Sheesh Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

Was looking forward to coming here the Place was nice, was just rushed from start to finish felt like couldn’t wait to get us out the restaurant was cleaning the table whilst we was still eating mains. Food Litterally came instantly from order. Loads of staff just standing around. Starters was nice and mains was nice didn’t rate the desserts. Was mixed feelings about the place, if I could go there and enjoy the meal without being pressured to order and leave I would return but can’t see that happening.

The food was very nice but waaayyyyy too expensive for what it is. The portions are big so we could have shared making the prices more bearable but we were upsold by the waitress who said you only get 3 pieces of meat with a main.

This is a great spot for an instagram night out with the venue and location perfect for your posts. But in terms of the food…. kebab was nice and plentiful but it’s a kebab, it’s hard to mess it up. I wouldn’t bother with starters or sides as they are massively overpriced. £8 for a cereal bowl of chips and the same for rice is grotesquely expensive. What’s also annoying is that the drinks menu does not list beers or soft drinks so you only find out when you pay unless you ask. £12 a beer is rip off. The 10% markup on all the dishes compared to the Essex establishment also feels a bit of a liberty but you are opposite the ritz so I can see how they do it So, unless you want to drop a few hundred for a round of kebabs on the off chance of seeing some “celebrity” I would give it a miss.

My husband and I visited last year when it first opened and had a great experience and thought whilst it was a bit steep in price it was worth it because it was very filling and good quality. Not even a year later they have increased the price of a chicken sheesh by £12! It was £33 and is now £44!!! Then a sprite was £9.50!!! The restaurant is quite dark and you’re constantly getting blinded by wannabe influencers phone flash constantly going off. Whilst the food is good I can’t justify paying more than I do at novikov for less food!

The best thing I can say is; Staff were very attentive. But having the most expensive kebab in what can only be described as a Disney World dinner, was at best underwhelming. No wow factor and a bowl of under cooked wedges costing £30.00 was shocking. Really not worth the visit, when it could have been so much better!! Such a Shame

Nice place but empty lots of staff hanging around made the place feel uncomfortable. Meal was fine but hugely overpriced for what you get. Starter was good but poor value overall nice evening but terrible value for money, lots of other places nearby with finer meals available. Disappointed with the overall product they are clearly playing on the celebrity connections which is fine if you can back it up but £62 for a lame and chicken salad and £8 for a green tea is a liberty.

They should rename this restaurant Sheesh Drive-through…. We arrived 15 minutes early to our table and were seated straight away… which was good. I had noted when booking we had a 2 hour window for our meal. Our waitress was attentive and got us our drinks that arrived instantly as did our starters. We were then disturbed at least 5 times to supposedly see if we were enjoying our starters, when really they wanted to serve us our mains. We asked politely if we could have a 15 minute breather until our mains were cooked as at this point we had only been in the restaurant 25 minutes. They said that’s fine and then another pushy waiter came to our table with our mains and said “it’s Saturday, our busiest night, you can’t wait” I explained we had only just had our starters and the plates had only just been taken from our table. He insisted we had to have our dinner and tried to put the plates down. We refused the dinner and asked for the bill which was £114. Had we eaten the meal we had ordered our bill without anymore drinks would have been around £300 NO RESTAURANT SHOULD RUSH YOU TO EAT AND GO, EVEN MORE SO WHEN HOUR PAYING THISE KIND OF PRICES. I’ve had better service in McDonalds… I would never re visit or recommend. So disappointing as we had been really looking forward to a rare night out in London. Our children had given us money for Christmas to enjoy a nice romantic meal and instead we grabbed a M&S sandwich and Yum Yums for the train journey home.

we popped in for lunch for my daughters birthday with two small children. the meal was value for money as we had 3 courses for £30, no choice of starter or dessert and basic. BUT the drinks were extortionate- £9.50 for a coca cola, no prices for soft drinks on menu!!!!!

We have previously been to Sheesh in Chigwell and loved it. We had a last minute trip to London just before Christmas and were quite surprised to find plenty of availability for dinner in London so booked in. The building is stunning. The renovation has been done extremely well and it looks fab. I didn’t order a starter but had a couple of my husband’s calamari which was delicious. The portion is huge too - plenty for two! I had the mixed sheesh and my husband ordered the Wagyu burger. The burger was barely warm when it arrived so the waiter did replace it. The second wasn’t that much better. My husband isn’t a fan of Parmesan and the burger was covered in it. If there was a description on the menu we would have asked to leave it off but there is no description. My sheesh was ok. Tasty and no complaints. Being harsh it was no better than you would pay a third of the price for elsewhere. Shredded veg is shredded veg right?! Neither of us ordered dessert. We did have a bottle of wine, I had a cocktail and we had sparkling water. The total bill was around £300. Overall we were disappointed. After the experience in Chigwell I felt a bit let down. Chigwell is quirky and fun. This is missing in London. Paying £300 for a meal I want to walk away thinking “that was delicious” and we didn’t. There are many expensive restaurants in London and there are many very good restaurants. I think Sheesh need to raise their game to survive in London. We wouldn’t go back. There are too many other restaurants to try to go back to overpriced, average food.

Very underwhelmed. Very expensive and very grudging staff who almost seemed to resent our being there - maybe because I’m not a ‘bright young thing’ 😄 - food as good from the local kebab shop so I’m told, but as a vegetarian I had no main meal choice. All gaudy glitz and no substance.
