Decided to try somewhere with 'a difference' for breakfast with the chance of watching some planes. I'd checked on their website for the opening times which stated 9am with bookings advisable, so called the day before to be told 'It will be ok to just turn up' My friend & I duly did so but on arrival at 9:15am the Skyways Bar appeared to be Shut. There were 2 people who appeared to be staff outside chatting. As I approached these obviously disinterest couple, I asked if they were open for breakfast. Just to be greeted with a 'NO' I explained that I thought it was open at 9am, to have a rude & ignorant response of 'NO, 10 o'clock', that was it... they continued with their conversation!! With this we returned to our car & drove off to to the nearby Harley cafe at the Welbeck estate - should have gone here in the first place. I find it unbelievable that a business will treat potential customers this way & in turn are throwing money away!! Perhaps the cost of living crisis hasn't effected them & they're making so much money that they don't need any custom? They need to visit Harley Cafe for lessons in customer service!! I wish I could give this place a MINUS score!!

What a little gem, hidden away in beautiful countryside at Netherthorpe: The Skyways Bar at Sheffield Aero Club. My Husband, myself and a friend went there for a Father's Day Meal. Sue, Tracey and Gemma were fabulous, attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble even though they had a full restaurant and bar. The food was marvellous, we had Sunday Dinner, with a choice of pork or beef. It was beyond our expections, it was delicious, well cooked and the portion sizes are more than ample and so was the price. You won't be disappointed. It's advisable to book for Sunday meals as it gets busy. The Skyways Bar has a good, chilled out, atmosphere, well stocked bar and bar snacks they do light bites as well as meals. You can watch the planes/other craft from a tabled area outside, eat al fresco or indoors. It's nice just to pop in and have a drink too. Children and dogs are welcome. 10⭐🛩️

Having rung ahead to check dogs were ok to enter the restaurant, we arrived as a group of 8 (with 1 dog) to try the Sunday lunch and attend a family birthday celebration. About 10-15 mins after buying our drinks and deciding what to eat we were asked if we could 'do something with our dog' as a complaint had been made by a customer with allergies. This person had arrived after us and then spotted the dog. I find the customer service somewhat lacking as I would hope it is up to person entering the building to decide if they find the space suitable for them or not. Thankfully we'd not already ordered food. All doors were open to the building and I have a low allergen dog having allergies and asthma myself, so I'm not ignorant to allergies. I think there was more chance of having an allergic reaction from the dog hairs in evidence on the carpets than from a small low shedding dog. I feel a compromise could have been reached, but instead we felt we had no choice but to leave. Very unhappy with the customer service and how it was handled, can only assume this person is a regular.

Great brekkie the other Friday. Staff very friendly. Was our first visit but won't be our last. New cook who made us very welcome. Will be back for evening meal very soon. Great little bar. Looked like nice tables outside which will be great in summer.

Everything was frozen, boil in the bag beef. Nothing had anything flavour, really can’t understand how a carrot can not even taste like a carrot!! If you can’t do it right please don’t do it at all!

For the last 6 years we have been here watching the planes and having a brilliant sunday lunch feeling "Well" stuffed after . So the new management took over and I expected something better .Well the meat was cooked well both the the beef and gammon however the portions were hardly half of what we used to get . The veg roast potatoes were not bad but the yorkshire puddings were less than half the size we used to get . Service was good but when you are served a lemonade out of a bottle .and it is was so flat . I think there is a problem with the bar license here . also we had to wait 40 mins for our meal . Not right We will try another sunday meal because its early days but get some meat on the plate or you will miss out on customers lol

Visited here today for a flying lesson taken by our grand-daughter for her 21st birthday. The instructor Terry was wonderful putting her (and her stressed mum) at total ease. He even took her over her home town. All in all a fantastic experience.

Went for Friday as its fish and chip day. As sign outside, showed it was their special for the day. The chips and Mushy peas were average, hard to get wrong really. However the fish not so good. The batter was crispy on outside then wet and slimy inside, looked horrible. It also contained the thinnest piece of fish. It cost £10.30 clearly not worth it. However the service and drinks were good. But as we mainly went for food 2* rating for me. Should have been a sign when only a handful of people were in pub.

To the owner of the fairways, you do not deserve your staff. The fairways is MASSIVELY understaffed, the staff are rushing round like something demented, one person trying to do the work of 3. Sunday lunchtime - one bar staff serving drinks and doing orders for lunch. One young girl in the restaurant serving meals , clearing tables and wiping tables and setting them PLUS taking bookings. The chef, cooking meals, filling up the veg containers, serving lunch and carving meat. We have been going for Sunday lunch every week for over 2 years and as staff have left they have not been replaced. Something needs to be done before they start losing custom.

We had such a lovely couple of pints at the Royal Oak just now. Lesley (Landlady) made us feel very welcome and served us delicious pints of Sam Smiths and two pie and mash dinners (I had the steak and ale - so tasty). My Dad is from Ulley (an Ulley-er) and he has lovely memories of the pub in its golden years. It's so nice to see the place under new management and on a new journey. Food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. We will for sure be back - thanks Lesley!
