amazing food however was dry so asked for some cream and cj took me round the back and we had a wild time after he filled me to the brim to the point it started leaking out the top xxx

Excellent pie, mash and liquor as always. I’ve been at least 10 times and always loved it. Can’t understand the negative reviews unless they’re from the cafes nearby!

My friend and I had been planning a visit for some time and today was the day. At noon it was empty and at 12:40 only four more customers, apparently it was the day the owner was not there! My friend and I did enjoy out single pie and mash plus liquor. Perhaps just a quiet time and would hate to discourage a small business so please try it out and improve custom. Good luck and let’s hope the next time you have eels.

This is the worst pie and mash I have ever had and I eat in other established P&M shops regularly. Wouldn’t even give it to my dog. Thin liquor like water, lousy meat substitute and two little (ice cream type) scoops of mash. Won’t ever go back.

YUK!!! The worst pie and mash shop I think I've ever visited.....Sorry but it was wasn't nice!! Visited at lunchtime on a Saturday and the shop was empty so should of known better but ordered and tried to eat but really not very nice, not saying that the meat was off but both me and the misses agreed that it left us with a bad taste in our mouths ( purple violet sweets, if you can remember them ). I really do hope that others have had better experiences than this as pie and mash shops are becoming thin on the ground, but as a honest review I can't say we enjoyed our experience on this day. Sorry shows.x

I didnt know Selsdon had a pie and mash shop but a mate of mine had eaten there before ,so I tried it out with him . We were greeted with a ( very pretty ) lady with a cheerful smile , the pies had decent meat content ,the mash was fine , the liquor was good and the chilli vineger had the correct amount of bite ! Ive ate pie and mash all over London and dont be fooled you might be in Selsdon and not the East End ,but the pie and mash was good x

My work takes me all around South London and I eat out frequently for lunch. There are a few places that I visit each time I am in the area and this is one of my stops when I am working around Selsdon. Not sure if other reviewers are accustomed to(or maybe have a bee up their behind) but if you are in the area there certainly isn't any alternative for eel pie and mash. And what you get here is worth coming back for.

Takeaway. As locals, we so wanted this to be good having been regulars at Manze's in the past. I don't like posting negative reviews, but as a user of this site to select businesses, I feel I should contribute... Pies - undercooked base, dried out tops, containing tasteless over-minced meat and air, no sauce. Mash - lacking flavour, no evidence of butter and bizarrely a powdery (surely not reconstituted!) mouth feel. Liquor - watery, lacking in flavour with a floury feel to it. We both abandoned our attempts to eat it about a quarter of the way in. Sadly reminiscent of school dinners. I hope for the owners' sake we caught them on a particularly bad day.

Consistent great quality pies with lovely lump free mash! What more do you want! If you like your pie and mash definitely recommend you try shaws.

Great addition to Selsdon high street, lovely pie n mash with chilli vinegar and liquor and glass of Sarsaparilla oh and yummy apple pie for afters too ...Friendly helpful staff and in my opinion value for money...

Recently purchased a takeaway Pie and mash from this shop. Whilst the pie is smaller than the usual for well established P&M premises, the crust was nice, filling quite clumpy though.The mash being two small scoops, far less than acceptable. The liquor was watery and bland. Having eaten P&M over the course of many years, and in very well established businesses, I will not be returning here. One can only assume that they believe the public are not aware of how this traditional meal should taste. The hygenie rating of only 1 as at March 2020 on the Councils website concerns me. Despite lockdown there has been time to request a review of this (paid service) if their standards have improved. # Personal view only.

Just gad a lovely meal and it was delicious and very very clean. It’s all brand new and toilets immaculate defo a must try

such a poorly put together meal mash is cheap dished up like school dinner scoops in the 70's crust sunken 10cm of mince with other cheap mix to fill ;liquor sauce watered down no parsley taste i wanted a pie full of meat not sunken crisp trimmings had tasted better from Alldis down the road
