We had a meal at Sharksfin on our first evening in Mevagissey. We hadn't booked but as it was early evening they were able to accommodate us. It is advised to book, especially in high season. The food was lovely, a varied menu, freshly prepared and good value. There is a nice atmosphere as it is right on the quay front.

We went here for lunch whilst holidaying in the area. The restaurant is bright and has lots of seating, staff are very friendly and there is a great menu lots of choices of both food and drink. We chose fish and chips at £14 each. We were not disappointed at all. The chips were lovely. The fish was beautifully cooked great crisp batter and a huge piece of haddock. Didn’t have room for dessert. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Popped in for a snack at lunch time and created a tapas experience from their starters selection. WOW, what fabulous tasting food :-) Calamari, onion rings and arancini balls. Service was first class and great value lunch. And all this in the heart of one of Cornwalls pretty little fishing ports. Can't beat England for a holiday :-)

Birthday celebration and two chicken Milanese dishes came up cold and had to be sent back so we all ate at different times. Disappointing as we have eaten here before and always found the food of a really good standard hence why we came here for the birthday. Cannot fault the mangers response on how to correct the situation. Hopefully just an unfortunate incident.l

Excellent harbour side restaurant with great cooking and friendly service. We visited several times and were not disappointed with any dish. My wife loved the seabass special (I had a wonderful chowder) and we both loved the plaice. The regular dishes don't disappoint either and the burgers are really tasty, particularly the blackened fish. I'd say it's mid-price and two people can have a burger each plus starter or dessert, for £50 to £60. If you push the boat out the same two will be doubling that. It's not fine dining, but it is simple and very tasty cooking. The fish cooking is particularly good.

Great local seafood restaurant looks out over the harbour delicious food and prompt friendly service Better to book as can be very busy and booking times are used for seating guests Area quiet when we went in April so were able to park ( paid) close to the sea front beware the roads are very narrow in this old Cornish port with pedestrians in the roads Lucky with a glorious sunny evening to watch the fishing boats returning

Locals had recommended the Sharksfin to us and we were grateful they could fit us in without a booking, on a lovely table overlooking the harbour. Relaxed and friendly ambience, and delicious food (but large portions!). We shared a starter of local scallops from the specials board (juicy and perfectly cooked on a bed of parmesan polenta with salsa verde), then mains of the mixed seafood chowder (really delicious & outstanding dish, with plentiful mussels, white fish, prawns, pancetta and new potatoes) and a well presented burger, with wines by the glass and local Cornish gin. A really enjoyable experience and very glad we dined here.

We are here twice whilst we were staying in Mevagissey and it did not disappoint either time. The food was amazing, and a decent sized portion, we could only do one course and we came out stuffed each time! I have coeliac disease and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting what could be changed so dishes were gluten free. They have gluten free rolls so are able to do all the burgers and anything that comes with bread as a side gluten free. All the fish we had was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. We would definitely return, was our favourite in Mevagissey!

We visited this modern welcoming restaurant over the Easter break . We enjoyed a delicious hot drink as the weather was horrendous. The restaurant was empty one side and always had free tables around us . We decided to order more drinks after asking if this was ok ! Whilst waiting for the drinks to arrive the manager approached us to inform us we had 20 minutes to drink up as our table was reserved. There was not one table reserved in the entire restaurant so this was hard to believe she was abrupt boarder line rude . We had to rush our drinks and left quickly . She let her staff down and her employers

We are down on holiday and The Sharksfin was recommended by a friend of my wife. Now it's our chance to recommend it to anyone and everyone!! Arrived here Saturday and had pre-booked Sunday lunch and boy, what a lunch it was! Didn't get pics but it was amazing and, freshly cooked - we had a chicken and a beef and, the beef just fell apart. Everything about this meal was more than perfect and, so much so, we booked again for lunch today. Another spectacular meal with me having fish & chips with onion rings and the wife had one of the specials, Pan Fried Hake in Samphire and Lobster cream sauce with crushed new potatoes and seasonal greens. Again, an amazing and well cooked meal and we hope to return one last time before we head home at the weekend. Simply put, amazing food with a service that was attentive, friendly and natural without being in any way obtrusive. Highly recommend for the perfect meal, service and, a great, ice-cold pint of Amstel!! Keep up the good work*****

I wanted to write a good review of the Sharksfin, but sadly I’m unable to do so. We booked a table at 4.00pm on a Sunday hoping to have a a Sunday lunch which had been recommended. Unfortunately they only had x2 left - is 4.00pm too late to expect a Sunday lunch ?? We then decided to have catch of the day which was okay - we asked two different servers for some water which didn’t appear and it really wasn’t that busy. Our bill for 3x mains and 3x drinks (small glass wine, bitter shandy and a cider) was nearly £94 which I think is a bit overpriced - we were expecting better for the price paid …

Visited a very windy cold Mevagissey, noticed this harbourside restuarant. Went in welcomed warmly suggestions given on menu choice. There were 3 in our party. 2 of us went by servers recommendation of Seafood Chowder. The food came to our table beautifully presented. A feast on the eye before we even started. It was absolutely superb, so many flavours with each mouthful. Our friend had Lemon sole, equally delicious in both presentation and taste. compliments to the Chef ( I had to tell him in person) Staff were attentive super friendly I'm gluten free impressed by servers knowledge, she brought an allergen chart for me to double check. I’d love to give a great review as I’ve been past this so many times in summer and it looks amazing. We are down for a winter break and booked in for dinner. We had the fish specials. Lou had scallops followed by plaice with seasonal veg. I had calamari to start followed with cod with tender-stem and chips. If you consider 3 scallops on a plate at a cost of 4 pound each reasonable then you’re in the right place. Bear in mind these were more akin to queenies than kings. We have to talk about the mains. Wow. The plaice tasted awful. The taste you get from frozen fish. The veg came out last and I would guess straight from the microwave. The cod was small and sat on two tender-stems to make it look taller. The chip were frozen fried in a small bowl and cold. So here we go Cod with chips 28 pounds Plaice with veg 25 pounds 3 tiny scallops 12 pounds 5 tiny calamari 10 pounds Plus no choice but to pay a service charge It’s not the money. It’s the poor quality of food and the portions.

We always eat at the Sharksfin when we are in Mevagissey; today there was only one waitress, as someone had phoned in sick, but what a star she was! A coach had obviously come into town and suddenly the restaurant was quite full, but she carried on and everyone got their drinks. We ordered the fish and chips, and as usual, it was superb, beautifully white tasty haddock and we like the fact that the batter is quite thin and not fatty. We would also like to thank them for holding onto hubby’s glasses as he left them there last week. Many thanks for a great meal, coffee and super service.

Situated right on the quayside of this lovely Cornish port of Mevagissey, the Sharksfin is a great venue for a late breakfast. The weather was fine and the picture windows were wide open which simply added to the overall experience. Breakfast was cooked to order and included all the essentials of a Full English... my only criticisms would be that BBQ beans do not add anything... my choice would be good old regular Heinz and dry cured smoked back bacon instead of streaky would make this breakfast perfect. Good tasting flat white coffee. The place was busy, so it takes a little while to prep and serve freshly cooked food, so just relax and soak up the beautiful location. The Sharksfin is dog friendly which was nice to see. Very reasonably priced and friendly service. Living locally I will certainly be visiting more often....

My husband and I spent our holiday evenings in Sharksfin, drinking cocktails and watching the world go by (including Del Boy and Rodney, Mevagissey's resident ducks); I'll be dreaming of the Sharksfin Harbouritas for a long time to come. Coffee was great, cocktails were very tasty, food colourful, plentiful and delicious with really nice ingredients for each meal more enticing than usual menus on lovely crockery. My only suggestion is the toilets aren’t really that nice for the standard of the rest of the restaurant, cheap ply toilet roll, all a bit rusty and tatty and wet, mirrors caked and the air dryer area is saturated and spraying water everywhere, the loos was just a bit of an afterthought when designing for an otherwise lovely place to eat, drink and relax. The starter's are great and very flavoursome I had the pork belly bites, there is a good menu to choose from. For mains I had a whole Sea Bass, Wow! Absolutely superb 👌 Mouth watering! Definitely worth a visit and the staff are really friendly 😊

Lovely place with view over the harbour. Gosh chowder was the best I’ve ever had and good vegetarian options. Dog friendly 🐶

We ate here tonight (a Friday night), was quite busy but despite this, staff were kind, attentive, and kept areas really clean. We would especially like to thank Lily for being so attentive, informative and kind. Drinks and food tasted good too.

Had a lovely meal here with my husband, we had belly pork and fish tacco with garlic bread, and calamari and fish of the day, lemon sole. All of the food was delicious, free glass of prosecco as it was hubbies birthday. The service was amazing, I think our server was called Jake, nothing was too much for him, so friendly and helpful . Not the cheapest and didn't enjoy the aperol spritz drink, but nice for a treat

My husband and I stopped here for an impromptu, commiseratory pasty after a big wave soaked our feet (and our dog). The steak pasties are delicious (lovely hint of black pepper), and so is the Cornish Cola. And the dog looked so sandy and soggy, she was offered a sausage to cheer her up! Great food and even better service – what a fantastic place.
