Had a great breakfast here with really nice coffee. Went for the vege breakfast with sourdough. Could eat this every day! Staff really attentive too which was nice. Ordered a takeaway for my partner too which was ready by the time I had finished.

We have been regular customers at Ben and Ollies for the last 7 years or so. The food is very tasty. Good portion size and the staff are amazing. It is a lovely place for a quick coffee, break, lunch, or brunch.

The glass was dirty, I've asked to change it and when the waitress said this to her colleagues they laughed at it. They just washed the handle of this glass. You also asked us if we would like to leave a tip. Also the worst burger I've ever eaten, 'heaven can wait' is more about me waiting for your service and food to improve. Incredibly rude.

Beautiful food, good value, large portions, best side salad in town. Very popular at lunchtime, although the tables are quite packed in, oftentimes it's hard to get a table! (terrible draft if you sit near the door and the small tables are too small for their large plates). Nothing bad to say except they are too popular, which can't be a bad thing 😀

Ordered a English breakfast and the sausages were smelly and the cheapest you could get i dont think it was worth the price

Very friendly cafe with attentive staff. Wide choices of food and drinks on menu. Sit in or out & takeaway also. Thanks for looking after my drivers groups, they were happy with it all. Will visit again.

Very underwhelming food compared to descriptions and for cost. The beauty for example you’d expect Avo and salmon on both slices but they only did one of each. The scrambled eggs always come out so small id be embarrassed serving this.

Girls were lovely & welcoming, service was rapid however the meal wasn’t as good as it looked.

Superb fresh food. A fabulous varied menu. My regular place for a freshly cooked chicken schnitzel and rice and salad.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Extra people joined us for brunch once we had sat down. The staff moved us to a table for 4 as soon as they could despite it being extremely busy. The food was lovely and the service was good. However, it was very noisy so hard to talk. But the cafe is worth going to.

Ben & Ollie’s is a great little place that serves from an expansive well accomplished menu. On this occasion we came for breakfast, and we chose pancakes with bananas and pancakes with bacon (American). Pancakes with bananas is a three stack of pancakes with chopped banana, strawberries, raspberry and blueberries. The American exchanges the fruit for three rashers of bacon. Maple syrup is provided and it’s all presented gorgeously on exotic plates. The decor of this place is exemplary, it has an eclectic selection of memorabilia throughout the decades on the walls ranging from exotic clocks to retro tv’s through to 80s Spanish figurines of animals to biplanes and fire engines stuck on the wall. Amazing. The lighting is great too, teacups hanging from the ceiling double as shades, as well as what look like Persian lamps hanging Superb look and feel. The staff are great, very friendly, very smiley and always offering positive thoughts with every word. Such a great bunch of people. Will definitely coming back here for mains, as they serve a large hot selection of food up until 4:15pm, even though they close at 4:30, I was told they’d stay open for us to enjoy a meal. They’re that accommodating. That’s a sign of a good place to me.

Staff are standing around or gathering around a table and always chatting. They need to be more professional and actually speak to the customers. Food is lovely here but honestly the customer service is terrible.

Cannot believe it went yesterday for breakfast with a friend it's not the cheapest, but then I was asked to leave a tip at the till when I was paying i didn't and never said nothing as I was in company then called next day and asked to speak with a manager and was refused by who answered the phone me my family and friends will not go back so there loss

2 additional visits and it is consistently good. Getting a table at weekend breakfast is not easy as the place is packed but wait is usually very short. Good stuff! September 23: I've been craving a hearty fry-up for days, and after hearing great things about Ben & Ollie's, my Son and I decided to give it a try on a sunny weekend morning. We were greeted by a bustling atmosphere, but luckily, they had a cozy outdoor seating area where we could enjoy our breakfast and get some sunny vitamin-D. The service was top-notch - our coffees and breakfasts arrived promptly, and the friendly staff made sure we had everything we needed. The presentation of the dishes was impressive, and the flavors were spot on. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bacon was crispy and delicious. What's even more impressive is that Ben & Ollie's manages to strike a great balance between price and quality. While there are certainly cheaper options in the area, the quality of the food and the atmosphere made it well worth the extra cost. We'll definitely be back for more! 😋👍

Impolite, unhelpful staff who tried their hardest to not offer any vegan possibilites. To my question “Any vegan options?” waitress answered cold “No.” - Her colleague came over as I tried asking if they could adjust any meal to make it vegan and she also answered “No.” as I was pressed with time and basically had to force them to make me a hullumi salad with no hallumi and falafel (friend in with chicken oil). What kind of serious restaurant in 2023 has no vegan options? She didnt give a discount for leaving off most of stuff on salad. Then after only being there 30 mins they forcing us to clear the table for next guests. Never again in such a rude, inconsiderate unfriendly restaurant.

Huge menu and the fried egg sausage and bacon sandwich was excellent and service was quick and friendly. I would receive for breakfast and lunch.

It was very busy I counted about 35 people . The food was delicious and hot, very nice coffee. Staff nice even though they were rushed of their feet.

Friendly service food value for money seats need recovering

Aweosme place to have a bit of breakfast. They've got this place working perfectly, cogs turn seamlessly and you can tell. Doesn't take time before you've got a menu, given sufficient time to choose, orders taken and delivered in the time you'd expect everytime. They know their audiences - Teamwork on another level!

Update 23/07/23 What's happened to this place since 5yr went for breakfast today just simple breakfast informed of my allergies but sadly still encountered mushroom on my wife's plate and possibly contamination my end as sadly these make me very ill, we did inform staff off this as ordered a breakfast without mushrooms but seems that somehow still got it ? Once ordered will admit was very quick turn around has this changed staf, and lots of changes as others was chatting around us about certain things , shame as was amazing place full of people really welcoming and good food tasty and just seems it's lost that spark. Overall though good Americano. Just a shame as was good spot for quick bite from breakfast to brunch or even early dinner will we be back not sure. ------------------------------------------ Amazing food ,great staff since the refurbishment looks amazing, just what the omelettes amazing great portions sizing. Well worth the visit, anytime of the day.

The food was very enjoyable,but sadly,I love kippers for breakfast and recommended it to friends as they also liked the kippers. Unfortunately they decided to stop serving kippers sometime ago,I haven’t been back since and neither have my friends. Ben & Ollie’s please bring back the kippers!

Absolutely fantastic! We stopped by as we were staying nearby and we were very happy! The food was light, tasted lovely and served efficiently. The staff were friendly and the coffee was great! Our young daughter even commented on how nice the scrambled were! Would recommend for couples and families. Thank you for a great start to our day!

I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s one of the best breakfast bars I’ve come across that’s not too far from me. The food is great and it’s in a good location.

Nice breakfast and lunch a great surface

Whilst out on my travels, I dropped in for a late breakfast, or should it be classed as Brunch, and was glad to have done so. The staff were very welcoming and attentive whilst providing a speedy service, and my meal served its purpose and went down a treat. It's definitely a good spot to stop off for breakfast.

Always love this place however so dissapointed when asking a waitress with blonde curly hair for tissues she told us to get ourselves on the table where the cutleries and sauces and cleaning thingsare for staff. This I find so bad and never had a staff at restaurant asked me to get myself before unless it’s self service place.

Go to Ben & Ollie's as often as I can. Fantastic food you just cant beat it . Clean nice staff & a great atmosphere 🙌🙌🙌

2nd time visiting the area and Ben and Ollie's ,lovely breakfast again at reasonable prices.

The waitresses were rude and didn't known who was in front of the queue. They then didn't serve us and we left. Ignorant staff and not welcoming. I would not recommend this to anyone visiting first time. However we went to a cafe a few doors away and had a brilliant experience.

A great no frills reasonable place for brunch, great portion sizes

Been going here for a number of years. Decided to go to Tudor Diner today as lately the staff have been rude and incompetent at Ben & Ollies. Food's expensive but can't fault it. Staff used to be brilliant. Also on a number of occasions they have seated a group of 4 before us because we're 2. Walked out a couple of times because of this issue.

Visiting from Norwich. Great little find. Fantastic value for money food, friendly and efficient staff. It was very busy and had a real buzz about it reflecting on it's popularity. Lots of families dining and very child friendly.

Nice food & good prices Perfect place for quick breakfast or lunch/ brunch. We ordered vegetarian panini with avocado, mozzarella cheese and sundry tomato.

Plenty of choice including avocado and smoked salmon. My only criticism is that they are very quick to take plates off your table when they are finished. Made me feel rushed.

I made a collection for my lunch, was very disappointed to find tissue in the salad. We called the restaurant and they didn’t seem to concerned that we had eaten it.

We haven’t been to elstree since before covid so really wanted a nice breakfast found this place on the main high street and wasn’t disappointed the staff were all brilliant the food was amazing and the price was very reasonable We will definitely be back next time we are in elstree!!

It's okay the first time I had food from here was a takeaway and it was really. But the service could be better for the value of the money are u paying however I asked for sourdough toast it was not sourdough and my stomach can't take white bread they lie again I didn't kick up a fuss please be careful with this place. The waitresses can't even speak or understand basic English either. I would highly recommend going to Barracuda few doors up the food service much better and professionalism and high quality. Value for money is far better too.

Customer service is usually quite good, and the food is always tasty. I would give them 5* for the food and 3.5* for the service. However, I witnessed the situation that a previous reviewer reported on - two ladies with a buggy each were not accommodated, the server practically dropped the plate in my lap in her haste to stop the ladies from moving tables to fit their buggies in. The hosts then did absolutely nothing to help place the ladies in a way that would be helpful for them. The cafe was not particularly full, and there seemed to be no reason why they couldn’t have temporarily moved some tables to fit them in. Very poor customer service from the hosts involved. 0* for customer service for those ladies.

Great food, plenty of choice and large portions! Had the smoked salmon salad which included pomegranate, pickled red cabbage, mixed salad leaves, tomato and cucumber. Delicious!!

Very disappointed with the service my friend and I got. We came in around 2pm on a Friday with 2 sleeping babies in prams. We were placed at a table where our prams could not fit as we were told we could not be in the middle of the restaurant with prams. So then we were told to go to the back where the music was blaring from the TV and the loud kitchen was. This wasn't OK as we had sleeping babies so we went back to were they showed us and tried to move the tables to fit our prams so they were out of the way and were told to stop as it cut off part of another table. They did not try help us or problem solve just told us where we could not sit. When I said this, they just stared at us not even trying to correct the situation and so we walked out. We went up the road to a rival cafe where we were treated with respect as mum's of 2 babies and they accommodated us. Shocking service. I wanted to try this place out, but didn't get a chance with the terrible customer service.

Best breakfast I’ve had in ages

While I cannot fault, the helpful waitresses and quality of service, in seeking out a new haunt, I have given this several tries recently and although it is absurdly over priced, I was truly floored today when they charged £5 for two cans of Diet Coke. Despite clarifying I paid £1.80 each the other day for the same, this seemed lost on them and as a result of this blatant rip off, will not be returning.It’s a shame but such blatant greed is an insult.

Top quality breakfast food, portions are always enormous though, they need to add some slightly smaller breakfast option.
