comfortable seating and loads of characters wandering in and out. Strongly recommend this for breakfast and lunch.

The food is very fresh. Excellent quality. Big queue at lunch times. A little pricey. You can pre order to pick up. Always a good selection.

Attending a recording of a BBC programme at Elstree Studios, I arrived early and while walking down the High St (Shenley Rd), I stopped in the sandwich bar. The selection of different types of bread and fillings is amazing and the staff are excellent. I had a quick luch for a very reasonable price and would highly recommend this place to anyone in or visiting the town.

Arrived today with my dad and sister rather later than unusual. The cafe was a lot emptier than we are used to

We popped in here early afternoon on our way to a recording at nearby Elstree studios. We enjoyed a very nice hot chocolate and latte, served by the friendly staff. A good find not far from Elstree & Borehamwood station.

Love this place! They do great lunches and coffee, yummy hot food, imaginative salads and some wonderful savory and sweet pastries. Definitely better than the average café and good value for such superb food.

The food was creative in the best sense, with all the ingredients of the best home cooked meal with the creative flair of someone cooking for the love of it and to delight the eater. Lots of care and warmth. Delicious!

I've been using this place for a long time but prices differ and order is often wrong when dealing with the senior female member of staff , it happens far to often . Shame really as food is great

Yo tenía un Mediterráneo Espinacas desayuno durante todo el día que comprende una mezcla de espinacas muy sabrosa con 2 huevos frescos en el medio, gran pan, mantequilla, preserve y un café con leche por menos de 6 libras! ! La comida llegó rápidamente después de haberlo pedido. El tajín era muy sabroso, también te dan una taza de copos de chili para agregar a gusto. Llegué alrededor de las 12. 15 y lo fue comprensiblemente ocupados cuando me fui. Personal amable, instalaciones limpias y asientos para 25 comensales. No puedo recomendar Shenley Sandwich Bar lo suficiente, es realmente excelente.

Shenley Sandwich Bar offers freshly made sandwiches, home made soups and bread and all sorts of food at very reasonable prices. Good for breakfast, lunch or a coffee. Cheaper than Starbucks! Family run business with friendly staff.

Excellent for its wide choice of English, Continental and Mediterranean breakfasts as well as its wide selection of breads. Not the cheapest breakfast in Borehamwood but the quality is first rate.

Visited twice in one week and can't wait to go again!!! It's been a long time since I've got excited about trying everything on a menu. It's a small place with a big selection of freshly prepared food that is very reasonably priced. Part of me doesn't want to leave this review in fear that I will have to queue up on my next visit due to popular demand. Coffee was amazing, the staff very friendly and service is brilliant too. Finally there is something decent on Borehamwood high street.

This place is amazing, home cooked food, wraps, Pizzas, you name it, all made fresh on the premises with a smile. Cheap as chips.

What a lovely little cafe. Everythings home made (I think) and tasty. I usually come here for lunch and the buguettes with a filling of your choice is very reasonably priced. I like the moroccan or italian chicken options with halloumi. Far better than any of the other usual food places nearby.

Love that the delicious range of lunch food are freshly baked on site by a great team. Prices are reasonable, I would pick this independent shop over any of the mainstream cafes, much better quality and choice. Always busy but worth the wait & shows why it's so popular. Danish pastries & flapjacks are amazing with around 20 different sandwich fillings, wraps, salads, jacket potatoes, fresh soups & pies to choose from you will be hooked!!

I eat here most days either for lunch or breakfast or both.Food is good quality and very well priced, Take away baked potato with tuna - £3.00, fresh m,mixed salad £3.50 for four vegetarian options. If you work in the area this is the perfect place for cheap quick food. Staff are also very friendly.

My husband and I never visit this end of the village but fancied a change, we were very pleasantly surprised. The menu choices are amazing. All food is cooked to order. My husband had an omelette and I had the full breakfast. It was delicious, huge portions and incredibly filling.It was exceptional value.We were so pleased, we went again the next day and shall definitely be regulars.Friendly, polite staff Thanks so much

I have been a regular for over ten years and have seen would be imitators open nearby and fail time and again.Everything is fresh and all the bread is baked onsite. So much better than the refrigerated, pre-packed offerings on sale at the multiples.Staff are happy and willing to help. Prices are competitive. Portions generous (mostly).This is, without doubt, the best café/sandwich bar in Borehamwood.

The breakfast is good and fresh but the milkshake is grinded ice not leaving a lot of flavour so is rather dissatisfying

Always pop in here for breakfast when the Thameslink is playing up. It is literally more than half the price of Costa / Eat / Starbucks but more than equal to the quality. Added bonus is that it sells very decent cooked breakfasts and exceptional omelettes. The waist line is pleased that the Thameslink hasn't been too bad of late. Excellent, friendly and efficient service always. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

This place is lovely, I visit frequently and always get a delicious meal. There is a vast selection of fillings and different rolls available, with lots of yummy specials to choose from. Gorgeous salads and all the beverages you can imagine. :)

Everything everyone else has said, and free WIFI!All the food is fresh and lovingly prepared. There is always something new as well as they try new combinations, but it is always down to earth.

I've been going to this coffee shop every week since it opened. Great food, great value, great staff. So much better value than the larger coffee shops. Very affordable and very good sized portions.

Great place for lunch, friendly service and very good value compared to other local cafe's. Get's quite busy aroun 1pm so i tend to go a bit later. The soup special is my favourite where you get soup, salad, pitta bread and hummus for i think around £3.50.

Even better is that the owner and his wife are a super couple, and they have obviously hand picked the very likeable staff. The place is friendly and relaxed, the food is freshly made, tasty and wholesome, the portions are generous and the price more than reasonable. This is a quality place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Their success is down to constant attention to all these aspects.

The Bar is open 7 days a week from early morning (6.30am) to late afternoon (4pm) & they cater for those rushing to work, the mid morning brunches or the grab a sandwich lunch time crowd. What I love about this place is not just the very friendly staff but that each & every order is freshly made for you - all made on the premises fresh every day. If you're want a sandwich there's lots of fillings from you to choose from, as well as different types of rolls, breads etc. breakfast can be anything from coffee & a pastry to a full cooked breakfast. Lunch varies from homemade soup, to salads, wraps etc. great value for money so don't be surprised if the tables are full or there's a queue waiting to order take-away lunch. There's a reason why they have so many regular customers coming back again & again.

Regular here for years-owners and food are lovely. All bread baked fresh on the premises and large array of interesting sandwiches,snacky lunches,cakes,pastries etc. Great coffee as well. Very reasonably priced-treat yourself!

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to the train station, the cafe was packed so shows how popular it is, we both just opted for sausage sarni's and teas, the bread was the freshest I've ever had and the tea was lovely. We sat outside as it was a nice sunny morning watching the world go by.

We were hungry and thirsty without time to stop for long. We had beautiful fresh baguette of the day with pesto chicken which was like a meal in itself. The smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel was spot on with lemon juice and black pepper. Just like bubba used to make. Mazeltov and we appreciated the friendly and efficient service as well as the competitive prices. We only wish you were in our high street.
