Very tasty food but you don’t get free poppadoms like with other Indian restaurants

Every visit here we have had a great meal & last night was no exception. We enjoy the poppadums & dips for starters then share 2 mains with a rice. One of the best chicken kormas in the area 😋. Staff are very friendly & prices reasonable with an extensive menu. No trouble getting a same day booking either.

ordered at 19.45, the food came at 21.25. curry tasted sour and i couldnt eat it. saag aloo had no real taste to it, very bland. after waiting so long for the food it was very disappointing and i would actually say my curry was the worst i've ever had. this place used to be great but its gone downhill. i wont be ordering from here again

The food was tasty but it took a phone call to check and then US collecting (ordered with delivery) TWO HOURS after we ordered. Staff were friendly enough but maybe a few poppadoms thrown in as an apology at the very least might have been nice.

The entire meal was a letdown. The food lacked flavour and didn’t match the descriptions on the website. The paratha we ordered was undercooked and doughy, while the sabji malai kofta had an odd taste and texture that left us baffled. To top it off, the naans arrived soggy and unappetising. Overall, a disappointing experience that fell well short of expectations. Would not recommend.

Always had really good food here, and the staff are super helpful. They do take away and dine in. Really nice food and great staff,, never had a bad meal always brilliant

Chicken curry plain no flavour disappointed after waiting an hour

awful, arrived on time but cold had to reheat and the kema nann was just a plain nann had, minimal meat in it, would never order from here again, absolutely shocking

Our meal was delivered but not very hot and missing a salad portion which is not the first time this has happened.

The food arrived cold, with raw chicken, missing items, and a garlic naan unexpectedly covered in chilli. When I raised the issues, I was passed from one staff member to another, only to be given poor excuses. To top it off, I was told that if I wanted a refund, I’d have to return the food first—absolutely disappointing and a terrible experience overall.

The food here is okay and the portion size is adequate. However, the service is constantly slow, from taking the drinks order to finally getting the bill. There never seems to be a reason as to why? We have been when it’s busy and quiet and still the same slow service.

Delicious food that I have come to expect from Shapla White. Keep up the good work.

Food is always good. I always pre-order but you end to pick a time 30 minutes before you really want your food as the last 3 times were at least half an hour late.

One of letchworths local legends always ordered from here and they don't disappoint. Decided to arrange collection after a quick call they'll happily cater to dietary requirements. Partner very happy with food 😋 will happily answer and assist with menu to suit

It is a wonderful Indian restaurant. Stuff are so polite and pleasant. all meals are presented beautifully. The taste is just so great. They are not only hot curry but even I can recognize the delicate difference of each dish. To me, this is the best curry restaurant. I have been there for 8 years regularly.

Had a horrible time at collection. Was 30 minutes delayed. The food we did receive wad nice but, there was no Mango Chicken. So one member of our party never ate.

I had the set menu for 2 meal and it is the blandest Indian food I've ever had... like zero flavour and taste. I've never been more disappointed especially as every single element/component was underwhelming 😔

Asked for spicy but all food was very sweet and very bland. Not authentic indian food at all and delivery was very late called up twice and still had no clue what was going on. Will not be ordering again

Ordered at 18:05 and on confirmation of order a delivery time of 19:05 to 19:25 came up. Not great but ok. By 19:30 still not here. Messaged to be told restaurant said it will be here by 19:45. Arrived 19:40 and the driver was apologetic, but not his fault. Then to top it most of the dishes were cold. Haven’t ordered for a while as delivery times were so bad. Wish we hadn’t bothered trying again. Don’t even get a free poppadom or 2 now. Disappointed is an understatement.

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this review as the staff at the restaurant are really nice and I feel bad for them, but the food is not anywhere near the standard that anyone would expect in an Indian restaurant and certainly not what I’m use to, I’d go as far to say that the chef must have been off that night because it would be impossible for them not to know how bad it was I ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras and it was awful.. dry hard chunks of tikka chicken which appeared to have been added to a heavily tomato based sauce with lots of red pepper thrown in and stirred, it was a shame because the front of house were brilliant.. I didn’t complain as I never do were food is concerned, just paid .. tipped the waiter and we left. This is a completely unbiased review and I only write it to help the restaurant improve.. I was basically served with what tasted like a tin of tomato soup with dry lumps of tikka chicken heavily dosed with cayenne pepper, heated thru and stirred. We went to a different Indian restaurant the next night and had possibly the best meal I’ve had in long time .. I’m just sorry I hadn’t gone there first.. live and learn

So I killed one of my bus list items today in eating solo, well happy with myself. Great food , very tender meat , chef to be commended. I eat out a lot and am lucky enough to eat in some quality places. This gaff needs a bit of a smarten up on the decor front but really needs smartening up front of house. Chap was efficient but not remotely engaging. You can have average food but a great night if the staff engage and make your evening. I tried several times during and at the end to get some interaction with the FOH chap but it wasn’t to be , shame. I’ll stick to the takeaways and me and my dog can make each other smile.

Food was hot, really good quality and full of flavour

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here. We went mid week and had the set neal for 2, which was very well priced & really good! The service was impeccable, will definitely be going back.

Fantastic...... Absolutely love the food. Staff are more than welcoming, polite and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. And its not expensive......so win win !!

AVOID ordering takeaway. Took over an hour and a half to receive order which by then the food was barely warm. Rang restaurant to chase up twice as it was 40 mins late from foodhub’s delivery time. Staff member was evasive when I asked him when the delivery driver left etc. and point blank refused to even refund the delivery charge despite the awful late service. I understand it may be busy so in that case, don’t take orders and give false delivery times. Food was below average standard. Won’t use them again.

Really poor service. Waited 90 minutes for food and had to leave in the end as we didn't receive our main course. No one was receiving their food. Think the chef is on his own trying to cook with 1 pan, as everyone was moaning. We sat next to 3 guys who were laughing as they had shared their 2 starters of samosas for over 1 hour. I ended up eating the mint dip.... When I said we were leaving, the owner/manager came out and said 10 more minutes (even though we had been informed it will only be another 10 minutes 3 times already) and the food will be out. Still charged us for the drink we had. Not worth the visit, really gone down hill. The toilets are usually a good indicator how clean a restaurant is. Go in there before you order your food and judge for yourself...you will be out as quick as you were in. Shame.

The bag containing the food split and my wife's lamb passanda spilt onto our kitchen floor it ruined the evening to be honest a refund for the dish would be nice

Quite disappointed., rice was awful, think cooked hours ago and reheated Some dishes did not have any flavour. The toilets were terrible. The curries we had were nice though Would not recommend
